Opis:
An analysis is presented for free vibration of a non-homogeneous visco-elastic circular plate with linearly varying thickness in the radial direction subjected to a linear temperature distribution in that direction. The governing differential equation of motion for free vibration is obtained by the method of separation of variables. Rayleigh-Ritz's method has been applied. Deflection, time period and logarithmic decrement corresponding to the first two modes of vibrations of a clamped non-homogeneous visco-elastic circular plate for various values of non-homogeneity parameter, taper constant and thermal gradients are obtained and shown graphically for the Voigt-Kelvin model.
W pracy przedstawiono analizę drgań swobodnych niejednorodnej lepko- sprężystej płyty kołowej o liniowo zmiennej grubości w kierunku promieniowym i poddanej polu temperatury o liniowym rozkładzie w tym kierunku. Konstytutywne równanie różniczkowe ruchu dla drgań swobodnych otrzymano poprzez separację zmiennych. Zastosowano metodę Rayleigha-Ritza. W wyniku analizy wyznaczono ugięcie płyty, okres drgań i logarytmiczny dekrement tłumienia dwóch pierwszych postaci drgań dla warunków brzegowych odpowiadających zamocowaniu niejednorodnej płyty na brzegu. Wyniki przedstawiono graficznie w funkcji parametru niejednorodności, stałej zawężania grubości oraz zmiennego gradientu temperatury przy wykorzystaniu modelu reologicznego Kelvina-Voigta opisującego właściwości materiału płyty.

Opis:
Treatment of Municipal wastewater by Electrocoagulation (EC) process using punched aluminium and zinc electrodes was studied in a batch EC cell reactor. Response surface methodology (RSM) based on Central Composite Design (CCD) was utilized to optimize the operating parameters for the removal of % Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and % Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) from Municipal Sewage. Effect of operating parameters such as Electrode Distance (x1), Electrolysis Time (x2) and Voltage (x3) has been optimized for the removal of TSS and COD. The prediction of removal percentage of TSS and COD in various Operational circumstances is done by using Quadratic model. The significance of each operating parameter was computed by Analysis of variance (ANOVA). To achieve the maximum removal of % TSS and % COD, the optimum conditions were Electrode distance(x1)-3 cm, Electrolysis Time (x2)-70.299 minute and Voltage (x3)-6.5V. It was observed that the performance of electrocoagulation process increased up to 61.45% for COD removal, and 73.73% for TSS removal using punched electrode compared to plane electrodes.

Opis:
Face recognition is one of the applications in image processing that recognizes or checks an individual's identity. 2D images are used to identify the face, but the problem is that this kind of image is very sensitive to changes in lighting and various angles of view. The images captured by 3D camera and stereo camera can also be used for recognition, but fairly long processing times is needed. RGB-D images that Kinect produces are used as a new alternative approach to 3D images. Such cameras cost less and can be used in any situation and any environment. This paper shows the face recognition algorithms’ performance using RGB-D images. These algorithms calculate the descriptor which uses RGB and Depth map faces based on local binary pattern. Those images are also tested for the fusion of LBP and DCT methods. The fusion of LBP and DCT approach produces a recognition rate of 97.5% during the experiment

Opis:
The objective of the study described the importance of L-asparaginase and its importance in the field of medicine. Different types of enzymes are produced based on the adaptation to the environment where the living organisms live to tune the metabolic pathways according to their adapted changes. The enzymes present in various organs are produced by many cell types in multicellular organisms. Except ribosomes all other known enzymes are proteinaceous in nature. L-asparaginase is a potential therapeutic agent for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and chronic myelogenous leukemia which is approved by FDA & WHO. L-asparaginase catalyzes the deamination of L-asparagine to L-aspartic acid & ammonia. Unlike normal cells, malignant cells require large amount of L-asparagine for protein synthesis and cell division. From this background the present review is an effort to gather the information on the mechanism, sources, molecular details and application of L-asparaginase enzyme.

This study identified homogeneous rainfall regions using a combination of cluster analysis and the L-moments approach. The L-moments of heavy rainfall events of various durations (0.25, 1, 6, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96, and 120 h) were analysed using seasonal (June-September) rainfall measurements at 47 meteorological stations over the period 2006- 2016. In the primary phase of this study, the homogeneity of Mumbai as a single region was examined by statistical testing (based on L-moment ratios and variations of the L-moments). The K-means clustering approach was applied to the site characteristics to identify candidate regions. Based on the most appropriate distribution, these regions were subsequently tested using at-site statistics to form the final homogeneous regions. For durations above 1h, the regionalisation procedure delineated six clusters of similarly behaved rain gauges, where each cluster represented one separate class of variables for the rain gauges. However, for durations below 1h, the regionalisation procedure was not efficient in the sense of identifying homogeneous regions for rainfall. Furthermore, the final clusters confirmed that the spatial variation of rainfall was related to the complex topography, which comprised flatlands (below or at mean sea level), urban areas with high rise buildings, and mountainous and hilly areas.

The samples of stored seeds of pea (Pisum sativum L.) were collected from 30 farmer markets. The mycobiota analysis showed presence of 15 fungal species and one species of insect Callosobruchus chinensis. The fungi such as Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, A. ochraceous, A. terreus were found to be dominant based on percent frequency of each in blotter method in unsterilized and sterilized seeds 18.9–7.9, 15.0–3.9, 12.2–3.7, 10.1–1.7, respectively, and in agar plate technique 17.9–8.3, 15.1–9.5, 12.8–5, 7.9.7–6.7, respectively. These species showed reduction in terms of weight loss, germination and protein content in pathogenicity testing. Essential oil extracted by hydrodistillation from fruits of Cuminum cyminum L. was evaluated against the most common occurring funi such as A. flavus and A. niger as well as the insect species C. chinensis and the oil exhibited high toxicity. The oil killed the tested fungi and showed thermostable nature at its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 400 ppm. The oil safely preserved pea seeds up to 120 days at 0.50 (1,000 ppm) and 0.76 ml (1,500 ppm) in polyethylene and jute bags of 500 ml capacity containing 400 g seeds separately. There were no changes in organoleptic appereance of food seeds during storage. The oil has beneficial effect on number of visible nodule formation and shoot and root dry biomass of 15-day-old plants in comparison to control sets. The cumin oil was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

C₂ seeds of autotetraploids (colchicine-induced) of two diverse genotypes, T 163 and 5064-S, of pea (Pisum sativum L.) and their corresponding diploids were irradiated with 10 kR gamma-ray. Autotetraploids showed a high seed-sterility as compared to diploids. Seed fertility increased in M₂ as compared to M₁. Both quadrivalent and bivalent frequencies decreased in the M₁ generation of autotetraploids in relation to their respective controls. However, a positive shift in the mean bivalent formation was noted at the cost of other configurations in C₃-M₂ with respect to C₂-M₁ and varied with the genotype. In the M₂ generation of autotetraploids, the variability was relatively higher for the number of pods per plant and seed yield per plant. Although the mean values for pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and seed yield per plant remained more or less parallel in autotetraploids in M₁ and M₂ generations, there was an increase in the upper range limit probably due to micromutation for these characters in M₂.

Steganography is the approach for hiding any secret message in a variety of multimedia carriers like images, audio or video files. Whenever we are hiding a data, it is very important to make it invisible, so that it could be protected. A number of steganographic algorithms have been proposed based on this property of a steganographic system. This paper concentrates on integrating Tri way pixel value differencing approach and LSB matching revisited. The secret data embedded in images were images, text and audio signals so far. The proposed scheme has also come with the executable file as secret data. Also, the experimentation results show that, the important properties of a steganographic system such as imperceptibility, capacity of the carrier image and also resistance against the various steganalytic tools have also been achieved with this stego-system.

The South-Western highlands of Ethiopia are considered to be the centre of origin and diversity of the arabica coffee, Coffea arabica. More than 80 accessions of arabica coffee collected from Ethiopia are avail-able in Indian gene bank. However, the genetic diversity of these accessions is not studied in detail. In the present study, genetic diversity analysis of 48 accessions collected from eight provinces of Ethiopia was car-ried out using Sequence-related amplified Polymorphism (SRAP) marker. Among the thirty two SRAP primer combinations tested, 14 primer pairs were polymorphic and generated 203 distinct fragments. The number of fragments ranged from 7 to 21 with a mean of 14.5 fragments per primer combination. Of the total 203 ampli-fied fragments, 182 (89.65%) were polymorphic and the percent of polymorphism ranged from 53.84% to a maximum of 100% using different primers. The average resolving power (Rp) and average polymorphism information content (PIC) of the 14 SRAP primer combinations was 14.31 and 0.648 respectively. A total of 13 rare alleles were obtained from SRAP assays, of which six rare alleles were obtained from the accessions collected from Shoa province. The UPGMA clustering algorithm from SRAP analysis grouped the 48 coffee accessions into two major clusters. The accessions collected from particular province clustered together which could be attributed to the substantial gene flow between adjacent population and the influence of geographical origin on genetic diver-sity. The study demonstrated the existence of substantial genetic variation in Ethiopian germplasm which could be utilized in coffee germplasm conservation and improvement program.

The present review deals with parameters influencing the rice breakage during rice milling operations and the effect of rubber roll Sheller in rice husk removal process. The main objective of rice milling system is to remove the husk and bran layer to produce the white rice. In this process, rubber roll sheller is used to remove husk from the grains by friction process. If the rubber material is too soft, there may not be sufficient shear force to husk the paddy. Wear will be minimum for rubber material with high hardness but indeed it pronounce the breakage of rice. Hence, for efficient husking the rubber roll material should possess the balance of physico-mechanical properties. Rice breakage depends on several other parameters like the type of harvest, drying temperature, drying methods, physical characteristics of paddy, husking characteristics, paddy moisture content, rubber roller speed, rubber roll pressure, paddy feed rate and fissures. Rubber roll wear depends on the type of rubber material attached to the roller, feed rate, roller speed, pressure etc.

The vibration characteristics of stiffened plates with cutouts subjected to in-plane partial edge loadings at one end at the plate boundaries are studied using the finite element method. Buckling loads and vibration frequencies are determined for different cutout ratios and extent of partial edge loading at one end. In the structural modelling, the plate and the stiffeners are treated as separate elements where the compatibility between these two types of elements is maintained. The main elegance of the formulation lies in the treatment of the stiffeners. The stiffeners can be placed anywhere within the plate element, and need not be placed on the nodal lines. The vibration characteristics are discussed and the results are compared with those available in the literature. Numerical results are presented for a range of cutout to plate size from 0 to 0.8.
