Opis:
The subject matter comprises problems concerning employees’ liability for maintenance of order described in chapter VI of title IV of the Labour code. The article is focused on the changes to which for many years, from the enactment of the Labour code, the aforementioned institution of labour law was subjected. The author discusses the legal character of the regulations concerning that type of liability and premises enabling the employer to charge towards the employee a penalty of admonition, a penalty of serious reprimand and a pecuniary penalty, and focuses primarily on the issues of illegality of employee’s behaviour. The article also includes the mode of imposing penalties, for example, for employee’s failure to observe the established organization and order in the working process, the work safety and hygiene regulations, fire protection regulations, drinking alcohol during working hours and instruments serving to revoke them.
Przedmiotem rozważań są problemy dotyczące odpowiedzialności porządkowej przewidzianej w rozdziale VI działu IV Kodeksu pracy. W artykule skoncentrowano się na zmianach, którym na przestrzeni lat, począwszy od dnia wejścia w życie Kodeksu pracy, poddawano tę instytucję prawa pracy. Omówiono charakter prawny przepisów regulujących odpowiedzialność porządkową oraz przesłanki umożliwiające stosowanie wobec pracownika kary upomnienia, nagany oraz kary pieniężnej, zwracając w szczególności uwagę na kwestię bezprawności zachowania pracownika. Przedstawiono także tryb wymierzania kar stosowanych, np. za nieprzestrzeganie przez pracownika ustalonej organizacji i porządku w procesie pracy, przepisów bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy, przepisów przeciwpożarowych, spożywanie alkoholu w czasie pracy oraz instrumenty służące ich uchyleniu.

Współczesny Kościół, aby był skuteczny w obszarze wychowania, musi podjąć określone wyzwania. Pierwszym jest utrzymanie i rozwijanie świadomości w rodzicach, że są pierwszymi wychowawcami swoich dzieci. Dzisiaj bowiem dość często zwalniają się z religijnego wychowania potomstwa. Tymczasem to rodzina jest domowym Kościołem, który dba o rozwój swoich członków. Innym wyzwaniem jest odbudowa katechezy dorosłych. Nie ma takiej katechezy w Polsce. Istnieje natomiast ścisły związek między katechezą rodziców a skutecznym wychowaniem młodego pokolenia. Należy także zadbać, aby rozwijała się katecheza parafialna. Jest ona podstawową drogą wychowania chrześcijańskiego. Nie zastąpi tej katechezy nauczanie religii w szkole, które nie jest do końca katechezą. Nie przyniosła ona w Polsce religijnego ożywienia uczniów. Ważnym wyzwaniem jest również obecność w świecie mediów. Młodzi ludzie traktują świat mediów jako własną przestrzeń życia, która jednak rodzi problemy alienacji z rzeczywistego życia, uzależnienia, chaos informacyjny powodujący niezdolność do wyboru pozytywnych wartości.
The contemporary Church, in order to be effective in the area of education, must take up specific challenges. The first one is to establish and develop parents’ awareness that they are the earliest educators of their children. It is noticed that they quite often discharge themselves from providing religious education for their offspring. Whereas, a family is the Church that looks after the growth of its members. Another challenge is to renew the adult catechesis which does not exist in Poland. There is a close relationship between catechesis of parents and effective education of young people. It is also importat to develop parish catechesis as it is a primary path of Christian education. Such catechesis cannot be replaced by Religious Education at schools, as it is not the proper catechesis. Religious Education has little impact on religious revival of pupils in Poland. Needless to say, resence in the media has a very important role. Young people treat the media as their own living space which, nonetheless, can cause problems of alienation, addiction or chaos information leading to the inability to choose positive values.

The article attempts to analyse and interpret the man’s behaviour (actions) in different situations of threat and in different historical epochs. These are behaviours which can be described as heroic, courageous, valorous and dauntless, aimed at defending other people and bringing help at the risk of endangering one’s own life and health. The analysis covered the helpful behaviour of the Good Samaritan and David’s defensive combat from the Biblical period and, from the contemporary times, a certain priest’s behaviour during the black smallpox epidemic in Wroclaw and Antoni Zdrojewski’s defensive combat during the Second World War.

The starting point of the reflection is the work of Karen Horney who published a monograph entitled The Neurotic Personality of our times in the 1937. In my research I recall social phenomena well known nowadays in Poland, such as: a decline in fertility, the decreasing number of marriages, the increase in number of divorces, domestic violence, the corrosion of authority, escape from the aging process and many more. From my point of view, as from a clinical psychologist’s view, based on the single case studies collected together with past year’s graduates, I am trying to answer some selected questions. The general way to answer all these questions would be: these people do not undertake developmental tasks which are proper for their age group, gender or life situation. We can say about these people that they don’t undertake responsibility for themselves and others. They show a way of thinking and reacting specific for an infantile personality. However, the main question I am trying to answer in my lecture is: why the infantile personality is so characteristic for our times and what is its relation to social life conditions.

Healthcare policies for people with developmental disabilities (PWDD) in both the United States of America and the Republic of Poland have evolved from socially conservative to liberal philosophies. One area that illustrates this process is the rise and fall of institutionalization. During the 18th and 19th Centuries, American families with PWDD were encouraged to relinquish the identified family member to state-run institutions, as early as diagnoses were made, in order to reduce burdens on the family and society. The charity model as understood in Judeo-Christian tradition in which sacrifice was emphasized and Greco-Roman tradition which advocated for more intelligent men to rule over others for the greater good of all will be explored. Industrialization, World War II (WWII) and the American Civil Rights Movement of the 20th Century all prompted new policies toward care for PWDD. Since the Civil Rights Movement, census numbers at state-run institutions for PWDD have been declining regularly. This movement finds validation in the liberalism of modern American philosophers. Poland has followed a similar path in a general, yet truncated way. As a Soviet satellite following WWII, Poland was compelled to adopt Soviet Union traditions toward PWDD. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1989, Poland established policies enshrined in American and European law, such as person-centered care for PWDD. Both countries have dedicated national funds for supporting PWDD, such as America’s Medicaid and Poland’s National Disability Fund. As Poland and the United States continue to integrate services into more inclusive societies, national healthcare initiatives remain viable based on comparative studies. Quality of life indicators are offered in support of this deinstitutionalized, person-centered model.

The self-creation of modern youth in the world of permanent change is closely related to the existing socio-cultural conditions and the psychosocial condition resulting from the experienced developmental stage. The changeability and relativity of the reality in which young people exist affects the process of searching for their “I”, which becomes more and more undefined, requiring constant updating, and changing. Therefore, it becomes necessary to undertake analyses of identity formation as the main developmental task of the youth period, with particular emphasis on the current socio-cultural reality, which is not insignificant for this process. The article presents the results of scientific research on the subjective aspect of the sense of identity of contemporary high school youth (out of the general population the author selected a population of 439 students of secondary schools, aged 15-19, located in the territory of the Wielkopolskie [Greater Poland] Voivodeship in Poland, random selection) measured by the TST (Twenty Statements Test). The presented results of research on the subjective aspect of the sense of identity of secondary school youth reveal an image of this age group as one that is still searching for its own identity core, and undergoing the process of implementation of developmental tasks belonging to the stage of adolescence. The analyses of the research results show the specificity of the process of shaping identity by young people in modern conditions. This issue is the main goal of the research presented in the article.

W artykule dokonano analizy interakcji – niezwykle złożonej i bezprecedensowej – niematerialnej (kulturowej) na historycznym Szlaku Jedwabnym. Ta właśnie płaszczyzna interakcji inspiruje również współczesne działania związane z Inicjatywą Pasa i Szlaku. Szczególnie ważny dla autora jest fakt, iż mechanizm ekonomiczny, będący siłą napędową historycznego Szlaku, stał się zaproponowaną – niejako alternatywną dla historii tradycyjnej – ścieżką rozwoju ludzkości, w której tradycja, wynikająca z kultu przemocy, stanowiła w istocie nieprzerwany ciąg wojen i podbojów. Kreśląc główne elementy, ogłoszonej przez Prezydenta Xi Jinpinga w 2013 r., Inicjatywy Pasa i Szlaku, zestawiono profil współczesnego projektu z bezprecedensowymi osiągnięciami jego historycznego odpowiednika i postawiono pytania o – między innymi – najważniejsze lekcje z przeszłości, wnioski oraz o inspiracje z tym związane. Współczesnym Chinom zależy na tym, aby ich dotychczasowy sukces w dziedzinie produkcji i handlu w dobie postępującej globalizacji został teraz przypieczętowany projektem Pasa i Szlaku tworzącym nową infrastrukturę transportu i handlu w skali świata. W perspektywie mogłoby to nawet stworzyć podstawy nowego ładu globalnego, który – paradoksalnie – mógłby zawierać określone korekty w stosunku do tego porządku, który otworzył drogę na sam szczyt właśnie Chinom.
In his paper, the author analyses a complex non-material (cultural) interaction on the historic Silk Road that appears to be very complex and unprecedented. To the impressive material exchange, based mainly on trade, the Silk Road inspires the today’s Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. Especially important for the author is the fact that the economic mechanism of trade, which was the main driving force of the ancient trade route, has potentially become the proposed, alternative development path for humanity, where tradition, resulting from the cult of violence, was in fact a virtually uninterrupted string of wars and conquests. The outlining of main elements of the Initiative, announced by President Xi Jinping in 2013, is used by the author to compare the profile of this modern project with the unprecedented historical achievements of its historic predecessor. The questions are asked about - among other things - the most important lessons from the past, conclusions and inspirations for the modern initiative. Contemporary China would like to seal its to-date globalisation success in the field of production and trade with the gigantic project of Belt and Road with the aim to create a new infrastructure for transportation and trade on the truly global scale. In the long run, this could even lay the groundwork for the new world order, which – paradoxically - could contain certain adjustments to the order conceived by the West, which has opened the way to the top for China.

Witnesses to a bygone age, façades are evidence of past life. Interpretation of traces, and particularly colours, aids to recognize old tastes and moods. This paper reviews ornamentation methods used for the outerwalls of buildings in Krakow from the city foundation (1257) until the 1950s. The first part of the paper presents evidence to corroborate a theory that, in spite of a common misconception, medieval façades were not left in their raw condition but plastered. Obviously, plaster did not recall its modern clear and even equivalent, but was greyish and bumpy. Usually this plaster received a multicolour painted finish. Surprisingly for our contemporaries, stone details such as window and door stone work were also painted, the practice being common until the end of the 18th century. Ornamentation methods varied throughout the ages, though rich colouring was popular and characteristic for Gothic, Renessaince, Baroque and Classicism. Dimmed colours as seen in the second half of the 19th century were only occasional in fact. The older the building, the more plaster and painted layers it would receive. Learning about this layering takes us through the history of the building.

Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) was a terrorist organization fighting for the independence of the Basque Country from under the rule of Spain. It was created in 1959 by members of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV). The terrorist attacks carried out by it were directed against the representatives of the authorities and law enforcement officers, but many civilians were also killed as a result of armed conflicts. The organization’s activity was financed mainly from extortion money, which was collected from entrepreneurs under the threat of death. Acts of violence have become everyday life for Spanish citizens. For this reason, the initially supported organization began to arouse reluctance and induce waves of protests against the methods it used. The Spanish government tried to negotiate and sign the ceasefire with the organization, however, it proved ineffective. The organization has repeatedly announced the suspension of fighting, and then carried out subsequent acts of terror. In 2011, ETA announced the end of military activity, and in 2017 its members finally gave up their arms. Most of the organization’s activists are currently in jail. ETA has killed 829 people since its inception.
Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) była organizacją terrorystyczną walczącą o niepodległość Kraju Basków spod rządów Hiszpanii. Została utworzona w 1959 r. przez członków Baskijskiej Partii Narodowościowej (PNV). Przeprowadzane przez nią zamachy terrorystyczne wymierzano przeciwko przedstawicielom władzy oraz stróżom prawa, jednak w wyniku walk zbrojnych zginęło także wielu cywilów. Działalność organizacji była finansowana głównie z haraczy, które pobierano od przedsiębiorców pod groźbą śmierci. Akty przemocy stały się codziennością dla obywateli Hiszpanii. Z tego powodu, popierana początkowo organizacja zaczęła budzić niechęć i wywoływać fale protestów przeciwko metodom, jakie stosowała. Rząd Hiszpanii podejmował próby negocjacji oraz podpisania rozejmu z organizacją, jednak okazywały się one nieskuteczne. Organizacja wielokrotnie ogłaszała zawieszenie walk, po czym dokonywała kolejnych aktów terroru. W 2011 r. ETA ogłosiła zakończenie działalności zbrojnej, a w 2017 r. jej członkowie ostatecznie oddali broń. Większość działaczy organizacji przebywa obecnie w więzieniach. Od początku swojej działalności ETA zabiła 829 osób.

The aim of this article is a conceptual analysis of labour migration policies in the European Union and their implementation in the EU member-states and the Republic of Moldova during contemporary times. The paper outlines the current trends of labour migration in both the European Union and in the Republic of Moldova; analyzes the genesis and essence of migration policies within the EU in the modern period; identifies the underlying problems of integration faced by Moldovan labour migrants in the hosting societies; and investigates issues related to the repatriation and reintegration of Moldovan labourers from the EU to their home country.

Społeczeństwo nowoczesne wraz z rozwojem technologii medycznych i innowacjami naukowymi przyczynia się do poprawy jakości życia i zdrowia ludności oraz wydłużenia długości życia. Wiele schorzeń, niegdyś uznawanych za nieuleczalne dziś z powodzeniem można wy-leczyć. Jednak towarzyszy tym pozytywnym aspektom zjawisko medykalizacji umierania i śmierci, które zostają schowane w szpitalu, gdzie rodzina nie zawsze towarzyszy choremu w tych ostatnich chwilach. Społeczeństwo ponowoczesne przynosi nowe dwie alternatywy umie-rania: hospicja i eutanazję.
The modern society contributes to improve people’s quality of living and of health as well as to increase their life span by developing medical technology and science innovations. Many illnesses once considered incurable are successfully treated today. However, these positive as-pects are accompanied by the phenomenon of the medicalization of death and dying. These are concealed in hospitals where families are not always with their patients in the last moments of their lives. The post-modern society provides two new alternatives to die – hospices and eutha-nasia.

Autor opisuje historię badań nad widownią filmową w krajach zachodniego kręgu kulturowego – od prac naukowych powstałych w okresie kina niemego, przez badania podejmowane na zlecenie Hollywood przez Gallupa, paradygmat „oddziaływań i wpływu” w badaniach nad teorią komunikowania, przełom semiotyczno-poststrukturalny, aż po współczesne opracowania inspirowane tzw. nową historią kina. Odrębnie zostały przedstawione polskie badania nad publicznością filmową, początkowo prowadzone przez pedagogów, następnie – socjologów, wreszcie – kulturoznawców i filmoznawców.
The author describes the history of research on film audiences in the Western cultural sphere – from scientific works created during the silent film era, through studies undertaken on behalf of Hollywood by Gallup, the paradigm of “impact and influence” in the research on the theory of communication, the semiotic-poststructural breakthrough, up to modern works inspired by the so called New Film History. Polish research on film audience are presented separately. It was first carried out by pedagogues, then – sociologists, finally – cultural studies and film scholars.

Rzeczywistość, w której funkcjonujemy, zmienia się nieustannie. Dzięki postępowi technologicznemu nasz rozwój i dostęp do wiedzy jest niemal nieograniczony. Coś, co jeszcze kilka dekad temu było zarezerwowane jedynie dla wąskiej grupy społeczeństwa, teraz jest na wyciągnięcie ręki dla przeciętnego mieszkańca naszego globu. Jednak tak szeroki dostęp do informacji, który niegdyś był tylko w zasięgu jednostek i organizacji świadomych ich wagi, rodzi liczne zagrożenia w sposobie i formie ich przekazywania. Innymi słowy swobodny dostęp do informacji, ich szybki przyrost oraz niedostateczna kontrola ich obiegu są przyczyną powstawania wielu zagrożeń, przed którymi coraz trudniej jest nam się ochronić. Nie sposób wskazać jednej przyczyny takiego stanu rzeczy, problem jest złożony, gdyż informacja jest bezpośrednio powiązana z interesami państw i życiem ich obywateli. Wystarczy wskazać na takie obszary jak: sektor energetyczny, administracja państwowa, obronność czy media, aby uzyskać przekonanie, że przedmiot zagadnienia jest szeroki, a granice obszarów, z którymi jest on powiązany, w znacznym stopniu przenikają się i w pełni uprawnione jest założenie, że zjawisko to potęguje. Zgromadzony przez autorkę materiał stanowi odpowiedź na pytanie: jaką rolę pełni informacja we współczesnym świecie? Zważywszy na różnorodne definicje związane z tematem niniejszego artykułu w pierwszej części przeanalizowano podstawowe pojęcia i terminy, w oparciu o które kolejno zaprezentowano jej właściwości. Praca swym zakresem obejmuje klasyfikację funkcji informacji oraz przedstawia główne uwarunkowania jej wykorzystania przez człowieka jako jednostkę oraz w zorganizowanych grupach. W ostatniej części wskazano kierunki rozwoju i potrzeby doskonalenia systemu informacyjnego.
The reality in which we operate is constantly changing. Through technological progress, our development and access to knowledge is almost unlimited. Something that a few decades ago was reserved only for a small group of society, is now at hand for the average inhabitant of our globe. However, such a wide access to information, which was once only within the reach of individuals and organizations aware of its importance, creates numerous threats in the manner and form of its transmission. In other words, free access to information, its rapid growth and insufficient control of its circulation contribute to the emergence of threats that are becoming more and more difficult to keep up with. It is impossible to indicate one reason for such a state of affairs, as the problem is highly complex, because information is directly related to the interests of states and the lives of their citizens. It is enough to point here to such areas as: the energy sector, state administration, the defence or the media to realise that the question that underlies the issue is extremely broad – the boundaries of the areas with which it is related to a large extent overlap and it is fully justified to assume that it is a progressing phenomenon. The material collected by the author is an answer to the question about the role of information in the contemporary world. Considering the variety of definitions related to the subject, the first part of the article makes a review of the basic concepts and terms on the basis of which the properties of information are presented. The scope of the work covers the classification of functions of information and presents the main conditions for its use by humans as individuals and in organized groups. The last part designates directions for further development and the need to improve the information system.

W opracowaniu podjęto próbę systematyzacji wiodących przekształceń zachodzących we współczesności w przestrzeni cmentarzy wyznaniowych znajdujących się na terenie Polski. Cezurę czasową analiz ograniczono do okresu trwającego od zakończenia drugiej wojny światowej do chwili obecnej. Wyróżniono cztery zasadnicze rodzaje przekształceń podzielone na dwa główne kierunki przemian zachodzących w czasie: harmonijną ekspresję temporalną (zastój/zanik; kontynuację) oraz dysharmonijną ekspresję temporalną (desakralizacja; resakralizacja i komemoracja). Każdy rodzaj przekształceń został omówiony osobno na wybranych przykładach. Należy jednak podkreślić, że zaproponowany podział nie ma charakteru rozłącznego, gdyż biorąc pod uwagę mnogość czynników determinujących zmiany struktur materialnych cmentarzy, niekiedy procesy zachodzą równolegle lub zazębiają się w czasie.
The study attempts to systematize the leading transformations observed nowadays in denominational cemeteries located in Poland. The time frame of the analyses was limited to the period from the end of the Second World War to the present. Four basic types of transformations have been distinguished and divided into two main directions of changes reported over time, namely: harmonious temporal expression (stagnation/decline, continuation) and disharmonious temporal expression (desacralisation, resacralisation and commemoration). Each type of transformation is discussed separately based on selected examples. However, it needs to be emphasised that the proposed division is not disjunctive as considering the multitude of factors that determine changes in the material structures of cemeteries, processes sometimes run parallel to each other or overlap in time.

W nawiązaniu do najnowszych badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w Anglii, Francji i Niemczech pokazuje skalę zjawiska. Wymusza ono działania ze strony polityki i systemów oświatowych. Międzynarodowe gremia ekspertów pracują nad kwestiami terminologicznymi. Pojawiają się również nowe koncepcje pracy alfabetyzacyjnej, które podkreślają aspekty psycholingwistyczne i społeczny wymiar piśmienności. Piśmienność jest w nich rozumiana jako praktyka społeczna, na której kształt wpływ wywierają przede wszystkim środowisko życia człowieka, jego biografia, wykształcenie, potrzeby i aspiracje. Z pewnością piśmienność nie ogranicza się do techniki opanowania pisma.

Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania wybranych strategii dydaktycznych związanych z wprowadzaniem uczniów w świata wartości, których nośnikiem są omawiane na lekcjach języka polskiego lektury. Problem ten został omówiony na przykładzie powieści fantasy J.R.R. Tolkiena Hobbit, czyli tam i z powrotem. Badania nad recepcją tej książki w Polsce przez współczesnych nastolatków oraz moje doświadczenie związane z omawianą problematyką stały się motywacją do opisania kilku – jak sądzę ciekawych – strategii postępowania z tą lekturą w edukacji polonistycznej w ujęciu aksjologicznym.
The purpose of this article is an attempt to show what role required reading can play as a carrier of values in the literacy and cultural education of teenagers. This problem will be discussed on the example of fantasy novel The Hobbit or There and Back Again by J.R.R. Tolkien. Research on the reception of this book in Poland by contemporary teenagers and my experience with the discussed issues have motivated me to describe a few – interesting in my opinion – strategies for dealing with this novel in Polish language education in axiological terms.

The article is an attempt to show the most important questions concerningthe use of catechism in contemporary catechesis. Special attention isfocused on the necessity of catechism in religious education, but the authoralso describes the difficulties related to the teaching of this catechism. Thistheme is first analyzed in the light of history and catechetical documents.The first part of the reflection is a historical review of catechism containedin catechesis. In the second part the author analyzes the most important documents for catechesis and searches in them contents about the problemof catechism in catechesis: the General Catechetical Directory of 1971, theApostolic Exhortation Catechesi tradendae of 1979, the General Directoryfor Catechesis of 1997 and the Directory for Catechesis of the CatholicChurch in Poland of 2001. In the third part one finds the analyses of themost important problems concerning the use of catechism in the practiceof catechesis. The following challenges of the new evangelization are pointedout: a crisis of the faith and a problem concerning the knowledge ofChristian doctrine, tension between the knowledge of faith and the attitudeof faith, and refusal to memorize the catechism formulas.

Throughout its history, Finland's relations with Russia have generally been determined by Russian attempts to secure control over the eastern part of the Baltic Sea region. In medieval times, it was mainly about the control of trade routes, especially between Novgorod, and Western Europe and Byzantium. After the founding of the new city of St. Petersburg by Peter the Great in 1703, the rulers of Russia were faced with the problem of ensuring security to that city. From a Russian point of view, it became vitally important to gain control over lands on the eastern side of the Baltic Sea. When Finland became a Russian province in 1809, it seemed that the Baltic security dilemmas of Russia had finally been resolved. However, the collapse of Tsarist Russia in 1917 changed that particular situation. Finland became independent, and Russia's border moved east to the outskirts of St. Petersburg (renamed Petrograd during World War I). For the leaders of the Soviet Union, which had replaced the Romanov Empire, World War II provided an opportunity to try to regain lost Finnish territories. Although the Red Army did not manage to conquer Finland, during two wars (occurring between 1939-1940 and 1941-1944), the post war settlement saw the Soviet-Finnish border shift back westwards. Finland also had to reckon with the requirements of the USSR's security policy and make it a priority of its own foreign policy.

Podjęte badania komparatystyczne dotyczą repertuaru pieśni adwentowych i kolęd zawartego w dwóch wybranych śpiewnikach. W ciągu niemal 200 lat dokonano w pieśniach wielu zmian tekstowych. Obejmują one zmianę szyku, wymianę wielu słów na inne, zastępowanie nowym brzmieniem całych zwrotów i wersów oraz korekty w liczbie zwrotek. Zauważa się przede wszystkim tendencje do uwspółcześniania tekstów dawnych i redukcję strof. Zachodzące procesy nie są wynikiem naturalnej ewolucji języka, ale rezultatem ingerencji pojedynczych osób. Z wieloma skutkami zaistniałych interwencji trudno się zgodzić. Skalę przeobrażeń wybranej grupy pieśni i wiążące wnioski można będzie w sposób pełniejszy określić dopiero po przeprowadzeniu studiów porównawczych dotyczących melodyki i rytmiki pieśni.
The comparative research undertaken concerns the repertoire of Advent songs and Christmas carols contained in two selected songbooks. Over the course of almost 200 years many textual changes have been made to the songs. These include changing the order, exchanging many words for others, replacing whole phrases and verses with new wording, and corrections in the number of stanzas. The tendency to modernise old texts and to reduce stanza is particularly noticeable. These processes are not the result of the natural evolution of language, but the result of the intervention of individuals. It is difficult to agree with many of the consequences of these interventions. The scale of transformation of the selected song group and the conclusions can only be more fully determined after a comparative study of the melody and rhythm of the songs.
