Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest poezji białoruskiej wydanej w tłumaczeniach na język polski na początku XXI w. Szczególna uwagę skierowano na antologię młodej poezji białoruskiej "Pępek nieba" oraz na antologię poezji białoruskiej od XV do XX wieku "Nie chyliłem czoła przed mocą". Autorka odwołuje się do podobnych publikacji, które ukazywały się w Polsce w latach ubiegłych, porównuje z nowszymi tomami tłumaczeń, śledzi zmiany w składzie autorów reprezentujących poezję białoruską, zwraca uwagę na pojawienie się nowych przekładów nie tylko tekstów młodych poetów, lecz także kolejnych polskich adaptacji utworów autorstwa klasyków literatury białoruskiej. Odnotowuje też pewne luki w ogólnej panoramie poezji białoruskiej XX w., przedstawionej na łamach antologii Nie chyliłem czoła przed mocą, wskazuje drobne uchybienia i niedociągnięcia w omawianych wydaniach.
This article is dedicated to the Belarusian poetry published in translations into Polish at the beginning of the 21st century. Special attention is paid to the anthology of the young Belarusian poetry “The navel of the heaven”, and to the anthology of the 15th–20th century Belarusian poetry “I didn’t tilt of my head under the power”. The author refers to similar publications, which have appeared in Poland in recent years, and compares them to the latest volumes of translations. She tracks changes in the list of authors representing Belarusian poetry, and draws attention to the emergence of new translations, not only the texts of young poets, but also the subsequent Polish adaptations of the works by classics of Belarusian literature. The author also mentions some gaps in the overall panorama of the twentieth century Belarusian poetry, which was presented on the pages of the anthology “I didn’t tilt of my head under the power”. Minor weaknesses and deficiencies in these publications have been discussed.

Opis:
Russian tradition treats ornamental prose as a kind of prose employing additional semantic and rhythmical codes. B. Schulz’s works correspond to this definition, although signals of the secondary coding are not always correlated to their Russian equivalents (both rhythmical formulas and devices of narration). The chosen translation strategies are determined by the translator’s proximity to the aesthetics of Russian ornamentalism and the tradition of Russian ornamental prose.

Artykuł ukazuje specyfikę twórczości tłumacza poezji w doborze adekwatnych leksykalnych odpowiedników dla dokładnego przekazania treści oryginału. Urzeczywistniono porównawczą analizę niektórych poezji Tarasa Szewczenki i Iwana Franki i ich polskich interpretacji. Pokazana została obecność podobnych leksykalnych elementów w spokrewnionych słowiańskich językach, które dają możliwość, w niektórych wypadkach, urzeczywistnienia dosłownych tłumaczeń. Wyartykułowane zostały trudności w odtworzeniu historycznego kontekstu i indywidualistycznych właściwości oryginalnego tekstu.
In the article author describes the specific character of poetry translator work in selection of adequate lexical equivalents for the exact transmission of the original content. The article contains comparative analysis of some poetries by Taras Shevchenko and Ivan Franka and their Polish interpretations. It also shows the presence of similar lexical elements in the family of slavonic languages which enables to carry out a word-for-word translation in some cases. The author examines difficulties in recreation of historical context and individual properties of original text.

Opis:
In this commentary, we will limit ourselves to presenting the reception of Czech literature in Poland and Polish literature in the Czech Republic in the year 2018. Czech and Polish literature reaches its readers across their respective borders in several ways: via translations of books by well-known and esteemed writers; through representatives of the younger generation; and as translations of prose and poetry published in magazines. The reception of Polish and Czech literature has been very positive; specifically, there is a growing interest among Polish readers in Czech literary offerings.
Bibliografie je rozdělena do dvou částí, z nichž první zahrnuje Bibliografii překladů polské literatury v České republice za rok 2018 a druhá Bibliografii překladů české literatury v Polsku za rok 2018, obě části obsahují přeloženou literaturu. Zpracovaná bibliografie se nevěnuje výhradně knižním položkám, ale zohledňuje i překlady umístěné v časopisech. Činnost nakladatelství v Polsku a v České republice, jimi konsekventně realizovaná kulturní, vydavatelská politika a příslušná popularizátorská strategie se podílejí na obohacení dialogu mezi kulturami. Česká a polská literatura si v obou zemích budují silnou pozici, která se postupně zlepšuje. Konečným cílem celého projektu je zajistit odborníkům a čtenářům prostřednictvím řady Przekłady Literatur Słowiańskich vyčerpávající seznam publikací překladů české a polské literatury vydané na území České republiky a Polska v roce 2018.

Ve studii se obzvlaśte zamerujeme na pritomnost tvorby ceskych spisovate- lek v Polsku po roce 1989. Ceska literatura znama v Polsku pochazi predevśim z per muzu. Dnes se situace meni. V nejnovejśi ceske literature se zensky hlas ozyva dm dal tim casteji. A je to rozhodny, silny hlas autorek, jejichz tvorba je v soucasnosti prekladana do polśtiny. V poslednich letech se prekladaji knihy ceskych autorek predevśim mladśi generace. Pri vyberu literatury prezentovane v Polsku hraje podstatnou roli kontext knizniho trhu, medii a „jazykoveho prumyslu“. Na zaklade teorie pole, kapitalu a habitu Pierra Bourdie je ve studii rec o roli prekladatele jako aktivniho agenta v literami komunikaci.
In the article we pay special attention to the presence of Czech female writing in Poland after 1989. The Czech literature which has been known in our country is primarily male writing. Today the situation is changing. In the latest Czech literature, women are becoming more and more significant. These are determined and strong female authors whose work is currently translated into Polish. In recent years, books by Czech female writers, particularly of a younger generation, have been translated. The context of the book market, the media and ‘the language industry’ are essential factors when choosing the presented literature. Based on Pierre Bourdieus theory of field, capital and habitus, the article is concerned with the role of a translator as an active agent in literary communication.

The paper analyses selected Polish translations of British and American press articles published in the magazine Forum in the years 1965 – 1989. In communist Poland, all such texts were censored before publication, which forced the translators to avoid content and language that could be banned by censors and to adopt a specific style of expression known as Newspeak. The paper lists the linguistic phenomena in the target language that represent features typical of Newspeak and identifies manipulative procedures which led to their occurrence, using a corpus of 25 English texts and their Polish translations.

Among the letters which Stanisław August exchanged with Catherine II and Nikita Panin in the times of the Bar Confederation there are several ones which were translated into Polish. The translations were probably connected with the propaganda offensive prepared by Stanisław August and the Czartoryski family, aimed at convincing the society that the monarch and the leaders of the “Family” did not inspire the dissenters to strive for political equality, nor did they support the kidnapping of the senators perpetrated by Nikolai Repnin. The translated texts prove that the king opposed the Russian actions. Eventually, Stanisław August did not decide to promote the translated texts, still less – to publish them.The attempt to conciliate the king and his uncles with the rebellious nations, which was to appease the country, did not bear fruit.

Článek věnuje pozornost úskalím překladu nové „pražské literatury”. Analizuje polské překlady tří románů: Hodrové Podobojí, Ajvazova Druhého města a Topolovy Sestry. Zdůrazňuje, že promíchání stýlů, konvencí, světů L. Engelking ovládá téměř vzorně, vybírá však i pracovní postupy, jež oslabují vztah textů k pražské tradici a topografii. Pražský kontext je zde důležitý jako východisko, avšak v překladatelově strategii je často oblast zvláštního podřazena srozumitelnosti, tedy obecnému významu.
The article engages attention to the translation problems of a new „Prague literature”. It analyzes three polish translations of the following novels Podobojí by Hodrová, Druhé město by Ajvaz and Sestra by Topol. It underlines that L. Engelking overcame almost perfectly mixture of the styles, convention, words; but on the other hand he chooses the solutions that weaken the relation between Prague tradition and topography. The Prague context is important as a starting point, however in a translator strategy Prague specific is often subordinated to a general meaning.

The study focused on possessive adjectives derived by means of the suffixes -ow(y), -in, -sk- formed from proper personal names in old and contemporary translations of the New Testament. Adjectival derivatives have been excerpted from 15 full and 6 incomplete translations of the New Testament, which date back to the 16th, 17th and 20th century. These translations differ in methods of translation (loose and word-for-word; philological, interlinear, ecumenical, dynamic and artistic) and its basis (Greek original or Latin Vulgate). The comparative analysis of old and contemporary translations shows that possessive adjectives, though used frequently in former times, are now going out of use and the substantival genitival attribute is taking their place. This phenomenon is reflected in processes linked with the development of the Polish language. Moreover, tracking the use of the type of adjectives analysed can be used to distinguish various methods of translation. The use of possessive adjectives in contemporary texts suggests respect for the tradition of translation, whereas the failure to use them – the modernization of Polish.

The author presents the research on lexis and style of Polish translations of The Story of Alexander the Great – a manuscript translation by Leonard of Bończa (1510) and an anonymous print publication of 1550 as a comparative source; both sources constitute a series of translations. The manuscript provides an interesting lexical material (especially various synonymic equivalents placed in the glosses), which can broaden our knowledge on the affluence of lexical resource of Old Polish language. The study of translational practice of a medieval author opens up new perspectives of research, because of varied use of Latin in Polish language. The 16th century print publication sheds some light on the stylistic and linguistic characteristics of the manuscript, indicating constant and variable elements of the language.

W pracy uwzględniono docelowo 68 wydań, które ukazały się na przestrzeni lat 1815-1900. 34 spośród nich bazowały na tłumaczeniu przyjętym w Biblii Gdańskiej a 34 na tłumaczeniu Jakuba Wujka. Spośród analizowanych edycji wskazano na 27, według których ukazywały się kolejne polskie wydania Nowego Testamentu (w XIX wieku). Obok zidentyfikowanych poszczególnych modeli, w pracy zaproponowano także 7 linii edycyjnych.
The presented article reviews publications of 19th century Polish New Testament in order to find editorial models upon which subsequent editions were based. The work considers 68 editions published between 1815–1900. The first half of them were based on the translation adopted in the Danzig Bible and the second half on the translation by Jakub Wujek. Among the analyzed editions, 27 were identified, according to which subsequent Polish New Testament were published (in the 19th century). In addition to the editorial models indicated, the work also proposes 7 editing lines.
