Opis:: The article presents information fusion approach for song classification with use of acoustic signal. Many acoustic features can contribute to correct identification of a song. Taking into consideration only one set of features may result in omission of relevant information. It is possible to improve the accuracy of identification process by means of the information fusion technique, in which various aspects of acoustic fingerprint are taken into consideration. Two sets of signal features were distinguished: one were based on frequency analysis (harmonic elements) and the other were based on multidimensional correlation ratios. An identification of a commercial was made with use of SVM and k-NN classifiers. The music audio signal database was used for assessing the effectiveness of the proposed solution. Results show an improved effectiveness of identification in relation to applying only one set of song features.

Opis:: The paper presents the analysis of the Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software regarding the ability to be used in audio steganography techniques. Such methods are a relatively new tool for hiding and transmitting crucial information, also being used by hackers. In the following work, the publicly available software dedicated to audio steganography is examined. The aim was to provide the general operating model of the information processing in the steganographic effort. The embedding method was analyzed for each application, providing interesting insights and allowing classifying the methods. The results prove that it is possible to detect the hidden message within the specific audio file and identify the technique that was used to create it. This may be exploited further during the hacking attack detection and prevention.

Opis:: The paper is devoted to a depth analysis of the intellectual processes of dynamic formation of personal audio and video content for mobile information support of a user during his touristic trip. The main goal is to develop methodological approaches that are appropriate to use for designing one of the subsystems of innovative intelligent system "MIAT" (Mobile Information Assistant of Tourists) that will provide formation and processing of audio and video content that is required for individual information technology of user support during realization his excursion. The authors examined the architecture of mobile audio travel guides and algorithmic synchronization tools of their multimedia content components. Travel guidebooks in DAISY format are proposed to use as sources of multimedia content that accompanies the trip or tour. The basic requirements for mobile subsystems of intelligent information systems "MIAT" are formed, so it is responsible for dynamic personalized audio and video support tourists during realization his trip.

Opis:: The subject of this paper is the specificity of the information space of persons with visual disabilities as a component of their information culture, according to the concept proposed by M. Kisilowska. Based on systematic analysis of documents and long years of participative observations, the deliberations focus on legal solutions governing the access of persons with visual disabilities to information, the navigation and cognition spheres of a blind information user and the specificity of providing information, in particular the Braille system, tactile graphics, audio description, alternative materials and augmentative technologies. The deliberations highlight obstacles in accessing information by persons with visual disabilities and suggest both practical solutions and research proposals for a complex analysis of the information culture of persons with visual disabilities in Poland.

Opis:: The versality of the compact disc (CD) has quickly become apparent to manufacturers and users alike. Exceeding the expectations of even its most ardent supporters, the CD holographic disc storage system has become one of the most successful consumer electronics products ever introduced. The phenomenal success of the audio CD on the eager worldwide marketplace has encouraged rapid development of CD technology and spawned entirely new high tech applications for the dimpled disc. The Mini Disc (MD), for instance, occupies about one-fourth the area of the standard CD-Digital Audio (CD-DA) format yet provides an identical playing time through efficient data reduction. The essence of digital audio lies in its numerical basis. It is the aim of the present paper to elaborate the mathematical principles underlying the audio CD as far as they are concerned to the format's electronic and holographic principles.

Opis:: Článek přináší informace a zkušenosti s projektovou výukou mediální výchovy studentů katedry informačních a komunikačních technologií Pedagogické fakulty Ostravské univerzity (dále katedra ICT), tedy budoucích učitelů na základních a středních školách. Tato výuková metoda, při které studenti realizují projekt vlastních novin, se velmi osvědčila, protože vlastní tvůrčí a produkční činnost (learning by doing) je velmi účinná při posilování motivace, dlouhodobém zapamatování znalostí a získávání dovedností. Mediální výchova v tomto pojetí je na katedře ICT zaměřena prakticky. V jednotlivých částech studenti získávají přehled o základech žurnalistiky, digitální fotografie, zvuku a videa. Rozvoj mediální gramotnosti u studentů oboru Informační technologie ve vzdělávání má rovněž pozitivní vliv na posilování jejich informačních kompetencí.
The article presents information and experience with media education project teaching students of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Pedagogical Faculty of Ostrava University (Department of ICT), that future teachers in primary and secondary schools. This teaching method in which students carry out a project of its own newspaper, proved very useful, because the creative and production activities (learning by doing) is very effective in enhancing motivation, long-term memorization of knowledge and skills. Media education in this concept is the Department of ICT focused practice. In the individual chapters, students gain an overview of the basics of journalism, digital photos, audio and video. Developing media literacy among students majoring in Information Technology in Education also has a positive effect on strengthening their information skills.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono szczegółową analizę zastosowania adaptacyjnego kodera arytmetycznego w bezstratnej kompresji dźwięku. Przedstawiono nowatorskie reguły podziału kontekstowego, dzięki którym dla każdej próbki istnieje możliwość właściwego doboru jednego z 20 rozkładów prawdopodobieństwa pozwalającego na efektywne kodowanie arytmetyczne. Scharakteryzowano sposób adaptacji długookresowej. Zwiększenie tempa adaptacji krótkookresowej osiągnięto przez wprowadzenie odpowiedniej kwantyzacji błędów predykcji. Zaproponowano także osobne kodowanie bitu znaku. Na końcu przedstawiono porównanie efektywności omawianej metody z innymi kodekami znanymi z literatury. Zaimplementowana metoda pozwala na kodowanie dźwięku w czasie rzeczywistym.
The paper presents a detailed analysis of application of an adaptive arithmetic encoder in lossless audio compression. Novel rules for contextual split are provided thanks to which there exists the possibility of proper selection for each sample, one from 20 probability distributions aiming at effective arithmetic encoding. A longterm adaptation technique is characterized. An increase in the shortterm adaptation speed is obtained due to the introduction of an appropriate prediction error quantization. The separate encoding of the sign bit is also proposed. Eventually, there is a comparison of the proposed method effectiveness with other encoders known from literature. The implemented method allows us to encode audio in the real time.

Opis:: Audio watermarking (AW) technology is considered for stealthy information embedding directly into audio signal. Inherent in analog radiotelephone channel interferences against watermarks are analyzed. Robust encoding/decoding algorithms are presented and appropriate project of AW system named as Automatic Radio Telephone Identification System (ARTIS) is proposed. Experimental results for the practical VHF radio channel are presented. Relating on processing complexity the designed system enables imperceptibly transmit data on a rate up to 260 bit/sec in the standard VHF radio channel. ARTIS provides the full compatibility with the existing radio installation, and doesn’t require replacement of standard VHF transceivers and operational procedures. Besides, automatic identification the system may be used in the special applications, for example, under the threat of terrorist attack; generally contributes to navigation safety and information security.
