Opis:
We present a Closed Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) model that supports a production planning (PP) process. CLSC model is based on CLSC framework model which consists of four main centers: collection, recovery center, distribution and disposal centers. These logistics parts support main production lines. Some quantity of the products is recovered and the factories don’t need to spend money for production. This is a simple cost reduction process. In CLSC literature one can hardly meet the models of production planning processes supported by CLSC. Important problem with that models is the computational complexity when one wants to prepare production plans for more than one time period. This is connected with a number of the numerical variables of the CLSC and PP models which are usually Integer Programming models solved with Branch & Bound algorithms. We present some modifications of the widely known and used constraints in the CLSC models to optimize solving process. All the experiments were conducted with the CPLEX solver.

Ip the article there is presented a concrete example of the detailed project of Production Planning ayonda. It constitutes a subsystem of an aggregate Information Management SyBtem of the industrial company designed by application of Nadler’s ideal standards method. The key idea in designing the agenda was a wish to strengthen key decisional processes - which the planning processes undoubtedly represent for the company - with computer techniques. There was made an attempt, an such utilization of the computer which would allow to increase substantially mental capacities of planners through experimentation by means of mathematical models. Among others there were applied here the following mathematical models. - taxonomic model of products evaluation, - linear prograaming model of generating the production assortment programme, - dynamic programming model of production flows planning. Such construction of the agenda asema to be securing possibilities of introducing relatively frequent changes in its project, which makes an essential feature of a good plan.

Opis:
In the paper, we present a coordinated production planning and scheduling problem for three major shops in a typical alloy casting foundry, i.e. a melting shop, molding shop with automatic line and a core shop. The castings, prepared from different metal, have different weight and different number of cores. Although core preparation does not required as strict coordination with molding plan as metal preparation in furnaces, some cores may have limited shelf life, depending on the material used, or at least it is usually not the best organizational practice to prepare them long in advance. Core shop have limited capacity, so the cores for castings that require multiple cores should be prepared earlier. We present a mixed integer programming model for the coordinated production planning and scheduling problem of the shops. Then we propose a simple Lagrangian relaxation heuristic and evolutionary based heuristic to solve the coordinated problem. The applicability of the proposed solution in industrial practice is verified on large instances of the problem with the data simulating actual production parameters in one of the medium size foundry.

Opis:
In this paper the method of production planning and control systems (PROEDIMS and SWZ) integration is presented. Both systems are parts of a distributed system which is thought as a replacement of large MRP / ERP systems for SMEs. This idea derived from the needs of several small and medium enterprises. In these kind of enterprises the larger stress is applied rather on technical preparation of production than tackling business problems. Integration is achieved by methods of data transformation and data mapping. The proposed data transformation interface uses neutral data formats like XML, XML schema, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations XSLT and XML Path Language. The functional scheme of the module for data exchange which is necessary for the interaction between the production planning module of PROEDIMS system and production orders verification system for a multiassortment, concurrent production (SWZ) has been proposed and various stages of data transformation have been discussed.

Opis:
Value Stream Mapping has been a key Lean tool since its publication in 1988, offering a strategic view on the reconfiguration of an organization’s processes to reduce overall lead time. It has since been used in many different domains beyond (car) manufacturing. However, the potential offered by its concise representation of both material flow and its controlling information flow seems to have been largely underused. Most literature reports on VSM in the context of waste detection and local improvements. VSM also supports redesigning the material flow (even on a supply chain level) towards (pure) pull systems. However, it fails to adequately give guidance on how to gradually evolve towards this ultimate ideal state. This paper wants to offer a significant contribution to practitioners on how to use VSM to bridge this gap. Another key challenge that remains largely unpublished is how to adapt the planning systems accordingly at each reconfiguration of the material flow. This paper presents extensions to the basic VSM tool to meet these challenges. It includes a more comprehensive 5-level hierarchy that allows to position most lean flow-related techniques. It also extends the basic “door-to-door” VSM with new symbols to accommodate these techniques into the map. Finally, it introduces a new set of 13 questions to support redesigning not only the material flow, but also the information flow. The resulting richer future state maps better support the gradual evolution towards a leaner future shop floor, as illustrated with an example.

Opis:
A novel approach for treating the uncertainty about the real levels of finished products during production planning and scheduling process is presented in the paper. Interval arithmetic is used to describe uncertainty concerning the production that was planned to cover potential defective products, but meets customer’s quality requirement and can be delivered as fully valuable products. Interval lot sizing and scheduling model to solve this problem is proposed, then a dedicated version of genetic algorithm that is able to deal with interval arithmetic is used to solve the test problems taken from a real world example described in the literature. The achieved results are compared with a standard approach in which no uncertainty about real production of valuable castings is considered. It has been shown that interval arithmetic can be a valuable method for modeling uncertainty, and proposed approach can provide more accurate information to the planners allowing them to take more tailored decisions.

Opis:
The traditional production planning model based upon a deterministic approach is well described in the literature. Due to the uncertain nature of manufacturing processes, such model can however incorrectly represent actual situations on the shop floor. This study develops a mathematical modeling framework for generating production plans in a multistage manufacturing process. The devised model takes into account the stochastic model for predicting the occurrence of faulty products. The aim of the control model is to determine the number of products which should be manufactured in each planning period to minimize both manufacturing costs and potential financial penalties for failing to fulfill the order completely.

In accordance with the requirements of the modern market, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need to offer a wide range of products tailored to the specific and individual requirements. The success of many enterprises, which work in mass production system and use economic effect of scale pro-duction slowly is a thing of the past. There are many enterprises, generally small and medium manufacturing in unit and small batch production, for which it is necessary to develop optimal methods of production planning, taking into account the flexible production requirements, matched to the time-varying customer’s demand. The article presents the production planning based on TOC in conditions of mass customization. Presented solutions are used in modern practice.

Opis:
Intensive development of technologies, in particular of the spinotronics, nanotechnology, robotics, and ICT, shapes the new generation production systems. Their distinctive feature is the flexibility associated with production intelligence. It is required from all processes, including the production planning and control processes (PPCP). The article is of conceptual character. It was prepared based on literature research. It encompasses issues related to Next Generation Manufacturing Systems, including Intelligent Manufacturing Systems in particular, covering solutions for PPCP. The article was also built upon the results of research on the level of automation of Polish manufacturing enterprises. The research results in the development of general assumptions of an informatic management system for the transformation of PPCP for technologically advanced and organizational production systems. The system has a modular structure resulting from its functions, which include identifying the need for transformation, its goals and vision, planning, design, implementation and evaluation of transformation. It takes the technical, organizational, socio-psychological and economic aspects of transformation into account. Choosing the right solutions for PPCP purposes allows for flexible adaptation to the requirements and needs of the environment. Its essential part is the knowledge database, thanks to which it is possible to shape the system’s intelligence.
