    The article presents the results of experimental researches of the bond between steel and high strength concrete. According to the results of the experiment planned, the regression equation can be used in aim to analyze an impact of specific factors on the limit stresses on the surface of concrete and a steel bar, as well as to normalize the limit stresses of the bond. The adequacy of the mathematical models of bonds to the experimental data has been proved by the statistical methods.

    Opis:
    Thermal Modification of Wood by the Method of Thermo-Mechanical Dehydration with Pressure Drop. The results of experimental research of thermal wood processing by the method of high temperature drying with pressure drop are presented. Drying was carried out cyclically by heating the material under pressure to the temperature 100-140 oC followed by pressure drop. After that the temperature was raised up 160-210 oC and the samples were processed briefly in those conditions. This treatment is shown to be effective for largesized wood.
    Termiczna modyfikacja drewna metodą termo-mechanicznego suszenia z redukcją ciśnienia. Przedstawiono wyniki badań eksperymentalnych obróbki termicznej drewna metodą suszenia wysokotemperaturowego ze spadkiem ciśnienia. Suszenie prowadzono cyklicznie poprzez ogrzewanie materiału pod ciśnieniem do temperatury 100- 140 oC, a następnie redukcji ciśnienia. Kolejno temperaturę podwyższano do 160-210 oC i realizowano obróbkę termiczną. Modyfikacja tego typu okazała się szczególnie skuteczna w przypadku elementów drewnianych o dużych rozmiarach.

    Outstanding Ukrainian educator Anton Makarenko created children’s labor colonies, which applied at that time innovative methods of raising children, and passed the severe street school. He trained many individuals who actively participated in the reconstruction of industry and agriculture. The authors of this article share their personal experience of establishing the street children rehabilitation center of the 90s, in which they used methods, which are mainly based on the well-known method of education of Makarenko.

    Opis:
    The paper deals with the construction and calculation of a stripped gravity map with a high de gree of accu acy. In the Western Carpathian basins such types of gravity maps represent the corrected Bouguer anomalies by the gravity effects of the Tertiary sedimentary masses. It means that the re sultant stripped gravity map reflects the gravity effects of den sity inhomogeneities, which are located beneath the pre-Tertiary basement. For determination of this map, the modern progres sive forward-mod elling gravity method was applied. The advantage of this method in comparison with previous approaches is that it is capable of calculating the 3D gravity effects of the geological bodies with real topography. A case study for presentation of a new and precise stripped gravity map, the Liptovská Kotlina Basin, was chosen, because it is one of the best-surveyed basins in the West ern Carpathians. This new gravity map represents, for this moment, the most accurate stripped gravity map in the whole Western Carpathians. It allows construction not only of a very precise 3D gravity model of the sedimentary fill but also enables interpretation of the sources of the gravity anomalies revealed in the stripped gravity map. This interpretation is based on all available geophysical and geological constraining data. It is also supported by 2D analysis of the gravity effects of the main tectonic units building the Liptovská Kotlina Basin.
