Opis:
The problem of evaluating and defining physical endurance of athletes has been the subject of a great body of research and scientific discussion. In team sports, especially football, the energy protection of working muscles in players requires the use of almost all metabolic pathways: aerobic, anaerobic and aerobic-anaerobic. Because of the varying pace of action, the share of energy conversions in muscle cells changes rapidly during a match. Another concern voiced by scientists and football coaches is the question of whether fitness training should always be performed with football balls. The aim of this paper was to present the necessity of monitoring the development of aerobic fitness in football players, and also to answer the question of whether motoric training in football may be performed with balls.

Opis:
The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of the proposed training program on some physiological and body composition variables of 24 volunteered youth male football players who under 20 years old (U20, age: 16–19 years, mean age: 17.3 ±1.0 years, playing for last 4–6 years). Those 24 players were divided into 2 groups, 12 players (experimental group), 12 players (control group). The training program consisted of aerobic training, anaerobic training, recreational game and practice football game. Data was collected at zero level (pre-test), in the mid of the program (mid-test) and at the end of program (post-test). For analysing data, repeated measures were used. In the experimental group a significant increase (P < 0.05) in number of shuttles, skeletal muscle, and resting metabolism and a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in body fat have been noted in (mid-test) and (post-test) when compared to (pre-test). However, a decrease was noted in body mass index, blood lactate, maximal heart rate, and visceral fat, but not to a significantly different level. In the control group negative significant increase (P < 0.05) in body fat and negative significant decrease (P < 0.05) in skeletal muscle and resting metabolism have been noted, no significant difference was observed in number of shuttle, body mass index, blood lactate, maximum heart rate and visceral fat. This study would provide useful information for training and exercise physiology and it may have a beneficial impact on health.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to compare the effect of an increasing-distance interval-training program and a decreasing-distance interval-training program, matched for total distance, on aerobic and anaerobic performance capabilities. Forty physical education students were randomly assigned to either increasing- or decreasing-distance interval-training group (ITG and DTG), and completed two similar sets of tests before and after six weeks of training. One training program consisted of 100 – 200 – 300 – 400 – 500m running intervals, and the other 500 – 400 – 300 – 200 - 100m. While both training programs led to a significant improvement in 2000m run (ES = 0.02-0.68), the improvement in the DTG was significantly greater than in the ITG (18.3 ± 3.6 vs. 12.2 ± 3.2 %, p< 0.05). In addition, while both training programs led to a significant improvement in 300m run (ES = 0.25-0.73), the improvement in the DTG was significantly greater than in the ITG (21.1 ± 1.8 vs. 15.4 ± 1.1 %, p< 0.05). The findings indicate that beyond the significant positive effects of both training programs, the DTG showed significant superiority over the ITG in improving aerobic and anaerobic performance capabilities. Athletes should acknowledge that, in spite of identical total work, interval-training program might induce different physiological impacts if order of intervals is different.

Opis:
Deer antler velvet (DAV) supplementation purportedly increases athletic performance; however, little data support this claim. The primary aim of our study is to examine DAV and exercise performance. We randomized 32 men (18–35 y) participating exclusively in resistance training (>4 y) to 10-weeks of randomly assigned, double blind, DAV (1350 mg, 2×/day) or placebo treatments. Primary outcomes included maximal aerobic capacity (VO2max), maximal strength (1RM; bench press and squat) and anaerobic cycling power. Secondary outcomes included comprehensive blood profiles and body composition. We used general linear models to determine changes following treatment. Eighteen participants (n = 9) completed the study with DAV participants showing significant improvements in VO2max (4.30 ±0.45 to 4.72 ±0.60 L/min, P < 0.04). The placebo and DAV groups increased bench press and squat 1RM (both, P < 0.04); yet, when expressed relative to body mass, only the DAV group showed significant bench press (4%) and squat (10%; both, P < 0.02). Neither group improved cycling performance or showed adverse changes in blood chemistries. We did observe a significant reduction in LDL-C (12%) accompanying DAV supplementation and both groups significantly reduced percent body fat (P < 0.05). Our results suggest that DAV may have ergogenic effects in men participating solely in resistance training.

Triathlon is dev eloping very quickly nowadays. In our paper we are interested in cross triathlon. The road bike is replaced by the mtb mountain bike and the run is also done in the mountain. Triathlon is the endurance kind of sport where the AeT’s (aerobical threshold) a nd AnT’s (anaerobical threshold) level is the basic indicator of a sports performance. The curve of the both thresholds changes under the influence of a lot of factors during the year. We studied the influence of the running preparation on the aerobic and anaerobic threshold at the cross triathlon specialist during one year. We monitored the level, especially the changes in the sports performance during the ATC (annual training cycle). We valued the training proccess, the quantization of the training load and its influence on the triathlet’s performance with the intraindividual analysis. We gained the necessary data from the training diary and with help of the tests realized in the laboratory conditions .We detected the speed at the aerobic and anaerobic thr eshold by the running belt. Then we corelated them with the training parameters and we found out the addaction. We followed their actual influence on the performace and the influence of the training paramaters in the time intervals.

Opis:
Introduction: This study's purpose was to measure and compare isokinetic muscle function and anaerobic exercise capacity of knee joints according to the three Kukki Taekwondo competition types. Methods: A total of 21 elite Korean male poomsae (forms), gyorugi (sparring), and demonstration athletes majoring in Taekwondo were selected as the subjects of the study. Subjects' physical fitness levels were measured using standardized strength, endurance, agility, balance, and flexibility tests. In particular, the isokinetic muscle function measurement system was used to measure the muscle function of subjects' knee joints, and the Wingate test was used to measure their anaerobic exercise ability. Results: Gyorugi athletes showed better results than their poomsae and demonstration counterparts in nearly all metrics, including body composition, physical fitness factors, isokinetic muscle function (60°/sec), muscle power (180°/sec), and anaerobic exercise capacity. Gyorugi athletes were also taller and showed higher muscle mass, strength, muscular endurance, and agility. However, poomsae athletes showed a higher level of flexibility. The results found isokinetic muscle function and anaerobic exercise capacity of the knee joint to be most important for gyorugi athletes and then for demonstration and poomsae athletes, in that order. Conclusions: This study provides useful information needed to identify the physical fitness factors of the different Kukki Taekwondo athletes, and, in turn, it is may serve as important fundamental data for developing future systematic Taekwondo training programs.

Opis:
Introduction: Modern volleyball requires players to present a high level of strength and speed fitness. Efficiency in this discipline is also significantly determined by the level of development of the somatic features, including especially body height and shoulder range. The main aim of the study was to assess the level of development of the most important morpho-functional features characterizing female volleyball players at high sports level against the background of non-training women. Material and methods: 13 female players representing the 1st league volleyball club took part in the research. The control group consisted of 11 women not exercising any form of competitive sport. Measurements of basic somatic features were carried out: body height, body weight and its tissue components. In addition, explosive strength of the lower limbs tests (CMJ) and the Wingate test was performed. On the basis of statistical analysis, the most important somatic features and motor fitness indicators characterizing I-league volleyballers were selected. Results: The greatest differences between volleyball players and non-training women in terms of morphological features was recorded for lean body mass (LBM [kg], Z = 6.63, p <0.01). However, in terms of motor fitness indicators, the largest differences were found in terms of peak power, average power and CMJ [cm] and CMJ power [W/kg]. Calculated, respectively: Z = 2.59, p <0.001; Z = 3.22, p <0.001; Z = 2.75, p <0.001, Z = 2.54, p <0.001). Conclusions: Our research confirmed importance of selected morpho-functional features conducive to high efficiency of Female’s volleyball. Jumping tests (e.g. CMJ) assessing the motor potential of lower limbs of volleyball players have practical value in the context of recruitment, selection and control of female's volleyball training. The Wingate test, as a diagnostic tool, can be used as an adjunct to retinal specific tests.
Materiał i metody: W badaniach wzięło udział 13 zawodniczek reprezentujących I-ligowy klub siatkarski. Grupę kontrolną stanowiło 11 kobiet nietrenujących żadnej formy sportu. Przeprowadzono pomiary podstawowych cech budowy somatycznej: wysokość ciała, masę ciała i jej komponenty tkankowe. Ponadto zmierzono siłę eksplozywną kończyn dolnych (CMJ) oraz przeprowadzono test Wingate. Na podstawie analizy statystycznej wyselekcjonowano najistotniejsze cechy budowy somatycznej i wskaźniki sprawności motorycznej charakteryzujące I-ligowe siatkarki. Wyniki: Największe zróżnicowanie pomiędzy siatkarkami a nietrenującymi w zakresie cech morfologicznych odnotowano dla masy ciała szczupłego (LBM [kg], Z=6,63, p<0,01). Natomiast w zakresie wskaźników wysiłkowych największe różnice stwierdzono w zakresie piku mocy, mocy średniej oraz wyskoku CMJ i mocy względnej wyskoku CMJ. Obliczono odpowiednio: Z=2,59, p<0,001; Z=3,22, p<0,001; Z=2,75, p<0,001, Z=2,54, p<0,001). Wnioski: Badania własne wykazały i potwierdziły wysokie znaczenie wybranych cech morfo-funkcjonalnych sprzyjających wysokiej efektywności gry w siatkówce kobiet.
