In Indonesia, there are underground mines for mineral metal such copper (Cu) and gold (Au), built by tunneling towards the mineral location. The purpose of this study was to determine the mapping a concentration of diesel particulate matter (DPM) and assess the impact on health by severity measurement of airflow obstruction of the miners experiencing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The data of DPM were measured with NIOSH method no. 5040 and applied a geostatistical method in mapping concentration at the area of underground mining. A spirometric measurement was conducted to diagnose COPD that is done to the 314 miners. The results showed that the concentrations exceeding the permissible exposure limit (PEL) and spirometric measurement were found for 26 miners (8.3%) who experience COPD (post bronchodilator <0.70). The severity measurement of airflow obstruction of the miners experiencing COPD, severity of airflow limitation for moderate (GOLD 2) was obtained for 14 miners (54%); severe (GOLD 3) for 10 miners (38%) and very severe (GOLD 4) for 2 miners (8%). It can be concluded that the amount of DPM exposure against the severity of airflow limitation with COPD by 0.03, in which the other factors also affect the severity.

Opis:
Ore processing industry in Indonesia applies the international standard of environmental management system based on ISO 14001:2015. The implementation of clause 6.1.2 requires every organization to identify the environmental aspects of its operations, as an initial step in environmental management. The objective of this research is to develop a structured approach in identifying the environmental aspects and impacts so that an evaluation on the risks, opportunities as well as severity of possible environmental impacts can be conducted. The employed methods involve life-cycle approach and risk assessment method with four-cell risk assessment matrix in environmental risk determination. The results of this risk assessment can give an overview of environmental aspects and impacts, so that control priority can be determined in order to reduce the risks.

The transition process of implementation standard for environmental management system (EMS) ISO 14001 :2015 lasts for three years, requiring every organization to adopt the latest version by September 2018. The objectives of this research is to describe and analyze the stages done by copper ore mill. This research used a concept analysis method, which focused on and could be basically defined to examine the basic elements of widely used concept to clarify ISO 14001 :2015 standards characteristics and relations. The result of this research provide a conceptual framework based on the standard of ISO 14001:2015 – EMS : Requirements with Guidance for Use, where this framework consists of steps to design the transition change from EMS ISO 14001 :2004 to its 2015 new version. The description of every step is expected to give understanding and model for organizations that must conduct transition and for the ones that will start implementing the EMS.

Opis:
Water quality modelling can be a way to determine the potential pollutant load capacity in the river water. As the number of population and intensity of activities around the river increased, it is possible that the water quality in the river will be negatively impacted. The Rambut river, which located in Pemalang and Tegal, Indonesia, has an important role as a water source in both areas. However, this demand is not accompanied by the availability of river capacity information yet. Five points from different segments along the upstream and downstream of Rambut River were assessed with the QUAL2E model. There were four different parameters in the research, e.g., BOD, fecal coliform, nitrite, and nitrate. The results showed that some segments did not comply with the minimum requirements by the local government. Additionally, the BOD and fecal coliform value were predicted to be increased in 2023 due to higher population number living near the river. The values for all parameters fluctuated between the different segments.
