The article presents the selected economic-organisational aspects of music school management by a local authority unit. The author focuses on the issues related to the costs of upkeep of a music school, the opportunities of obtaining additional funds and management control by the headmaster. The thesis of thearticle is the statement that the headmaster establishing an association or a foundation, which will support the school financially, is a solution for the insufficiency of the funds received for its functioning.In the light of the binding regulations, school is a public finance budget unit, therefore, all the funds obtained by school, e.g. from letting a concert hall, are the property of the managing body. That is why the headmaster, when searching for additional funds, is forced to reach for unconventional solutions in the forms of establishing an association or a foundation.

In 2023, the Rev. Cardinal Franciszek Macharski Archdiocesan Music School in Krakow celebrates its 25th anniversary. The present article discusses the history of the institu[1]tion – the activities of the Archdiocesan Organist Study Centre, from which the jubilarian school originated, the circumstances of the creation of the Archdiocesan Organist School in 1998 and the expansion of its activities in 2006 to the Archdiocesan Primary and Sec[1]ondary School of Music. Through the analysis of documents from the school’s archives, the prospects for the development of students and the activities of teachers are presented. The enormous role in the history of the school played by three people is also outlined – Prof. Wiesław Delimat, the school’s founder and headmaster, Rev. Prof. Robert Tyrała, the current Rector of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, and above all Rev. Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, patron and good spirit of Archdiocesan Music School

The major aim of the research is to analyse the type and complexity of emotions which adolescent musicians experience before giving a solo music performance. Another aim is to explore the function of these emotions for performance quality. Just before a school concert, students filled out The UWIST Mood Adjective Checklist (UMACL). Right after the performance, both the performing students and competent referees used The Performance Evaluation Scale. The results show that musicians’ pre-performance emotional state is dominated by ambivalent emotions of hope and sadness, as well as joy and anxiety. As a result of a cluster analysis, six clusters were obtained which defined emotional states before the performance: high music performance anxiety, moderate music performance anxiety, calm, mixed emotions, joy with background fatigue, and excitement. The findings show the functional significance of positive emotions and mixed emotions for performance quality.

The paper presents the results of research conducted among parents of children attending music school. Its aim was to phenomenographically reconstruct the ways of conceptualising participation in musical culture. The analysis of the collected research material allowed for the identification of a number of categories indicating the individual and social contexts of this participation. The issues related to cultural competences, different ways of perceiving the music by the surveyed persons are of particular interest. The contexts relating to the family, its mechanisms and establishment of family ties also deserve special attention.

Article focuses on issues related to the selected dimensions of the psychosocial functioning of music school students. Directly concerns the relation between personality traits of musically talented youth and perceived level of receiving social support. The research presented in this article was conducted among students of Polish music schools in different regions of the country. As part of this study used authoring tool for (1) measuring social support for music school students, the content of which specific questions adapted to the specific school of music and (2) Paul Costa and Robert McCrae Personality Inventory NEO-FFI. The results of the research allowed to indicate the strength of the association between the level of personality traits of music school students and the types of social support (emotional support, instrumental, informational and evaluative) received from various social groups (parents, teacher of the main subject, other teachers, colleagues from the music school, colleagues outside music school). In the dimension of social support studies were innovative and in terms of personality traits allowed polemics to previous studies carried out in the population of Polish students of music schools and abroad research.

W artykule zaprezentowano cyfrowy warsztat pracy współczesnego nauczyciela bibliotekarza szkoły muzycznej I i II stopnia. Zwrócono uwagę na otwarte zasoby edukacyjne przydatne w codziennej pracy bibliotekarzy muzycznych. Wskazano biblioteki cyfrowe i strony edukacyjne podejmujące zagadnienia związane z muzyką klasyczną, udostępniające druki muzyczne i scenariusze lekcji. Przybliżone zostały także podstawy prawne funkcjonowania bibliotek szkolnych.
The article presents the workshop of a contemporary teacher of a primary and secondary music school librarian. The attention was paid to open educational resources useful in the daily work of music librarians. Digital libraries and educational websites dealing with issues related to classical music, providing music prints and lesson scenarios were indicated. The legal basis for the functioning of school libraries was also discussed.

Architektura formuje zbiorowy artefakt, jakim jest miasto. Z niego też czerpie swoje charakterystyczne cechy, wyrażając jego problemy w swoim stylu i formie. Miejscem, którego tożsamość w naturalny sposób reprezentuje wartości kulturowe i społeczne jest budynek kultury. Sala koncertowa szkoły muzycznej w Jastrzębiu Zdroju projektu zespołu Kozień Architekci mógł stać się symbolem kultury, pozostając przede wszystkim obiektem edukacyjnym. Założenia projektu oparte były na analizie szczególnych cech miejsca. Na tej bazie ustanowiono relacje pomiędzy częściami obiektu, przez co sposób organizacji funkcjonalnej obiektu przyjął indywidualne cechy. Architektura to ciągłe kontynuowanie istniejących układów, praca nad formą, która już istnieje.
Architecture forms a collective artifact that is the city. It also draws its characteristics from the city, expressing its problems in style and form. A culture building is a place which identity naturally represents cultural and social values. Kozień Architects’ project of the music school could become a symbol of culture, being primarily an educational facility. Project assumptions were based on the analysis of the site. On this basis, we established relationships between parts of an object, so the object’s functional organization has adopted individual characteristics. Architecture is a constant continuation of the existing systems, working on a form that already exists.

Presented article addresses issues related to the music school as an institution supporting and developing the creativity of its students. Creativity is a category that in today’s reality is perceived as an important cultural competence, and it seems important to what extent music education takes actions conducive to its development. The article presents the results of research carried out among 11 teachers of first-cycle music schools. The research was of qualitative nature and the interview was used to collect the research material. Research topics focused on a variety of conditions, ways, accelerators and inhibitors of the process of developing students’ creativity. Conclusions from the analysis of collected material indicate the need for teacher education in the area of supporting and developing students’ creativity, respecting their subjectivity and responding to their needs. Also important in this context are activities concerning the program and organizational side of the school’s music operation, optimizing education processes. 
Prezentowany artykuł podejmuje problematykę związaną ze szkołą muzyczną jako instytucją wspierającą i rozwijającą kreatywność swoich uczniów. Kreatywność to kategoria, która we współczesnej rzeczywistości postrzegana jest jako istotna kompetencja kulturowa,toteż wydaje się istotne, na ile szkolnictwo muzyczne podejmuje działania sprzyjające jej rozwojowi. W artykule prezentowane są wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród 11 nauczycieli szkół muzycznych i stopnia. Badania miały charakter jakościowy, a do zgromadzenia materiału badawczego wykorzystany został wywiad. Problematyka badawcza koncentrowała się wokół różnorodnych uwarunkowań, sposobów, akceleratorów i inhibitorów procesu rozwijania kreatywności uczniów. Wnioski płynące z analizy zgromadzonego materiału wskazują na potrzebę edukacji nauczycieli w obszarze wspierania i rozwijania kreatywności uczniów, respektowania ich podmiotowości i odpowiadania na ich potrzeby. Ważne są również w tym kontekście działania dotyczące programowej i organizacyjnej strony funkcjonowania szkół muzycznych, optymalizujące procesy edukacji.

Objectives Music educators are subjected to many physical and psychological stresses encountered in the workplace. These stresses could be counteracted by certain work-related behavior and experience patterns as personal resources to reduce the negative consequences of stress. The aim of the study was to determine the existing work-related behavioral and experiential patterns and the characteristics of the Work-Related Behavior and Experience Patterns (Arbeitsbezogenes Verhaltens- und Erlebensmuster – AVEM) questionnaire dimensions in the professional group of music educators according to age group. Material and Methods A total of 205 music educators (66.3% female) from various music schools in Germany participated in the online survey. The subjects were divided into 3 age groups (AG): AG I: ≤35 years, AG II: 36–45 years, AG III: ≥46 years. In addition to sociodemographic and occupational data, the standardized AVEM questionnaire was used according to Schaarschmidt and Fischer. The age and occupation-related data were evaluated in a correlation analysis with the expression of AVEM dimensions. Results A total of 71.4% of the music educators were ≥46 years old group. Another 12.8% belonged to AG II, and 15.8% belonged to AG III. The sex distribution in the 3 age groups was comparable (p = 0.261). The expression of all AVEM dimensions was within the reference range. The most pronounced dimension, with a stanine value of M±SD 5.2±2.15, was the willingness to spend. There was also no significant difference in the assignment to the 4 patterns in the 3 age groups (p = 0.669). Age showed a negative correlation with the experience of social support (ρ = –0.354). Conclusions The age-independent and high intervention-requiring expressions of the AVEM risk patterns A and B led to the recommendation of workplace prevention and health promotion measures. Therefore, it seems reasonable to promote appropriate stress management measures and resilience during studies.

The aim of the article is to clarify key terminology connected with the concept of psychological resilience and to present the chosen methods of supporting and developing resilience in the artistic educational environment. In the literature concerning resilience the existence of various protective factors, vital for developing such resilience (as bonds with relations, individual characteristic features and abilities of a child, the school and off-school environment) has been proved. In the article the importance of psycho-educational workshops has been pointed out in enhancing the sense of efficacy, self-confidence and developing the ability to cope with stress. The school and its prophylactic actions are essential to positive adaptation of its students. Programmes of positive prophylactics have influence on the youth and help them prepare to cope with stress in everyday life. On the basis of that assumption the structure of workshops “To tame stage fright” has been presented. Those workshops, held in music schools, serve to shape the students’ ability to cope with stage fright during public performances.Key words: psychological resilience, stage fright, music school.
Celem niniejszej pracy jest przybliżenie kluczowych pojęć związanych z koncepcją odporności psychicznej, czyli resilience, oraz przedstawienie wybranych metod wspierania i budowania jej w warunkach edukacji artystycznej. W literaturze dotyczącej resilience dowiedziono istnienie różnych czynników chroniących istotnych w budowaniu odporności, takich jak: relacje i więzi z bliskimi, indywidualne cechy i zdolności dziecka, środowisko szkolne oraz środowisko pozaszkolne. W artykule podkreślono ważność warsztatów psychoedukacyjnych we wzmacnianiu poczucia skuteczności oraz pewności siebie i w kształtowaniu umiejętności radzenia sobie ze stresem. Szkoła i prowadzone w niej działania profilaktyczne są istotne w adaptacji uczniów. Programy pozytywnej profilaktyki mają wpływ na lepsze przygotowanie młodzieży do radzenia sobie ze stresem w życiu codziennym. Założenie to legło u podstaw przedstawionej tutaj struktury prowadzonych w szkołach muzycznych warsztatów „Oswoić tremę”, mających za zadanie kształtować w uczniach umiejętność radzenia sobie ze stresem w czasie publicznych występów.

Opis:
The purpose of the article is to consider the influence of music education on the organization of the time of children and adolescents, to emphasize the educational role of music in the period of growing up. “Children’s” fragments of E. Vodolazkin’s novel Brisbane and a collection of stories by the children’s writer N. Dashevskaya About Music, with reference to her other books, are analyzed. The subject becomes a cross-cutting motif of music, which holds together the artistic whole of the texts. It participates in the construction of plots, organization of the system of characters, influences the structural characteristics and lexical composition of texts. The importance of the musical motif lies in presenting to readers the relationship “teacher (master) – student” as a realization of the teenagers’ need for authority.

The article How to bring a text closer to pupils? Reading the „Pan Tadeusz” novel in the primary music school presents the way of discussing it in art schools. The author based her experiance on results of researching, that had shown, a text is quite interesting for pupils, if it concerns areas, that are connected and intersected with pupils passions, hobbys and so on. Going forward, in the music school, the Author is focused on these part of the novel, that appears references to the music in. Finally, after many classes concerned on a difficult novel written by Adam Mickiewicz, pupils created a song, which lyrics are based on the mentioned novel.
