Introduction and aim. Primary musculocutaneous lymphoma is extremely rare and associated with poor prognosis. Here, we present a case of refractory primary muscular lymphoma with overlying cutaneous involvement with the aid of 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (18F FDG PET/CT) for staging and treatment. Description of the case. We present the case of a 52-year-old man presented with musculocutaneous Hodgkin’s lymphoma having swelling and discolored areas over the left leg and right arm associated with itchiness. Upon examination, there was scaling, erythema over the body with Gottron’s papules on knuckles and heliotrope rash. Skin and muscle biopsy were suggestive of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This patient was had primary musculocutaneous lymphoma. His diagnosis was delayed. PET/CT was performed for staging and response to treatment, which was suggestive of refractory disease. Conclusion. PET/CT plays a vital role in diagnosis, staging, response to therapy and helps in optimized treatment for these specific patients.

Background. COVID-19 pandemic has been a source of emerging public health problems for the past few years. Due to its contagious nature, health care professionals especially dentists, incorporated various modifications in their practices to prevent themselves and their patients from the risk of getting infected. Objective. The present study aims to assess whether dental professionals are still continuing with those modifications in practice in current times. Materials and Methods. The present study was conducted on 415 subjects after getting due approval from concerned authorities and consent from the subjects. Systematic random sampling methodology was employed for selection for study sample. The study employed a self-constructed questionnaire which was divided into 2 parts and information regarding demographic profile, practice modifications and safety protocols was gathered from subjects. Statistical analysis was conducted using Chi-square test and multiple regression analysis. Results. Only 8.6% of subjects were currently continuing with their all previous practice modifications. A vast majority of subjects (83.8%) were not deferring treatment of patients showing suspicious symptoms. Approximately 89% of subjects were not sanitizing the operating area at the end of the working day. More than two-thirds (76.4%) of the subjects stated that the pandemic was over. Female gender (OR:1.67) and high level of education (OR:2.45) had an important effect on the continuation of practice modifications. Conclusion. Very few subjects were adhering to all practice modifications previously incorporated. Dental professionals should not let their guard down even if COVID-19 cases have reduced considerably. The information collected will be useful for the dental community and further studies should be carried out.

Emerging variants of COVID-19 have threatened the effectiveness of intramuscular (IM) vaccines since that are made to target only the spike protein. Development of Intranasal (IN) vaccination has been proven to provide both the mucosal and systemic immune responses for broader and long lasting protection. Many IN vaccine candidates (virus-vectored vaccines, recombinant subunit vaccines and live attenuated vaccines) are in different phases of clinical trials and in near future many companies would be releasing their vaccines into the drug market. Potential advantages of IN vaccination over IM vaccination makes them ideal to be administered in children and developing populations of the world. This paper focuses on the very recent developments in intranasal vaccination with a spotlight on their safety and efficacy concerns. IN vaccination can prove to be game-changer in handling COVID-19 and potential viral contagious diseases in future.

This study throws light on the outline of innovation taking place in Indian Food Processing SMEs with a special focus on open Innovation taking place in these SMEs and the exchange of information or knowledge taking place between inside-out and outside-in parties for the purpose of innovation. In addition, puts special focus on describing how SMEs’ product innovation output related with the effect of outside-in and inside-out exchange of knowledge and information. Further, it analyzes how expenditure on innovation and collaborating with outside parties can help in the predicting product innovation output of Indian Food Processing SMEs. The analysis was done with the help of Jamovi to find out regression between the dependent variable- “Product innovation output” & independent variables- “Extent of openness”, “Inhouse R& D expenditure”, “Purchase of R&D from outside sources”, “Acquiring knowledge from outside sources” and control variable- “Indian Food Processing SMEs”. And towards the end, it contains the summary of the survey done, which suggested that Indian Food Processing SMEs are proactively involved themselves in inside R&D in comparison to the outside R&D and buying or taking license from outside sources. Other than these activities, one more pointer came as a takeaway from the study, product innovation is performed more in comparison to process innovation by the Indian Food Processing SMEs.

A new health threat in the form of a new variant of Covid-19 called Omicron has emerged globally in this holiday season. This new variant has been declared a variant of concern (VOC) by the World Health Organization and experts are expecting another wave of the pandemic. A lot still unknown about this variant and researchers worldwide are conducting studies to find the nature and characteristics of this mutated strain. Cases have begun to rise dramatically around the world and many countries have already imposed travel restrictions again to prevent disease transmission. It is being speculated that this particular variant has got tendency of immune escape and therefore can even infect fully vaccinated individuals. Vaccination and adhering to Covid-19 guidelines and protocols can curtail the spread of the virus. The present paper focuses on what is currently known about this variant, antigen diagnostic tests, importance of getting fully vaccinated and having booster dose etc. If we want to emerge from this pandemic, countries should practice vaccine equality and solidarity for the good of mankind.

The growing population and the development of industries in all countries of the world have created a very important and complex issue for water supply to cities. Today, many parts of the world are facing the problem of water shortage and this problem cannot be easily solved. In addition to the proper use of water resources and preventing the loss of natural water, the establishment of regional water supply networks is effective in meeting the future needs of the people. A water distribution network (water supply network) is a set of interconnected pipelines used to transport and distribute water in a complex. In designing the water distribution network, factors such as the type of water distribution network, water pressure, water velocity, design flow, minimum pipe diameter, pipe material and many other factors should be considered. In this study, we have tried to design the water supply network of a part of Balikpapan city in Indonesia. The design method led to the determination of pressure values in the connection nodes, pipe diameters, flow rate and velocity in the pipes. All the existing criteria are considered in the design of the water supply network. Although this study has been implemented for a specific study area, it can be of great help to designers in designing the water supply network.

Omicron, the new ‘Variant of Concern’ of SARS-CoV-2, is rapidly evolving into new sub-variants or sub-lineages (BA.1, BA.2 etc.). These sub-variants have higher transmissibility, decreased vaccine effectiveness and increased risk of reinfection. As a result, many nations across the globe are reporting surge in infections which is a matter of concern. Understanding Omicron and its sub-variants is vital for development of public health policy and preventing disease transmission. The present paper throws a spotlight on the newly detected sub-variants of Omicron as reported in ongoing researches which are available only in pre-print form and also the importance of a booster dose of the vaccine. Information regarding recent research on a new nasal vaccine formulation, which may be effective against the new variants, is also highlighted in the paper.

The COVID-19 pandemic has recently become a threat all across the globe with the rising cases every day and many countries experiencing its outbreak. According to the WHO, the virus is capable of spreading at an exponential rate across countries, and India is now one of the worst-affected country in the world. Researchers all around the world are racing to come up with a cure or treatment for COVID-19, and this is creating extreme pressure on the policy makers and epidemiologists. However, in India the recovery rate has been far better than in other countries, and is steadily improving. Still in such a difficult situation with no effective medicine, it is essential to know if a patient with the COVID-19 is going to recover or die. To meet this end, a model has been developed in this article to estimate the probability of a recovery of a patient based on the demographic characteristics. The study used data published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India for the empirical analysis.

Predictive analysis is a vital element to operations management as it facilitates real-time decision making and advanced planning on both strategy and performance. This paper identifies predictors to measure distribution performance in the dairy industry and to establish their importance. Methods: A distribution model is developed through exploratory structural equation modelling (SEM) techniques. The key performance predictors are marketing and distribution management, quality management, supply chain coordination, and brand management, which account for 71.5% of the variability in distribution performance. Results and conclusion: The predictors help improving the distribution performance, specifically in quality, order fill rate, and food safety. The outcomes of this research can help dairy professionals in managing their distribution channels, improving traceability, on-time delivery, and shipment accuracy. Consequently, these factors can improve distribution performance. Four predictors are elicited from the data to estimate the distribution performance and the relative importance of predictors is also established.

Erythina stricta is an ecologically important tree species in the rainforests of India and its nectar within the flowers contributes to birds’ diet and survival. Reports on the pollination of this species have not been published so far. We therefore explore the reproductive system of this tree species which has great significance to its ecosystem. Birds have an important role in the reproduction of trees through pollination particularly in tropical areas where reproductive success mostly depends on animal pollinator interactions. Study of visitation and nectar feeding behaviour of birds alongwith breeding system assessment of Erythina stricta. Birds visiting and foraging behaviour was observed during Erythrina stricta flowering season in an indian tropical rainforest. Reproductive system was assessed through controlled pollination experiments. Thirteen bird species were recorded visiting and foraging nectar from the flowers of Erythrina stricta. The maximum numbers of visits recorded were from the Red-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus cafer, Pycnonotidae). The nectar feeding birds were, either (i) potential pollinator with long bills (e.g. Pycnonotus spp., Chloropsis aurifrons, and Dicrurus spp.) or (ii) nectar robbers with comparatively shorter bills (e.g. Zosterops palpebrosa, Stachyris ruficeps, Macronous gularis, Heterophasia glaciris). Controlled pollination experiments revealed high degree of cross pollination (xenogamy) and self-incompatibility in E. stricta. Birds were more frequent in early mornings and their foraging activity was also observed during evening hours; the frequency however, declined with respect to nectar availability. Long corolla tubes of E. stricta could restrict access to nectar collecting bees

Purpose: This paper investigates the combined effect of fly ash, sawdust and geotextile in stabilizing the soil. Design/methodology/approach: A thorough geotechnical testing was carried out in order to study the potent characteristics of soil and soil mixes. The present investigation was set up in two stages. In the first stage, effects of fly ash (5, 10, 15 and 20%), sawdust (2.5, 5 and 7.5%) and layers of geotextile placed at different depths were studied separately to determine their effect on soil stabilization. In the second stage, fly ash, sawdust and geotextile were mixed with soil sample in order to obtain the optimum dosage which can be used for stabilization of soil i.e. their combined effect as stabilizer on soil stabilization. Findings: It was observed that by introducing fly ash, sawdust and geotextile to the soil, the CBR values increase and thickness of pavement layer decreases. It also decreases the amount of stress on subgrade leading to enhancement of pavement stability with cost effectiveness. Research limitations/implications: Economical use of industrial waste has been proposed in the present research which otherwise prove to be a malady to climatic change and human health. From the study, an optimum dosage of fly ash (2.5%) and saw dust (5%) and depth for geotextile (6 cm) has been proposed. Originality/value: The article explores the possibility of a ternary blend, i.e., geotextile, fly-ash and saw dust on effectively stabilizing pavement subgrade. Limited literature was available to address the issue of utilizing the industrial wastes that otherwise pose disposal issues.

India is one of the most populated countries in the world and was famously known as the golden bird. It was known for its rich cultural heritage and some of the world’s most significant educational institutions. Over the countless decades and centuries, the invaders exploited the resources for their advantage. At the decline of the independence in 1947, it was left backward with one of the poorest economies of the world of that time. The richness of erstwhile India, the status of the golden bird, the sacred intellectual space that India occupied has only textual value for the present generation. Through this academic paper, an attempt has been made to address the following questions: what was the state of the economy of India during the pre- and post-independence period, how has India transformed herself from one of the most impoverished economies in 1947 to currently the third-largest economy in the world, and how is the current economic and non-economic status of India.

The current investigation is the first report of utilization of Aspergillus brasiliensis for the decolorization of melanoidin in distillery effluent. The effluent generated from alcohol distilleries is one of the most complex wastewater with a high biological oxygen demand (BOD) and other organic, inorganic, and toxic constituents. The effluent contains melanoidin, a dark brown compound, which is difficult to remediate by using conventional technologies. The disposal of spent wash in the natural environment is hazardous and can deteriorate land and water resources. The decolorization of spent wash through physical and chemical methods remains unsuitable, and the only alternative to decolorize spent wash is biological treatment. In the current study, three fungal strains were isolated from the distillery waste and screened for their ability to decolorize melanoidin. The isolate RS2 exhibited maximum decolorization of 83% and was identified as Aspergillus brasiliensis. Its optimum growth temperature was 37EC, and the maximum efficiency was recorded after 120 h of incubation. Nutritional sources were investigated for the fungi showing the maximum decolorization of melanoidin, and starch and peptone were found to be the best carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively. At 1.5% starch concentration and 1.5% peptone concentration, the decolorization level attained was 87.45% and 88.74%, respectively. A. brasiliensis exhibited a high potential to decolorize melanoidin. The decolorization percentage was high, which makes this fungus a potential candidate for use at the industrial scale for the bioremediation of spent wash.
