W pracy przedstawiono metodę wyznaczania luzu obwodowego dla przyjętego zarysu ewolwentowego koła podatnego i sztywnego przekładni falowej. W pierwszej części pracy scharakteryzowano parametry geometryczne przekładni. Następnie dla współpracujących kół zębatych zdefiniowano luz obwodowy, przedstawiono założenia do modelu matematycznego wyznaczania luzu obwodowego, omówiono algorytm metody rozwiązania równań modelu matematycznego. We wnioskach zawarto wyniki badań symulacyjnych. Opracowana metoda zostanie wykorzystana w dalszych badaniach do określenia w strefie kontaktu zazębiających się kół rozkładu nacisków i odkształceń.
The article contains information about the calculation method of side backlash for harmonic gear with involute profile. The first part of the paper contains a description of main geometric parameters of this kind of gear. After that a definition of side backlashes was defined with the main foundations of mathematical model of the method with algorithm. The summary contains conclusions. The presented method will be used in further research of tooth contact.

This work is devoted to experimental study of the effect of manganese concentration on thermoluminescent properties of $YAlO_{3}:Mn$ crystals grown by the Czochralski method. A new type of emitting centers beside of $Mn^{4+}$ and $Mn^{2+}$ ions was revealed at low concentration of manganese ions in the crystal. These centers are responsible for the high-temperature thermoluminescent peak at 570 K. A potential of this thermoluminescent peak for thermoluminescence dosimetry application is discussed.

Post-implantation damage in GaAs$\text{}_{1-x}$P$\text{}_{x}$ compounds (x = 0, 0.15, 0.39, 0.65, and 1) implanted with 150 keV As ions in the dose range 1 × 10$\text{}^{13}$ -8 × 10$\text{}^{13}$ cm$\text{}^{-2}$ at 120 K was investigated. The depth distribution of damage and the degree of amorphization were measured by Rutherford backscattering 1.7 MeV He$\text{}^{+}$ channeling technique. The critical damage dose and the critical energy density necessary for amorphization were determined. It is shown that GaAsP is easier to amorphize (lower critical damage dose) than the binary crystals (GaAs, GaP) at low temperatures.

The influence of 1 MeV electron irradiation on the stability of post-implantation defects in GaAs has been investigated. The n-type GaAs wafers of <100> orientation were implanted with 150 keV As+ ions below the amorphization threshold at RT using the implantation dose of 2×1013 ions cm–2 at a constant flux of 0.1 žA cm–2. Then the implanted samples were irradiated with a scanned beam of 1 MeV electrons from a Van de Graaff accelerator in a dose range (0.5–5.0)×1017 cm–2 at 320 K. RBS and channeling spectroscopy of 1.7 MeV 4He+ ions were used to determine the depth distribution of defect concentration before and after 1 MeV irradiations. New results of an "oscillatory" behaviour of the damage level as a function of 1 MeV electron fluence are presented.

The angular dependence of post-implantation defects removal in GaAs irradiated with 1 MeV electrons from a Van de Graaff accelerator has been investigated. The possible way of enhancing defect annealing consists in ionization created by electron irradiation. In this paper new results of a damage level behaviour dependent on 1 MeV electron beam angle irradiation are presented. GaAs single crystals of <100> orientation were implanted with 150 keV As+ ions at RT and then irradiated with a scanning beam of 1 MeV electrons at some selected angles. Rutheford Backscattering Spectroscopy (RBS) of 1.7 MeV 4He+ ions were used to determine the depth distribution of defect concentration before and after electron irradiation. The results relate clearly the ionization intensity created by the electron beam with angle of incidence with respect to the GaAs <100> orientation.

We described results of the effect of annealing and irradiation treatments on the optical properties of Y$\text{}_{3}$Al$\text{}_{5}$O$\text{}_{12}$, YAlO$\text{}_{3}$, SrLaGa$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{7}$, LiNbO$\text{}_{3}$, Gd$\text{}_{3}$Ga$\text{}_{5}$O$\text{}_{12}$, LaGaO$\text{}_{3}$, ZnSe, and LiF single crystals. Changes in absorption and luminescence are presented. Recharging processes of uncontrolled impurities (e.g. Fe$\text{}^{3+}$, Fe$\text{}^{2+}$, and Mn$\text{}^{2+}$), and active ions (e.g. Nd$\text{}^{3+}$, Dy$\text{}^{3+}$, Cr$\text{}^{4+}$, Cr$\text{}^{3+}$, and Ce$\text{}^{3+}$), as well as types of color centers produced in the crystals after a particular irradiation or annealing treatment are presented.

The siliciclastic turbidite successions (Pul’gon and Dzhidala Formations) that crop out in the eastern part of the Chauvay River valley, are marked on geological maps as a belt of terrigenous deposits of Silurian-Devonian age. They resemble deposits of overbank areas and depositional lobes of deep sea fans, and display common trace fossils particularly on lower surfaces of sandstone beds. Sixteen ichnotaxa representing four morphological groups have been distinguished. The trace fossil assemblages suggest their affiliation to the Nereites ichnofacies. Various branched, preturbidite forms predominate in both examined units, although the assemblages of individual units differ slightly in composition. In the Pulg’on Formation, small, densely distributed burrows commonly occur on lower surfaces of sandstone beds. Shallow burrowing depth together with relatively low diversity trace fossil assemblages indicate lowered oxygenation of the sea floor.

The article discusses God’s providence in the life of John Paul II. The biblical message of evil’s inability to overpower God’s wisdom is presented in the backdrop of difficult and painful events in the pop’s life. Yet both the experiences of World War II and the subsequent communist era provide opportunities for Wojtyla to experience God’s helping hand. Calling on his Lord ‘Jesus, I trust in You’ during that ‘dark night’ , as inspired by the revelations of Saint Faustina Kowalski, instilled hope and strength in him. The accompanying God’s providence manifested itself during his pontificate and perhaps most clearly on May13th 1981, when he was wounded in an attempted assassination. The fact that he survived was a clear sign of God’s intervention. What he saw in those traumatic events was the amazing ways of God’s guidance. He could also experience the presence of The Creator and His Mother, ever so alert and ready to help.

Edukacja — jej wymiar etyczny i metaforyczna wizualizacja na podstawie książki Johna Henry’ego Newmana The Idea of a University (1852) Niemal dwa wieki temu w swojej książce The Idea of University Kardynał John Henry Newman (1801–1890) wykreował wizję edukacji uniwersyteckiej, którą ujął w świetle wiary i etyki katolickiej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie poglądów Newmana na temat uniwersytetu za pomocą teorii metafory pojęciowej, zaproponowanej początkowo przez Lakoffa i Johnsona w książce Metaphors We Live By (1980 [2003], por. także Lakoff i Johnson 1999; Lakoff 1987, 1993; Kövecses 2015, m. in.). Artykuł stara się wyłonić główne sieci (ang. networks) metafor implikacyjnych, które — jak wierzymy — obrazują ideę uniwersytetu według Newmana. W artykule skonstruowano trzy główne sieci metafor pojęciowych, które leżą u podstaw zrozumienia wizji uniwersytetu według Newmana: życie jest budowlą; życie jest żywym organizmem; życie jest podróżą. Artykuł skupia się na analizie tylko pierwszej sieci (network). W omawianej metaforze życie jest budowlą, uniwersytet jest postrzegany przez Newmana jako miejsce, pole, schronisko lub jako system zintegrowany, np. naród lub kombinacja kolorów. Wiedza jest zobrazowana językiem Newmana jako m.in. roślina, nagroda, dobro, wolność, moc, skarb, sztuka i piękno.
Almost two centuries ago, in his book The Idea of a University, Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801–1890) formulated his vision of university education, given in the light of faith and catholic ethics. This paper attempts to frame Newman’s view of a university using the theory of conceptual metaphor as initially proposed by Lakoff and Johnson in their book Metaphors We Live By (cf. also Lakoff & Johnson 1999; Lakoff 1987, 1993; and Kövecses 2015; among others). In particular, the paper seeks to establish the main networks of implicational metaphors which, we believe, structure Newman’s idea of a university. Principally, there are three main networks of conceptual metaphors underlying our understanding of Newman’s vision of a university: life is a building; life is a living organism; and life is a journey. The paper deals only with the first network in greater detail. In the main metaphor life is a building, other metaphors referring to university are evoked, for example university is a place, field, shelter, an integrated system, a nation and a combination of colours; knowledge is a plant, a reward, good, freedom, power, treasure, art and beauty.
