The consecrated life is the following of Jesus Christ through a life of chastity, poverty and obedience. It was born in the Christian east of the undivided Church. From there it was transferred to the Christian west and took various forms. They were rejected by the Reformation. This state survived until the twentieth century. That can be called a kind of renaissance of consecrated life in the Protestant churches. The resulting monastic communities also open to other Christian denominations. The consecrated life filled with constant prayer leading to personal conversion and spousal union with Christ, which are considered the foundation of the ecumenical movement and its purpose.

Kryzys życia konsekrowanego łączy się ściśle z kryzysem współczesnego człowieka oraz kryzysem Kościoła. Osłabienie wiary i wierności wybranemu powołaniu skutkuje brakiem świadectwa i w jakiejś mierze wpływa również na spadek liczby powołań. Zarówno słowo Boże, jak też współczesne nauczanie Magisterium Kościoła dają jednak wskazówki, które mogą stać się źródłem odnowy życia zakonnego. To niesie nadzieję, że zakonnicy ponownie staną się wyraźnym znakiem obecności Boga w świecie.
The crisis of the consecrated life is tightly connected with the crisis of the contemporary human being and with the crisis of the Church. Weakening of the faith and lack of faithfulness to the chosen calling results with lack of witnessing and consequently with lower number of vocations. Both the Word of God and the modern teaching of the Magisterium of the Church give clues, which could become the source of the renewal of the consecrated life. It gives hope that the religious again will become a clear sign of the presence of God in the world.

Their content was part of the formation and pedagogical context of ongoing Year of Consecrated Life and the scientific conferences taking up the issue organized in the universal Church. Published in English they are promoting Polish theological thought, which can be of use in a broader research area.

Opis:
Consecrated persons are to point the way to God and to bear witness by their own life to the existence of eternal life. For that reason such persons can-not allow their interior life to lose its supernatural dimension. Yet this is the kind of loss which takes place when spiritual progress is turned into a psycho-logical quest. Such is the consequence of moving the formational process in religious life from virtues to feelings. It causes the candidate to religious life to develop a relativistic worldview, with the end result being the further protestantization of Catholicism as a move toward a horizontal faith based on feeling and subjective experience of the faith. Only a return to virtues in an evangelical life immersed in the Beatitudes can lead to the revitalization of religious life and the increase of its attractiveness. A return to virtues will equip the consecrated person with the tools needed to face all trials and tribulations.

Tajemnica życia całkowicie poświęconego Bogu przekracza zdolność rozumienia i pojmowania opartą jedynie na logice czysto ludzkiej. Życie konsekrowane stanowi świadectwo wyboru racjonalności otwartej na transcendencję, dającej prymat stwórczemu Rozumowi i stawiającej w centrum tajemnicę Logosu Wcielonego. Osoba zakonna żyje radami ewangelicznymi, które są zrozumiałe jedynie w świetle wiary i tylko według logiki Ewangelii. Praktyka czystości, ubóstwa i posłuszeństwa znajduje się w widocznej opozycji do niektórych współczesnych kryteriów racjonalności. Życie konsekrowane jest wobec tego drogą poszerzania przestrzeni racjonalności.
The article presents the issue of rationality of the consecrated life according to the teaching of Benedict XVI. The mystery of a life totally devoted to God surpasses the ability of understanding and comprehension based on nothing but the human logic. Consecrated life is a testimony of the choice of rationality open to transcendence – this choice gives the primacy to the creative Reason and has the mystery of the incarnate Logos in its centre. A consecrated person lives according to the evangelical counsels which are understandable only in the light of faith and only according to the evangelical logic. The practice of chastity, poverty and obedience is in visible opposition to some contemporary criteria of rationality. Consecrated life is the way to enlarge the area of rationality.

Autor w swoim opracowaniu, biorąc pod uwagę problemy, jakich doświadcza obecnie człowiek, poszukuje odpowiedzi na pytanie: jak ma wyglądać współczesne życie konsekrowane, jakim wyzwaniom musi ono dzisiaj sprostać? Czego oczekuje się dzisiaj od osób konsekrowanych, jakiego świadectwa? W związku z tym, najpierw wskazuje podstawy teologiczne wspólnoty zakonnej, podkreślając, że jest ona darem Bożym, a zarazem tajemnicą zakorzenioną w sercu Trójcy Świętej, następnie omawia jej wymiar charyzmatyczny. Zdaniem autora zasadniczym elementem życia konsekrowanego jest wierność wobec własnej konsekracji według charyzmatu. Wśród współczesnych wyzwań na pierwszym miejscu podkreśla on wyzwania wynikające z rad ewangelicznych, a następnie poddaje analizie inne znaki czasu, które są wyzwaniem dla osób konsekrowanych. Po przeprowadzonych analizach autor podkreśla, że najistotniejszym elementem odpowiedzi na postawione pytanie badawcze pozostaje osobiste i wspólnotowe świadectwo życia osób konsekrowanych. Ich życie objawia światu prawdziwe oblicze miłości Boga i Kościoła, ale nigdy go nie wyczerpuje. Dokumenty Stolicy Apostolskiej umieszczają życie konsekrowane w centrum działalności Kościoła, tym samym wyznaczają mu doniosłe zadanie, by było widocznym znakiem obecności Boga w świecie. Ci, którzy żyją życiem konsekrowanym, stają się promotorami prawdziwego rozwoju osoby ludzkiej. W tym znaczeniu osoby konsekrowane mają szczególny udział i zadanie w uświęcaniu świata. Stanowią one zatem radykalną odpowiedź na pojawiające się w każdej epoce znaki czasu.
In his paper, examining the problems experienced by man today, the author seeks answers to the question: what is contemporary consecrated life to look like? What challenges does it face today? What is expected from consecrated persons today, which testimony? In this regard, first, he points to the theological foundations of the religious community, emphasizing that it is a gift from God and at the same time a mystery rooted in the heart of the Holy Trinity, and then he discusses its charismatic dimension. The author thinks that fidelity to one’s consecration according to the charism is an essential element of consecrated life. Among today’s challenges, he first highlights the challenges of the evangelical counsels, and then analyses other contemporary signs of the time, which are a challenge for consecrated persons. Following these analyses, the author emphasizes that personal and community testimony of the life of consecrated persons remains the most important element of the answer to the posed question. Their lives reveal the true face of the love of God and the Church to the world, but never exhaust it. The documents of the Apostolic See place consecrated life in the center of the Church’s activity, thereby assigning it the momentous task of being a visible sign of God’s presence in the world. Those who live a consecrated life become promoters of the true development of the human person. In this sense, consecrated persons have a special share and task in sanctifying the world. They are, therefore, a radical response to the emerging signs of time in each epoch.

Consecrated life is a specific act which results in the state of making saints what is related to fallen nature. Consecration has its place only in the Church. Consecration is also considered to be the central moment of Eucharistic prayer. There are two basic forms of consecrated life: community and individual. Consecrated persons include both clergy and laity. In addition to religious orders, there are other forms of consecrated life that include associations of apostolic life. Some of the consecrated persons are called to mystical life. For centuries, people of consecrated life have not been free from various difficulties. One of them was a misunderstanding about his nature, what it is. Difficulties also concerned certain causes that occurred inside and outside the ecclesial community. In addition, a lack of understanding of consecrated life can sometimes be seen among consecrated persons themselves.

Artykuł ma za zadanie wskazać na chrystocentryczne źródła życia konsekrowanego. Jezus Chrystus jest dla osób konsekrowanych założycielem i wzorem obranej przez nich formy życia. Syn Boży jawi się jako wzór konsekracji opartej na profesji rad ewangelicznych, która w sensie ścisłym oznacza naśladowanie formy życia praktykowanej przez Niego. Artykuł wskazuje także na paschalny wymiar konsekracji, która zakorzeniona jest w konsekracji chrzcielnej, będącej początkiem życia Bożego w człowieku, oraz w Eucharystii. Naśladując Chrystusa czystego, ubogiego i posłusznego, osoby konsekrowane stają się świadkami Jego obecności w świecie.
The goal of the article is to present the Christocentric sources of the consecrated life. Jesus Christ is for all the consecrated people their founder and pattern for the chosen by them form of life. The son of God is indeed the model of consecration based on the profession of the evangelical counsels which in the strict sense means to follow the form of life He has chosen and practised himself. The article picked out on the paschal dimension of the consecration, which is deeply rooted in the baptismal consecration, which is the beginning of the God’s life in human as well as in the Eucharist. Following Christ who is chaste, poor and obedient the consecrated people become the witnesses of His presence in the world.

When we analyse the norms of the Canonical Law Code 1983 we can see, that religious has a right to expect from the Institute – through his superiors – that he will be provided with necessary spiritual and material means required for realization of the calling obtained from God, in order to be able to truly imitate the Christ – God and Man.However it seams, that especially during last years, human factor of the help, that is a question of human dignity of consecrated people, has been seriously neglected during so called monastery formation.Nevertheless it seams to be logical, that the deficiency of human formation also results the invalid formation of the two consecutive stages, that is Christian and monastic formation, since it is well known that God builds upon the human nature.Immature and „defective” Man-monk, who gives up his human dignity will never be able to achieve fully his vocation for sanctity, when lives in monastery institute, which does not fulfill its duties toward his members.

The article presents the issue of formation for hermits, which is currently experiencing a specific heyday in the Church. Recently, more and more people have chosen one of the forms of individual consecrated life as their vocation path. Therefore, the life of the hermit is very popular. In order to take up this specific path of life, one needs an appropriate formation that will allow the future hermit to be correctly formed. In the article, the synthesis contains three selected documents: Hermit Life in the Tarragona Archdiocese. Statutes; The Basic Order of Hermit Life in the Diocese of Regensburg and The State of Hermits. Auxiliary Materials for the Church in Poland and an appendix to this document: Selected Pastoral Guidelines for Consecrated Hermits, which have a valuable full view of formation for this form of consecrated life. These documents are not only to be understood through their application in Can. 603 of the CCL, the spiritual and legal elements, but also unique elements inscribed in the history and spirituality of a given region, are indicated, which can serve the entire community of the Church and constitute a valuable source of the exchange of experiences on the subject of formation.

“Jesus’ call to come, ≪follow me≫ marks the greatest possible exaltation of human freedom, yet at the same time it witnesses to the truth and to the obligation of acts of faith and of decisions which can be described as involving a fundamental option” (Veritatis splendor, n. 66). Consecrated life in the Church is a canonical way of living thanks to the strength resulting from acts of faith and from decisions connected to the practice of evangelical advice. A crisis inconsecrated life results from crisis of faith and from a luck of psychological stability of consecrated persons. This article shows several way show to pass over this crisis: the first way concerns the theological dimension; it consists in better understanding of the dynamism of faith; the second way concerns the spiritual formation; it consists in transforming the consecrated person in the spirit of faith; the third way is situated in life itself; it consists in confessing God as Trinity through the way of living (i.e. confessio Trinitatis). This article is based on the documents of Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, on the declarations of the Associations for the Apostleship, on the teaching of Popes Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and on some theological works on this matter.

There have existed and developed various forms of convent life in the Ełk Diocese for 25 years. The formation of individuals for consecrated life has been continuing as well. First of all, the article outlines the main forms of con-secrated life. Next, it presents the activities and achievements in favour of es-tablishing and a proper development of consecrated life forms in the diocese. The structure and people responsible for that accomplishment, as well as the statistics of the congregations and people being part of the consecrated life are presented. The different undertakings and symposiums, prayer and educational meetings and other forms of support are mentioned. Bishop Edward Samsel, who has been responsible for the diocese’s consecrated life, as well as having been Chairman of the Episcopal Commission of Poland for Institutes of Conse-crated Life, has played a huge role in that respect. The carried out analysis has allowed to determine that consecrated life forms have been deeply rooted and imprinted in the foundation and structure of the diocese.

One of the most important decisions in every personʼs life is the one regarding vocation. The choice of oneʼs own vocation is one of the basic human and religious issues. Who has found his vocation usually enjoys a happy life. Tomáš Cardinal Špidlík, whose anniversary of birth and death we commemorate (* 17 December 1919; † 16 April 2010), dedicated a separate book to this topic. In a form of dialogue, he offers his experience in discerning one’s personal vocation and in decrypting Godʼs will. He pays special attention to the spiritual vocation and questions related to it. In the following text, we will try to reflect on selected areas regarding the issue of existence and vocation choice in the context of Špidlíkʼs experience. The topic is very current because the priestly and spiritual vocations in Slovakia have been falling fast in recent years.

Odnowa życia w świetle charyzmatu jest stałym wyzwaniem, które stoi przed poszczególnymi instytutami życia konsekrowanego. Na ten problem zwraca uwagę aktualne nauczanie Magisterium Kościoła, które uwypukla aspekt wierności charyzmatycznej, właściwej formacji oraz troski o powołania. Odnowa miłości wobec Boga i ludzi jest gwarantem wierności powołaniu poszczególnych osób konsekrowanych. Ona także sprawia, że osoby konsekrowane stają się proroczym znakiem obecności Boga w świecie oraz wskazują na ostateczny cel człowieka, jakim jest zjednoczenie z Bogiem.
Renewal of life in the light of the charism has been a fixed challenge, which faces each institute of the consecrated life. This problem is highlighted in the current teaching of the Magisterium of the Church, which underlines aspects of the charismatic fidelity, appropriate formation and concern for religious vocations. Renewal of love of God and humans is the guarantor of fidelity of vocation for each consecrated person. It makes it happen that consecrated people become the prophetic sign of the presence of God in the world and directs us toward the ultimate goal of a human being that is the unity with God.

This article presents Pope Benedict XVI’s juxtaposition of consecrated life and relativism in the contemporary world. The Pope believes that relativism is today one of the most dangerous threats to the Christian faith. Benedict XVI counters this contemporary phenomenon with the answer given by Christianity. The life of the people who are totally devoted to God stays in visible opposition to the contemporary relativistic mentality. Consecrated life translates into the exclusive love for Jesus Christ and the devotion to Him within the Church. Consecrated persons recognise the absolute primacy of God. Through the practice of evangelical counsels, they closely accompany and follow Jesus. Consecrated life, due to its nature, is atestimony of finding and recognizing Jesus Christ as the Truth that one can entrust oneself to.
Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie życia konsekrowanego wobec relatywizmu we współczesnym świecie na podstawie nauczania papieża Benedykta XVI. Według papieża relatywizm jest dzisiaj jednym z największych zagrożeń dla wiary chrześcijańskiej – Benedykt XVI przeciwstawia mu odpowiedź, jaką daje chrześcijaństwo. W widocznej opozycji do współczesnej mentalności relatywistycznej znajduje się życie osób poświęconych na własność Bogu. Życie konsekrowane realizuje wezwanie do wyłącznej miłości Chrystusa i służby Jemu w Kościele. Osoby zakonne żyją absolutnym prymatem Boga, a przez ślubowanie rad ewangelicznych idą drogą naśladowania Jezusa bardziej z bliska. Natura życia konsekrowanego sprawia, że jest ono świadectwem odnalezienia Jezusa Chrystusa jako Prawdy, której można całkowicie powierzyć siebie

Title XII of the Codex Canonum Ecclesiarum Orientalium dedicated to the religious institutes in the oriental catholic traditions is made up of four chapters. The first chapter begins with some general preliminary canons (Art. I, cc. 410-432) on monks and other religious. These norms are to be born in mind while dealing specifically with monasteries, orders and congregations. Canonical questions regarding monasteries as such are treated in the second article (cc. 433-503), while the third refers to orders and congregations. Another important aspect of the oriental law on religious institutes is the typology of the forms of the consecrated life. This is quite different from the Latin legislation. In fact, the CCEO identifies five institutional and three individual kinds of the consecrated life, while the CIC simply distinguishes between religious and secular institutes.

Opis:
A parable, applied to the structure of the Dogmatic Constitution on the Church Lumen gentium and the essence of the personal consecration, is the key to interpret the mystery of the Church and personal consecration through the profession of the evangelical counsels. The consecration has been presented as a “proper experience”: of the Son of God (Jn 10:36 – hēgiasen kai apesteilen); of the Church (all are consecrated through the baptism and confirmation; some through a new consecration); of a person called to this state. The essence of personal consecration has been defined in three elements: vocatio (verified by the Church); sacrificatio (the response for calling, in the form of giving one’s life to ministry); sanctificatio (a life transformed to appeal in a meaningful way – cf. VC 20). The ideal fulfilled in Christ and in the Church (various historical and new forms) is a challenge for contemporary vocations. The challenge lies in the deformations, crises; the hopes are related to God’s faithfulness, the radicalism of the young (evangelical radicalism) and solid formation.

The article presents the basic principles of the spirituality of consecrated life as they are laid out in chapter VI of the Constitution on the Church. These principles can be summed up as the following:1. Consecrated life means the imitation of Christ.2. This imitation is of a charismatic nature, thus can only be lived by vocation, with the power of and originating from the Holy Spirit.3. The fruits of the works of the Holy Spirit, and consequently, the enforcement of the imitation of Christ is love; a love that is always love towards God and your neighbour. How diverse talents and vocations can be.4. Thanks to this love, enforced by the Holy Spirit, consecrated life presents itself as a present from Christ to the Church. It is therefore, placed in the centre of Church life and serves the Church not just by obedience and ministry, but even deeper by a living witness that reflects the pilgrimage of a Christian, and the hope for a life to come.

The article presents the significance of consecrated life in the service of searching for sense as viewed by Benedict XVI. The Pope shows in his teaching the contemporary crisis of sense and values; he also urges and reminds us of the sense of our existence – a question that is deeply inscribed into human nature. Consecrated life is (and has ever been since its very beginnings) the search for God: quaerere Deum. The person fully devoted to God sets Christ, “eternal Sense,” in the centre of his/her life and commits himself/herself totally to Him. Benedict XVI teaches that consecrated life, being a special way of following Christ and entrusting to Him one’s whole existence, is the evidence of finding life’s sense and constitutes an aid for those who search for it.
Artykuł przedstawia znaczenie życia konsekrowane w służbie poszukiwania sensu według Benedykta XVI. W swoim nauczaniu papież zwraca uwagę na zjawisko współczesnego kryzysu sensu i wartości, a zarazem przypomina o wpisanym głęboko w naturę ludzką pytaniu o sens istnienia. Życie konsekrowane jest (i było od samych początków) poszukiwaniem Boga: quaerere Deum. Osoba poświęcona Bogu na własność stawia w centrum swego życia Chrystusa, „odwieczny Sens”, i całkowicie powierza Mu siebie. Zgodnie z nauczaniem Benedykta XVI życie konsekrowane, będące drogą specjalnego naśladowania Chrystusa i poddania Jemu całej egzystencji, jest świadectwem odnalezienia sensu życia i stanowi pomoc dla poszukujących go.

W artykule podjęto tematykę obowiązków zakonników wobec instytutu, do którego należą. Dlatego też zostały przeanalizowane takie szczegółowe kwestie, jak: zamieszkanie w domu zakonnym, zachowanie klauzury, zarządzanie dobrami materialnymi, noszenie stroju zakonnego oraz zakaz podejmowania zajęć i obowiązków poza własnym instytutem bez zgody przełożonego. Przeprowadzona analiza poza charakterystyką poszczególnych obowiązków, ukazuje zmiany, jakie zostały wprowadzone przez ustawodawcę w Kodeksie Prawa Kanonicznego z 1983 r.
People who make decisions about the life of evangelical counsels in a religious institute have to be aware of both the rights and the obligations they accept to fulfil. The article applies the issue of the religious duties to the institute to which they belong. Therefore the article discusses specific issues as: living in a religious house, keeping the enclosure, managing material goods, wearing a religious outfit and not taking classes and duties outside of the institute without the agreement of the superior. The analysis of canon law regulations carried out, besides the discussion of individual duties shows the changes introduced by the legislator in the 1983 Code of Canon Law.

The term consecrated life appeared quite recently. Though it is commonly used, and yet – as it seems – it is not understand to the full extend even by the very persons to whom it refers. That’s because not many of them read the John Paul’s II Canonical Law Code of 1983, where there is given a full definition of the consecrated life. The term is usually explained as the life particularly sacrificed (consecrated) to God. At the same time sacrament of baptism - called also by the term of baptismal consecration - already dedicates the life of each baptized to God, so it becomes a true consecrated life. Likewise  a priest by reception of the consecration sacrament simultaneously  sacrifices himself to God. What kind of  consecration then we are talking about in the case of so called consecrated persons? When it takes place, and what so much distinguishes the consecrated persons, that they create separate class in the Church, though it is not a hierarchic one? The answers for such questions are given in the article, which analyses the  Code’s definition of the consecrated life, and its forms existing in the Catholic Church.
Pojęcie życie konsekrowane pojawiło się stosunkowo niedawno. Chociaż jest ono powszechnie stosowane, to jednak – jak się wydaje – nie jest rozumiane  w sposób pełny  nawet przez same osoby, których dotyczy.  Niewiele z nich sięga bowiem do Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego Jana Pawła II z 1983 roku,  gdzie podano pełną definicję życia konsekrowanego. Termin ten najczęściej wyjaśnia się jako życie szczególnie poświęcone (konsekrowane) Bogu. Tymczasem już sakrament chrztu - określany także mianem konsekracji chrzcielnej -  poświęca Bogu życie każdego ochrzczonego, tak że staje się ono prawdziwym życiem konsekrowanym. Również przez przyjęcie sakramentu święceń kapłańskich kapłan konsekruje się całkowicie Bogu. O jaką więc konsekrację chodzi w przypadku tzw. osób konsekrowanych? Kiedy ona się dokonuje i co tak bardzo wyróżnia osoby konsekrowane, że tworzą one odrębny stan w Kościele, chociaż  nie hierarchiczny? Odpowiedzi na tak postawione pytania dostarcza artykuł analizujący  kodeksową definicję życia konsekrowanego i jego form istniejących w Kościele katolickim.

Życie konsekrowane rodzące się z Bożej inicjatywy winno być rozważane w perspektywie charyzmatycznej. Duch Święty, który działa w Kościele, nie tylko stoi u początku każdego instytutu konsekrowanego, ale staje się też źródłem licznych owoców na przestrzeni wieków. Życie konsekrowane objawia się jako rzeczywistość nieustannie zmieniająca się i owocująca, podległa stałej inspiracji Ducha Świętego. W artykule zostanie omówiony potrójny wymiar obecności Parakleta w życiu konsekrowanym: w powołaniu człowieka do świętości, w charyzmacie instytutów i w nowych formach życia konsekrowanego. Dzięki temu będzie można łatwiej dostrzec wymiar charyzmatyczny tej formy życia w Kościele.
Consecrated life born from the God’s initiative should be considered in the charismatic perspective. Holy Spirit, who works in the Church, not only stands at the beginning of each institute of the consecrated life, but has been the source of countless blessings and positive fruits throughout the centuries. Consecrated life manifests itself as the always changing reality which under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit brings about many fruits. In the article one can find the explanation for Trinitarian dimension of the presence of the Paraclete in the consecrated life: Firstly in the vocation of a human to sainthood, secondly in the charism of the particular institute or form of the consecrated life. Finally thanks to these dimensions mentioned above one can easily discover another one, which is the charismatic form of living within the Church.

This article presents the importance of the Gospel in the life of consecrated persons according to the teaching of the Church from Paul VI to Francis. The teaching of Popes Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis point to the Gospel as the norm and rule of consecrated life. There are many points of convergence in the teaching of the post-conciliar popes on the evangelical character of the consecrated life. This issue is a clear example of the continuity of the teaching of the Church. Each of the Popes emphasizes their thought slightly differently, but they all unequivocally demand that consecrated persons be fully faithful to the Gospel. Because of the contemporary crisis of the consecrated life, these recommendations acquire particular significance and constitute a necessary signpost for the future.

Życie pustelnicze jest ogromnym darem dla Kościoła. Obecnie można zauważyć zwiększone zainteresowanie tą indywidualną formą życia konsekrowanego. Kobiety i mężczyźni udają się na współczesne pustynie, aby trwać w Bożej obecności i złączyć swoje życie z Ukrzyżowanym Chrystusem. Ich tożsamość na nowo została wytyczona po Soborze Watykańskim II w kan. 603 Kodeksu prawa kanonicznego. Zwraca on uwagę na teologiczne (odsunięcie od świata, milczenie odosobnienia, gorliwa modlitwa, pokuta) i prawne (indywidualna forma życia, publiczna profesja trzech rad ewangelicznych oraz życie zgodne z statutem osobowym) elementy tożsamości pustelniczej.
A hermit life is a significant honour for the Church. Currently, we can notice an increased interest in this individual form of consecrated life. Women and men go to modern deserts to stay in God’s presence and unite their lives with the Crucified Christ. Their identity have redefined after the Second Vatican Council in canon 603 of the Code of Canon Law, which singles out the theological (retreat from the world, silence of seclusion, ardent prayer, penance) and legal (individual life form, public profession of three evangelical councils and life in accordance with the personal statute) elements of hermit identities.

Artykuł porusza również zagadnienie świadectwa osób konsekrowanych oraz wymiaru profetycznego życia zakonnego.
The purpose of this article is to show the Triune God as a source of a consecrated life. The vocation to the consecrated life is being born of free God’s initiative. The religious vows, as the Holy Trinity’s gift, are reflections of that way of life, which God’s Son accepted, who was sent by Father in Holy Spirit. Trinitarian source of consecrated life is seen in various aspects: the aspect of vocation, the aspect of institutes and the aspect of communities. The author of the article also raises the topic of the testimony of consecrated people and prophetic aspect of consecrated life.
