Opis:
This paper presents flow-aware routing protocol (FARP), a new routing strategy designed to improve load balancing and scalability in mobile ad hoc networks. FARP is a hop-by-hop routing protocol, which introduces a flow-aware route discovery strategy to reduce the number of control overheads propagating through the network and distributes the flow of data through least congested nodes to balance the network traffic. FARP was implemented in GloMoSim and compared with AODV. To investigate the load distribution capability of FARP new performance metrics were introduced to measure the data packet flow distribution capability of the each routing protocol. The simulation results obtained illustrate that FARP achieves high levels of throughput, reduces the level of control overheads during route discovery and distributes the network load more evenly between nodes when compared to AODV. This paper also describes a number of alternative strategies and improvements for the FARP.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to give a big survey in enhancing the balance of the routing load and the consumption of resources using network layer metrics for the path discovery in the MAODV protocol. A ad hoc network (AD HOC NETWORKS) consists of a collection of wireless mobile nodes, which form a temporary network without relying on any existing infrastructure or centralized administration. The bandwidth of the ad hoc networks architecture is limited and shared between the participating nodes in the network, therefore an efficient utilization of the network bandwidth is very important. Multicasting technology can minimize the consumption of the link bandwidth and reduce the communication cost too. As multimedia and group-oriented computing gains more popularity for users of ad hoc networks, the effective Quality of Service (QoS) of the multicasting protocol plays a significant role in ad hoc networks. In this paper we propose a reconstruction of the MAODV protocol by extending some featuring QoS in MAODV. All simulations are prepared with the NS2 simulator and compare the performance of this algorithm with the MAODV algorithm. The achieved results illustrate faster path discovery and more performing routing balance in the use of MAODV-Extension.This paper would give relatively a modest support in Mobile Technology according to QoS communication.

In recent years, Vehicles are becomes the more intellectual system which is operated with the help of radio communications. Thus the vehicles are formed the network for communications based on the mobile Ad- hoc network (MANET) which is called as Vehicular Ad-hoc Network (VANET). However security in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) should become great challenges, due to communication development, because of dynamically changing protocols, high mobility of vehicles and also high partitioned network. In this paper we address the security requirements of vehicles and needed mechanisms to avoid the threats and attacks in VANET.

The multicasting technique supports a variety of applications that require data to be instantaneously transmitted to a set of destination nodes. In environments with continuously moving nodes, such as mobile ad-hoc networks, the search for efficient routes from sources to the projected destinations is a common issue. Proposed Windmill protocol provides a scalable multicast solution for mobile ad-hoc networks. Windmill aims to improve routing protocol’s performance by introducing a hierarchal distributed routing algorithm and dividing the area into zones. Additionally, it attempts to demonstrate better scalability, performance and robustness when faced with frequent topology changes, by utilizing restricted directional flooding. A detailed and extensive simulated performance evaluation has been conducted to assess Windmill and compare it with multicast ad-hoc on-demand distance vector (MAODV) and on-demand multicast routing protocols (ODMRP). Simulation results show that the three protocols achieved high packet delivery rates in most scenarios. Results also show that Windmill is capable of achieving scalability by maintaining the minimum packet routing load, even upon increasing the nodes’ speed, the number of sources, the number of group members and the size of the simulated network. The results also indicate that it offers superior performance and is well suited for ad-hoc wireless networks with mobile hosts. The trade-off of using Windmill consists in slightly longer paths – a characteristic that makes it a good choice for applications that require simultaneous data transmission to a large set of nodes.

Opis:
Vehicular Ad-hoc network (VANET) is an exacting form of Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) where the vehicles are act as nodes. Due to high mobility of nodes, high partitioned network and also dynamic changing routing protocols, the routing in Vanet is dispute one. The routing protocols functions should depends on the internal and external characteristics of VANET such as nodes mobility, road topology and obstacles which block the signal. A routing protocol is used to find the route between the nodes to communicate each other. The particular route to be selected by routing protocol. The routers have the information about the network which is directly connected to it. The routing protocol first forward the information to the immediate neighbor node, then it forward the information throughout the network. In VANET the routing protocol are classify based on topology, position of vehicle, cluster based vehicle, broadcast based routing and geocast based routing. This article explains the topology based routing protocol, especially reactive routing protocol which is a part of the topology based routing protocol.

Opis:
Cognitive radio is a new communication paradigm that is able to solve the problem of spectrum scarcity in wireless networks. In this paper, interference aware routing game, (IRG), is proposed that connects the flow initiators to the destinations. A network formation game among secondary users (SUs) is formulated in which each secondary user aims to maximize its utility, while it reduces the aggregate interference on the primary users (PUs) and the end-to-end delay. In order to reduce the end-to-end delay and the accumulated interference, the IRG algorithm selects upstream neighbors in a view point of the sender. To model the interference between SUs, IRG uses the signal-to-interference-plus noise (SINR) model. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated by evaluating the aggregate interference from SUs to the PUs and end-to-end delay. A comprehensive numerical evaluation is performed, which shows that the performance of the proposed algorithm is significantly better than the Interference Aware Routing (IAR) using network formation game in cognitive radio mesh networks.

With the growing interest towards the Internet of Things IPv6-based mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) become a key enabling technology offering the possibility of automated, unsupervised network configuration and operation. Such a functionality calls for an accurate and reliable testing of the newly proposed solutions, which is challenging due to the dynamic, decentralized and ad hoc nature of MANETs. In this work selected topics are presented on performing IPv6 protocols experimentation in wireless, IPv6-only mobile ad hoc networks – including both simulation – and testbed-based evaluation. Based on the authors experience with the evaluation of the extended IPv6 Neighbor Discovery protocol (ND++) proposed during the course of research, the selection of an opensource simulation environment is presented and a comparison between simulation and emulation experimentation methods is provided. Benefits and drawbacks of both these methodologies for testing IPv6 solutions are depicted. Moreover, the important aspects of topology and mobility considerations are considered. Finally the authors pro.ose a testing approach that would allow for a detailed and accurate evaluation by means of open-source, easily accessible and low-cost methodologies.

Opis:
Dynamic ad hoc networks facilitate interconnections between mobile devices without the support of any network infrastructure. In this paper, we propose a secure identity-based ad hoc protocol for mobile devices to construct a group key for a setup of a secure communication network in an efficient way and support dynamic changing of network topology. Unlike group key management protocols proposed previously in the literature, mobile devices can use our protocol to construct the group key by observing the others' identity, like the MAC address, which distinguishes the device from the others. In contrast to other interactive protocols, we only need one broadcast to setup the group key and member removal is also highly efficient. Finally, we discuss the security issues and provide security proofs for our protocol.
