    Pseudo MV-algebras (see e.g., [4, 6, 8]) are non-commutative extension of MV-algebras. We show that every pseudo MV-algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of action functions where the binary operation is function composition, zero is x ∧ y and unit is x. Then we define the so-called difference functions in pseudo MV-algebras and show how a pseudo MV-algebra can be reconstructed by them.

    W artykule przedstawiono możliwość wykorzystania funkcji działania w ujęciu praktycznym. W tym celu przeprowadzono eksperyment czynny, w którym przeprowadzono szereg prób zmęczeniowych wału napędowego prostego układu mechanicznego, pracującego w warunkach utraty współosiowości. Zastosowana funkcja działania wartościuje generowane dodatkowe procesy towarzyszące obracaniu się wału. Są to tak zwane procesy resztkowe, które ujawniają się w postaci: drgań mechanicznych, wydzielania ciepła i emisji fal sprężystych generowanych w materiale konstrukcyjnym. Rezultatem badań jest opracowany model diagnostyczny trwałości wału napędowego z wykorzystaniem funkcji działania.

    Badano inicjowanie spłonek elektrycznych impulsami o stałej energii i 3 poziomach mocy: P ~1 W, P ~1 kW do P ~1 MW. Porównywano działanie spłonek z mostkiem metalicznym połączonych z zapłonnikiem (SI), pobudzanych ze stałą energią dysponowaną ok. 20 mJ i spłonek z rezystancją rozłożoną w mieszaninie pirotechnicznej (SII), pobudzanych ze stałą energią dysponowaną ok. 200 mJ. Zobrazowano kilkukrotne „podimpulsy” prądowe prowadzące do jednego pobudzenia SII. Średnie opóźnienie zadziałania malało od 8,7 ms przy P ~1 W do 133 µs przy P ~1 MW dla SI oraz od ok. 90 µs przy P ~1 kW do ok. 50 µs przy P ~1 MW dla SII, przy czym od P ~1 kW dla obu rodzajów spłonek praktycznie nie zmieniało się. Przedyskutowano mechanizmy pobudzenia i czynniki wpływające na mierzone opóźnienia. Wyznaczono średnie energie pochłonięte do chwili zadziałania: 5-7 mJ dla SI, ok. 15 mJ dla SII. Oszacowano końcowe ciśnienia: 300-400 bar w korpusach spłonek/zapłonników.
    Initiation of electric primers by pulses of constant energy at 3 different levels of power from P ~1 W to P ~1 MW was investigated. Actions of primers with metallic electric bridge (SI) connected to an exploder and initiated by permanent disposable energy of ca. 20 mJ were compared to primers with the resistance distributed within a pyrotechnic mixture (SII) initiated by permanent disposable energy of ca. 200 mJ. A series of current “sub-pulses” at one activation of SII is shown. Average delay of activation was reduced from 8.7 ms at P ~1 W to 133 mikro s at P ~1 MW for SI, and from ca. 90 mikro s at P ~1 kW to ca. 50 mikro s at P ~1 MW for SII, to be in practice unchangeable above P ~1 kW for two types of primers. Mechanisms of initiation and factors influencing the measured delays were discussed. Average energies absorbed to the moment of activation were determined: 5-7 mJ for SI, and ca.15 mJ for SII. Final pressures inside the casing of primers/igniters were estimated on the level of 300-400 bar.

    The article concerns the possibility of performing an action in dogmatically grasped the structure of the offense. Seized in the position that the ability to perform actions should be determined based on the pattern bedded corresponding to the characteristics of the entity that action have not done, and not based on a standard passenger corresponding to the characteristics of another party, and also recognized that the ability to perform an action is conditioned by knowledge as to how to proceed in order to perform this action. It is also assumed that the possibility of action is constitutive for the omission, and therefore it is subject to this kind of behavior which is the object of penal law evaluation.

    The article presents theoretical considerations on the changes in the perception of the function and role of the teacher, responding to the dynamics of modern society. The major directions of change may include: prepare learners to be independent of cognitive, inspiring of development, and introduction to the world of knowledge (Kwiatkowska, 2008, p. 41-45). Modern teacher of adult people, to be ready to meet these requirements should be assisted in the process of improvement and self-education, and one of the proposals to prepare them for the new features is the idea of reflective practice. Recent years have shown increased interest in teacher education in the direction of reflective practitioners, mainly through action research. Modern teacher is not only a professional who teaches well, but also creates knowledge. Action research are currently the subject of increasing interest to researchers and the practitioners, because of the possibility of personal development and the efficient movement in an increasingly complex and ambiguous reality.

    Opis:
    Non-cooperative games such as the Prisoner’s Dilemma, Stag Hunt, Asymmetric Coordination and others are primary tools used for modeling collective action. I consider formal models that are close cousins of such standard games: Schelling’s games, Kuran’s dominos and partition function form games. For certain empirical problems, each of these formalisms may have advantages over standard games. Among the benefi ts there are mathematical simplicity, more intuitive depiction of represented phenomena, and better operationalizability. I formalize all three models and prove simple existence theorems for two of them. The detailed examples of applications include vaccination, unpredictability of revolutions, and electoral coalitions.

    We define a class of $ℤ^d$-actions, d ≥ 2, called product $ℤ^d$-actions. For every such action we find a connection between its spectrum and the spectra of automorphisms generating this action. We prove that for any subset A of the positive integers such that 1 ∈ A there exists a weakly mixing $ℤ^d$-action, d≥2, having A as the set of essential values of its multiplicity function. We also apply this class to construct an ergodic $ℤ^d$-action with Lebesgue component of multiplicity $2^d k$, where k is an arbitrary positive integer.

    The exposure of Toyota management’s cover-up of its faulty car component problems raises a fundamental question: did Toyota management make an appropriate decision taking all uncertainties into account? Statistical decision theory is a framework with a probabilistic foundation, which admits random uncertainty about the real world and human thinking. In general, the uncertainty of the real world is diversified and therefore the effort of trying to deal with different forms of uncertainty with one special form of uncertainty, namely random uncertainty, may be oversimplified. In this paper, we introduce an axiomatic uncertain measure theoretical framework and explore the essential mechanism in formulating a general uncertainty decision theory. We expect that a new understanding of uncertainty and development of a corresponding new uncertainty decision-making approach may assist intelligence communities to survive and deal with the extremely tough and diverse aspects of an uncertain reality.

    W pracy zaprezentowano główne założenia projektu europejskiego SOFIA, podejmującego próbę zbudowania systemu umożliwiającego automatyczne sprowadzenie samolotu na ziemię w przypadku wystąpienia na jego pokładzie działań o charakterze terrorystycznym. Podana została ogólna struktura systemu oraz omówiono przyjęte sposoby jego implementacji na czterech platformach badawczych: trzech symulatorach oraz dwóch samolotach: I23 Manager oraz D42 Diamond. Kolejno przedstawiono ogólne założenia planu badań oraz zaprezentowano i omówiono wybrane wyniki prób w locie.
    In the article main assumptions of the SOFIA VI FP are presented. The SOFIA project is a response to the challenge of development concepts and techniques enabling the aircraft to return automatically and safely to the airport in case of hostile actions on board. The main structure of Flight Reconfiguration Function module was presented as well as some problems, which appeared during the implementation on four experimental platforms, are discussed. Such platforms are: two research simulators and two aircraft. As a conclusion, the test trials program and some remarks about test flights results are provided.

    Intensywny rozwój fizyczny, emocjonalno-społeczny, poznawczy i moralny dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym sprawia, że interwencja profilaktyczna wprowadzona w tak wczesnym wieku może przynieść korzyści i prowadzić do znaczących zmian w teraźniejszym i przyszłym funkcjonowaniu dziecka. Dynamiczny rozwój funkcji wykonawczych, który przypada na 4–5 rok życia dziecka, wspomagany w ramach działań profilaktycznych, może się przyczynić do wzmocnienia gotowości szkolnej, wyższych wyników w zakresie umiejętności językowych, matematycznych oraz kompetencji społecznych. W artykule przedstawiono pojęcie funkcji wykonawczych i ich typy. Metodą badawczą zastosowaną do pogłębienia wiedzy na temat umiejętności wykonawczych i ich znaczenia dla rozwoju dzieci była analiza treści. Uwzględniono również argumenty za tworzeniem dzieciom warunków do rozwoju funkcji wykonawczych jako czynnika chroniącego w kolejnych latach edukacji przed przyszłymi zachowaniami antyspołecznymi, uzależnieniami behawioralnymi oraz od substancji psychoaktywnych. W ostatniej części zaprezentowano przykłady działań wczesnej profilaktyki, które można włączyć do edukacji dziecka w wieku przedszkolnym.
    The intensive physical, socio-emotional, cognitive and moral development of children at pre-school age means that preventive intervention introduced at such an early age can bring benefits and lead to significant changes in the child’s present and future functioning. When supported as a part of preventive activities, the dynamic development of executive functions which falls around the age of 4–5 in a child’s life can contribute to the strengthening of school readiness, and higher results in the following areas: language skills, mathematics and social competences. In the article, the author has presented the concept of executive functions and their types. Also taken into account are arguments for creating conditions for children to develop executive functions as a factor protecting their educational development against future anti-social behavior, behavioral addictions and psychoactive substances. In the last part, the author presents examples of early prevention measures that can be included in the education of a pre-school child.

    Ontologic structures in a socio-political editorial – a socio-cognitive approachThe aim of the present study is to analyze the conceptualization of ontological structures in a special type of journalistic writing represented by a socio-political editorial. According to the socio-cognitive approach (Goffman, Langacker), the author discusses the problem of discursive mechanisms related to the persuasive function of language and classification. Therefore, in basis of the gathered linguistic corpus, which constitutes of forty French editorials, treating about university and public service pension reforms, culled from the web pages of different journals and magazines (2007–2008), the author intends to describe the distribution of two semantic roles such as agent and patient (by means of the synthetic scheme presented in this paper) in the context of the persuasiveness of media communication. The way of constructing the semantic roles of participants both influences and modifies the readers’ opinions and their perception of the world.

    Ps 18 jest trzecim najdłuższym w Psałterzu. Swe znaczenie jednak zawdzięcza nie tyle swej długości; wynika ono również i przede wszystkim z faktu, że psalm ten spełnia funkcję podsumowującą: podobnie jak jego dublet znajduje się na końcu Ksiąg Samuela (2 Sm 22), tak Ps 18 wieńczy pierwszą podsekcję pierwszej księgi Psałterza (Ps 1–18). Jego tytuł, szczególnie rozwinięty, to sugeruje: „w dniu, w którym Yhwh wybawił go z ręki wszystkich jego wrogów i z ręki Saula”. Poemat zawiera siedem fragmentów ułożonych koncentrycznie wokół deklaracji o niewinności (w. 21-30), która jednak nie przestaje stwarzać problemy. Stwierdzenie, że te wersety są późniejsze, nie usuwa trudności, a faktycznie świadczy jedynie o niezdolności do rozwiązania zagadki, która jest zawsze w centrum tej koncentrycznej kompozycji. Klucz nie pozostaje ukryty, lecz jest zaoferowany w formule, która wyznacza punkt zwrotny tekstu: „Z wiernymi jesteś wierny” (w. 26).
    Psalm 18 is the third longest in the Psalter. Still, its meaning is owed not so much to its length as mostly to the fact that the psalm fulfils a summarising function: similarly to its doublet that ends the Books of Samuel (2 Sm 22) Psalm 18 concludes the first subsection of the first book of the Psalter (Pss 1–18). It is suggested by its particularly expanded title: “when Yahweh had delivered him from all his enemies and from the clutches of Saul”. The poem includes seven fragments arranged concentrically around the declaration of innocence (vv. 21-30) which does not, however, cease to create problems. The statement that those verses are later does not eliminate the difficulties. In fact, it only indicates the inability to solve the riddle which is always in the centre of this concentric composition. The key is not hidden but offered in the formula that marks the turning point of the text: “You are faithful to the faithful” (v. 26).
    Le Ps 18 est le troisième plus long du Psautier. Son importance toutefois n’est pas seulement due à sa longueur; elle tient aussi et surtout au fait que ce psaume remplit une fonction conclusive: de même en effet que son double se trouve à la fin des livres de Samuel (2S 22), ainsi le Ps 18 conclut la première sous-section du premier livre des psaumes (Ps 1–18). Son titre, particulièrement développé, le laisse entendre: «au jour où Yhwh le délivra de la paume de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül». Le poème comprend sept passages organisés de manière concentrique autour d’une déclaration d’innocence (v. 21-30) qui ne laisse pas de poser problème. Prétendre que ces versets sont secondaires ne saurait lever la difficulté; cela ne fait, en réalité, que témoigner de l’impuissance à résoudre l’énigme que constitue toujours le centre d’une composition concentrique. La clé n’est pas cachée, elle offerte dans la formule qui marque le tournant du texte: «Avec le fidèle tu es fidèle» (v. 26).
