About nine substituted (E)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones have been synthesized by solvent-free method. These enones were analyzed by spectral techniques. The characteristic spectral frequencies were correlated through Hammett equation with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-regression analysis method. From the statistical analysis results, the quantitative structure activity relationships have been discussed by means of effects of substituents on the spectral frequencies.

Opis:
Elven (E)-1-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-ones are formed using sodium hydroxide catalyzed Aldol condensation between 4-bromoacetophenone and substituted benzaldehyde. The production of these chalcone compounds are above 90%. These α, β unsaturated ketones were specified by their physical constants and spectral data (UV, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR). Hammett substituted constants (σ, σ+, σI & σR and F and R parameters have been used for correlating the spectral values of these α, β unsaturated ketones by using single and multi-linear regression analysis. The impacts of substituents on the spectral data have been known on statistical analysis. By using Bauer-Kirby method the anti-microbial activities of these (E)-1-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(substituted phenyl)-2-propen-1-ones compounds are estimated.

Opis:
Some novel substituted hydrazone derivatives of amino guanidine have been synthesized with different substituted benzaldehydes by condensation method. The synthesized hydrazones were characterized by their physical constants, UV, IR and NMR spectra. The spectral data have been correlated with Hammett substituent constants and Swain–Lupton parameters. From the result of statistical analysis, the effects of substituents on the spectral data have been predicted. The antimicrobial activities of these synthesized hydrazone compounds have been screened by Bauer-Kirby method using human pathogenic bacteria and fungal species. The antimicrobial activities of all synthesized hydrazone compounds have shown significant activity.

Opis:
A series of N-(substituted phenyl) formamides were synthesised by sulphated titania (TiO2-SO4 2-) catalyzed formylation of substituted anilines and formic acid in acetonitrile medium at room temperature. The synthesised formamide derivatives are characterized by their spectral data. The infrared νNH, CO (cm-1) stretches, chemical shifts(δ, ppm) of NH, COH and ipso carbons(Ar-C-NH) were assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants using single and multi-regression analysis. From the results of statistical analyses, the effect of substituents on the spectral data have been studied.

A series of seven titled compounds have been prepared and their purities were examined by literature method. The characteristic infrared stretching frequencies (, cm-1) and the NMR chemical shifts (, ppm) of these anilines were assigned. These assigned spectral data were correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-regression analysis. From the statistical results the effect of substituents on the spectral data have been discussed. The antimicrobial activities of these aniline derivatives have been evaluated by Bauer-Kirby disc-diffusion method.

Opis:
About nine 4-substituted 1-naphthacyl bromides and its esters have been synthesized by greener synthetic method using fly-ash catalyzed water mediated reaction.  These acyl bromides and esters have been characterized by their physical constants, Mass, IR and NMR spectral data.  These carbonyl frequencies(cm-1) of existed rotomers of these compounds have been assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F, R and Swain-Lupton’s parameters.  The insect antifeedant activities of the synthesized acyl bromide and esters have been evaluated using 4th instar larvae Achoea Janatha L.

About more than 85% yields of some aryl sulphonamides were synthesised by sodium acetate catalysed ultrasonication promoted condensation of aryl amines and benzene sulfonyl chlorides in room temperature. The synthesised sulfonamides were analysed with their physical constants, micro analysis and spectral techniques. The antioxidant potential of these sulfonamides were assessed by DPPH radical scavenging activity measurement using L-ascorbic acid as a standard. Antimicrobial activities of these sulfonamides have been assessed by disc diffusion method against their antimicrobial stains. Most of the sulfonamides shows antimicrobial activity. Many of the hydroxy and methoxy substituted sulfonamides showed significant antioxidant activity.

More than 60% yield of the titled compounds, (5-bromothiophen-2-yl)(3-substituted phenyl) bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-2-yl)methanones were prepared and examined their purities by literature method. The characteristic infrared spectral frequencies (cm-1) and NMR chemical shifts (ppm) of these ketones were assigned. These spectral data were applied to Hammett equation with Hammett substituent constants for prediction of effects substituent using single and multi-regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis, the electronic effect of substituents on the spectral data has been studied.

A series containing thirteen 3-(2-naphthyl)-5-(substituted phenyl)-4,5-dihydroisoxazole have been synthesized and examined their purities by their data reported earlier. The characteristic infrared νC=N (cm-1) stretches, NMR chemical shifts (δ, ppm) of H4,4׳, H5 protons, C3-5 carbons were assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants and Swain-Lupton’s parameters using single and multi- regression analysis. From the results of regression analysis the effect of substituents on the spectral data have been studied.

Some aryl chalcones have been synthesized by Cu2+/Zeolite catalyzed aldol condensation of aryl methyl ketones and substituted benzaldehydes under microwave irradiation conditions. We have synthesized eleven numbers of 1-{[3-(furan-2-yl)-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazol-4-yl]methyl}-4-methyl piperazines by hydroxyapatite catalyzed microwave assisted condensation method. The synthesized 1-{[3-(furan-2-yl)-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazol-4-yl]methyl}-4-methyl piperazine compounds were characterized by means of their IR and NMR spectral data. The assigned infrared spectral νC=N, νC-O-C stretches(cm-1), NMR chemical shifts of isoxazoline (d) proton, isoxazoline (m) proton, N-CH3, C=N, C-NH2 and C-NH3 (δ, ppm) of these 1-{[3-(furan-2-yl)-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1,2-oxazol-4-yl]methyl}-4-methyl piperazines were assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi linear regression analysis. From the results of statistical analyses, the effects of substituents on the above group frequencies were discussed.

A series containing eleven benzofuranyl flavonols have been prepared by cyclization of 3-hydroxybenzofuranyl chalcones with 30 % hydrogen peroxide in the presence of sodium bicarbonate. The synthesized flavonols were characterized by their physical constants, analytical and spectroscopic data. The infrared spectral νOH, CO stretches(cm-1), NMR chemical shifts of OH, CO(δ, ppm) of these flavonols were assigned and correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi linear regression analysis. From the results of statistical analyses, the effects of substituents on the above group frequencies were discussed.

A series of some aryl 1,3-oxazine-4-thione derivatives have been synthesized by 1-methyl imidazole catalyzed three component one pot synthetic method in room temperature. The purities of these thiones were studied by their physical constants and spectroscopic data. The infrared and 13C NMR spectral data of CN and CS were correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters using single and multi-linear regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis, the effect of substituent on the spectral data was studied.

About nine (E)-(2,5-dinitrophenyl)-2-(substituted benzylidene)hydrazines have been synthesized by hydroxy apatite catalyzed condensation of 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine and substituted benzaldehydes under microwave irradiation conditions. The obtained yields of these hydrazines are more than 85%. The purities of synthesized hydrazines are examined by the analytical and spectroscopic data reported earlier. The infrared spectral C=N, NH frequencies (v, cm-1) and the NMR spectral chemical shifts of CH, NH protons and carbons are assigned and are correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameter using single and multi-regression analysis. From the results of statistical analysis the effects of substituent on the group frequencies have been discussed. The antioxidant activities of these synthesized hydrazines were measured using DPPH radical scavenging method. The hydroxy- and methoxy- substituted hydrazines shows significant antioxidant activity.
