Opis:
Background Medication administration errors (MAE) are a worldwide issue affecting the safety of hospitalized patients. Through the early identification of potential causes, it is possible to increase the safety of medication administration (MA) in clinical nursing. The study aimed to identify potential risk factors affecting drug administration in inpatient wards in the Czech Republic. Material and Methods A descriptive correlation study through a non-standardized questionnaire was used. Data were collected from September 29 to October 15, 2021, from nurses in the Czech Republic. For statistical analysis, the authors used SPSS vers. 28 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA). Results The research sample consisted of 1205 nurses. The authors found that there was a statistically significant relationship between nurse education (p = 0.05), interruptions, preparation of medicines outside the patient rooms (p < 0.001), inadequate patient identification (p < 0.01), large numbers of patients assigned per nurse (p < 0.001), use of team nursing care and administration of generic substitution and an MAE. Conclusions The results of the study point to the weaknesses of medication administration in selected clinical departments in hospitals. The authors found that several factors, such as high patient ratio per nurse, lack of patient identification, and interruption during medication preparation of nurses, can increase the prevalence of MAE. Nurses who have completed MSc and PhD education have a lower incidence of MAE. More research is needed to identify other causes of medication administration errors. Improving the safety culture is the most critical challenge for today’s healthcare industry. Education for nurses can be an effective way to reduce MAEs by enhancing their knowledge and skills, mainly focusing on increasing adherence to safe medication preparation and administration and a better understanding of medication pharmacodynamics. Energetic polyphosphazenes constitute a novel class of insensitive binders which potentially outperform conventional carbon-based systems in terms of their energy-densities and glass transition temperatures. To facilitate the calculation of energetic performance for these materials, we report here on the use of bomb calorimetry to determine the standard enthalpies of combustion (ΔcH°) and formation (ΔfH°) of 2,2,2-trifuoroethan-1-oxy-/2,3-dinitratopropan-1-oxy-polyphosphazene (I) as the proportion of (energetic) 2,3-dinitratopropan-1-oxy substituents (% Energetic Substitution, % ES) is varied between 31% and 78%. Similar data is presented for the parent polymer bis(2,2,2-trifuoroethan-1-oxy)-polyphosphazene (II) (% ES = 0). ΔcH° was found to vary between -2275 kJ·mol-11for the parent polymer II (% ES = 0) and -3415 kJ·mol-1 for I with % ES = 78. The corresponding values for ΔfH° were -3184 kJ·mol-1 and -1566 kJ·mol-1. These data indicate that, as expected, the polymer heats of formation become more favourable – with respect to the energetic performance of the polymer – as the percentage of energetic side chain functionalities (% ES) increases.

Recently we completed the very first and detailed perturbed angular correlation investigation on MBE-grown very thin film multilayers. The present paper aims to show that otherwise rather unaccessible but unique information on the (interface) magnetism could be obtained. For the Fe/Cr(1 0 0) multilayer system we observe, below a critical Cr thickness of 5.0 nm, a collapse of the spin-density-wave ordering in chromium. While the magnetization in the Fe-layer is in-plane, the Cr magnetization in thicker layers is out-of-plane. In the Fe/Co (1 -1 0) system, the observation of transferred magnetic hyperfine field satellites and their temperature dependence leads to the determination of an oscillating magnetic moment profile at the Fe/Co interface as well as a structure model for the superlattice.

The contribution examines three types of intelligences (emotional, social and general) in relation to school performance of secondary school students (N=169). Empirical analysis indicated its zero to weak negative correlations (0.01≤R≤0.30) with factors, dimensions and global emotional intelligence measured by the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire-Adolescence Form (TEIQue–AF, Petrides, 2001) and weak negative correlations (0.18≤R≤0.29) with dimensions of social intelligence measured by The Tromso Social Intelligence Scale (TSIS, Silver, et al., 2001). On the other hand, the general intellect assessed by the non–verbal standardized Test of Intellectual Potential (TIP, Říčan, 1971) had a moderately negative relationship with school performance expressed by an average of marks in Mathematics (R=–0.39**).

Opis:
Objective: The objective of this paper is to show the connection between economic openness with economic growth and attempt to answer the following question: Did the accession to EU had any affect on correlation between economic growth and the economic openness? Research Design & Methods: The research method adopted here was a study of correlation among the variables. Program "Statistica" have been used to study this correalation. Economic growth plays the role of a dependent variable and is estimated according to GDP. An economy’s openness is an independent variable and is estimated by the openness factor calculated using this formula: the sum of exports and imports divided by GDP. Findings: Not all research agrees with the idea of the positive influence of openness in the economy on economic growth. In 2004, the former ‘Eastern Bloc’ countries (Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Slovak Republic, Slovenia) joined the European Union, offering an opportunity to study the effects of accession. Implications & Recommendations: The study has been divided into two phases. The first phase examines the relation between the economic growth rate and the openness factor for the 24 countries which were members of the EU in 2004. The results show a positive correlation between the studied variables. Afterwards, each of the eight listed countries were researched concerning two time periods: the first from before their accession to the EU and the second after their accession to the EU. Correlation research does not satisfactorily settle this aspect. In the second phase of the study, a longer time horizon was allowed and the former Eastern Bloc countries were researched again. The results were explicit and credible. A positive and statistically substantial correlation for the researched countries was achieved. Contribution & Value Added: On the basis of the conducted research the following conclusions were drawn. An analysis of the correlation between economic growth and economic openness shows a positive dependency with the following assumptions: the researched group consists of the 24 EU countries in 2004 and the research is done within the 2004-2015 period. The twice-run correlation research for the time periods 1995-2004 and 2004-2015 respectively and for the eight selected countries does not present explicit results. Consequently, it cannot be concluded that accession to the EU has positively influenced the correlation between economic growth and economic openness. The correlation research for 1995-2015 and the eight selected countries do confirm the popularity of the idea of the positive influence of the economic openness on economic growth.

The paper presents experimental data on the impact of the addition of microspheres on the strength and thermal conductivity of building gypsum. An amount of 5%, 10% and 15% by mass of the dry gypsum powder was used. The results obtained show that the use of microspheres significantly reduces the value of the thermal conductivity of gypsum composites. At the same time, the influence of the additive on the strength of the modified plaster on compression and bending was tested. A decrease in the composite's resistance to compressive and bending forces was observed.

Some N-acetyl pyrazoles including 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-yl-ethanones have been synthesised by solvent free cyclization cum acetylation of chalcones including substituted styryl 3,4-dichlorophenyl ketones using hydrazine hydrate and acetic anhydride in presence of catalytic amount of fly-ash: H2SO4 catalyst. The yield of these N-acetyl pyrazole derivatives are more than 75 %. The synthesised N-acetyl pyrazoline derivatives were characterized by their physical constants and spectral data. The infrared spectral νC=N and C=O (cm-1) frequencies, NMR chemical shifts (δ, ppm) of Ha, Hb, Hc, CH3 protons, C=N, C=O and CH3 carbons of 1-(3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-5-(substitutedphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-yl) ethanones have been assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants and Swain-Lupton’s parameters using single and multi-regression analysis. From the results of statistical analyses the effect of substituents on the above group frequencies and chemical shifts of the acetylated pyrazoles were discussed.

The structure of the Tetrahymena thermophila telomeric sequence d(TGGGGT)4 was studied by photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) in aqueous solution in the presence of NaCl, KCl and SrCl2. The sample studied was polydisperse in all conditions studied. Translational diffusion coefficients DT describing the diffusion modes observed were determined. On the basis of a comparison between the experimental DT values with those calculated assuming the bead model, two forms were identified as telomeric quadruplex structures: monomer and tetramer. In the presence of SrCl2 formation of aggregates was observed, with a size that reached several micrometres. The relative weighted concentrations of the structures observed for different concentrations of a salt and DNA were determined. The results obtained in the presence of monovalent ions were qualitatively similar and could be presented in a coherent plot in which the concentration of salt was expressed by the number of ions per DNA molecule. A large number of ions per DNA molecule favoured tetramer formation while a small number favoured the monomer form. A structural phase transition from the monomer to the tetramer induced by a change in the number of ions per DNA molecule was observed. The main difference between the results for Na+ and K+ was a greater effectiveness of the K+ ions in formation of tetramers. The effect of Sr2+ ions on the structures formed was different than that of the monovalent ions. The results obtained in the presence of Sr2+ could not be described as a function of the number of ions per DNA molecule.

In order to overcome the challenge of quantifying the influence of environmental conditions and the coexistence of multiple failure modes involved in mechanism reliability modelling under different environments. In this paper, we propose a method for the analysis of mechanism reliability that takes into account the influence of environmental factors and failure modes’ correlation, quantifies the influence of environmental factors as the random distribution and degradation path of parameters, and derives the Copula description of failure mode correlation from the historical data of environmental experiments. On the basis of the discrete mechanism dynamics model, the output parameters of the characteristic points are calculated, and the failure rate of each failure mode is calculated based on the failure criterion and the performance margin theory. Additionally, the dynamic change pattern of the mechanism reliability is compared with the Kaplan-Meier estimation of the corresponding environmental test history data to assess the validity of the calculation results. The reliability modelling problem of a motion mechanism of an automatic rifle automaton in a high and low temperature environment is applied to the method, and the reliability calculation results are close to those of Kaplan-Meier estimation of the test history data, and all are within the upper and lower bounds given by the reliability boundary theory, demonstrating the method's validity.

Opis:
Previous researches on the prediction of fishing activities mainly rely on the speed over ground (SOG) as the referential attribute to determine whether the vessel is navigating or in fishing operation. Since more and more fishing vessels install Automatic Identification System (AIS) either voluntarily or under regulatory requirement, data collected from AIS in real time provide more attributes than SOG which may be utilized to improve the prediction. To be specific, the ships' trajectory patterns and the changes in course become available and should be considered. This paper aims to improve the accuracy in the identification of fishing activities. First, we do feature extraction from the AIS data of coastal waters around Taiwan and build a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model. Then, the activity data of fishing vessels are divided into fishing and non-fishing. Finally, based on the testing by feeding various fishing activity data, we can identify the fishing status automatically.
