The main aim of the study is the side impact of the truck into the passenger car, which is one of the possible variants in compatibility case. The compatibility problem has direct influence at biomechanical injuries of the passengers travelling by the cars and also at deformation of the structure. This research should assign critical configurations of the truck and the car during side impact. Critical criteria of compatibility problem are biomechanical injuries structure deformation. The research was performed with Chrysler Neon mode, automotive seating (metal construction), Hybrid III dummy model and moving barrier with changed mass (equals to the mass of the heavy truck KAMAZ) and equipped with front underrun protection barrier (FUP - based on the geometry of the Mercedes ACTROS front structure). Interaction between car and heavy truck is at the driver side. During the research different location and angles of the barrier against the car has been taken into account. Two speeds were used to investigate the barrier influence to the car. The results of the simulation allow predicting the biomechanical coefficients such as: HIC, 3 ms, TTI, e.g., which give the overview of the passenger injuries. The other set of the data is plastic deformations which are visible at the Front Underrun Protection (FUP) barrier and also at the passenger car construction. The results of research allows to assign the direction ofthe changes which should be proposed to the truck manufactures in order to reduce passengers biomechanical injuries and intrusion into car during side impact.

The paper presents the problem of protection of smart houses against electromagnetic disturbances. The technology associated with intelligent buildings was explained in detail. Attention was drawn to possibility of using specific technologies installed in different places. Electromagnetic disturbances that may affect the operation of sensitive electronic of intelligent building were characterized. The spread way of these disturbances and their methods of reduction were described.

Opis:
Machine learning (ML) methods facilitate automated data mining. The authors compare the effectiveness of selected ML methods (RBF networks, Kohonen networks, and random forest) as modelling tools supporting the selection of materials in ecodesign. Applied in the design process, ML methods help benefit from the knowledge, experience and creativity of designers stored in historical data in databases. Implemented into a decision support system, the knowledge can be utilized – in the case under analysis – in the process of design of environmentally friendly products. The study was initiated with an analysis of input data for the selection of materials. The input data, specified in cooperation with designers, include both technological and environmental parameters which guarantee the desired compatibility of materials. Next, models were developed using selected ML methods. The models were assessed and implemented into an expert system. The authors show which models best fit their purpose and why. Models supporting the selection of materials, connections and disassembly methods help boost the recycling properties of designed products.

Intentional or unintentional (stationary or mobile) electromagnetic disturbance occurring over a large rail area may cause disruption of their operations. Therefore, it becomes important to analyse disturbances affecting these systems and to develop methods for reducing their impact.

Systemy i urządzenia iskrobezpieczne muszą spełniać odpowiednie wymagania kompatybilności elektromagnetycznęj (EMC). Jednoczesne zapewnienie iskrobezpieczeństwa oraz kompatybilności elektromagnetycznej sprawia często wiele trudności i pociąga za sobą konieczność realizowania nieraz sprzecznych ze sobą zaleceń. Możliwości stosowania powszechnie znanych i dostępnych środków czy rozwiązań pozwalających spełnić warunki EMC w urządzeniach i systemach iskrobezpiecznych są przeważnie znacznie ograniczone. Niektóre rozwiązania są jednak korzystne zarówno dla uzyskania iskrobezpieczeństwa, jak też dla zapewnienia kompatybilności elektromagnetycznej. W artykule opisano odniesienie do szeregu wymogów i ograniczeń narzucanych projektantowi urządzeń przeznaczonych do pracy w atmosferach wybuchowych przez normy przedmiotowe zgodne z dyrektywami 94/9/WE: ATEX [1] i 2004/108/WE: EMC [2]. Omówiono wybrane problemy występujące w urządzeniach iskrobezpiecznych przy spełnianiu wymagań norm zharmonizowanych dyrektywą EMC.
The article features some issues related to the requirements and limitations imposed on the developers of devices working in explosive atmospheres by standards compliant with the directives 94/9/EC: ATEX [1] and 2004/108/EC: EMC [2]. The authors discussed selected problems occurring in intrinsically safe devices that are compliant with standards harmonized with the EMC directive.

Omówiono problemy wynikłe w pracy urządzeń podczas oceny ich funkcjonowania w trakcie badań kompatybilności elektromagnetycznej, m.in. na przykładzie wyrobów przeznaczonych do pracy w podziemiach kopalń. Badania zostały wykonane w Laboratorium Badań Kompatybilności Elektromagnetycznej (EMC) w Instytucie Technik Innowacyjnych EMAG w Katowicach. Prezentowane wyniki badań/pomiarów są efektem testów przeprowadzonych w warunkach laboratoryjnych i nie dotyczą wyników badań/pomiarów urządzeń wykonywanych poza siedzibą laboratorium - w miejscu instalacji urządzeń, tzw. pomiarów IN SITU. Problemy przedstawiono na przykładach badań odporności na serie szybkich elektrycznych stanów przejściowych [9] (Electrical Fast Transient EFT/BURST), zapady napięcia, krótkie przerwy i zmiany napięcia [10] oraz na pomiarach elektromagnetycznych zaburzeń promieniowanych [8]. Ze względu na poufność informacji (polityka jakości akredytowanego laboratorium badawczego), szczegóły dotyczące badanych urządzeń zostały utajnione.
The article features the problems concerning the operations of mining devices that were detected at their evaluation during electromagnetic compatibility tests. These tests were applied to devices designed to work in the underground of mines. The tests were carried out in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory of the Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG in Katowice. The presented test/measurement results refer to the tests carried out in laboratory conditions and do not refer to tests/measurements conducted outside the laboratory - in the place where the devices are installed, the so-called IN STTU measurements. The problems were presented based on resistance tests to Electrical Fast Transient EFT/BURST [9], voltage dips, short breaks and changes in voltage [10], as well as the measurements of electromagnetic radiation disturbances [8]. Due to information confidentiality (quality polity of the accredited testing laboratory), the details concerning the examined devices are confidential.

Przedstawiono matematyczny model odbiornika naziemnej telewizji cyfrowej DVB-T, opracowany do wyznaczania kryteriów kompatybilności miedzysystemowej za pomocą symulacji komputerowych. Podano przykład zastosowania oraz wyznaczone za jego pomocą współczynniki ochronne, które porównano z wartościami zmierzonymi.
The paper describes mathematical model of DVB-T receiver designed to verify its compatibility with other services by means of computer simulations. The model and the results of its implementation - calculated protection ratios compared to measured values are presented.

The way compatible pairs of nitrate non-utilizing mutants (nit) are selected is usually not explained and remains unclear whether these pairs are representative for an isolate or strain. In addition, tester strains of Verticillium dahliae vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs) cross-react with at least one pair of tester strains of another VCG, and although it is a common knowledge of scientists working with the fungus that reversion of nit mutants to wild type occurs far too often, this fact is rarely mentioned in papers. To overcome the above problems, a protocol was developed for the generation of large number of nit mutants from any given isolate and to ensure that compatible pairs of mutants are indeed stable and the most frequent within the putative tester mutants produced from each isolate. Thus, we provide a reproducible and objective way of selecting V. dahliae tester strains for each isolate and VCG. Although VC grouping is based on the formation of stable heterokaryons, we demonstrate in this work that cross-reactions cannot be eliminated and that strict genetic barriers between two main VCG groups are absent in V. dahliae.

For the application of 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyridine-1-oxide (ANPyO) in composite explosives, the compatibility of ANPyO with some energetic materials was studied by the use of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), where the energetic materials were cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine (RDX), cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX), 3,4-dinitrofurazanfuroxan (DNTF), hexanitrohexazaisowurtzitane (CL-20), 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), 2,4,6-triamino-1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TATB), 3-nitro-1,2,4-triazol-5-one (NTO), 2,6-diamino-3,5-dinitropyrazine-1-oxide (LLM-105), 5-amino-1H-tetrazole nitrate (5-ATEZN), ammonium perchlorate (AP), potassium perchlorate (KP), aluminum powder (Al), boron powder (B), magnesium hydride (MgH2) and magnesium borohydride (Mg(BH4)2). The results showed that the binary systems of ANPyO/CL-20, ANPyO/NTO, ANPyO/5-ATEZN, ANPyO/Al, ANPyO/B, ANPyO/MgH2 and ANPyO/Mg(BH4)2 are compatible, and that the systems of ANPyO with RDX, LLM-105, HMX, AP and KP are sensitive, and with DNTF, TNT and TATB are incompatible.

In the paper have been discussed project of the system of evaluation and classification of vehicles and automobile devices in aspect of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). There have been presented additional criteria concerning emission of electromagnetic disturbances and immunity to the disturbances as well as means to classify the quality of tested vehicles and automobile devices, inpurpose of improving road traffic sofety and protection of electromagnetic environment. It has been presented proposals of EMC integrated evaluation methods for vehicles and automobile devices. For the vehicles it comprises five categories where evaluation is carried out for three components: broadband and narrow band emission and immunity to electromagnetic radiation. For devices there are also proposed five categories where evaluation is carried out for four components: broadband and narrowband emission, immunity to electromagnetic radiation and to electrical transients. There are also presented the examples that illustrate proposed system of automobile and devices classification in aspect of EMC and algorithm of the verification and evaluation of vehicles according to project. Proposed criteria of integrated evaluation of vehicles and automobile devices enables evaluation of quality, what can contribute in engineering of high competitive products.

Oxetane-based polymers substituted with difluoroamino groups can be used as energetic binders in propellants and polymer-bonded explosives (PBXs). As a novel candidate, poly(3-difluoroaminomethyl-3-methyloxetane/3-nitratomethyl-3-methyloxetane) (PDN) was synthesized and its structure was established. Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were employed to investigate its thermal decomposition behaviour. The compatibility between PDN and some common ingredients of propellants and PBXs was evaluated by the DSC method. PDN with good thermal stability was synthesized via a cationic solution polymerization process. Additionally, it has improved compatibility with cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX), carbon black (C.B.) and lead carbonate (PbCO3) compared with homopoly(3-difluoroaminomethyl-3-methyloxetane) (PDFAMO). PDN could be used as a promising difluoroamino energetic binder in the future.
