Opis:
Understanding the activity of the minds of consumers is one of the main questions tried to be solved by many scientists in the field of consumer research. Still studies are often based on tests of self-assessment, observation, often ignoring the unconscious behavior of consumers. Often the decision-making processes largely occur on a subconscious level . (G. Zaltmann, 2003) Moreover, only 5% of knowledge is conscious knowledge. Unconscious processes, allow users faster and more efficient decisions than would be possible with a fully conscious processing of the stimulus. The financial services market is one of the most important elements of a market economy. In addition, the financial services market undergoes dynamic changes and at the same time there are no studies of the actual attitudes of consumers (both conscious and hidden) in relation to a virtual financial services, in particular in respect of the banking services market, which is one of the fastest growing high-tech service markets. After secondary sources analysis, projection methods research was made. For the purposes of research, special test was prepared including projection techniques like association expression and supplement tests. This method enabled preliminary identification of hidden and conscious consumer attitudes towards virtual banking services and to introduce first conclusions for further research.

Opis:
An understanding over potential consumers' openness and need for a product, as well as their reservations and expectations, is essential for launching a new product, 'clean meat' not being an exception. Research has been conducted in terms of attitudes, perception, and reservations, but most often in forms of analysing declarations rather than actual observations of consumer behaviour. The aim of the study was to assess consumer attitudes towards 'clean meat', in particular acceptance, perception, barriers, and factors influencing attitudes towards 'clean meat'. The study was voluntary, conducted using online survey and addressed to respondents up to the age of 55 years. The research sample consisted of 418 respondents, representing a diversified sociodemographic profile. The results of the survey showed that for many respondents meat was an important part of their diet and eaten frequently. A majority of the respondents were not aware of the meaning of the expression 'clean meat', though after a brief introduction to the product, a majority expressed being open to trying it. Availability, taste, and higher price were identified as the biggest barriers against trying 'clean meat', and potential of the invention, interest aroused, and its perceived benefit for the environment were the qualities most associated with this invention.

Presented results of research concerning e-consumers' opinions on the subject of group buying let us achieve the cognitive purpose of the paper and verify research research assumption. However, direct studies performed with the method of on-line questionnaire qualify the author to state that selected research technique is appropriate to analyse e-consumers' opinions on the subject of group buying services. This is proved by effectiveness of the technique (reflexivity of 74%) and plentiful research material of both quantitative and qualitative character. Results of studies are valuable in terms of application because they can serve improvement of the quality of provided services, and identified weaknesses of group buying services can be used to improve effectiveness of operation of group buying services.

Opis:
Consumers’ attitudes are determined by many factors, one of which is a product brand. The objective of the paper is to present young consumers’ attitudes towards mobile phone brands. The ABC model of attitudes is the theoretical framework for the study. The research method was a paper-and-pencil survey (PAPI) on the sample of 250 respondents aged 18–25. The research showed that it is just the name of the brand that can affect consumers’ attitudes. It is a derivative of associations with the brands. The value of the attitude components is differentiated by brands. The affective component appeared to be the most important and the cognitive component – the least important. The findings show that gender and brand of respondents’ mobile phones also differentiate the importance of components of young consumers’ attitudes on the mobile phone market. Limitations and recommendations for further research are presented as well.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present consumer attitudes in Poland in respect of modern solutions in the retail trade and the influence which these attitudes have on their behaviour in the market. The considerations were conducted using methods of logical inference, based on a critical analysis of available derivative sources and conclusions from quantitative research conducted on a sample of 1.075 consumers. In order to analyse more deeply the research results a cluster analysis was conducted using one of the hierarchical methods – the Ward’s method. Respondents’ attitudes towards modern solutions in the retail trade are generally positive. However they are not always recognized by them. A large percentage of respondents declared that they are not acquainted with particular forms of modern retail trade (mostly Beacon, PSS or RIFID systems). They were mostly consumers from the ‘retreated skeptics’ group, in other words the elderly with basic or vocational education from small towns and villages. The research findings presented may be used by trade enterprises in order to answer to the identified need of consumers from generation Z and to set out the direction of the technological education of consumers and increase the availability of particularised solutions.

Opis:
Postawy to jeden z najważniejszych obszarów badań w psychologii.
The psychology of attitudes is the one of the most important area in psychology. The attitudes influence the consumers’ decisions, so the knowledge about the origins, structure and the possibilities of attitudes’ change is very significant for marketing. As a consequence of many years of studies on attitudes the understanding of attitude concept has changed a lot. In the classic approaches attitude was stable, onedimensional (positive or negative) and conscious. Moreover, attitude was also treated as good predictor of the behavior. The contemporary approaches assume that attitudes can be ambivalent (positive and negative at the same time), and the person is not always conscious of attitude’s origins and even the attitude as such (implicit attitude). It is also known that the connection between the attitude and the behavior is more complicated that it was assumed before.

Opis:
The article is aimed at diagnosing the innovativeness of Polish senior consumers (aged 65 and over). The starting point of the analysis is a short description of the elderly population. It is followed by the issues like: the interest of seniors in innovative goods and services as well as their knowledge of the problem, their inclination to purchase innovation and the related motives and barriers. There is also a discussion of the sources of information on the selected categories of innovative goods and services. The summary presents the segmentation of Polish consumers with regard to their attitudes to innovation and the share of senior consumers in every segment as well as a general assessment of senior consumer innovativeness. The article makes use of the empirical research conducted in 2014 within the Institute for Market, Consumption and Business Cycles Research project entitled “Consumption in an Innovative Economy”.
„Konsumpcja w innowacyjnej gospodarce”.

Opis:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the consumers’ attitudes towards selected ethnic cuisines. Accordingly, a quantitative assessment (based on a survey questionnaire) and a qualitative assessment (FGI) were carried out. The quantitative assessment was conducted with 500 respondents selected using quota-sampling, taking their gender and age into consideration. This allowed to determine the frequency of eating selected ethnic cuisines (Japanese, Chinese, Mexican and American), hear the respondents’ opinions on the characteristics of specific cuisines, and develop the profiles of consumers moderately or strongly interested in the consumption of the relevant products (referred to as “light users” and “heavy users”). In 2016, focus group interviews were conducted with the two consumer groups (2 interviews for each cuisine). As a result, the interviews provided information about the respondents’ motivation to eat ethnic food, their views on the market offering and sources of information about this type of products. Also, it enabled outlining the image of ethnic meal eaters. As shown by this study, Polish consumers differ in their interest in ethnic food which is driven by product availability, moderate prices and access to information. Also, differences were discovered in their attitudes towards specific cuisines, depending on the demographic, economic and social characteristics of the respondents.

Purpose: Interest in older consumers as the subject of marketing strategy is growing in Western countries (Gunter, 1998). However, in Poland, this group is still neglected by marketers and perceived in stereotypical way, and its marketing potential is underestimated. The main goal of this research was to provide understanding of the contemporary older Polish population and especially older Polish consumers, including their values, needs, attitudes, opinions and behaviors. Methodology: In order to investigate the Polish “grey market,” we conducted survey research (CAPI) based on a representative quota – a random nationwide sample of n=1500 participants above 55 years old. Additionally, we also conducted qualitative research – 18 individual in-depth interviews (IDIs) at homes of consumers (ethnographic interviews). Findings: Based on the factor and cluster analysis (Weinstein, 1994) from the quantitative survey, 5 segments of older Polish consumers were selected: Fulfilled Optimists (14% of population), Bored with Life (17%), Passive Materialists (22%), Family-oriented Non-materialists (22%), and Excluded Traditionalists (25%). Segments differed in values, lifestyles, attitudes toward life, family, work and general life satisfaction. As a consequence of those psychological differences, segments differed in consumer behaviour, preferences and perception of marketing communication (advertising). Originality/Value: Our analysis shows that key areas, which determine particular consumer behaviour in each segment are – contrary to common belief – not demographic characteristics, but mainly psychological aspects (such as attitude to life, optimism, attitude to money, open-mindedness and general curiosity).

The main objective of this paper is to identify consumers’ behavior on the market by obtaining an opinion on the preferences in the choice of the shop as a place of purchase, the reasons for consumers to make purchases in retail chains and grocery stores, the factors affecting the choice of location as well as shopping areas which retail chains and grocery stores do not meet their expectations. The report contains the results of the conducted survey. The research concerned Lubuskie Voivodeship. The research sample was selected at random according to the age bracket. The minimum sample size for the study was set at 412 consumers. The total number of consumers was 531. The survey representativeness for Lubuskie Voivodeship has been statistically confirmed. The emergence of commercial networks influenced the changes in consumer behaviour, in terms of where and how purchases are made. The studies show that most respondents make purchases in trade networks because of the economic benefits: saving money and time. Commercial networks attract primarily customers with low prices and a wide range of goods. Grocery stores, however, located near the place of residence are rated as less cost-competitive, but customers of these shops notice other advantages in comparison with commercial networks.
