Opis:
In the present study, research is carried out on deriving modified analytical equations for finding shear stress distribution and known as Modified Shear Stress models (SSM) beneath plain wheels (small and large) on TRI-1 lunar soil simulant. In all four models, the Reece model, Bekker model, Wong-Reece model and Iagnemma model, normal stress and shear stress are determined, and the shear stress determination is based on the Janosi and Hanamoto (1961) model. There exists ample scope for modifying this model. A modified model for shear stress distribution is developed and the same is discussed in this paper.

Opis:
In this paper, three stress distribution models are considered, namely: Reece from 1965, Bekker from 1969, Wong-Reece from 1967. Two types of wheels are considered for the preset study, i.e., a small wheel with diameter of 160 mm and width 32 mm, whereas for a large wheel with diameter of 210 mm and width of 50 mm. TRI-1 or Tiruchirappalli soil simulant is considered for the interaction studies, which is an anorthosite based lunar soil simulant. The normal stress, shear stress and vertical forces are determined when the wheel starts moving on TRI-1 soil simulant. Entry and exit angles are also calculated for all models to estimate vertical forces. The maximum normal stress found for the small wheel was 32.121 kN/m2 (Wong-Reece model). In the case of the large wheel, the maximum normal stress was found to be 39.016 kN/m2 (Reece model). Vertical forces are found from the obtained normal stresses and shear stresses, and are presented graphically. The dimensionless stress ratio of both the wheels for the considered models, i.e., DNSR and DSSR, is also found.

Port towns are strategic places from the point of view of transport systems. They form integration junctions for various transport branches , apart from the traditional - road and railway ones , also for water( sea) transport which is active there. Moreover, air transport comes also into consideration , whose efficient functioning must be connected with good accessibility, that concerns sea transport as well. Efficient and safe servicing the ports is crucial for their functioning. Problems associated with the overloading of lorries, which leads to degradation of road surface structure , observed in Gdynia, are discussed as an example in this paper. Problems of road traffic safety (RTS) are presented in this paper on the example of Gdańsk. The two issues : the road traffic safety and road surface degradation constitute only some transport problems of port towns , but they are very important, from the point of view of their specificity, for integration junctions of all the transport branches for people and goods. However, in discussing selected aspects of transport in port towns it is necessary to refer to the managing of integrated transport system with taking into account its traffic safety aspects.

The community continues to be disturbed when strobe lights and sirens are abused. While sirens are used by private vehicles, they cause other drivers to automatically move aside to give way to the oncoming vehicle, strobes or light beams cause other drivers to feel blinded. This study employs a sociological method of empirical legal research. This study aims to examine how law enforcement uses Siyasah Dusturiyah and Law No. 22 of 2009 to target the usage of strobes and sirens on private vehicles. Law enforcement has taken steps to enforce the law on the use of strobes and sirens, including outreach with vehicle communities, based on the findings of the research. In line with Islamic teachings, the community and students have taken into consideration various aspects, particularly when viewed through the lens of Siyasah Dusturiyah. These include highlighting the advantages of promoting legal compliance and awareness as well as enhancing traffic safety and comfort.

Opis:
Mobility is an important source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and a major contributor to human-induced climate change. Much of these emissions result from urban residents’ travel within urban areas (i.e. short-distance travel [SDT]) and away from them (i.e. long-distance travel [LDT]). In this study, we focus on the distribution of mobility-related GHG emissions in two functional urban areas in Poland: Poznań and the Tri-city. Using data from a representative survey (N ~2000 in each area), we investigate the emission distribution and associations between emission levels and the socio-economic characteristics and residential locations of study participants. Emission levels are unequally distributed: the top 10% of emitters contribute >50% of SDT and LDT emissions. People with high education and income levels tend to travel and emit more within and away from the cities. People of retirement age travel and emit much less than the younger people. SDT emission levels are clustered spatially and increase with the increasing distance from the main city centres and decreasing density. LDT emissions have only very weak or no association with residential location.

Opis:
The Higher School of Economics in Sopot and the Higher School of Pedagogy in Gdansk were universities established just after World War II and strongly ideologized in the 1950s. The purpose of this article is to reconstruct the events that took place during the October transition at both universities and also to identify the changes these events led to at party meetings. The introduction discusses the history of the WSE in Sopot and the WSE in Gdansk from the time of their establishment until 1956 and outlines the elements of ideological pressure applied to employees and students. An analysis of the minutes of university bodies (staff meetings, Senates) and party bodies at the universities (POP and KU PZPR) and above the universities (KM PZPR in Sopot, KW PZPR in Gdansk), memoirs of students and employees, and newspaper articles were used to achieve the goal. The changes that took place at the universities were primarily concerned with democratization, greater openness in discussion (while remaining faithful to broad Marxist ideology), changes in the conceptual instrumentarium and criticism of both the USSR and national and university authorities. Virtually all groups comprising the WSE and WSP academic community were involved in the 1956 changes, albeit to varying degrees and in different forms. Employees were more involved at meetings of university and party committees, while students were involved at rallies and in the forums of youth organizations.

Opis:
Wojciech Bogusław Jastrzębowski’s federative concept of a united Europe was developed during the November Uprising. The printed text of the 1831 pamphlet Constitution for Europe, the manuscript of which is kept by the Archive of Old Records in Warsaw, was conceived as a project for a pan-European constitution. The main aim of the future federation of nations was to prevent any further wars on our continent. In the 77 articles of the Constitution, Jastrzębowski specified, inter alia, the principles of the functioning of the common institutions of the monarchical federation and the national institutions. He also defined the mutual relations between nations and community authorities, criminal sanctions for breaching European and national laws, as well as the fundamental rights and duties of citizens of a united Europe. The author of the project stipulated the equality of all before the law and the abolition of all state privileges.
Federacyjna koncepcja zjednoczonej Europy Wojciecha Bogusława Jastrzębowskiego (1799–1882) powstała podczas powstania listopadowego. Drukowany tekst broszury z 1831 r.

Opis:
This paper aims to assess changes in mobility and modal shift caused by COVID-19 travel restrictions among the residents of Gdańsk Bay Metropolis (Poland). Measurement’s moments were assumed in periods differing in the level of restrictions. The computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) was carried out in November and December 2020. The results did not confirm the expected modal shift. However, significant changes in the number of trips between periods were observed. Restrictions in the first period of the pandemic resulted in a greater decrease in mobility than the restrictions at the end of the year. Moreover, significant associations were found between transport behaviour and place of residence. Nevertheless, possible negative changes in the modal split after the pandemic ends should be counteracted by improving the quality of public transport services. As the most important attributes of public transport attracting passengers after the pandemic respondents recognized: high frequency of vehicles, low cost of travel, not overcrowded vehicles. However, some residents declared they will not use public transport regardless of service improvements. Consequently, to meet the objectives of sustainable mobility policy, it can be necessary to increase the share in the modal split of other sustainable modes of travel.
