Kayaking requires muscle activity alternating right and left sides of the body. Therefore, you should improve Symmetrization movements. However, kayakers characterized by a high asymmetry in the effects of exercise, including paddling. For the diagnose the asymmetry examined Symmetrization throws performed single-handedly. The paper presents the results of measurements of 14 female kayakers aged over 18 years and 60 female kayakers aged 15–16 years and 35 female kayakers aged 17–18 years. All subjects performed throws the ball one-handed, first in sitting position with your legs straight, and then a running length of 3 meters. All the throws were repeated three times. For the analysis we accepted the results of the longest throws. It was found that with increasing age length of the throws. It does not change the difference between the distance throws made in a sitting position and standing position. This demonstrates the lack of improvement in the ability to use the course to extend throws. Paddling will increase symmetrization movements. The result is getting smaller differences in length throws made right and left limb.

Measured maximum power of the lower limbs women - members of the Polish national tennis team. We found a relationships between the maximum power and a place in the ranking of sports. The study involved the leading tennis player in the world, with players in the Federation Cup (n = 4) – age 22 years, training experience 13 years. The control group – female recreational practicing tennis – age 21 years (n = 11). The maximum power of the lower limbs were measured in series of vertical jump. It was found that the players graded higher in the ranking sports are characterized by higher values of maximum power of the lower limbs less trained tennis players.

In this paper, methods of the geotechnical monitoring and results of the first stage of mathematical modelling in the Medieval Mine Jeronym in Czech Republic are presented. The mathematical modelling for the determination of stress-strain conditions and stability state in the six sections of the mine room K2 was realized by Plaxis programming system.
W artykule przedstawiono metody geotechnicznego monitoringu oraz wyniki pierwszego etapu modelowania matematycznego w średniowiecznej kopalni "Jeronym" w Republice Czeskiej. Modelowanie matematyczne dla określenia stanu naprężenia-odkształcenia i stanu stateczności sześciu odcinkach komory K2 zostało wykonane przy użyciu programu Plaxis.

The article presents method of preparing coalface and mining black coal seam with a thickness of 8.6 m. It further states the reasons why the procedure was selected. At the same time, a list of the coalface equipment and technology applied while the coalface was being cleared out after its completion is attached.
W artykule przedstawiono sposób przygotowania przodka i wydobycie pokładu węgla o grubości 8,6 m. Ponadto wskazano na powody wyboru procedury. Równocześnie załączono listę wyposażenia przodka oraz stosowane techniki podczas wybierania przodka, aż do momentu jego zakończenia.

Opis:
The powders of 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine:chloranil charge transfer complex were studied by EPR. Numerical pack EPR-NMR was used to simulate and fit the X-band experimental data in the temperature range of 119-298 K. Very good agreement between the experiment and simulations permits to obtain the main values ofĝ matrix and plot their temperature dependence. At 150 K the main g values are g$\text{}_{xx}$=g$\text{}_{yy}$=2.0041 and g$\text{}_{zz}$=2.0015. g splitting factor varies significantly with temperature and shows an anomaly near 200 K. The signal narrows with the temperature increase, which agrees with the earlier observation. Individual component linewidth, used in the simulation is anisotropic and amounts to 0.1-0.8 mT; which is reasonable when compared with those measured earlier for the single crystals of p-phenylenediamine:chloranil, where the narrowest lines are quoted to be 18μT.

The presented paper is concerned with feature space derivation through feature selection. The selection is performed on results of kernel Principal Component Analysis (kPCA) of input data samples. Several criteria that drive feature selection process are introduced and their performance is assessed and compared against the reference approach, which is a combination of kPCA and most expressive feature reordering based on the Fisher linear discriminant criterion. It has been shown that some of the proposed modifications result in generating feature spaces with noticeably better (at the level of approximately 4%) class discrimination properties.

Miscanthus ×giganteus Greef et Deu. (Poaceae), a hybrid of Miscanthus sinensis and M. sacchariflorus native to Japan, is an ornamental and a highly lignocellulosic bioenergy crop, cultivated in the European Union as an alternative source of energy. This grass reproduces exclusively vegetatively, by rhizomes or via expensive in vitro micropropagation. The present study was aimed at finding the barriers that prevent sexual seed production, based on detailed embryological analyses of the whole generative cycle, including microsporogenesis, pollen viability, megasporogenesis, female gametophyte development, and embryo and endosperm formation. Sterility of M. ×giganteus results from abnormal development of both male and female gametophytes. Disturbed microsporogenesis (laggard chromosomes, univalents, micronuclei) was further highlighted by low pollen staining. The frequency of stainable pollen ranged from 13.9% to 55.3% depending on the pollen staining test, and no pollen germination was observed either in vitro or in planta. The wide range of pollen sizes (25.5–47.6 μm) clearly indicated unbalanced pollen grain cytology, which evidently affected pollen germination. Only 9.7% of the ovules developed normally. No zygotes nor embryos were found in any analyzed ovules. Sexual reproduction of M. ×giganteus is severely hampered by its allotriploid (2n=3x=57) nature. Hybrid sterility, a strong postzygotic barrier, prevents sexual reproduction and, therefore, seed formation in this taxon.

Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems (GDE) are important elements of biodiversity and providers of valuable goods and services to society. Preservation of their environmental functions in the face of increasing anthropogenic pressures on groundwater resources and progressive climate change depends on appropriate environmental policies and water resources management. A brief overview of current knowledge of the functioning of GDE and their relations with groundwater is given in the first part of the article. Effective incorporation of GDE into the policy and practice of water resources management depends on thorough understanding of how hydrogeological processes and human impacts influence the quantity and quality of groundwater available to ecosystems. Major scientific challenges in this regard are related to adequate representation of GDE in the conceptual and re lated numeri cal models of groundwater systems. An example of a GDE (Wielkie Błoto fen in southern Poland) is discussed in some detail in the second part of the article. It illustrates some of the pressures and threats which GDE located in densely populated regions of the European continent are experiencing nowadays. Selected research tools used to quantify those pressures and threats are described and discussed.
