Opis:: The article entitled: „Price as a value affecting the phenomenology of Polish crime against industrial property” depicts the potential impact of products’s prices on the phenomenon of crime. The article begins with the analysis of consumers’s and producers’s behavior on the illegal market (a.k.a. grey area). Specifying, author describes the law of supply and demand in the terms of organized crime. In the text the reader gets to know definition of a trademark in the Polish legal system. In what follows the modus operandi of criminal groups counterfeiting trademarks is presented. Futhermore writer not only researches falsifications of goods in Poland, but also formulates statistical date (police, judicial and penitentiary). The paper ends with the comparison of illegal activity to enterprise.

Opis:: In terms of simulation research, it is important to simulate real conditions as precisely as possible. This type of approach makes it possible to minimize the error in the obtained results. The dynamics of acceleration is one of the most important factors having a direct impact on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions from vehicles. The work was carried out with the use of PTV Vissim microscopic vehicle motion simulation software. The considerations were carried out on theoretical acceleration profiles with different dynamics values and the actual character of acceleration, recorded during road tests. The simulations were carried out for a car powered by spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines. The research showed that the calibration of the acceleration character of the vehicle in simulation tests may result in significant differences in obtained results of exhaust emissions.

The paper is a survey of few simple and profitable methods of strengthening masonry structures, which can be used during their redevelopment. The first chapter is an introduce to a whole topic. It is a survey of the most common causes of damage in masonry structures and gives instructions, how to identify them. In the second chapter is shortly described the methodology of research on masonry structures, which can be used by everyone. The third chapter concerns the main topic: selected methods of strenghtening this kind of structures. There are also some examples of research devices and morphology of cracks included.

Opis:: In the paper, the author outlines the subject of crime among foreigners of Vietnamese origin in Poland. The Vietnamese residing in Poland were characterised as an introduction. Subsequent waves of immigration, their causes, problems of integration with the society, feeling of dissimilarity, and general features of this minority were analysed. Basic statistical data regarding the size of this group, regulations regarding the legality of their stay, and other important information were presented. Work performed in Poland, carrying out business activities, and everyday life were taken into account. In the second part of the paper, crime among the citizens of Vietnamese origin was analysed. The analysis was based mostly on figures extracted from police, penitentiary, and judicial statistics. Data on the number of persons of Vietnamese nationality in prisons and detention centres, the amount of crime related to irregular crossing of an external border, and other data characterising criminal behaviours of this group were presented. Moreover, examples of illegal activities including areas particularly at risk were given. The author emphasised that the Vietnamese are suspected of illegal crossing of external borders, smuggling, drug offences, and unlawful acts related to the widely understood commerce. A statistic regarding the Vietnamese convicted by a final court judgement in 2014 in view of the full extent of crime was demonstrated. In this case, penalties and penal measures ordered by the Polish judicial system and the categorisation of offences compliant with the legislation in effect. To conclude, the crime dynamics in Poland in 2003–2005 was presented.

Opis:: The article based on a criminological analysis of penal transportation. The author talked over three main issues. Firstly, the paradigm of classical criminology that was valid in those days. Moreover, the researcher took into account substantive and procedural law, that is the applicable criminal regulations and the activities of the justice system in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Thirdly, it was necessary to describe the living conditions in Australian and Tasmanian penal colonies. The author comes to the conclusion that penal transportation was testified about a punitive and inhumane law system. In addition, its effectiveness was questionable.
Artykuł opiera się na analizie kary zesłania. Autor porusza trzy główne kwestie. Po pierwsze, omówiono aktualny w tamtych czasach paradygmat kryminologii klasycznej. Następnie wzięto pod uwagę prawo karne materialne oraz procesowe, czyli obowiązujące przepisy i działalność wymiaru sprawiedliwości w Zjednoczonym Królestwie Wielkiej Brytanii i Irlandii. Po trzecie, w opracowaniu powyższej tematyki niezbędny był opis warunków bytowych w australijskich i tasmańskich koloniach karnych. Autor dochodzi do wniosku, że orzekana kara zesłania świadczyła o punitywnym i niehumanitarnym systemie prawa. Ponadto wątpliwa była jej skuteczność.

Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki pomiarów toksyczności spalin samochodu dostawczego w rzeczywistych warunkach ruchu. Celem badań było zweryfikowanie wpływu stylu jazdy kierowcy na emisję substancji szkodliwych w spalinach. Do realizacji celu wykonano pomiary emisji drogowej podstawowych gazowych związków toksycznych w spalinach emitowanych do atmosfery przez jednostkę napędową pojazdu. Do pomiarów zawartości poszczególnych zanieczyszczeń gazowych wykorzystano mobilną aparaturę do badań toksyczności spalin typu PEMS.
The article presents the results of measurements of exhaust emissions of commercial vehicle in real traffic conditions. The aim of this study was to determine how the driving style effects on the exhaust emissions from vehicle engine. The determinants were the measurements of the concentration of main toxic substances emitted to the atmosphere from the power unit of the tested vehicle. In the measurements a portable exhaust emission analyzer was used (PEMS type).

Opis:: This article is a result of researches concerning influence of the elements of kickboxing and profiled circuit training on the overall fitness of members of dispositional groups, such as antiterrorists. Taking into account the special features necessary for such people, for the experiment we chose exercises that are the best to develop them. Members of dispositional groups need special preparation so they could efficiently fight with the offenders, who threat the security. The research experiment described is of interdisciplinary character, as it regards an interdisciplinary branch of studies – securitology. Security studies, to develop the security culture, must be based on empiric researches and consists of practical elements, as there is no place for speculative theories of doubtful quality here. Therefore researches on special preparation of dispositional groups are of great importance.

Opis:: The management of biodegradable waste from various sectors of economy is an essential element in terms of environmental protection. The paper discusses issues related to the possibility of bio-waste treatment using anaerobic digestion technologies and composting processes, highlighting the conditions for the processes and their advantages and disadvantages. The challenges of overproduction of bio-waste faced by highly developed countries around the world are also presented. Research showed that the anaerobic digestion of this waste combines both biofuel production and a circular economy. The popularity of this method is linked, among others to a low cost of raw materials and wide range of possible uses for biogas (i.e. electricity, heat, or biomethane). In addition, an alternative bio-waste management option, compost production, was discussed. The study aimed to compare anaerobic and aerobic bio-waste management processes.
Zagospodarowanie odpadów biodegradowalnych pochodzących z różnych gałęzi gospodarki jest niezbędnym elementem w aspekcie ochrony środowiska. W artykule omówione zostały zagadnienia związane z możliwością przetwarzania bioodpadów wykorzystując technologie fermentacji metanowej i procesu kompostowania, z podkreśleniem warunków prowadzenia procesów oraz ich wad i zalet. Przedstawione zostały także wyzwania związane z nadmierną produkcją bioodpadów, przed którymi stoją państwa wysokorozwinięte na całym świecie. Prowadzone badania pokazują, że fermentacja beztlenowa omawianych odpadów łączy zarówno produkcję biopaliw oraz gospodarkę obiegu zamkniętego. Popularność omawianej metody jest związana m.in. z niskim kosztem surowców oraz szeroką możliwością wykorzystania produktu jakim jest biogaz (tj. elektryczność, ciepło lub biometan). Ponadto omówiona została tematyka związana z alternatywną możliwością zagospodarowania bioodpadów jaką jest produkcja kompostu. Celem pracy było porównanie procesów beztlenowego i tlenowego zagospodarowania bioodpadów.

Opis:: Vehicle exhaust emissions depend on multiple factors, such as the emission norm, driving parameters (speed, acceleration) or the technical condition of the vehicle. These driving parameters may often depend on the condition of the road infrastructure and other factors influencing road conditions. The article attempted to assess the emissivity during acceleration of a vehicle powered by a compression ignition engine. Mapping the actual values is possible with the use of exhaust emission measurement equipment that operates under the actual operating conditions of a vehicle. Recently, an increase in the use of simulation methods in research of this type has been observed. The authors decided to check the suitability of using road traffic simulation software to estimate the $CO_2$ emissions during vehicle acceleration. The obtained results are promising, because in terms of the emissions of the analyzed exhaust gas component, the simulation results differed from the results obtained during measurements with the use of Portable Emissions Measurement System (PEMS) equipment by less than ±20%.

Opis:: In Poland, the number of vehicles owned per capita is systematically increasing. There is also a noticeable increase in traffic in large urban agglomerations. This creates a number of problems, such as difficulties in finding a parking spot. Then it becomes necessary to search for a long time to stop, which is correlated with higher emission of harmful substances and energy consumption. The aim of the work is a multi-criteria analysis of the selection of a parking spot at a shopping center focused on travel times, pollutant emissions and fuel consumption. In addition, consideration was given to the selection of the optimal parking spot. The tests were carried out in Real Driving Conditions similar to Real Driving Emissions testing. The procedure, currently used as an extension of the type-approval tests, reflects the actual exhaust emissions from vehicles more accurately than tests under laboratory conditions. Specialized PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement System) apparatus was used for the measurements.
