Artykuł dotyczy działalności Jerzego Grotowskiego w okresie opolskim i historii Teatru 13 Rzędów w latach 1959–1964. Autorka wykorzystuje różnego typu dokumenty zgromadzone w trakcie długoletnich badań nad politycznymi uwarunkowaniami artystycznej działalności Grotowskiego: rozmowy ze świadkami, listy, wspomnienia, akta osobowe, dokumenty cenzury i materiały pochodzące z archiwów Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej (w tym raporty organów bezpieczeństwa oparte na donosach), aby naszkicować portret Grotowskiego jako dyrektora teatru. Dzięki zestawieniu i analizie tych dokumentów pokazuje skalę inwigilacji Teatru 13 Rzędów i prezentuje stosowane przez władzę metody niebezpośredniej kontroli artystów. W artykule pojawiają się kolejne argumenty na rzecz tezy, że opolskie doświadczenia pomogły Grotowskiemu-dyrektorowi wypracować skuteczne politycznie metody komunikacji z władzami i mediami, które umożliwiały mu zachowanie artystycznej autonomii.
This article discusses the activity of Jerzy Grotowski in Opole and the history of Teatr 13 Rzędów (Theatre of 13 Rows) in 1959–1964. The author makes use of various types of documents collected during her years-long research into the political context of Grotowski’s creative work: interviews with witnesses, letters, memoirs, personal files, censorship papers, and materials from the archives of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance (including reports prepared by the state security organs based on denunciations) in order to portray Grotowski as a theater manager. The juxtaposition and analysis of these documents shows the scale of the surveillance of the Theatre of 13 Rows and reveals the authorities’ methods of indirectly exerting control over the artists. The article provides new arguments to support the claim that the experience of working in Opole helped Grotowski the manager to develop politically effective methods of communication with the authorities and the media, which enabled him to retain his artistic autonomy.

Opis:
The parenting skills workshop named “It is not easy to be a parent” is an answer to the needs of parents, pedagogues, social workers, and guardians. The article is based on the author’s professional experience. Establishing effective communication with the parents who often feel lost and helpless, and presenting them with ways to bring up their children competently – how to listen to them, how to talk to them, how to set standards, how to support and help them in overcoming difficulties – are the basis of the presented workshops. The author presents the main assumptions of the programme as well as the expected results. Other important factors supporting the process of parents’ education, i.e. the diagnosis and identification of pedagogic problems, cooperation between institutions, motivational influence, and places and resources are also discussed.

In the new book Memosphere. Introduction to Cybercultural Studies (2017) Magdalena Kamińska publishes the result of her long-term studies on Internet-based culture and its components, such as netlore, lolcontent, memes and more. The book is focused on Polish cybercultural phenomena revealing their particularly local aspects, as well as pointing at the position of Polish cyberculture in the broader media landscape. Memosphere is comprised of a series of case studies, each developed thoroughly and discussed from various perspectives, such as netnography. The framework of the book is based on so-called rich points (after Michael H. Agar), chosen by Magdalena Kamińska in the attempt to find the most inspiring examples, including: various memes native to Polish culture, the Polish version of cyber-(n)ostalgy, the case of iuxtabrities (social-media bound cewebrities) or a circulation of counter knowledge. Some of the issues discussed in Memosphere have also been present in the realm of post-Internet art and examined by international researchers (O. Lialina, A.X. Mina, D. Quaranta) which proves their universal character within the global cyberculture. One of the most influential features of memes (after E. Zuckerberg) is an image of a cat (funny or cute), enabling the circulation of important, even serious or activist content. From digital naives, to digital natives, all the members of cyberculture become transmitters of memes and the prosumers of digital folklore. Also, Kamińska introduces her own proposal of the new methodology of cybercultural studies based on cultural studies as well as anthropology. The book proves that a demand for the branch of culture studies aimed at such a dynamic field of studies as cyberculture, is pivotal for the future development of cultural studies as an academic discipline. The main goal of our project was to preserve an original inventory from the former Orthodox Church in Odrzechowa (South-eastern Poland). Relics were found in the attic of the church. Students from the Crafts and Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage Club from Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and members of Society for Develepment Odrzechowa Village, picked up the gauntlet together to investigate and preserve discovered "treasure". "Odrzechowa secrets" project had three priorities. Beside preservation of the relics, artistic workshops for local society and open lectures about icon art and heritage preservation. Artistic workshops was connected with history of the church. Participants had the opportunity to paint an icon using traditional technology. Lectures about history and cultural heritage were given by employees of the local museum in Sanok. Thanks to our actions lots of original objects have been investigated and preserved (inter alia: pieces of three altars from XVIII and XIX century, iconostasis and procession crosses). Artistic workshops and lectures built a positive platform among residents for other cultural projects for preservation and promotion of local heritage.
Projekt „Tajemnice Odrzechowej” to wspólne przedsięwzięcie studenckiego Koła Rzemiosła i Ochrony Niematerialnego Dziedzictwa Kultury działającego na Wydziale Konserwacji i Restauracji Dzieł Sztuki warszawskiej ASP oraz Stowarzyszenia na Rzecz Rozwoju Wsi Odrzechowa. Głównym celem było uratowanie zabytkowego wyposażenia dawnej cerkwi w Odrzechowej (obecnie kościoła rzymskokatolickiego), które odnalezione zostało na strychu świątyni. Poza ochroną odnalezionych zabytków zaplanowana została również szeroka akcja edukacyjna oparta o warsztaty artystyczne oraz wykłady dotyczące sztuki cerkiewnej oraz ochrony dziedzictwa. Zajęcia plastyczne prowadzone były przez studentów, natomiast wykłady – przez pracowników Muzeum Budownictwa Ludowego w Sanoku. Dzięki naszym działaniom udało się zinwentaryzować oraz zabezpieczyć cenne obiekty, m.in fragmenty trzech ołtarzy bocznych, z XVIII i XIX wieku, elementy architektury ikonostasu oraz kilka drobnych ruchomaliów (m.in. krzyże procesyjne z XVIII i XIX wieku). Przeprowadzone warsztaty i wykłady wzbudziły wśród mieszkańców potrzebę podjęcia kolejnych inicjatyw mających na celu ochronę oraz promocję lokalnego dziedzictwa.

In this paper the combination of fingerprint verification methods with watermarking technology to provide copyright protection and authentication of digital images is proposed. The goal of this study is to investigate how watermarking processing affects the quality of biometric watermarks. Performed experiments showed that extracted fingerprint images have roughly equal verification performance even if some watermarked images undergo additional degradation. Proposed methodology will be improved using more sophisticated fingerprint verification methods and subsequently incorporated into multimodal watermarking schemes.

Czarny Paryż [The Back Paris] is a crime novel written by Jolanta Fuchsówna, journalist and writer, and Jan Brzękowski, leading poet of the Cracow Avant-garde who lived in Paris, and serialized in the Cracow daily Ilustrowany Kurier Codzienny in 1932, but not published as a book.In this article two typescripts of the novel are analyzed and compared with the printed text, taking note of all the corrections and amendments introduced by the authors. An integral supplement to this textual study is an extract from Chapter XIII ‘A Party in the Studio of the Japanese Man’ reproduced in two versions, 1) with footnotes and modernized spelling, and 2) the original text from the typescript with all annotations.

Research background: Despite a dynamically growing exploration of broadly understood employee participation, there is still space left for more in-depth or new analyses in this area, and occupational health and safety (OHS) serves as a good example in this respect. In empirical studies, employee participation in the field of occupational health and safety is not treated as a separate element of ensuring safety in the organisation, but only as a minor element of occupational health and safety management, or as just one of the elements building a safety culture. Purpose of the article: The aim of the paper is to propose a synthetic measure of active employee participation in OHS taking into account the depth and scope of this participation. A comparative analysis of the level of active participation of OHS at medical facilities and in other sectors of the economy was also performed. Methods: The theoretical model for active employee participation in OHS was tested by means of a survey using the PAPI (Paper & Pen Personal Interview) method. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used. The developed construct (characterised by an adequately high level of validity and reliability) was used in a comparative analysis of medical institutions with other sectors of the economy with the use of the Mann?Whitney U test. Findings & value added: This research fills the theoretical gap in the model approach to participation in OHS. It has been found (EFA and CFA analyses) that active employee participation in OHS consists of one dimension (15 items). The model for active employee participation in OHS and the universal measurement scale developed and validated in this study represent a step forward towards the effective and reliable measurement of employee participation. In addition, the research has shown that the level of active employee participation in OHS at medical facilities is lower than in other sectors of the economy. The added value of this paper results from the approach to measuring employee participation in OHS which takes into account the depth and scope of this participation. The tool is consistent with international regulations and standards in the field of OHS, and thus can be used in other countries to assess active employee participation in OHS, regardless of the size and profile of the company or the sector of the economy.

The paper presents the results of a study on the water absorption capacity and solubility of biodegradable starch foams produced with single-screw extruder TS-45 with L/D=12. Two different moulding dies were used: one with a circular hole with the diameter of 3 mm and one with a ring hole with the inner diameter of 5 mm. During the extrusion process, the temperature of the cylinder ranged from 80 to 130°C and the screw speeds applied were: 100 and 130 rpm. For the application of the ring die, it was observed that regardless of the speed of the screw, the use of the raw material of higher moisture content led to the production of materials with higher solubility. As a result, the obtained materials revealed solubility at a level of 40%. The results demonstrate good solubility of the starchy fillers of the packaging, which may indicate their susceptibility to decomposition in the conditions of high ambient humidity. A statistical analysis showed a significant impact of moisture of the raw material on the WSI of starch foams used irrespective of the other parameters of the extrusion-cooking process. The raw material moisture had a significant effect on the water absorption capacity of only TPS foams produced in the ring die at the screw speed of 100 rpm.

Introduction and aim: Intra-abdominal abscesses can lead to serious complications (e.g. sepsis) and death. The aim of the pilot study is to study if the occurrence of hepatic and splenic abscesses depends on the seasons. Material and methods: The study was based on patients with abscesses of liver or spleen in imaging studies (ultrasound and CT scan) performed in the period 2007-2016 in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology of Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, taking dates of the examinations into consideration. Results: Out of the total number of studies abscesses in the abdomen (257), 52 studies were liver and spleen abscesses occurring in 42 patients. From the statistical analysis we obtained 17 studies carried out in winter, 8 - spring , 8 - summer and 9 - autumn. Chi-square test of goodness of fit showed a statistically significant increased value of abscesses in the number of tests diagnosed in winter in comparison to the other seasons (chi-square 5.212; p-value <0.1). Conclusion: The occurrence of hepatic and splenic abscesses is the highest in winter.
Wstęp i cele: Ropnie wewnątrzbrzuszne mogą prowadzić do poważnych powikłań (m.in. sepsy) i do śmierci. Celem badania jest określenie czy częstość występowania ropni wątroby oraz ropni śledziony zależy od pór roku. Materiał i metody: Przedmiotem badań są pacjenci z ropniami wątroby lub śledziony w badaniach obrazowych (USG oraz TK) wykonanych w latach 2007-2016 w Zakładzie Diagnostyki Obrazowej i Radiologii Interwencyjnej Pomorskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Szczecinie. Pod uwagę wzięto daty wykonania badania. Wyniki: Z całkowitej liczby badań ropni wewnątrzbrzusznych (257) 52 badania stanowiły ropnie wątroby oraz śledziony występujące ogółem u 42 pacjentów. Z analizy statystycznej uzyskano 17 badań wykonanych zimą, 8 wiosną, 8 latem oraz 9 jesienią. Test zgodności chi-kwadrat wykazał statystycznie istotny wzrost liczby badań z ropniami wykonanych zimą w odniesieniu do innych pór roku (chi-kwadrat 5,212 ; p-value <0,1). Wnioski: Częstość występowania ropni wątroby oraz ropni śledziony jest najwyższa zimą.

Opis:
Let A be a closed Gδ-subset of a normal space X. We prove that every function ƒ0 : A → R with a closed graph can be extended to a function ƒ: X → R with a closed graph, too. This is a consequence of a more general result which gives an affine and constructive method of obtaining such extensions.
