    The Norwegian model of industrial democracy was not developed until the seventies although processes of developing this democracy had begun much earlier- The Norwegian Labour Party and the trade union federation on the one hand and the confederation of employers on the other exerted the biggest influence on development of just such a model. Its essence boils down, first of all, to various forms of workers' control over ownership. A basic role in the Norwegian model is played by the indirect democracy forms. Among them are works councils composed of the same number of workers' and management's representatives. These are typically advisory bodies aiming primarily at improvement of the enterprise's economic effectiveness. . Workers' representatives constitute one third of their members. Empirical studies point at their restricted role in the decision-making process, and it especially refers to the enterprise's assembly, as th eir activity is overshadowed by that of trade unions.

    Model norweski stanowi próbę całościowego ujęcia recenzowanych publikacji naukowych we wszystkich obszarach wiedzy – z uwzględnieniem preferowanych typów publikacji i języków publikacji w naukach humanistycznych – za pomocą jednego ważonego wskaźnika, pozwalającego porównywać efekty badań naukowych wewnątrz różnych instytutów i wydziałów oraz pomiędzy instytucjami badawczymi. W artykule opisano główne składniki Modelu, metodę jego wdrożenia oraz efekty i doświadczenia trzech krajów wykorzystujących go, w których przeprowadzono jego ewaluację: Belgii (Flandrii), Danii i Norwegii. Zakończenie zawiera analizę Modelu z perspektywy nauk humanistycznych.
    The ‘Norwegian Model’ attempts to comprehensively cover all the peer reviewed scholarly literatures in all areas of research – including the preferred formats and languages of scholarly publishing in the humanities – in one single weighted indicator which makes the research efforts comparable across departments and faculties within and between research institutions. This article describes the main components of the model and how it has been implemented, as well as the effects and experiences in three of the countries that are making use of the model, and where it has been evaluated: Belgium (Flanders), Denmark and Norway. The article concludes with a discussion of the model from the perspective of the humanities.

    Building upon insights from earlier investigations of innovation collaboration from A regional perspective as well as the triple helix perspective, local/regional innovation systems and open innovation approaches, this study explores whether cooperation between firms, universities and government increases the intensity of innovation equally for the capital city and peripheral regions. We investigate whether firms located in the capital region benefit more from public support, cooperation with universities, and cooperation with different stakeholders than firms located in peripheral regions. Using logistic binary regressions, we find that capital region firms are generally not more innovative than those located elsewhere. We also find no effect on innovation from cooperation with universities, although public support is related to engagement in product and process innovations. Our results warn against simple applications of triple helix and open innovation approaches, as many forms of collaboration seem to have little impact on innovation, regardless of regional context.

    Crude oil exploitation forms the basis for the Norwegian economy and the main source of its high level of economic development. Such dependence, however, could be the reason for the emergence of a set of harmful economic phenomena known as the ‘Dutch disease’. Norway avoided most of the negative effects of the ‘Dutch disease’ as a result of conducting effective economic policy in this regard. The subject of the paper is the verification of the hypotheses that Norway has not fully been able to avoid the impact of the exchange rate channel of the ‘Dutch disease’, which consists of appreciation of the national currency and thus weakening competitiveness in international markets. Verification of this hypothesis was based on an examination of the interrelationship between the time series course NOK/EUR and the price of Brent crude oil, over a time interval from May 2003 to January 2015. This analysis used an econometric macro-model built in accordance with the Engel-Grainger methodology. The results of this analysis showed that the exchange rate channel was active in the Norwegian economy, albeit with different intensities in different periods of the sample interval.
    Wydobycie i eksport ropy naftowej jest podstawą gospodarki Norwegii i stanowi podstawowe źródło jej wysokiego poziomu rozwoju gospodarczego. Takie uzależnienie może być powodem pojawienia się zespołu niekorzystnych zjawisk gospodarczych określanych mianem „choroby holenderskiej”. Norwegia uniknęła większości negatywnych efektów „choroby holenderskiej” na skutek prowadzenia skutecznej polityki gospodarczej w tym zakresie. Przedmiotem opracowania była weryfikacja hipotezy, iż nie w pełni udało się jej uniknąć oddziaływania kanału walutowego tej „choroby holenderskiej” polegającego na aprecjacji waluty krajowej i tym samym pogarszaniu konkurencyjności na rynku międzynarodowym. Weryfikacja tej hipotezy dokonana została w oparciu o badanie współzależności pomiędzy  szeregami czasowymi kursu NOK/EUR i cen ropy Brent obejmującymi przedział czasowy maj 2003 – styczeń 2015. W analizie tej wykorzystany został model ekonometryczny zbudowany zgodnie z metodologią Engla-Grangera. Wyniki tej analizy wykazały, że kanał walutowy „choroby holenderskiej” był w gospodarce norweskiej aktywny, aczkolwiek z różną intensywnością w poszczególnych okresach badanego przedziału czasowego.
