Opis:
Health resort treatment is an important element of the Polish health care system. An aging population, an increase in the amount of free time and income, as well as a healthy lifestyle trend are the main factors for the development of health tourism. West Pomeranian voivodeship ranks 3rd in the country in terms of the number of health resorts, as well as is the undisputed leader in terms of the number of people visiting Polish resorts. In 2017, over 25% of patients underwent medical treatment in health resorts in West Pomeranian voivodeship. The aim of the study was to analyze the potential of health resorts in West Pomeranian voivodeship and to assess the development of tourist traffic in health resorts in recent years. West Pomeranian voivodeship observes a steady increase in the number of health resort visitors using the services offered by health establishments and a changing structure of patients in regard to the financing method – there is a growing number of people who finance their stay in the health resort on their own. In order to maintain the leading position on the market of health tourism services, it is necessary to raise the standard of health services, carry out further investments in modern health resort infrastructure that is open to innovative and unconventional solutions combining traditional and modern methods of treatment as well as preventive healthcare and leisure. There is a need to constantly adapt the health tourism product to the changing needs of patients and to create new brand of products as well as acquire new groups of recipients who finance their stay in health establishments.

Social network of the population of West Pomerania, which is a part of the people of the sea, has a heterogeneous character in both – the structural and functional perspectives. The greater part of Szczecin inhabitants, the regional capital, is derived from the poorly urbanized areas and is not prepared to live and work in the port city. The theoretical and empirical basis for discussion in the article are the Author's own research and 70 years of scientific achievements of sociologists from West Pomerania. The article consists of three parts. The first discusses the problems of adaptation and migration to the new socio-cultural environment. The second part presents the process of formalization and institutionalization of sociological circles. Here began the first research and publication attempts. The third part is the university phase, which continue researches started earlier on people of the sea and littoral and extend it on international issues, published in own scientific journal Annuals of Marine Sociology and in other national and international publications and also in the “Szczecin Encyclopedia”, released on the issue of the 70th anniversary of the Szczecin City.

Opis:
Heavy metal pollution is an ever increasing problem of our lakes. These toxic heavy metals entering in aquatic environment are adsorbed onto particulate matter, although they can form free metal ions and soluble complexes that are available for uptake by biological organisms. The increase in residue levels of heavy metal content in water, sediments and biota has resulted in decreased productivity and increase in exposure of humans to harmful substances. Many of these metals tend to remain in the ecosystem and eventually move from one compartment to the other within the food chain. Food chain contamination by heavy metals has become a burning issue in recent years because of their potential accumulation in biosystems through contaminated water, soil, sediment and air. Dąbie Lake is an integral part of the River Odra estuary. It is a shallow (2.5 m mean depth) water body with two distinct basins: the large (Dąbie Wielkie) and the small (Dąbie Małe). The aim of the studies, carried out in the years 2008 - 2009, was to determine the content of Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb) and Zinc (Zn) in the waters of Dąbie Lake, being the internal part of the tertiary Odra estuary.

Opis:
The education of pastors is an important indicator of the gradual professionalisation of this occupation. In turn, this professionalisation is related on the one hand to the process of modernisation and the development of a modern, secularised society. On the other, it is to be placed among issues relevant to the formation of confessions and confessionalisation, and so those processes in the early part of the Early Modern era which deepened the “clericalisation” of society rather than contributed to its secularisation. The former approach does not of course preclude the latter, as the theory of confessionalisation – understood as the emergence of increasingly clear distinctions between confessions in the theological and organisational sense and the tightening of the relation between religion and politics in the individual states of the Holy Roman Empire – seeks to account for the emergence of the modern state and its obedient subjects-citizens. Pastors as a professional group played a very important role in this process, although a study by Schorn-Schütte shows some limitations of this interpretation, particularly regarding the everyday and family lives of pastors.

Opis:
Medievalism in its cultural and historiographic form took on specific forms in West Pomerania. A quarter of a century ago the period of the Polish People’s Republic ended. It was one of the instruments of social integration and the historical policy of the regime. In this period it acquired its “canonical” form originating from strong emotional grounds, inalienable (as it was believed) “historical rights” and ethnic patriotism. The generation of its animators and recipients was over. Historiography and the “everlasting memory” created by it revealed their historical conditions, their validity limited by what was “here and now”. At present, the consciousness of the medieval past has been marginalised. Local medievalism has now more universal references. It refers to the image of the common culture of medieval Europe, in particular to the imagined community of the Hanseatic towns.

Opis:
The progress of civilization as well as the growing up process of transformative environment adversely affect individual environmental elements in the soil. In recent years the increasing pollution of the atmosphere causes more and more interest in the science of the substances contained in it and merge back to the surface of the Earth. Of great importance for the environment have the substances contained in the water drainage, as in the form of dissolved very easily reach the individual environmental elements causing their contamination. Strong acidification most soils in Poland is the main cause of weak download main nutrients in soils, and low yields. Part of important plant micronutrients: iron, copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt/an acidic soils are more available In soils acidic phosphorus being introduced in mineral fertilisers is associated with aluminum and iron, in forms not available for plants. The low pH of the soil inhibits the oxidation of ammonium nitrogen (NH4 +) to nitrate (NO3 -), and at the same time, poorly developed root system is not able to efficiently downloadion nitrate from the soil. The result is outside the range of the washing of nitrate nitro gen contamination of groundwater and is followed by the root system. The purpose of the work was to determine the pH of precipitation and atmospheric.

Opis:
The study of changes in grassland was conducted on the territory of individual counties of the West Pomeranian Voivodship. Based on data collected in the Valorisation of the Agricultural Production Space of Poland and spatial data (an electronic 1:5000 soil and agricultural map) the basic information on the use of agricultural land in the 70s of the 20th century. Changes in use over time were analysed based on data the Statistics Poland (Pol.: Główny Urząd Statystyczny - GUS), General Geographic Database and The Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture Crop Register (Pol.: Agencja Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa - ARiMR). The studies showed that in the West Pomeranian Voivodship, a successive decrease in the share of permanent grasslands (0.9%) and arable lands (1.4%) is observed. There is a spatial variation in the share of permanent grassland in the province’s counties, with a distinction between northern and southern counties. The main direction of change in grassland area is arable land, which applies to counties with the highest share of permanent grassland (PG) and counties with a high share of the best soils and forest direction. Land quality was the main factor determining the direction of grassland changes, with the best PG converted to arable land or for investment purposes. In contrast, the weakest were converted to forestry or spontaneously wooded through abandonment. The main reasons for changes in grassland areas in the West Pomeranian Voivodship were: conversion of use to arable land, afforestation of grasslands, land use for urban planning purposes, leaving land fallow and conversion for constructing fishponds.
