Measurement investigations have been carried out for commutator dc motor with internal asymmetries. Construction of considered motor enables to realize the breaking of one rotor coil and shorting of two groups of rotor coils. Each group contains three rotor coils. The basis of study were signals: current and voltage of field winding, current and voltage of armature winding and velocity of the rotor. The presented in this paper results of spectral analysis of signals create new possibilities for diagnostics of commutator dc motor.

In the article, a dedicated testing environment for MEMS acceleration sensors is shown. The system is able to collect data from multiple devices with different physical interfaces, send them through parallel streaming, archive, and analyze it. The architecture and operational algorithms of individual components, such as complex synchronization methods in the data streaming process is described. This data streaming is finally realized by Ethernet interface which becomes a bridge between the PC system running the dedicated application and the sensor board. In the last section of the article, quality indicators of acceleration sensors signals are presented. These indicators indicate primarily a useful signal to noise ratio with respect to the measurement resolution.

The paper deals with the acquisition of measuring signals from inductive sensors and their treatment in the programming environment National Instruments DasyLab. Its potential is presented with respect to analyzing and processing the data and the methods of constructing algorithms for performing complex tasks are discussed. Signals coming from inductive sensors are typically sinusoidal or deformed, of irregular shapes. They carry various types of information: on the thickness of the outer coating, on the flaws in the coating, or on the linear or angular displacement. In order to obtain such information from the measuring sensor it is necessary to examine the amplitude, frequency, or shape of the measuring signal analysed. Such signals can be examined as individual impulses of various shapes or as sets of periods extending over longer time spans. The paper also describes the examples of the systems in the DasyLab software package to be used in measurements and other forms of applied research.

Liquid Computing Theory is a proposal of modelling the behaviour of neural microcircuits.It focuses on creating a group of neurons, known as a liquid layer, responsible for preprocessing of the signal that is being analysed. Specific information is achieved by the readout layers, task oriented groups of neurons, taught to extract particular information from the state of liquid layer. The LSMs have been used to analyse sound signals. The liquid layer was implemented in the PCSIM Simulator, and the readout layer has been prepared in the JNNS simulator. It could successfully recognise certain sounds despite noises. Those results encourage further research of the computational potentialof Liquid State Machines including working in parallel with many readout layers.

Opis:
Aproksymacja sygnałów, w przedziale czasowym z użyciem klasycznego szeregu Fouriera, prowadzi do generacji segmentów dodatkowych sygnału w przedziałach okresowo rozmieszczonych na osi czasu. Na granicach przedziałów powstają wówczas nieciągłości, w których pobliżu błędy aproksymacji osiągają niedopuszczalnie duże wartości. W pracy przedstawiono wielomiany, zawierające szeregi trygonometryczne, które posiadają właściwości zmniejszania błędów aproksymacji w punktach granicznych, praktycznie do wartości równej zeru. Błędy aproksymacji ograniczono przez dobór funkcji tworzących wielomiany, wykorzystanie efektu kompensacji błędów w punktach granicznych oraz wprowadzenie poprawki korygującej błędy obliczeniowe wewnątrz analizowanego przedziału. Wielomiany umożliwiają wykonanie aproksymacji sygnałów nieokresowych w połączeniu z filtracją zakłóceń, analizy częstotliwościowej o właściwościach porównywalnych z DFT, oraz analizy czasowo-częstotliwościowej.
Signals approximation, using classical trigonometric series leads to generation of additional segments of signal. Then on interval limits discontinuities occur near which approximation errors acquire inadmissible high values. In the paper were presented polynomials including trigonometric series which have properties of diminishing approximation errors in limiting points practically to zero. Approximation errors were reduced by choice of functions forming polynomials, taking advantage of effect of error compensation in limiting points as well as introducing correction of analytical errors. Polynomials enable doing approximation of aperiodic signals in connection with filtration, frequency analysis of values comparable to DFT, and time - frequency analysis.

Accelerometers embedded in the medical bed were used to examine the human cardiovascular system. N signals acquired from those sensors were described as 1D manifold and analysed using classical and affine differential geometry invariants. Experiments using elastic tube and two accelerometers were done to model human aorta and to prove the relation presented in the paper of Pinheiro et al.

The paper deals with an application of entropy of signal in frequency domain to vibroacoustical diagnostics of ball bearings. Crossing of rolling elements over a crack located at one of the raceways is a reason of appearance of a sequence of shocks. Presented method of diagnosing is based on an assumption that impulses, which are results of bearing faults cause instantaneous changes of signal in frequency domain. This changes of signal are estimated with use of entropy of signal in frequency domain. During the research the Shannon entropy and the relative entropy were applied. Distribution of signal in frequency domain was estimated with use Fourier Transform (normalized Power Spectrum Density) or Discrete Wavelet Transform. In the paper the influence of rotational speed of shaft on efficiency of proposed method were presented.
Artykuł poświęcony jest zastosowaniu entropii widma sygnału do wibroakustycznej diagnostyki łożysk tocznych. Przetaczanie się elementów tocznych przez lokalne uszkodzenie jednej z bieżni łożyska powoduje wystąpienie szeregu uderzeń. Prezentowana metoda diagnozowania bazuje na założeniu, że impulsy które są wynikiem uszkodzeniem łożyska wywołują chwilowe zmiany sygnału w dziedzinie częstotliwości. Te zmiany są oceniane z wykorzystaniem entropii widma sygnału. W badaniach zastosowano entropię Sharona i entropię względną. Rozkład sygnału w dziedzinie częstotliwości wyznaczano z zastosowaniem transformacji Fouriera (znormalizowane widmo mocy sygnału) albo dyskretnej transformacji falkowej. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki opisujące wpływ prędkości obrotowej wału na wyniki zaproponowanej metody.

The original system useful for analysis of signals recorded during investigations of partial discharges within power oil transformers by means of acoustic method is presented. This method includes the basic and advanced analysis of recorded data. In the frame of basic analysis of data recorded signals undergo filtration in chosen frequency bands and next the analysis is made - in domain of time, frequency, time-frequency and discrimination threshold. In the frame of advanced analysis of data the amplitude distributions of acoustic emission signals and the acoustic emission descriptors (defined by the authors) are calculated in order to outline maps of acoustic emission descriptors on lateral walls of a transformer; it is a base for location of sources of partial discharges by means of the original method consisted in determination of advance degree of a signal. Results of this analysis, for signals recorded in two chosen transformers with identical construction (partial discharge occurred only within one of them), are presented in the paper. The source of partial discharge, situated within oil near transformer tank, was localized; the revision confirmed this result. Properties of recorded emission acoustic signals at chosen measuring points situated on the tank, in function of distance between the partial discharge source and measuring points, are presented.

In the paper, two-stage signal pre-processing algorithm based on the filtration is presented. The developed algorithm is dedicated for the diagnostic programmable device PUD-2. The PUD-2 is the real-time analyzer based on programmable logic devices FPGA, as well as on ARM processor. Application of FPGA programmable devices and ARM processors allows to merge advantages of hardware and software implementations. Further, analysis of digital filters parameters in case of its efficient realization on the FPGA is presented. The aim of the study is to select digital-filter parameters in such way that the available resources of FPGA are used efficiently and filter characteristics meet established criteria. In the study, low pass finite impulse response and infinite impulse response filters are compared. For the first stage of the signal pre-processing algorithm, hardware implementation of the infinite impulse response filter is proposed, contrary to the second stage, where software realization of the finite impulse response filter is suggested. Combination of hardware and software filtration algorithms allows for fast and efficient realization of signal pre-processing algorithm used in analysis carried out on the PUD-2.

The study was conducted in Lake Lansk (surface area - 1042 ha, maximum depth - 53 m), in which the former dominant was vendace. Commercial catch results from the past decade indicate that there has been a seventy-two-fold decreased in vendace stocks. Hydroacoustic estimates indicate that there are 7.9 million fish in the pelagic zone. Approximately 93% of these inhabit the epilimnion (6.8 thousand fishźha-1), which is 7.6 times larger than that in the hypolimnion. There were 2.5 times fewer fish in a similarly sized southern region of the lake in 2004 than in 2001. Using the numbers, species structure, and individual weight, the biomass of the fish inhabiting the pelagic zone was calculated at 194.7 kgźha-1. The largest share was of vendace at 45.7% (89.0 kgźha-1), followed by roach at 18% (35.0 kgźha-1) and bleak at 13.1% (25.5 kgźha-1). The share of 0+ age group vendace was determined to be 70%. This might explain the decrease in commercial vendace catches caused by poor environmental conditions and overfishing. It also forecasts an improvement in resources of this species in the coming years.

The analysis of private tests is presented in the article. The applicable tests refer to accelerations, the level of the sound pressure as well as to the sound power emitted by the passenger lift cabin at different technical conditions of the lift. For a group of lifting devices the accelerations were tested at three axes with the use of an accelerometer. The accelerometer was placed in the central part of the cabin with simultaneous measurement of the acoustic parameters with the sound analyzer equipped with sound volume double microphone probe. An attempt was made to determine the impact of the frame - cabin system construction as well as the lift’s technical condition on the recorded parameters. It can allow to establish the limit values of the lift structure parameters under which a rapid drop of comfort takes place, while travelling in the lift as well as to indicate those construction elements the modification of which would affect the improvement of the operation noiselessness.

W artykule zostały opisane wyniki analizy porównawczej sygnałów emisji akustycznej (EA) zarejestrowanych podczas generacji wyładowań niezupełnych (WNZ) wewnątrz kadzi transformatorowej wypełnionej olejem izolacyjnym, przy zasilaniu napięciem stałym i przemiennym. Analizę uzyskanych wyników wykonano w dziedzinie częstotliwościowej przy zastosowaniu transformaty Fouriera (ang. FFT) oraz w dziedzinie czasowo - częstotliwościowej przy wykorzystaniu krótko czasowego przekształcenia Fouriera (ang. STFT). Głównym celem przeprowadzonych analiz porównawczych było określenie możliwości zastosowania napięcia stałego do wyzwalania układu pomiarowego i wyznaczania czasu propagacji sygnałów EA.
In this paper the results of the researches on acoustic emission (AE) signals, which arise during the partial discharges (PD) generation inside transformer tank filled with synthetic oil, were described. Authors analysed AE signal evoked by DC and AC voltage. The signals registered as a function of time were then transformed into frequency domain using FFT and STFT. The solid voltage was used to determine the propagation time.

The paper describes an analysis of the possible parametric methods used to estimate the spectrum of short acoustic signals of law oscillations. These kinds of signals often appear in acoustic waves emitted by the temporomandibular joint as it moves [1-2,5]. There is reason to suppose that the frequency which is characteristic of these oscillations could be an essential parameter confirming the pathology of the joint under examination. The measurement of low oscillations is difficult and not accurate, especially when nonparametric methods are used. The paper presents the results of analysis of a simulated short oscillating pulse using the DFT non-parametric method and the parametric method of linear prediction, using Burg algorithm. Finally, results of patient analysis are given, using the FFT and parametric methods.

The article deals with the subject matter referring to the interference that may accompany measurements of vibroacoustic signals, generated by electric power transformers, taken by using the acoustic emission method under industrial conditions. Paper concerns measurement and analysis of internal, acoustic type disturbances, including the magnetostrictive vibrations of plate sets within the transformer core, caused by changes in the magnetic flux. Paper presents measurement results of acoustic interfering signals and results of analyses made in the frequency and time-frequency domains. Power spectral density, MUSIC pseudospectra, two- and three-dimensional short time Fourier transform spectrograms, continuous wavelet transform scalograms, discrete wavelet transform, and quantities of energy transferred are included in the paper.

This work presents the analysis of vibration signals by an approach consists of several mathematical tools more elaborate such as the Hilbert transform, kurtogram, which allows the detection of vibration defects in a simple and accurate way. The steps or methods inserted in the process one complementary to the other as scalar indicators generally used in monitoring to follow the evolution of the functioning of a machine when an abnormal functioning it must make a diagnosis to detect the failing element through the use of a process. The determination of the defective organs at an optimal time is a very important operation in the industrial maintenance, which keeps the equipment in a good condition and ensures the assiduity of work. To see the effectiveness of fault detection by the proposed approach by analyzing the real vibration signals of a bearing type 6025-SKF available on the Case Western Reserve University platform.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę analizy drgań parasejsmicznych, wzbudzanych robotami strzałowymi prowadzonymi w kopalniach odkrywkowych, przez zastosowanie różnych metod czasowo-częstotliwościowych, dających informacje o czasie trwania sygnału, jego strukturze częstotliwościowej jak również jego energii. Tak szeroki zakres informacji pozwala na zaproponowanie zastosowania wyników metody dopasowania krokowego (MP) do oceny oddziaływania drgań na obiekty budowlane.
The problems of analysis of vibrations induced by blasting works in open cast mines by the application of the various methods temporarily-frequency, giving information about during signal, its frequency structure as well as its energy in this paper. As a wide range of information makes it possible to propose the results of Matching Pursuit (MP) method to assess the impact vibrations on the building constructions.

In this paper, complex signal analyses of ground penetrating radar (GPR) field data over an area of farmland in Krakow were interpreted alongside the basic filtered field data. The farmland was simulated with varying degrees of soil compaction induced by tractor movement. The focus of the study was the delineation of inherent characteristics of media through which the electromagnetic energy travelled. Fourteen GPR profiles were acquired from the area. The field data were subjected to pre- and post-processing prior to its the presentation and interpretation. Advance analysis operations on the field data which resorted in different attributes reveal more about the effects of the compaction on the soil than indicated by the basic filtered field data. Better resolution of subsurface layers boundary and lateral variation in the physical properties of the traversing media were well elucidated. The results have demonstrated that an advanced signal processing such as used in the study has ability to depict subtle characteristics of the propagating media.

Opis:
This paper presents some aspects of the on-line remote fetal monitoring system based on the GPRS data transmission service and WAN network. The remote signal recording instrumentation consists of bioelectrical signal recorder and tablet PC computer. The central surveillance system located in hospital has a capability of simultaneous monitoring of up to 24 patients, both remotely and within hospital. The system enables analysis, dynamic presentation and archiving of signals and medical data. The clinical interpretation is immediately available in hospital as well as at patient's home or attending doctor office.

Subject matter of this paper applies to improvement of acoustic emission method used in the diagnosis of on load tap changers of high power transformers. During measurement of acoustic emission signals generated by damages or defects, which can appear in insulation system and in the power transformer tap changers, various forms of noise signals may occur. Interferences occurring during measurements under laboratory and under industrial conditions can be generated either by sources placed inside the studied electric power device or they can be emitted in their immediate vicinity. Sources of interfering signals are physical phenomena of a mechanical, electrical or acoustical nature. Interferences appearing during measurement of acoustic emission pulses generated by electrical discharges and other types of defects that overlap the measured waveforms may result in their distortion. As part of the research conducted, the results of which are presented in this paper, following was subjected under consideration: measurements of acoustic noise signals generated by partial surface discharges occurring on support and bushing insulators were performed.

Introduction. The study of electrical activity peculiarities in the cerebral cortex among people with different levels of anxiety and the dependence of EEG rhythms from the level of personal anxiety (PA) is relevant and needs to be studied. As a result of our research, we have found that during the baseline EEG among people with a moderate level of personal anxiety, the intensity of alpha rhythm predominates in the posterior areas of the cerebral cortex. People with a high level of PA had the highest rates of beta rhythm intensity. An inverse relationship between EEG main rhythms and the level of anxiety is noted. Thus, people, who were involved in our study, with the moderate level of PA had the following results: the steadier the PA, the less the intensity of the PA level. People with a high level of PA had positive connections between the alpha and beta rhythms and level of anxiety, as well as a higher activity in the right-hemisphere of the cortex, which indicates the contribution of this hemisphere in the high level PA in studies. Materials and method. The power of EEG rhythms among people (aged 18–22) with different levels of anxiety was studied. Registration of the cerebral cortex electrical activity was carried out using the «Neurocom».device. During the electroencephalogram recording, electrodes were placed on the international system 10/20. The spectral power values were analyzed in the standard physiological frequency bands: delta (1–4 Hz), theta (4–8 Hz), alpha (8–14 Hz), beta (14–35 Hz). For the spectral EEG characteristics, an absolute (ACP, μV) and relative spectral power (RSP, %) were used. The analysis of power indices was carried out in a state of rest with closed eyes (baseline),and a state of rest with open eyes during task solving as an emotional load. Results. We have found that during the EEG baseline people with the moderate level of PA had high indexes of alpha rhythm in the posterior areas of the cerebral cortex. Eyes’ opening caused an increase of the intensity of theta rhythm in the frontal area of the cerebral cortex. During the intellectual task conducting, we noticed that the increase of intensity of beta rhythm in the frontal, temporal and end-lobe parts, whereas in the central and vertex parts of the cortex the intensity of theta rhythm predominated. Among people with a high level of PA during the baseline probe, the highest rates of beta rhythm intensity in the posterior areas of the cerebral cortex were fixed. In the state of rest with open eyes, the activity of theta rhythm was revealed. The alpha rhythm had the highest rates of intensity in the posterior area of the right hemisphere. During the intellectual task, the intensity of beta rhythm predominated. In the frontal and central parts of the cortex, the intensity of theta rhythm predominated. Conclusions. During the baseline probe among people with a moderate level of PA, the intensity of alpha rhythm in the posterior areas of the cerebral cortex predominated, among people with a high level of PA – beta rhythm. eyes open caused an increase in the intensity of theta rhythm in the frontal area of the cerebral cortex of people with a moderate level of PA, and alpha rhythm in the posterior area of the right hemisphere. During the intellectual task conducted among people with a moderate level of PA, we noticed an increase in beta rhythm intensity in the frontal, temporal and end-lobe parts, but in the central and vertex parts of the cortex the intensity of theta rhythm predominated. While in another group of people who were involved in study, the intensity of beta rhythm predominated; in the frontal and central parts – theta rhythm. With a moderate level of PA, there were significant negative links between the level of anxiety and intensity of alpha, beta, theta rhythms. With a high level of PA, positive links between the intensity of alpha and beta rhythms and the level of anxiety were noticed; the intensity of EEG rhythms in this group of examined people was correlated with the right parts of the brain, which indicates to a big contribution of this part in the high level of PA among the examined people.

Opis:
The paper presents the test procedure for determining dynamic parameters of mechanical structures, by using the method of wavelet analysis of vibration signals as a response of the construction to impulse excitation. Basic mathematical foundations have been shown for a mechanical system with one degree of freedom and its generalization for mechanical systems with many degrees of freedom. The correct functioning of the programme, which is the implementation of procedure for the MATLAB platform, has been tested with the help of programmable simulation of vibration signals and sinusoidal mechanical signals. The author has presented the results of the identification of dynamic parameters of two, selected mechanical structures: a free hanging steel plate and an acoustic screen. The results have been verified by comparing them with those obtained by modal analysis.

This manuscript analyzes the operation of an interior permanent magnet (IPM) machine working as a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). The partial demagnetization operation is analyzed. To obtain more accurate voltages and currents of the machine, finite element analysis (FEA) is used in co-simulation with the full converter and the converter’s control algorithm. Direct field oriented control (DFOC) shows robustness by maintaining the speed even with a 25% demagnetized PMSG. Also, an analysis of the rotating reference frame DQ signals is done to asses demagnetization.

The paper presents the application of wavelet multiresolution analysis to injection diagnostics using vibro-acoustic signals. The vibroacoustic signals were acquired in a research bench for testing the Diesel engine injectors. This measurement of vibroacoustic signal is carried out using mems accelerometer mounted to a reactive cylinder with real injector placed centrally inside it. Estimation of fuel spraying parameters was done by comparison of recorded vibroacoustic signals of correctly working injector and injector with simulated malfunction resulting in incorrect injector stream. For each original signal the 6 multiresolution approximation components were taken into account and for each signal and all components some chosen parameters were calculated. Then the suitable simple classifier was designed to distinguish between correctly and incorrectly working injector. The research results presented in the paper proved that some signal parameters obtained for high frequency multiresolution components can be used as diagnostic parameters for fault detection in injector testing bench applications.
