piękno w sacrum - Opis:
- Convent annals, instruments that have survived the convent’s tempestuous history, and a small number of preserved musical documents attest to the advanced and sophisticated musical culture of the Convent of the Poor Clares in Stary Sącz. The term “frakt” that appears in various documents has puzzled musicologists and musicians alike. Given the paucity of primary sources, it is difficult to formulate a clear definition of this concept. The Poor Clares of Stary Sącz developed their own system of musical notation, but no information indicating how it should be interpreted has survived. The article presents a performance hypothesis on the interpretation of the Poor Clares’ musical notation, taking into account the current state of scholarship and the author’s experience as a performing musician.
