Opis:: The importance of quality management practices in the achievement of operational results and customer satisfaction in logistics has been asserted in many studies. Satisfy the customer through the control of the triptych "Quality, Cost, Time". Therefore, the survival of enterprises must include control of all processes. Or, find the links existing between the logistics chain parts and requirements of the quality process is not easy, for this reason it is better to make mapping process to award the possible links so that we can adapt these two concepts together. This paper presents the results of an exploratory survey investigating the status of quality management practices in the logistics function in the logistics chain of shipping maritime transportation.
Znaczenie praktyk zarządzania jakością w osiąganiu wyników operacyjnych i zadowoleniu klienta w logistyce udowadniane było w wielu badaniach. Satysfakcjonowanie klienta poprzez kontrolę tryptyku "jakości, kosztów, czasu". Dlatego też prawidłowe funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstwa musi obejmować kontrolę nad wszystkimi procesami lub znaleźć powiązania istniejące między elementami łańcucha logistycznego i wymaganiami jakościowymi procesów, co w rezultacie nie jest łatwe. Z tego powodu korzystniejsze będzie stworzenie procesów mapowania dla przydzielania ewentualnych powiązań, tak abyśmy mogli dostosować te dwa zagadnienia razem. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania ankietowego oceniającego poziom praktycznego zarządzania jakością funkcji logistycznych w transporcie żeglugą morską.

Opis:: The aim of the article is to outline the characteristics of supply chain management (SCM) in Bulgaria on the basis of data from the Bulgarian business practice and to reveal the existing reserves for improvement. The research methodology includes the systemisation and development of variables measuring two aspects of SCM: internal - the integration between the company's functions, and external - the integration between the companies in the supply chain. Personal interviews on the basis of a questionnaire were used for the collection of the data. The general conclusion is that there are organizational prerequisites for internal integration of the logistics activities in the Bulgarian companies and they become more cooperative towards their partners too. But they lag behind the foreign companies in the areas of goals setting and performance management, the investments in information technologies and the greater focus on the relationships with customers. A main outcome of the research is the development of the model of SCM application in Bulgaria which constitutes of three phases: traditional relationships, coordination, collaboration and full integration. The second phase consists of three stages that correspond to different degrees of coordination. The role of the logistics sector for SCM is also assessed. Although the logistics service providers in Bulgaria lag behind the logistics sector in well-developed countries, as a whole they demonstrate an aspiration for the improvement of their competitive position and proneness to implement contemporary business practices which could contribute to the success of SCM application in Bulgaria.

Opis:: The dynamic changes in the global economy has caused the rapid growth of transport needs. Outsourcing and off-shoring has increased the distance between the particular places where the production process is provided. Therefore, logistics has become more macro-scale than before. Maritime traffic is therefore the main transport mode served a global movements of goods. Such companies like Maersk, NYK or Hanjin are today a global transport players offering a wide scope of service. Proper functioning of maritime transport needs also a good developed system of seaports. Effectiveness and efficiency of global transport is depend on seaports infrastructure, equipment, staff and management. So, seaports has become a critical element of supply chains concept. In the following analysis, the relation between the main requirements of supply chain management (SCM) and contemporary practice of seaports management are investigated. The type of port management systems and its operation model will reflect on the possibility of implementation of SCM. In the last part of presented elaboration main pros and cons of particular solutions of port management are defined and indicated.

Opis:: Aiming at meeting the general EU transport policy objective, the EC has started promoting very actively the sustainable development of the member states transport systems. Putting into effect common framework and methodology for estimating the external costs of transport activities and specifying how external costs can be internalized in all modes of transport, the EC intends to minimize their negative impact on all spheres of human activity. This strategy needs to apply social marginal cost pricing (SMCP) for the use of transport infrastructure. It could, however, induce significant changes on the EU transport markets and subsequently affect the supply networks and logistics supply chains leading to their rationalization in terms of optimizing transport and inventory costs.

Opis:: Analiza bibliometryczna artykułów naukowych dostarcza cennych informacji o strukturze zarówno nauki, jak i jej wybranych obszarów (np. zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw). Autorzy artykułu dokonali przeglądu publikacji w "Gospodarce Materiałowej i Logistyce" za lata 2010-2012 z zastosowaniem narzędzi analizy bibliometrycznej. Celem przeglądu była identyfikacja obszarów badawczych w zakresie zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw oraz ustalenie zawartości i struktury. Cel badań został zrealizowany poprzez analizę bibliometryczną bazy opublikowanych w latach 2010-2012 artykułów (ich anglojęzycznych abstraktów). Rezultaty analizy posłużyły do sformułowania wniosków dotyczących kluczowych, newralgicznych kierunków rozwojowych badań zarządzania łańcuchem dostaw w polskim obszarze badawczym na najbliższe lata.
Bibliometric analysis of scientific articles provides valuable information on the structure of both science and the selec- lod areas (eg. supply chain management). The authors reviewed the publication in „Materials Management and Logistics” for the years 2010-2012 using bibliometric analysis tools. The purpose of the review was to identify areas of research in the field of supply chain management and to determine the content and structure. Aim of the study was carried out by analyzing the bibliometric database for 2010-2012 published articles (the English-language abstracts). Bibliometric analysis confirmed the high performance potential of supply chain management as an area of scientific and research activities. Despite the narrow time frame of the analysis in the study area was observed high variability subjects of articles (as well as research projects, the underlying). Some research areas have remained unchanged, and the number of published articles confirmed the continued interest of researchers defined issues (eg. transport processes within the supply chain). In some of the analyzed periods occurred more than average interest in part of the problem areas.

Badanie kosztów funkcjonowania systemu logistycznego pozwala na kompleksowe spojrzenie na ich kształtowanie/formowanie w całym łańcuchu dostaw oraz w pojedynczych jego ogniwach.
Logistics costs is a category extremely significant costs in terms of profitability of economic activities, as indicated by their relatively high participation in relation to the income. Identification and analysis of logistics costs in enterprises causes significant problems for small and medium-sized enterprises especially, due to adopted method of economic actions recording. In this paper the authors present the implemented methodology and the results of research on the size and structure of logistics costs in small and medium enterprises in relation to the firm generated revenue. Results of analyzes have been compared to results of research in other countries. Then authors point on the methods of logistics costs accounting in the surveyed companies. Logistics costs not only significantly reduce profits, but because narrow exploration of the problem, it is also an important reservoir of enterprise competitiveness improvement. However, before managers take actions to improve the size and structure of logistics costs, in many cases they should deal with inappropriate, inaccurate, or even the lack of logistics costs accounting. Cognitive and analytical action in the area of logistics costs seems to be a first fundamental step in taking corrective actions in this area.
