    Opis:
    Sewage sludge constitutes a source of valuable biogenic raw materials, but it is a carrier of many pathogenic microorganisms and viruses. Subjected to an effective sanitization by means of the process of composting, it is suitable to use in agriculture as fertilizers. The aim of this study was to observe the survival rate of Suid Herpesvirus under the influence of the temperature alone (water bath) as well as in sewage sludge subjected to the process of composting (pile). The samples were taken at different time intervals, and the virus titres were determined. The viruses survived considerably longer under laboratory conditions: at 30°C as long as 21 days, at 40°C - 93 hours, and at 50°C - less than an hour. In the compost pile, in spite of the lack of the thermophylic phase, the total survival time of the viruses ranged from 34 to 44.5 hours, which indicates the vast importance of other physicochemical factors, apart from the temperature, contributing to virus inactivation.

    The effect of composting and anaerobic fermentations under meso- and thermophylic conditions (37° and 55℃) on the survival of bovine parvovirus (BPV) and Aujeszky’s disease viruse (ADV) in meat wastes has been examined in this study. Viruses were adsorbed on filters and introduced into carriers which were made of meat fragments of different sizes and bones or in the form of suspension they were introduced into the biomass in the course of processes of waste treatment. Carriers were removed at appropriate time intervals and virus titres were determined. The thermoresistant parvovirus survived for the longest time during mesophylic fermentation (almost 70 days), slightly shorter during composting (7-9.5 days depending on the type of carrier) and for the shortest time – at 55℃ (46-76 hours). Its inactivation rate was the fastest in a suspension, slower in meat and bone carriers. ADV inactivation proceeded considerably faster, as compared with BPV. Its active particles were not detected as early as in the 30th minute of thermophylic fermentation, the 6th hour of mesophylic fermentation and at the first sampling time during composting (at the 72nd hour). Total survival time ranged from 50 min to 13 hours. All the tested technologies enabled the effective elimination of ADV and on average twofold decrease in BPV titre. From the study conducted it follows that of both viruses, the BPV should be applied for validation processes of methods used in meat waste processing, particularly if this refers to methods where higher temperature is the factor inactivating pathogens.

    If sportsman is achieving considerable success and realizes his goals he is also gaining social acceptance. However the pursue of public admiration can also apply to non-successful athletes. The word narcissus in the everyday use has a straightforward negative connotation – being in love with oneself, loving only him/herself. However feeling of pride and self-content is not a symptom of a disorder but of selfacceptance which is crucial for one’s normal development, without which we are not able to function normally. In order to obtain reliable answers to the question concerning the level of narcissistic features 505 professional sportsmen took part in the study. The sports they practiced were team sports, martial arts and individual sport activities. The control group were 697 individuals who have never trained any sport professionally. In the study we used Ruskin’s and Hall’s Narcissistic Personality Inventory (Polish adaptation by Bazińska and Drat-Ruszczak, 2000), were narcissism is considered as personality variable. Results of presented research of narcisstic sportsmen stereotype – nonathletes do not differ from athletes. It is concluded that difference in narcissism between athletes and non-athletes is stereotypic. Only women training martial arts characterize higher level of narcissistic features.

    The interest taken in one’s own appearance is most often studied with reference to the population of women, however over the recent years concentrating on one’s looks concerns men as well. Generally men are more satisfied with their appearance than women and physical attractiveness is not an important element of Self for men as it is for women. 996 men, aged 18 to 29, took part in our study where we measured 1) their attitude towards their bodies with the Body Esteem Scale (Franzoi, Shields, 1984, Polish normalization by Lipowska, Lipowski, 2013), 2) the level of their narcissistic traits, examined with the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (Raskin, Hall, 1981) in Polish adaptation by Bazińska, Drat-Ruszczak, 2000). Additionally we used objective information from body measurements: weight, height and sizes of individual body parts. All that information allowed us to calculate anthropometric indices, such as body mass index (BMI), index of central obesity (ICO), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and waist-to-chest ratio (WCR). Our results show that the majority of men are satisfied with their body weight, though some of them would like to increase it by building up the musculature. Anthropometric indices describing level of obesity and type of body shape don’t predict a participant’s body satisfaction. The level of narcissism proved to be essential predictor of satisfaction with one’s own physical appearance, but only among men taking up activity aimed towards the correction of body weight. Higher level of narcissistic traits was related to higher focus on one’s appearance, more positive attitude towards body and higher involvement in losing weight or “building” muscles.

    In this article, an analysis of an innovative system for filtering signals in the audible range (16 Hz - 20 kHz) on programmable logic devices using a filters with a finite impulse response, is presented. Mentioned system was neat combination of software and hardware platform, where in the program layer a multiple programming languages including VHDL, JavaScript, Matlab or HTML were used to create completely useful application. To determine the coefficients of polynomial filters the Matlab Filter Design & Analysis Tool was used. Thanks to the developed graphic layer, a user-friendly interface was created, which allows easily transfer the required coefficients from the computer to the executive system. The practical implementation made on the FPGA platform, specifically on the Altera DE2- 115 development kit with the FPGA Cyclone IV, was compared with simulation realization of Matlab FIR filters. The performed research confirm the effectiveness of filtration in real time with up to 128th order of the filter for both audio channels simultaneously in FPGA-based system.

    W ostatnim czasie rola kanałów dystrybucji oraz ich kształt podlega dynamicznym zmianom. Z jednej strony technologie informacyjne oraz rozwój firm logistycznych powodują wzrost możliwości realizacji i znaczenia sprzedaży bezpośredniej. Z drugiej strony charakterystycznym trendem jest wielokanałowość sprzedaży i w konsekwencji zmiany zachodzące w procesach zakupowych konsumentów. Wpływ na te przemiany mają także nowe kanały komunikacji, które wprost pozwalają przenieść konsumenta z sytuacji poszukiwania informacji do procesu zakupu. W efekcie zanika stopniowo rola tradycyjnych pośredników rynkowych, których funkcje przejmowane są w szczególności przez kanały komunikacji, co w dłuższym czasie będzie powodowało dalsze konsekwencje.
    Recently, the role of distribution channels and its design has changed. On one hand, information technologies and logistics development cause an increase of direct sales importance. On the other hand, a distinctive trend is the multi-channel sales and, consequently, changes in consumer buying process. The effects of these changes are also new channels of communication that expressly allow the consumer to move from a situation of searching for information to purchase process. As a result, disappearing gradually role of traditional market intermediaries whose functions are taken over in particular by communication channels, which in the long term will cause further consequences.

    Artykuł prezentuje wybrane przepisy prawne obowiązujące w Polsce, które pozwalają na zdefiniowanie warunków bezpieczeństwa pacjenta w procesie jego leczenia. Prezentacja przepisów prawnych ukazana jest w perspektywie innowacyjności opieki zdrowotnej, definiowanej jako wprowadzanie i wykorzystywanie nowych technologii medycznych podczas udzielania świadczeń zdrowotnych pacjentom, także w oparciu o przepisy prawne. Zagadnienie prezentowane jest z perspektywy prawnej oraz zarządzania w ochronie zdrowia, w oparciu o obserwacje własne autora, wynikające z jego pracy naukowej oraz doświadczeń zawodowych. Na tej podstawie podjęta została próba sformułowania implikacji prawnych i praktycznych zagadnienia bezpieczeństwa pacjenta w odniesieniu do dynamicznie rozwijających się technologii medycznych.
    The purpose of this article is to present selected legal provisions that allow to define the patient’s safety conditions in the treatment process in Poland. Presentation of legal regulations is shown in the perspective of health care innovation, defined as the introduction and use of new medical technologies when providing health services to patients, also based on legal provisions in Poland. The issue is presented from the legal perspective and management in health care, based on the author’s own observations resulting from his academic work and professional experience. On this basis, an attempt will be made to formulate the legal and practical implications of patient safety in relation to dynamically developing medical technologies.

    The aim of this study is to identify the legal characteristics of contracts for the health care services provided by a public payer, i.e. the National Health Fund (NFZ) as part of treatment covered by universal health insurance, as compared to those provided by the health care providers with public or private legal status. This issue is discussed in relation to the legal conditions for the treatment of patients on a commercial basis in those institutions (private or public) which have contracts for the provision of healthcare services under the general health insurance (so-called contracts). The discussion is presented based on author’s own observations, resulting both from his scientific studies in the field of medical law and his work in various entities operating in the health care system.
