Opis:
Modern enterprises operate on the basis of the Industry 4.0 paradigm. Technology is becoming an inherent attribute of the economy, but at the same time, one should bear in mind the employees, who create enterprises, and the spiritual side, so as to maintain a balance between what is tangible and intangible. Religion and spirituality are intertwined and have an impact on business practice and corporate management. Research on a group of young people has shown that faith plays a vital role in running a business. Moreover, the sustainability and uninterrupted activity of the Church can be a model for many companies. Subordinating one’s own affairs and individual ambitions to the common good and higher values, is the direction which managers of modern institutions can follow. Such an enterprise needs a leader, a charismatic leader who, as an intangible asset, will primarily see the value of the employees entrusted to him, and only then, the material value of the company. The personnel function and the humanistic approach are the key aspects of a well-functioning enterprise. The article analyses the role of St. Peter in managing the Church, and indicates the possibility of managing modern enterprises based on Church experience.

Wśród rozmaitych wątków refleksji religijnej Norwida zwraca uwagę, niemal niedostrzegany w dotychczasowych badaniach, temat Bożego miłosierdzia i miłosierdzia świadczonego bliźnim. Pisma poety (listy, proza i poezja) zdradzają wysiłek autora (wyrażony np. w tworzeniu ciekawych neologizmów) zmierzający do przeniknięcia i doprecyzowania tej teologicznej prawdy, do jej pełniejszego zrozumienia i nowej, głębszej interpretacji. „Miłosierdzie” jest przede wszystkim ważnym narzędziem Norwidowego „mówienia o Bogu”, jest dlań także streszczeniem istoty nauczania ewangelicznego (Nowy Testament nazywa poeta „Testamentem-miłosierdzia”). Prawda o miłosierdziu sytuuje się w centrum personalistycznej antropologii Norwida („Osobistość jest rzeczą miłosierdzia”) i tworzy osnowę jego myśli społecznej („społeczne miłowanie”, „jedenaste przykazanie”). Z pism poety wyłaniają się tropy wskazujące na jego inspiracje w tym zakresie m.in. teologią miłosierdzia św. Pawła oraz nauczaniem kaznodziei XIX-wiecznych (jak ks. Piotr Semenenko). Można zatem postrzegać Norwida jako tego myśliciela chrześcijańskiego, który antycypując rewelacje teologiczne wieku XX, wychylił się samodzielnie już w XIX stuleciu ku temu ważnemu zagadnieniu wiary.
Among the various themes of Norwid’s religious reflection, one that attracts particular attention but has largely been overlooked in previous research is the theme of divine mercy and mercy rendered to one’s neighbours. The poet’s writings (letters, prose and poetry) divulge the author’s effort (expressed, for instance, in his interesting neologisms) to penetrate and clarify this theological truth, to understand it more fully and interpret it in a new and deeper way. “Mercy” is primarily an important tool of Norwid’s “speaking of God”; for him it is also a summary of the essence of the Gospel teaching (the poet calls the New Testament the “Testament of mercy”). The truth about mercy is situated at the centre of Norwid’s personalist anthropology (“Osobistość jest rzeczą miłosierdzia” [Personality is the thing of mercy]) and forms the fabric of his social thought (“social loving”, “the eleventh commandment”). Clues emerge from the poet’s writings indicating that he was inspired in this regard by, among others, St Paul’s theology of mercy and the teaching of 19th-century preachers (such as Fr Piotr Semenenko). Thus, Norwid can be seen as that Christian thinker who, anticipating the theological revelations of the 20th century, independently addressed this important issue of faith as early as in the 19th century.

Associations of the Ladies of Charity of St Vincent de Paul were established in the Polish lands in the 1850s. One of the first association was founded in Kraków. The aim of this article is to present the activities of the Ladies of Charity and the Steward Maids [Panny Ekonomki] in the years before and during World War I. The members of the association provided the sick poor with emergency care such as making bandages or providing food and other daily necessities. In addition to material assistance, great emphasis was also placed on the religious aspect of the wards’ lives. From the beginning of the 20th century, the Steward Maids concentrated on their work in the infirmary and, during the war, on organising nursing courses.
Stowarzyszenia Pań Miłosierdzia św. Wincentego a Paulo powstawały na ziemiach polskich od lat 50. XIX w. Jedno z pierwszych utworzono w Krakowie. Artykuł ma na celu przybliżyć działalność pań miłosierdzia oraz panien ekonomek w latach poprzedzających I wojnę światową oraz w jej trakcie. Członkinie stowarzyszenia udzielały ubogim chorym doraźnej pomocy, takiej jak wykonywanie opatrunków czy dostarczanie żywności i innych artykułów codziennego użytku. Poza pomocą materialną duży nacisk kładziono również na religijny aspekt życia podopiecznych. Panny ekonomki od początku XX w. skupiały się na pracy w ambulatorium, a w czasie wojny na organizowaniu kursów pielęgniarskich.

The cases of the fires of Notre-Dame in Paris and St Peter and St Paul in Nantes present the effects of the gradual neglect of monument conservation and their impact on a decrease in safety. The causes and consequences of the fires were described. Differences in the methods of technical protection and reconstruction after a fire have been specified. It was reported that in the Cathedral in Nantes, the wooden truss was replaced with a concrete one, whereas in Notre-Dame the original truss will be recreated. The need to select fire protection and reconstruction methods on a case-by case basis and use comprehensive fire-resistance systems was indicated.
Studium przypadków pożarów katedry Notre-Dame w Paryżu oraz katedry św. Piotra i Pawła w Nantes przedstawia skutki stopniowego zaniedbywania konserwacji zabytków i obniżania bezpieczeństwa ich zachowania. Opisano przyczyny oraz następstwa pożarów. Wskazano na różnice sposobów technicznego zabezpieczenia i rekonstrukcji uszkodzonych elementów. Wskazano, że w katedrze Św. Piotra i Pawła drewnianą konstrukcję dachu zastąpiono betonową, gdy w Notre Dame odtworzona zostanie oryginalna więźba. Wskazano na konieczność stosowania kompleksowych systemów ochrony pożarowej oraz indywidualnego doboru sposobów ochrony pożarowej i rekonstrukcji po pożarze. Słowa kluczowe:

Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s profound personal religiousness became the source of his deep spiritual bond with the personality of Karol Wojtyła – Saint John Paul II. The relationship between the composer and the Pope was of a special nature. In 1977, Cardinal Karol Wojtyła commissioned a work from Henryk Mikołaj Górecki to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the death of St Stanislaus. The result was the oratorio Beatus Vir Op. 38, a psalm for baritone, mixed choir and orchestra. Since its premiere, the composer has been urged by the Pope to compose further works of religious music. This was to be a larger cycle dedicated to Polish saints. Only the oratorio on St Adalbert was written, the fate of which was unknown during the composer’s lifetime. Its manuscript was found in materials left behind by his son. The text of Sanctus Adalbertus is laconic, building up already at the level of words a specific drama typical of the composer. It is sung in Latin alternating with Polish (there is also a Czech variant, which is understandable given St Adalbert’s nationality), and, as so often in Górecki’s work, is based on thoughts taken from the Psalms. While the first three parts of the work can be said to be composed as a whole by ‘juxtaposing’ different sound models, different idioms repeated many times in an irregular manner peculiar to Górecki, the fourth part, with its clear three-part structure, is built in a processual manner. Górecki’s Gloria is derived, as it were, from the song Bogurodzica and tends towards it. In the maximally muted ending of the work, the melody returns, this time as if a reminder of it in the single, delicate strikes of the bells and grand piano leading to the utterance of the saint’s name: “Sanctus Adalbertus”. The work can be interpreted as a journey towards the quotation from the oldest Polish hymn – Bogurodzica (Mother of God), as a journey to the source – to the roots of a Polish national identity in times of rebirth.

Homilia to gatunek wypowiedzi, który realizowany jest w odmianie mówionej języka. Dla tego rodzaju języka typowe są dwa style: styl oficjalny i styl potoczny. Celem artykułu będzie odnalezienie elementów tych stylów w homiliach wygłoszonych przez Jana Pawła II podczas I i II pielgrzymki do Polski. Pytania badawcze brzmią: Czy Jan Paweł II w tych homiliach wykorzystywał zarówno styl potoczny, jak i oficjalny? Jakie cechy stylu oficjalnego, a jakie – potocznego można odnaleźć w tych wystąpieniach? Na czym polegają podobieństwa? Z czego mogły wnikać ewentualne różnice? Materiał badawczy stanowi 12 homilii z I pielgrzymki oraz 9 homilii z II pielgrzymki. Metodą badawczą jest analiza lingwistyczna.
Homily is a genre of speech, which is realized in spoken language. Two styles are typical for this type of utterance: official style and colloquial style. The purpose of this article is to find elements of both styles in the homilies delivered by John Paul II during his First and Second Pilgrimages to Poland. The research questions were: did John Paul II use both colloquial and official styles in the homilies?; on top of: what features of the official style and what features of the colloquial one can be found in his speeches?; what are the similarities?; what could any differences arise from? The research material consisted of 12 homilies from the First Pilgrimage and 9 homilies from the Second Pilgrimage. The applied research method was linguistic analysis.

After the 1905-1906 reconstruction of the parish church of st. Peter and Paul in Syców, the organ building company of A. Spiegel from Rychtal, led by Joseph Bach, constructed an organ with 21 voices in 1907, according to the instruction of prof. Emil Bohn from Wroclaw. Only the prospectus and box bellows were re-used for their construction from the old instrument. By 1920, 2 stops were added to the pedal, and in 1943, the Sauer company of Frankfurt (Oder) added 3 stops to the second manual. The new voices were placed on separate wind chests. An additional a small float bellow was also installed. After World War II, the instrument was repaired several times, but its technical condition continued to deteriorate until it was finally put out of use for several years. Only in 2021 did it undergo a thorough renovation.

El decreto del papa Francisco para la concesión del título de Doctor de la Iglesia a san Ireneo de Lyon ha impulsado el estudio de su doctrina en nuevos campos teológicos. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo aportar a la josefología la visión que el santo obispo tenía sobre san José y su predestinación a ser el esposo de María. Se analizará también la razón soteriológica del matrimonio de los padres del Señor, redescubierta en la exhortación apostólica Redemptoris Custos de san Juan Pablo II.
The decree of Pope Francis granting the title of Doctor of the Church to St. Irenaeus of Lyons has given impetus to the study of his doctrine in new theological fields. The present article aims to contribute to Josephology the vision that the holy bishop had of St. Joseph and his predestination to be the spouse of Mary. It will also analyze the soteriological reason for the marriage of the Lord's parents, rediscovered in the apostolic exhortation Redemptoris Custos of St. John Paul II.

The original term the ‘woman’s genius’ by St. John Paul II, contained in the letter Mulieris dignitatem and his other documents, accurately defines spirituality and the proper role of women in the Church and society. It can be a hermeneutical key when studying the figures of saints and outstanding women, including the Servant of God, Jadwiga Zamoyska. As the participation of women in the triple mission of Christ: priestly, prophetic and kingly, the ‘woman’s genius’ manifests itself in various ways. We find its fullness in Mary.
Oryginalne określenie „geniusz kobiety” autorstwa św. Jana Pawła II, zawarte w liście Mulieris dignitatem i innych jego dokumentach, trafnie określa duchowość oraz właściwą rolę kobiety w Kościele i społeczeństwie. Może ono stanowić klucz hermeneutyczny przy badaniu postaci świętych i wybitnych kobiet, także Służebnicy Bożej Jadwigi Zamoyskiej. Jako udział w potrójnym posłannictwie Chrystusa: kapłańskim, prorockim i królewskim, „geniusz kobiety” przejawia się na różne sposoby. Jego pełnię odkrywamy w Maryi.

Artykuł zawiera omówienie trzech rysunków Cypriana Norwida: Amerykański marynarz (1854), Młoda mniszka ze skrzydłami u ramion (1850) oraz Rusałki (1852), sprzedanych 11 maja 2022 roku na aukcji zorganizowanej przez brytyjski dom aukcyjny „Toovey’s Antique & Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers”. Rysunki pochodzą z pokaźnej kolekcji dzieł Norwida zgromadzonych przez bliską znajomą poety Konstancję Górską, obejmującej listy, rękopisy wierszy, ponad 80 prac plastycznych (rysunki, akwarele i grafiki), która od czasów II wojny światowej uznawana jest za zaginioną. Kolekcja Górskiej jest w literaturze przedmiotu doskonale znana: wszystkie teksty były publikowane w okresie międzywojennym, a prace plastyczne zostały szczegółowo skatalogowane oraz częściowo sfotografowane przez Zenona Przesmyckiego w 1914 roku Dokumentacja dotycząca rysunków została opublikowana na łamach „Studia Norwidana” w 2011 roku Odnalezienie kilku obiektów z zaginionej kolekcji budzi nadzieję na kolejne odkrycia spuścizny Norwida.
This article discusses three drawings by Cyprian Norwid: Amerykański marynarz [The American Sailor] (1854), Młoda mniszka ze skrzydłami u ramion [The Young Nun with wings on her Shoulders] (1850) and Rusałki [Rusalki] (1852), sold on 11 May 2022 at an auction organised by the British auction house Toovey’s Antique & Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers. The drawings come from a substantial collection of Norwid’s works amassed by the poet’s close friend Konstancja Górska, which included letters, manuscripts of poems, and over 80 artworks (drawings, watercolours and prints), which has been considered lost since World War II. Górska’s collection is well known in the literature: all the texts were published between the wars, and the artworks were catalogued in detail and partially photographed by Zenon Przesmycki in 1914. The documentation of the drawings was published in “Studia Norwidana” in 2011. The discovery of several objects from the lost collection raises hopes for further discoveries of Norwid’s legacy.

The article offers an interpretation of St. Paul’s thoughts regarding human’s reaching of the Christian ideal of humanity basing on Eph 4:17–5:2. The exegetical analysis of the selected passage is based on commentaries by writers of various Christian denominations, which makes this publication useful in the ecumenical field. In the article the reader can find numerous admonitions of the Apostle Paul concerning non-Christian life, and at the same time practical guidelines on the way of Christian life. In the analyzed passage Eph 4:17–5:2 the reader can see the consequences of adopting the new model of life indicated by the author of the letter to the Ephesians. These are the difficulties a person must overcome in order to live a pattern of life consistent with the gospel of Christ. This life should be filled with love, which becomes the conclusion of St. Paul’s words to the Ephesians as well as the conclusion of this publication.

There is an allegory of the human body in 2 Cor 5:1–4 that is discussed by many scholars and has many different interpretations. The author of this article joins this discussion and tries to answer the question of what the theological message of this pericope is. The metaphors that make it up can be divided into two groups: 1) home metaphors; 2) metaphors of putting on and taking off of clothes. In his text, Paul arranges them in an antithetical way and refers to two stages of human life: the earthly life of believers, which a person leads in a destructible body and which ends in death, and the future condition of believers, which begins with the reception of the resurrection body. The analysis carried out in the article leads to the conclusion that, in his reflection, Paul does not write anything about the intermediate state which is referred to by the followers of Platonic and Gnostic thought in the Hellenistic environment. He eagerly wishes to stand before the Lord during the Parousia without losing his mortal body in order to pass to eternal life without the experience of death by putting on the glorious body.
