En este trabajo se estudian las pruebas de la inmortalidad del alma humana que ofreció Aristóteles, las cuales aceptó Tomás de Aquino y, asimismo, las que este añadió. Tras esto se agrega que L. Polo aceptó las pruebas precedentes, pero como en su antropología trascendental añadió -secundando la distinción real tomista actus essendi-essentia- que el ‘acto se ser’ personal es realmente distinto y superior a la ‘esencia del hombre’, la cual equivale a su alma (que es distinta, a su vez, por superior, a la ‘naturaleza corpórea’ humana), la inmortalidad hay que predicarla del alma, pero a la persona la debe distinguir algo superior, a saber, la evieternidad o coexistencia libre, cognoscente y amante con Dios.
This paper studies the proofs of immortality of the human soul offered by Aristotle, which were accepted by Thomas Aquinas and, likewise, the proofs that he added to them. After that, it is added that L. Polo accepted the preceding proofs, but as in his transcendental anthropology he added -supporting the real Thomist actus essendi-essentia distinction- that the personal ‚act of being’ is really different and superior to the ‚essence of man’ (equivalent to his soul, which is different, in turn, by superior, to his ‚corporeal nature’ of man), immortality must be predicated of the soul, but the person must be distinguished by something superior, namely, ‚evieternity’ or free coexistence, knowing and lover with God.
Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie dowodów na nieśmiertelność duszy ludzkiej, zaprezentowanych przez Arystotelesa, a które przyjął i rozwinął Tomasz z Akwinu. Leonardo Polo, wychodząc od arystotelesowsko-tomaszowych rozważań, a szczególnie od tomistycznego rozróżnienia actus essendi-essentia, rozwija w ramach swojej antropologii transcendentalnej pojęcie osobowego aktu bycia, stwierdzając, że jest on rzeczywiście różny i nadrzędny w stosunku do istoty człowieka (odpowiednika jego duszy, która z kolei jest nadrzędna w stosunku do natury cielesnej). Stąd nieśmiertelność musi być orzekana o duszy, ale osobę ludzką musi określać coś wyższego, a mianowicie, evieternity, czyli swobodne współistnienie, poznanie i kochanie Boga.

This article discusses the relationships between father Jozef Maria Bochenski and (organised by members of the Polish exiled independence movement) academic institutions in the United King-dom including: The Polish University Abroad, Polish Society of Arts and Sciences Abroad and Polish Catholic University Association „Veritas”. This article discusses little known and often overlooked by researchers aspects of Jozef community activism and scientific work. Showing the Eastern European Institute founder at the Catholic University in Freiburg as a sovietologist and a spiritual guide for Polish intellectuals and scientists living in exile (away from Soviet – dominated Poland). A man who never accepted the political system in Poland imposed after World War 2. Philosopher, who yearned for intellectual freedom and liberal education while criticising communism, demanded respect for Catholics’ rights and those nations oppressed by non-democratic regimes. The article also touches upon Bochenski’s didactic activity and his lifelong commitment to supporting other philosophers and logics – prof. B. Sobociński, prof. Z. Jordan and prof. Anna Teresa Tymieniecka.

Opis:
The aim of the article was to analyse the use of annals as sources for the first seventeen short biographies of bishops in Jan Długosz’s The Catalogue of Cracow Bishops which was written in its first version short after 1451. The research showed that Długosz used annals from Lesser Poland: The Annals of the Cracow Chapter, The Cracovian Annals, three Małopolska Annals from Dąbrówka’s Lubin Codex, Kuropatnicki’s Codex, Piotr of Szamotuły’s Heilsberg Codex, or their lost archetypes, and The Holy Cross Annals. Most often Długosz used The Annals of the Cracow Chapter and three Małopolska Annals from which he gained the dates of ordinations and deaths of Cracow bishops. The analysis also revealed that Długosz did not make use of the archetype of Małopolska Annals from Konrad Gesselen’s Królewiec Codex. The Cracovian Annals and The Holy Cross Annals were used by Długosz occasionally, each twice in the examined part of Długosz’s catalogue.

Opis:
The faith is one of the key issues of John’s Gospel. To believe means to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus, to listen to His word. In the context of the Hebrew verb אמן, to believe is to remain steadfast in His teaching, His commandments. The disciple’s faithfulness is based primarily on God’s promises, which are infallible. The act of „believing” is a dynamically developing process for John. This is why only the verb πιστεύω occurs in the text of the fourth Gospel, while the noun form ἡ πίστις is absent.
