    Opis:
    Das Werk Manfred Peter Heins, der zwei Jahre vor Hitlers Machtantritt in Ostpreußen geboren wurde, in Westdeutschland studiert hat und Ende der 50er Jahre nach Finnland übergesiedelt ist, wurde bisher primär unter der Perspektive analysiert, wie er – etwa in der Nachfolge Johannes Bobrowskis – mit dem Thema „Vergangenheitsbewältigung“ umgegangen ist bzw. mit dem gerade im polnisch-deutschen Kontext brisanten Thema „Flucht und Vertreibung“. Der Beitrag soll zeigen, dass diese inhaltliche Festlegung dem Themen- und Perspektivenreichtum vor allem seiner Lyrik nicht gerecht wird, dass zu seiner Welt noch andere Regionen gehören als „nur“ die östlichen Nachbarländer Deutschlands.
    Manfred Peter Hein urodził się w Prusach Wschodnich dwa lata przed objęciem władzy przez Hitlera, studiował w Niemczech Zachodnich i pod koniec lat pięćdziesiątych wyemigrował do Finlandii. Jego dzieło analizowano dotychczas głównie z perspektywy tego, w jaki sposób – jako następca np. Johannesa Bobrowskiego – odnosił się do tematu „przezwyciężania przeszłości“ lub aktualnego szczególnie w stosunkach polsko-niemieckich zagadnienia „ucieczki i wypędzenia“. Niniejszy przyczynek stawia sobie za cel pokazanie, że takie treściowe zawężenie nie wyczerpuje bogactwa tematycznego i wieloperspektywiczności przede wszystkim liryki pisarza i że świat przedstawiony w jego utworach obejmuje jeszcze inne regiony niż „tylko“ wschodnich sąsiadów Niemiec.
    The work of Manfred Peter Hein, who was born in East Prussia two years prior to Hitler’s accession to power, studied in West Germany and emigrated to Finland in the late 50s, has primarily been analysed from the perspective of how he – for example in the wake of Johannes Bobrowski – deals with the process of coming to terms with the past, or rather the, in a Polish-German context, highly sensitive theme of „flight and expulsion“. This essay should demonstrate that this limited view is not justified given the richness of themes and perspectives found in his poetry, in particular; that his world consists of other regions than „only“ the eastern neighbouring countries of Germany.

    The overall survival (OS) of patients suffering From various tumour entities was correlated with the results of in vitro-chemosensitivity assay (CSA) of the in vivo applied drugs. Material and methods. Tumour specimen (n=611) were dissected in 514 patients and incubated for primary tumour cell culture. The histocytological regression assay was performed 5 days after adding chemotherapeutic substances to the cell cultures. n=329 patients undergoing chemotherapy were included in the in vitro/in vivo associations. OS was assessed and in vitro response groups compared using survival analysis. Furthermore Cox-regression analysis was performed on OS including CSA, age, TNM classification and treatment course. Results. The growth rate of the primary was 73-96% depending on tumour entity. The in-vitro response rate varied with histology and drugs (e.g. 8-18% for methotrexate and 33-83% for epirubicine). OS was significantly prolonged for patients treated with in vitro effective drugs compared to empiric therapy (log-rank-test, p=0.0435). Cox-regression revealed that application of in vitro effective drugs, residual tumour and postoperative radiotherapy determined the death risk independently. Conclusions. When patients were treated with drugs effective in our CSA, OS was significantly prolonged compared to empiric therapy. CSA guided chemotherapy should be compared to empiric treatment by a prospective randomized trial.

    Opis:
    Infrared (IR)-A irradiation can be useful in back and musculoskeletal pain therapy. In this study joint and vertebral column pain and mobility were measured during two weeks of IR-A irradiation treatment of patients suffering from degenerative osteoarthritis of hip and knee, low back pain, or rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, before and after IR-A treatment MDA serum levels were measured to check if MDA variations accompany changes in pain intensity and mobility. Two-hundred and seven patients were divided into verum groups getting IR-irradiation, placebo groups getting visible, but not IR irradiation, and groups getting no irradiation. In osteoarthritis significant pain reduction according to Visual Analogue Scale and mobility improvements occurred in the verum group. Even though beneficial mean value changes occurred in the placebo group, the improvements in the placebo and No Irradiation groups were without statistical significance. In low back pain, pain and mobility improvements (by 35-40%) in the verum group were found, too. A delayed (2nd week) mobility improvement in rheumatoid arthritis was seen. However, pain relief was seen immediately. In patients suffering from low back pain or rheumatoid arthritis, the pain and mobility improvements were accompanied by significant changes of MDA serum levels. However, MDA appears not a sensitive biofactor for changes of the pain intensity in degenerative osteoarthritis. Nevertheless, unaffected or lowered MDA levels during intensive IR-A therapy argue against previous reports on free radical formation upon infrared. In conclusion, rapid beneficial effects of IR-A towards musculoskeletal pain and joint mobility loss were demonstrated.
