    Opis:
    The article presents the concept of using the theory of similarity in the recognition of medical patterns. The aim of the work is to construct a graphical model of disease entity pattern and the state of the patient's health in such a way as to use natural human ability of perception to identify similarities between them. With this approach, the representation of medical patterns can be used to support the diagnosis process of disease entities.
    W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję wykorzystania teorii podobieństwa w rozpoznawaniu wzorców medycznych. Celem prowadzonych prac jest skonstruowanie postaci graficznej wzorca jednostki chorobowej oraz stanu zdrowia pacjenta, w taki sposób, aby wykorzystać naturalne zdolności percepcyjne człowieka do identyfikacji podobieństwa między nimi. Dzięki takiemu podejściu, reprezentacja wzorców medycznych może zostać zastosowana do wsparcia procesu diagnozowania jednostek chorobowych.

    Opis:
    The aim of the article was to present and examine the level of competitiveness of the districts (poviats) of Małopolska province, and compare them with each other in this respect. The analysis included three dimensions: social, economic, and environmental. This subdivision results from the direction of implementing the principles of sustainable development. In each dimension, typical variables have been selected, which facilitated the determination of respective competitive positions of each district. The study was based on a multivariate space of variables, using one of the methods of taxonomic classification – Ward’s agglomeration, and combinatorial operative method of enabling separation of homogeneous clusters in respect to the studied phenomenon. In order to determine similarities between individual units (districts called poviats, or counties), matrix of Euclidean distances was used. Analyses have shown that towns with district rights tend to enjoy high competitive positions, as well as those districts located in the southern part of the Małopolska province.
    Celem artykułu było przedstawienie oraz zbadanie poziomu konkurencyjności powiatów woj. małopolskiego i porównanie ich względem siebie. Analiza obejmowała trzy wymiary: społeczny, gospodarczy i środowiskowy. Wynikają one z kierunków wdrażania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju. W każdym wymiarze wytypowane zostały zmienne, które pozwoliły na określenie pozycji konkurencyjnej powiatu. Badania przeprowadzono w oparciu o wielocechową przestrzeń zmiennych, stosując jedną z taksonomicznych metod klasyfikacji – aglomeracyjną metodę kombinatoryczną Warda umożliwiającą wydzielenie skupień homogenicznych pod kątem badanego zjawiska. Do określenia podobieństwa pomiędzy poszczególnymi jednostkami (powiatami) posłużono się macierzą odległości euklidesowych. Analizy wykazują że wysoką konkurencyjnością cechują się miasta na prawach powiatu, a także powiaty zlokalizowane w południowej części woj. małopolskiego.

    E-learning has become a challenge for many universities worldwide, which during the pandemic had to switch overnight from offline to online learning and meet the expectations of students for whom this form of education was often alien. The aim of the paper is to present how students from two different countries, Spain and Poland, perceived e-learning during the pandemic, what factors, in their opinion, influenced their satisfaction with this form of education, which of them decreased it; and what are the similarities and differences in their opinion. In order to get to know their opinions, an online survey was conducted with students at the University of Manresa (Spain), and telephone interviews with students of the Warsaw University of Technology Business School. A comparative analysis of the obtained results was then performed to determine the similarities and differences in the satisfaction with e-learning between the Spanish and Polish students. The study shows that the main factors satisfying both groups of students are the possibility to use digital didactic materials, the quality of e-learning platforms, the organisation of e-learning, and the support provided by universities and lecturers. The most significant differences were visible in the perception of online classes, the formula for completing the course, and the didactic activities for students. The research results lead to the conclusion that despite the cultural differences and different teaching systems, the factors satisfying students with e-learning in the two countries were in fact quite similar.
