Opis:
W artykule omówiono spostrzegane postawy rodzicielskie w powiązaniu z kształtowaniem się potencjału intelektualnego i twórczego adolescentów. Podstawowymi teoriami, z perspektywy których analizowano omawiane zagadnienie, były typologia postaw rodzicielskich Anny Roe i Marvina Siegelmana, teoria inteligencji ogólnej Charlesa Spearmana oraz teoria twórczości Stanisława Popka. Relacjonowane badania zostały przeprowadzone na grupie pełnoletnich uczniów liceum ogólnokształcącego, pochodzących z małych i średnich miejscowości. Zastosowano w nim Kwestionariusze PCR wersja „Moja matka” i wersja „Mój ojciec”, test TMS-K Ravena oraz Kwestionariusz Twórczego Zachowania KANH. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na występowanie związku między ochraniającymi i liberalnymi postawami rodziców w percepcji dorastających oraz ich inteligencją i kreatywnością.

Media społecznościowe są wykorzystywane w komunikacji marketingowej firm już od kilkunastu lat. Nadal jednak brakuje naukowych opracowań na temat zależności pomiędzy działalnością marek w środowisku cyfrowym a zachowaniem konsumentów. Dlatego głównym celem badań przedstawionych w tej publikacji była ocena możliwości budowania kapitału marek w mediach społecznościowych oraz określenie roli różnych czynników psychologicznych w tym procesie. W ramach poszczególnych działań badawczych autorka przeanalizowała współczesne kampanie komunikacji marketingowej w mediach społecznościowych i na tej podstawie zaproponowała nową kategoryzację przekazów. Następnie zbadała eksperymentalnie, jaki przekaz i jakie predyspozycje konsumenckie sprzyjają tworzeniu kapitału marki, a także przetestowała, jak sam kapitał może wpływać na responsywność użytkowników Internetu. Wyniki opisanych tu badań ułatwiają prognozowanie skuteczności komunikacji marketingowej w mediach społecznościowych i mogą być użyteczne zarówno dla naukowców, jak i przedsiębiorców, pracowników agencji reklamowych czy domów mediowych.
Social media have been used in branding and marketing communications for years. Little scholarly effort has been dedicated, however, to study consumer-brand relationships in this “not-so-new” digital environment. The main goal of the research project, which is presented in this book, was therefore to explore the mechanisms behind consumer-based brand equity in social media and to examine the role of various psychological factors in this process. The project consisted of several sub-studies. First, a large scale content-analytical study was performed to examine existing branding campaigns in social media and a new categorization of branded messages was developed. Next, a set of experiments was run in order to test what message types drive brand equity online and how brand equity itself can affect the responsiveness of Internet users. This book delivers very important findings about effectiveness of brand communication and building brand-consumer relationships online. Brand messages that depict any form of conflict (e.g. tell about problems to solve, obstacles to overcome or battles to fight) and use authenticity cues (e.g. are produced in a highly realistic way) achieve the highest viewership indicators in social media. Despite such popularity, they are less likely than other types of online content to build consumer-based brand equity. However, high-conflict and high-authenticity messages are most effective in producing positive results when they are used by high involvement brands and when they are targeted at consumers with very specific personality traits (i.e. high self-disclosure and openness to experience). The research findings presented in this book offer new insights about the mechanisms behind brand equity in social media. They contribute to the field of social sciences by revealing causal relationships between such variables and contexts that have been largely understudied thus far. Additionally, the current project allowed to collect valuable data on diverse product categories and their power to develop brand equity in social media. The results are helpful in predicting the effectiveness of branded content in social media, i.e. they provide answers to the question about what content drives what effects when targeted at a specific audience.

Dariusz Sagan utrzymuje, że istnieją trzy możliwe epistemiczne układy odniesienia: naturalizm metodologiczny, nadnaturalizm i artyficjalizm. Pokazuję, że w polskim piśmiennictwie, odnosząc się do współczesnego pojmowania naukowości, wyróżniono więcej epistemicznych układów odniesienia. Ponadto ujęcie Sagana jest zbyt wąskie lub przedwczesne, ponieważ historia nauki nie została jeszcze zbadana pod tym względem. W opinii Sagana Jodkowski i ja posługujemy się nazwą „artyficjalizm” w sposób niejednoznaczny: traktowana jest ona jako epistemiczny układ odniesienia teorii inteligentnego projektu lub jako epistemiczny układ odniesienia nauki jako całości. Teoria inteligentnego projektu jest wzorcowym przykładem dopuszczania wyjaśnień artyficjalistycznych i stąd właśnie bierze się największa ilość odniesień do tej teorii jako przykładu akceptacji tego epistemicznego układu odniesienia. Zdaniem Sagana przypisywanie epistemicznym układom odniesienia tak zwanych „twardych jąder”, jak czynię to ja, jest błędem. Nie jest to błąd, tylko efekt rozpoznanego od dawna w filozofii nauki faktu występowania nierozerwalnego związku między akceptowanymi założeniami metodologicznymi i akceptowaną metafizyką.
According to Dariusz Sagan, there are three possible epistemic frameworks: methodological naturalism, supernaturalism and artificialism. I aim to show that if we inspect the literature in Polish dealing with our contemporary understanding of science, we find that more epistemic frameworks have in fact been distinguished. Moreover, I argue that Sagan’s approach is too narrow, or premature, in that the history of science has not yet been fully examined in regard to this. According to Sagan, Jodkowski and I use the name “artificialism” in an ambiguous way: it is treated as an epistemic framework either for intelligent design theory or for science as a whole. The theory of intelligent design is a model example where artificialistic explanations are permitted, and so a maximal number of references to this theory is taken to itself be indicative of some sort of acceptance of this epistemic framework. Sagan also holds that ascribing so-called “hard cores” to epistemic frameworks, as I do, is a mistake. I, on the other hand, claim that that is not the case, as it is rather the effect of the fact — long-established in the philosophy of science — of the existence of an inseparable connection between the methodological assumptions we endorse and the metaphysical commitments we embrace.

The aim of the paper is to present the Pakistani nuclear program in the context of Scott D. Sagan’s models describing the causes of nuclear weapons proliferation. The typology consists of three models: the security, the domestic policy, and the norms. The author claims that the Pakistani program would be the most adequately present using the security model. The program was a response to both conventional and nuclear threat from India, which has been in permanent conflict with Pakistan.

Opis:
Digital photogrammetry is one of the intensively developing areas of technical sciences. Increasing participation in the surveying works have digital devices and solutions giving new possibilities in creation of the appropriate map elements and models as well. A particular role to play has the laser scanning technology allowing to present surveyed space or area in the 3D form. Digital Terrain Models for agricultural areas obtained on its basis may be presented in different ways using professional software. Due to the fact, that in recent years almost the entire Poland was covered with laser scanning, collecting information about the Earth’s surface in the form of a cloud of points with high accuracy is a relatively fast process and the results of their elaboration are widely used in many fields. The paper presents the methods of Digital Terrain Models visualization of agriculture areas for three different objects created on the basis of data derived from airborne laser scanning. The study included agricultural locations - two of them (Strzelce Wielkie and Kamionka Wielka) located in the Malopolskie Voivodship, the third - Mątowy Wielkie in Pomorskie Voivodship, in Żuławy. DTM visualizations were prepared in Macrostation, Terrasolid and Surfer 10 software. For the Mątowy Wielkie object the Digital Surface Model (DSM) was created additionally.

The article is an account of the life and death of Halldor Espelid, a young Norwegian RAF pilot born in Bergen, trained at “Little Norway” in Canada, shot down over occupied France, put in the POW camp for airmen in Sagan (now Żagań in Poland), arrested near Flensburg while taking part in the so-called Great Escape, and murdered at the age of 24 by the Kiel Gestapo. His body was cremated, his ashes buried at Sagan and later moved to the Old Garrison Cemetery in Poznań, Poland, together with the remains of 47 other participants of the famous Great Escape murdered at Hitler’s personal order.

Opis:
A project was developed concerning the operational system of surveillance and the recording of episodic events in the Baltic Sea. In situ information was to be combined with multi-sensory satellite imagery to determine the extent of algal blooms, to track their evolution and that of rapid environmental events like hydrological fronts. The main element of the system was an autonomous Ferry Box module on a ferry operating between Gdynia and Karlskrona, automatically measuring temperature, salinity and chlorophyll a fluorescence. At pre-selected locations, discrete water samples were collected, which were subsequently analysed for their phytoplankton content, and algal hepato- and neurotoxins; they were also used in toxicity tests with Artemia franciscana.
