    The paper discusses some affinities between early works of Karol Wojtyła and writings by Cyprian Norwid), focusing on the poetic language and ways of text shaping. The impact of Norwid on the poet-pope concerns, among others: 1. the dictionary, particularly the key-word repertoire; 2. tendency to language experiments, 3. word-formation; 4. the importance of silence; 5. the role of multi-faceted dialogue. Both writers are also deeply connected by the idea that poetic means can lead to discover the Logos, and therefore they are tools of finding the truth.

    The article is the result of the review of the literature concerning advertising, persuasion, social influence, etc. A hero is someone reliable that can be trusted and/or who has knowledge on the subject. In conclusion the text presents methods in which that kind of character is used in advertisements. An average consumer who knows the product from his personal experience is more oft en a main character of an ad than a professional who is highly knowledgeable because of his training and work. Ads usually present an emotional woman as an average consumer and rational man as an expert with knowledge and experience backed with affiliation with scientific institutions and association.

    Opis:
    A global market necessitates including the evolution of consumer awareness  and the growing importance of consumers in marketing activities. This process  including utilizing existing instruments of marketing communication along with  a new look at consumer motivations (and at information about products). Among  the major changes in consumer attitudes and behavior worldwide are the following  phenomena: more negative attitudes toward advertising, increasing consumer  attention to ethical aspects of business, greater environmental awareness, and  growing consumer product expectations. Th e study shows a close relationship  between social and technological changes. New information technology provides  new opportunities for contact with consumers and between consumers.  It is expected that the current traditional model of communication with the  market, based on information derived from opinion leaders (from athletes, experts,  celebrities), in the interactive communication model will be lead to horizontal  influence derived from individual consumers. Consumers become not only active  seekers of market information, but also creators and relayers of this information  rather than defenseless recipients. Furthermore the responsible consumer is a person  who not only knows his or her rights, but also supports a particular producer  through purchases. Access to information about companies (and their products)  through new media (mobile, internet) allows the consumer to control activities  of commercial organizations (particularly multinational corporations) without  geographic limitations.  Not so long ago, the most important goal was to provide products conveniently  to consumers at an attractive price. Now it seems that brand imaging is increasingly  created by consumers themselves, who in turn create brand history among  themselves. New patterns of consumer behavior give rise to new marketing (and  communication) strategies. Of course, many consumers do passively participate  in the process of marketing communication. However, we must assume that this  new generation of responsible consumers determines a clear direction of changes  in business -consumer relationships.

    The paper shows the world of the elderly through the eyes of the creators' advertising messages. The author assumes that advertising leads to the formation, strengthen and reinforce the stereotypical thinking about social groups and roles. Advertising as mass communication at the moment is treated as an extension of the socialization process, aligning and strengthening the existing cultural patterns. The results of qualitative researches go beyond the current approach to the image of older people in advertising. Exploratory analysis were subjected to advertising messages, in which the woman's age has been an important promotional message. It is assumed that the age is a matter of particular importance from the point of view of shaping the identity of the conteporary woman. It's important that image of elderly people in advertising is associated not only with its perception by the individual, but also by others. Advertising has great interest and willingness to reflect on the natural process of human aging. This mass message displays, which is characteristic of a particular sex, as falls do in a given age, as one should look at the situation. Characteristics and behaviors ascribed to a particular sex or age, in@uence, either positive or negative response to a person, both by themselves and by the others. Certain image of the elderly has an impact on our level of optimism, mood and actions of people of all ages.

    The text is about the issue theme of socio-economic activity of women in the text analyzes the issue theme of socio-economic activity of women in the Polish magazine “Twój Styl”. The analysis leads to the conclusion that the image of modern woman is a bit fuzzy. Typical woman is torn between the private and public sphere and forced (through social practices and effective gender stereotypes) into an attempt at the collision-free fulfillment of the social roles. The prevailing stereotype that woman are limited to the private sphere is the one of the causes of female disadvantage on the labor market. At the same time that stereotype creates an impression that woman in the public sphere is a rarity and if she’s ever managed to enter it, it was only possible thanks to the support of her male partner or by limiting her personal life.

    Restauracje oraz inne obiekty świadczące usługi gastronomiczne stanowią istotną część hoteli, mogą być ich wizytówką lub decydować o ich niepowtarzalności. Zgodnie z Rozporządzeniem Ministra Gospodarki i Pracy z dnia 19 sierpnia 2004 r. w sprawie obiektów hotelarskich i innych obiektów, w których są świadczone usługi hotelarskie gestorzy mają obowiązek świadczenia usług gastronomicznych w hotelu. Jednak mimo dynamicznego rozwoju gastronomii w XXI w. prowadzenie obiektów znajdujących się w hotelach jest często dla gestorów obowiązkiem, a nie źródłem dodatkowego dochodu. W niniejszym artykule został zaprezentowany produkt gastronomiczny w łódzkich hotelach, rozumiany jako wszystkie usługi w hotelu związane z gastronomią. Analiza została przeprowadzona pod kątem marki obiektów, oferty związanej z lokalną kuchnią oraz dostępności gastronomii hotelowej dla potencjalnych gości. Ponadto wyróżniono czynniki, które mogą ułatwić dostęp do gastronomii hotelowej, przełamując jej stereotyp jako uznawanej za dostępną tylko dla osób korzystających z noclegu, oraz przedstawiono zalety dobrego wykorzystania możliwości produktu gastronomicznego hotelu.

    Restaurants and other facilities providing catering services are an important part of hotels, can be their flagship product or make them unique. The obligation to provide restaurant services was imposed by the Ordinance of the Minister of Economy and Labour of 19th August 2004, concerning hotel and other facilities where hotel services are provided. Despite the dynamic development of gastronomy in the 21st century, running catering facilities in hotels is often an obligation which does not bring additional income. The aim of the research is to present the gastronomic product in Lodz hotels, understood as all the services related to gastronomy that are provided. The analysis was conducted with respect to the brand of the facilities, references to local cuisine and the availability of hotel gastronomy to potential guests. The work also presents factors that may facilitate access to hotel gastronomy, breaking the stereotype of ‘available only for hotel guests’, as well as the advantages of using the hotel's gastronomic product in a proper way.

    the aim of the article is to develop a new conceptual framework for examining the role of advertising in forming consumer attitudes. The author assumes that consumer attitudes mediate the process of making the decision to purchase a product. Existing advertising models are not sufficient for understanding the impact of advertising on a consumer. The identification of factors mediating in this interaction, such as the level of commitment to purchase (High-Mid-Low), the motive of purchase (cognitive-emotional) allow for the identification of at least nine different advertising strategies. The author presents her own concept of how advertising builds interest in the product mediating conceptual approach to the creation of the product, possibly contributing to the experience of the test (e.g. test drive car) and, consequently inducing the purchasing decision. It also shows that, depending on the product category, an ad after purchase (and experience with the product) reinforces the sense of fairness and the selection of the product and/or reminds of the existence of the brand on the market. The informative advertising (1) is for products that generate a high level of risk purchasing: such as white goods (refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers), expensive electronic appliances (microwave ovens) and financial services (loans, mortgages, investment policies). Advertising should first of all make a demonstration of the basic features of the product. In case of advertising reducing the risk of purchasing (2), referring to such products as cars and some financial services, advertising will be primarily urged to trial experience or argued that the purchasing process is easy, simple and enjoyable. Advertising reducing emotional distortion (3) will highlight the fact that the purchase of a luxury version of the product (eg. clothing or cosmetics) offers greater guarantees to meet the needs (in line with the higher price − higher quality). At the same time advertising should emphasize the emotional reasons to purchase. It is different in case of the ad reducing information overload (4), where brand appeal should be built either by brand awareness (due to increased exposure) or by highlighting the specific attributes of this brand. Advertising building repeated behavior (5), relies primarily on the rational benefits, but providing specific knowledge about these products is not necessary in this case. In advertising building the routine behavior (6), and referring to such products as water, food, everyday use cosmetics, emotional charge quality, health, as well as a striking impression emotional arguments, such as shiny hair are more important. In case of advertising building the impulse behavior (7), it is vital to pay attention to the information about the possible immediate satisfaction from the use of the product.     The article discusses the manners of implementing the bank tax in the selected EU countries and analyses the changes concerning the financial resilience of banks and the level of risk incurred by them. The research conducted is to verify the thesis whether a significant change of the financial condition of the banking sector has occurred after introduction of the bank tax in the EU countries. The study covered the financial resilience, understood as the ability of the banks to absorb the loses and the level of risk of the bank’s exposure.
    W artykule zostały omówione sposoby wdrażania podatku bankowego w wybranych krajach UE oraz dokonana analiza zmian dotyczących odporności finansowej banków i poziomu ryzyka przez nie ponoszonego. Przeprowadzone badanie ma na celu weryfikację tezy, czy po wprowadzeniu podatku bankowego w krajach UE nastąpiła istotna zmiana kondycji finansowej sektora bankowego. Badanie dotyczyło odporności finansowej, rozumianej jako zdolność banków do absorbowania strat oraz poziomu ryzyka ekspozycji banku.

    Topikalizacja, rozumiana jako uwydatnienie tematu wypowiedzenia, ma w twórczości Cypriana Norwida rozmaite wykładniki syntaktyczne, leksykalne i graficzne – te ostatnie, specyficzne dla wypowiedzi autora Vade-mecum, stanowią swoisty ekwiwalent suprasegmentalnych wykładników struktury tematyczno-rematycznej w tekście pisanym. Omawiana operacja wprowadza do wypowiedzi ukryty kontrast, wskazując, że mowa w niej właśnie o X, a nie o jakimkolwiek innym możliwym do pomyślenia temacie ani też nie o obiekcie, który można by wybrać z jakiejś sygnalizowanej wcześniej klasy. Towarzyszy jej następująca intencja: ‘mówię o X, a nie o Y, Z... itp.’. Zaciera ona wyrazistość podziału na część tematyczną i rematyczną i tym samym wpisuje się w charakterystyczną dla Norwida strategię mówienia, w której zarówno główny temat, jak i remat wypowiedzenia wydają się równie ważne.
    Topicalization, understood as highlighting the topic of an utterance, has different syntactic, lexical, and punctuational exponents. Punctuational exponents are specific to Norwid, constituting a peculiar equivalent of suprasegmental exponents of the thematic-thematic structure in a written text. The discussed operation introduces a hidden contrast, indicating that the topic of an utterance is X rather than any other conceivable topic, or an object which could be selected from a previously signaled class. This is accompanied by the following intention: ‘I am talking about X, not about Y, Z… etc.’, This blurs the clear distinction into the thematic and rhematic part, and hence represents Norwid’s characteristic strategy of speaking, in which the main topic and rhemat seem equally important.

    The article attempts to portray transformations of the research on the idiolect in Polish linguistic studies of the last two centuries. In this research some distinct tendencies can be observed: inscreasing number of works devoted to different idiolects, widening circle of described individuals, as well as new theoretical approaches to the problem, closely related to main paradigms of contemporary linguistics: above all the concept of the idiolect as an individual communication competence or as a structure containing the individual worldview. The evolution of understanding the idiolect is still involving new phenomena considered as idiolect components into the field of research. Some linguistic currents regard the idiolect as more primal than the common language, which is treated as the overlap of many idiolects. Because of all these the research on idiolects are clearly put forward from margins of linguistics towards its centre. It seems there are new currents and linguistic disciplines that influence discovering the value of the idiolect as an object of linguistics. Focusing on the idiolect results also from tendencies present in other disciplines as well as from the individualistic aspect of the contemporary culture.

    The paper discusses the ethical concept of the literary communication seen from the linguistic point of view. It attempts to identify assumptions that are necessary to validate the ethical assessment of the literary communication and that constitute theoretical fundamentals of this concept. Some ethical rules for an author, a recipient and other persons involved in the literary communication have been also proposed in the article.

    Opis:
    The article is a critical discussion of Arent van Nieukerken's work entitled The perspective character of the sacrum. Sketches about Norwid's Romanticism (Warszawa 2007). The work tries to reconstruct and describe the structure of the human experience of transcendence, the experience which, according to van Nieukerken, the author of Vade-mecum often makes the subject of his work. In this way the book introduces into Norwidology the category of “perspectiveness” understood both as a feature of man's existence, and as an idea regulating human cognition. The first three chapters of the work are devoted to the study of this category in Norwid's writings (in Quidam, Assunta and other poems), and the last two ones mainly discuss determinants of “the feeling of the world” in selected representatives of Polish Romanticism, and against this background they show how original the author of Promethidion was.

    Artykuł omawia główne cechy języka i stylu Norwida, odwołując się do zaproponowanej przez samego poetę kategorii „ponadgramatyczności”. Została ona potraktowana jako kategoria opisowa, uwydatniająca i porządkująca przede wszystkim (choć nie tylko) właściwości Norwidowej składni. Przymiotnik ponadgramatyczny może być rozumiany na trzy sposoby: 1. ʻniezgodny z regułami poprawnościowymiʼ; 2. ʻodbiegający od zwyczajów językowych; niekonwencjonalnyʼ; 3. ʻpochodzący z innego poziomu języka niż poziom gramatycznyʼ. W twórczości Norwida można odnaleźć przejawy ponadgramatyczności w każdym ze wskazanych wyżej sensów. Wśród konstrukcji naruszających normę językową omówione zostały anakoluty, struktury homonimiczne, niejasności dotyczące funkcji elementów anaforycznych oraz zakłócenia spójności. Do elementów niekonwencjonalnych, odbiegających od zwyczajów epoki, należą m.in.: innowacje w zakresie łączliwości, komplikacje struktury składniowej, wielość wtrąceń nawiasowych oraz stosowanie konstrukcji archaicznych. W tekstach Norwida szczególnie istotne są nie tylko mechanizmy właściwe składniowej, czyli gramatycznej płaszczyźnie wypowiedzenie, lecz także zjawiska obecne na innych jego poziomach, takie jak metatekst i struktura tematyczno-rematyczna.
    The article discusses major characteristics of Norwid’s language and style in light of the concept of “hyper-grammaticality” [po-nad-gramatyczność] developed by the poet himself. Considered as a descriptive category, it organizes and foregrounds certain properties of his syntax as well as other elements. The adjective “hyper-grammatical” can be understood in three ways: 1. failing to comply with rules; 2. departing from linguistic convention; hence unconventional; 3. derived from a different level of language than grammar.Norwid’s works can be shown to display hyper-grammaticality in all of the above senses. Discussion of constructions that violate linguistic norms accounts for the following: anacoluthon,homonymic structures, obscurities related to functions of anaphoric elements, and disruptions of coherence. Unconventional elements departing from the epoch’s standards include, among other things, innovations in collocability, complications of syntax, numerous parenthetical remarks, and the usage of archaic constructions. In Norwid’s texts an important place is held not only by mechanisms proper to syntactical or grammatical level of enunciation, but also by phenomena present on other levels:meta-textualityandthematic-rhematic structure.

    The paper seeks to describe the image of the Holy Spirit in the writings of Cyprian Norwid. The description has been based principally on the analysis of Norwidian names of the Holy Spirit and their uses. In Norwid’s texts thatere four description of the Third Person of God (the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of History-Paraclete, and the Comforter), altogether 89 contexts. The Third Person of the Trinity is at the same time the Divine Person most rarely referred to by the author of the Vade-mecum. The Holy Spirit, revealed in secret, hidden under His manifestations, plays an important role in Norwid’s vision of reality. He is the maker of human fellowships, guardian of history, foundation of man’s improvement, giver of moral attributes, such as valour, love, and obedience, guarantor and pattern of freedom that ensures unification with God’s plans. He is also the agent of any activity and creative action.

    Opis:
    The article shows that in the centre of Norwid’s reflection on the January Uprising there was the problem of the word. It was just around the issue of the word that in fact all motifs concentrated that were significant for Norwid’s thought about the Uprising; the issue was a peculiar axis concentrating the poet’s views and deeds of that period The word, to which Norwid so often referred, was not a poetic word. Norwid’s attention during the Uprising was focused on writing on political and social subjects, and especially on establishing a journal that would compensate for deficiencies of the press of that time that the poet regarded as being on a very low level. The planned newspaper’s first function was to provide the reader with reliable and impartial information, that – according to Norwid – is an ethical instrument; it leads to the truth, and ultimately to minimizing the need to shed blood. The newspaper’s propaganda role seemed to be the most distinctive aim. The impressive, persuasive dimension of influencing the reader by the word was not, however, in the poet’s interpretation limited to “conducting the readers’ opinions”, or sometimes even leading foreign recipients. The planned journal was to influence Russia in a special way. The fundamental aim, for which – in Norwid’s opinion – acts should be performed, acts which consisted in using the word, was connected with the issue of work and with the necessity to build a new Polish consciousness – or indeed, with restructuring the consciousness in such a way that the real place of Poland and Poles in Europe could be considered. The thesis about the need of “the work of thought” was closely connected with important motifs in Norwid’s thought: the integral concept of the man and of the nation, with the conviction about the key role of intelligence, and with the issue of “earliness” and recognition of kairos.

    Celem artykułu jest uchwycenie najważniejszych cech charakteryzujących definicje poetyckie Karola Wojtyły. Definicja poetycka jest rozumiana jako typ metaforycznej (czasami metonimicznej) struktury złożonej z dwóch elementów: definiensa i definiendum. Oba elementy są połączone relacją identyczności (X=Y), gdzie wyrażenie Y wskazuje na określone cechy wyróżniające obiektu nazwanego przez X; w ten sposób Y wyjaśnia znaczenie X-a. Równie ważne jest to, że X powinien zajmować pozycję tematu wypowiedzi, a Y komentarza, objaśnienia.Definicje poetyckie mogą realizować kilka różnych wzorców strukturalnych. W pracach literackichKarola Wojtyły są to:• X jest Y-iem; X to Y;• X znaczy Y; X-em nazwijmy Y;• relatywizujące wyrażenia X jest Y-iem dla kogoś;• konstrukcje wprowadzające wyjaśnienie w modalności warunku lub przypuszczenia: jeśliX jest Y-iem; X może być Y-iem,• apozycje X : Y; X – Y; X… Y; X Y,• konstrukcje włączne: X, czyli Y,• konstrukcje z negacją: X nie jest Y-iem,• pytania retoryczne typu Czy X jest Y-iem?; Czy X znaczy Y?W poezji i dramatach Karola Wojtyły można znaleźć blisko 200 przykładów definicji poetyckich realizujących wskazane powyżej schematy. Karol Wojtyła zazwyczaj definiował kluczowe pojęcia dla swojej poezji, które uważał za niewystarczająco lub niepoprawnie opisane. Najczęściej pojawiające się definienda to: 1. Bóg; 2. ludzkie uczucia, postawy i doświadczenia; 3. instytucje, praktyki, symbole i wydarzenia bezpośrednio związane z tradycją judaizmu bądź chrześcijaństwa; 4. czynności, stany i cechy związane z relacjami;5. kategorie czasowe – etapy i momenty w czasie; 6. zjawiska atmosferyczne, ciała niebieskie i żywioły;7. przymioty, cechy i zdolności człowieka; 8. zjawiska i byty z zakresu sztuki; 9. czynności i stany związane z percepcją i poznaniem; 10. rośliny i zwierzęta; 11. inne kategorie.Definicje Wojtyły często powielają metafory obecne w polszczyźnie, jednak jego dzieła przedstawiają także wiele definicji ukazujących niezwykle oryginalną konceptualizację. Liczne wyrażenia ujmują obiekty świata natury w kategoriach kultury i ogólnie mówiąc rzeczywistości. Kluczowe domeny wykorzystywane w definicjach to przestrzeń i woda. Charakterystycznymi cechami Wojtyłowych definicji są także: paradoks oraz treściowy związek z chrześcijaństwem. Definicje poetyckie winny być uważane za ważne narzędzie poznawcze. Pełnią one również inne funkcje (zgodnie z terminologią Romana Jakobsona): konatywną, metajęzykową, poetycką, fatyczną i ekspresywną, a także – jak pokazały ważne pojęcia wykorzystywane przez Wojtyłę – są sposobem rozumienia roli języka i wyrazem stosunku do niego.
    The main goal of the article is to grasp the key features characterizing the poetic definitions of Karol Wojtyła. A poetic definition is considered as a type of metaphorical (sometimes metonymic) structure composed of two elements: definiens and definiendum. Both elements are connected by the relation (X=Y), where Y points at certain distinctive features of the object X; in this way Y explains the meaning of X. Equally importantly, X takes the place of the topic of the utterance, and Y becomes the comment.Poetic definitions can realize various structural models. In the literary work of Karol Wojtyła the following ones appear :• X is Y; X it is Y;• X means Y; let us name Y X;• relativizing expression: for somebody X is Y;• structure entailing a condition or probability: if X is Y; X can be Y;• apposition: X: Y; X – Y; X… Y; X Y;• X, that is Y;• model, with the negation: X is not Y (with the optional addition: X is Z);• rhetorical question: is X Y? does X mean Y?In Karol Wojtyła’s poems and dramas one can find nearly 200 examples of poetic definitions of the types listed above.Karol Wojtyła defined the notions crucial for his poetry which he regarded as described insufficiently or incorrectly. The most often appearing definienda are: 1. God; 2. human feelings, attitudes and experiences; 3. institutions, customs, symbols and events connected with the Jewish or Christian traditions; 4. activities, states and features referring to relationships; 5. stages and moments in time; 6. atmospheric phenomena, heavenly bodies and elements; 7. attributes, features and abilities of man; 8. phenomena and objects from art; 9. activities and states associated with perception and cognition; 10. plants and animals; 11. other categories. Wojtyła’s definitions often copy metaphors that have been fixed in the Polish language; however, his artistic work brings also many definitions manifesting a very original conceptualization. Numerous expressions describe objects from the real world described in terms of culture and reality in general. Crucial domains used in the definitions are those of space and water. Distinctive features of Wojtyła’s definitions also include paradox and connections with Christianity. Poetic definitions should be considered an important cognitive tool. They also perform other functions (in line with Roman Jakobson’s terminology): conative, metalinguistic, poetic, phatic and expressive, as well as showing Wojtyła’s key concepts, the way he understands them and his attitude towards language.

    Artykuł wskazuje na główne problemy wiążące się z interpretacją wybranych wypowiedzeń z Vade-mecum oraz proponuje nową formułę opisu praktyki zdaniotwórczej Norwida. Przyjęcie założenia, że właściwym przedmiotem analizy nie są abstrakcyjne struktury składniowe, ale empiryczne, użyte i zaktualizowane wypowiedzenia, pociąga za sobą konieczność uwzględnienia ich wielowarstwowości i poziomów innych niż składniowy, zwłaszcza struktury tematyczno-rematycznej i metatekstu. Jak pokazują zaprezentowane analizy, wzięcie pod uwagę tych elementów pozwala z powodzeniem rozstrzygać niektóre dylematy interpretacyjne. Proponowane poszerzenie perspektywy oglądu umożliwia również uchwycenie cech, które współtworzą specyfikę Norwidowej „składni”, uruchamiającej i wykorzystującej różne poziomy wypowiedzenia.
    This article indicates key problems related to the interpretation of selected enunciations in Vade- mecum,and develops a new formula for describing Norwid’s syntactic strategies. The assumption that the subject of analysis is not comprised by abstract syntactic structures but empirical, used and actualized enunciations entails the necessity to acknowledge their multi-layered character and the import of other levels than that of syntax, especially thematic-rhematic structure and metatext. As presented analyses show, taking these aspects into account helps to successfully settle certain interpretative dilemmas. The proposed expansion of perspective also allows one to grasp certain features that contribute to the specificity of Norwid’s syntax, which mobilizes and utilizes various levels of enunciation.

    The article discusses the main types of obsolete syntactic structures that are present in Cyprian Norwid's writings: a lack of identity of the agent of a participle elliptical sentence and of a super-ordinate clause (in this case the archaic character is only one of hypotheses explaining Norwid's practice of building sentences); non-agent constructions with verbs containing się (reflexive verbs) fulfilling the function of predicate connected with the nominative case by the relation of concord; harmonizing relations of quantity ad sensum; gender discordances in a sentence's main relation; a nominal predicative word in the nominative case; the presence of the accusativus cum infinitive construction; numerous peculiarities of the rection (especially the predilection for synthetic constructions) and the use of old functions of grammatical cases; obsolete conjunctions, personal forms of the predicate in clauses of purpose and other subordinate utterances starting with the conjunctions by, aby, żeby, ażeby, iżby, byle. The feature that connects Norwid's language with the old Polish language is also the multitude of component utterances in a compound sentence that is accompanied by a relatively loose connection between syntactic elements. Some of Norwid's uses of obsolete constructions result from an intentional stylization that is first of all supposed to lead to obtaining a certain hieratical character of the text; however, most old forms show the peculiar character of the idiolect typical of the author of Vade-mecum himself; he used archaic structures probably under the influence of his readings, of foreign languages and regional variants of Polish, because of the rhythm of the text, and sometimes also because of his own carelessness, or even his lack of proper abilities to build sentences.

    Opis:
    This paper discusses how the semantic potential of derived lexical items is employed by Karol Wojtyla in his artistic writings. In most cases, the poet experimented with word formation patterns in order to emphasize the formal and semantic dichotomies in the derivates he introduced. However, his works also contain a considerable number of modifications in the semantics of the existing, motivated lexemes. To signal semantic operations on complex words, Wojtyła uses dashes as well as changes in the semantic requirements of the derived lexical items and their lexical context. Used in Wojtyła’s works, these methods result in: bringing up-to-date the lexical (and etymological) meaning of lexicalized items modification of the whole complex word through semantic alterations concerning its constituent parts introducing a paradigmatic semantic relationship between complex words that display formal resemblance textual ambiguity caused by introducing derived homonyms.

    Artykuł omawia te elementy fonetyki Cypriana Norwida, które udało się zrekonstruować na podstawie graficznych cech jego rękopisów, a także na podstawie informacji o życiorysie językowym poety, przede wszystkim o czasie jego życia oraz mazowieckim pochodzeniu. Na wymowę Norwida składały się prawdopodobnie następujące cechy charakterystyczne dla polszczyzny XIX wieku: obecność samogłosek pochylonych é i ó, synchroniczna wymowa i inna niż dziś dystrybucja nosówek, przedniojęzykowa artykulacja ł, dźwięczność h, synchroniczna realizacja spółgłosek zmiękczonych wargowych, brak wyrównania dźwięczności w grupach typu kw, sw, św, cw, ćw, tw, chw oraz szerszy od współczesnego zakres proparoksytonezy. Do obecnych w idiolekcie Norwida mazowizmów brzmieniowych należały natomiast: formy bez przegłosu, stosowanie połączeń kie, gie w miejsce ogólnopolskich ke, ge oraz ubezdźwięczniająca fonetyka międzywyrazowa. Z kolei z wpływami kresowymi można powiązać częstsze niż w polszczyźnie ogólnej stosowanie o zamiast ó, jak również zastępowanie spółgłosek twardych miękkimi. Zaprezentowany obraz tworzą własności, które autor Vade-mecum dzielił z innymi użytkownikami polszczyzny swojego czasu i środowiska. O ściśle indywidualnych cechach jego wymowy, a także o charakterystycznych dla niego zachowaniach parajęzykowych można wnioskować jedynie pośrednio, odwołując się do relacji osób, które miały z nim kontakt. Z przeglądu takich świadectw wyłania się wizerunek rozmówcy obdarzonego pięknym tembrem głosu, posługującego się wyrazistą intonacją i gestami trafnie zespolonym z wypowiedzią.
    This article discusses those elements of Cyprian Norwid’s pronunciation that could be reconstructed on the basis of the graphic features of his manuscripts, as well as on the basis of information about the poet’s linguistic biography, especially about the period of his lifetime and his Masovian origin. Norwid’s pronunciation probably had the following features characteristic of 19th-century Polish: the presence of the raised vowels é and ó, the synchronic pronunciation and different distribution of nasal sounds than today, the fronting of ł, the sonority of h, the synchronic realisation of palatalised labial consonants, the lack of alignment of sonority in clusters such as kw, sw, św, cw, ćw, tw, chw, and a wider distribution of proparoxytone stress than today. On the other hand, the Masovian influences in Norwid’s idiolect included: forms without apophony, the use of kie, gie in place of standard Polish ke, ge, and devoicing at the word boundaries. Furthermore, the Eastern Borderlands influence can be attributed to the more frequent use of o instead of ó, as well as the replacement of hard consonants with soft time, living in that environment. Strictly individual features of his pronunciation as well as para-linguistic behaviour characteristic of him can only be inferred indirectly by referring to the accounts of people who had contact with him. From a review of such testimonies, an image emerges of an interlocutor endowed with a beautiful timbre of voice, using expressive intonation and gestures aptly combined with speech.

    The announcement of John of Bytom’s sermon and dispute to be held in the Church of St. Benedict at the Lasota Hill in the Podgórze district of Kraków, found in the manuscript no. 707 from the collections of Jagiellonian Library, reveals an important fact that this church was used by the collegiates of the Kraków University during 1430s.

    W niniejszym artykule dokonano analizy czynników wzrostu akcji kredytowej banków działających w Polsce w latach 1995–2014, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem typu własności (banki państwowe, banki będące własnością kapitału zagranicznego, banki będące własnością kapitału krajowego prywatnego), jak również okresu przed i po wystąpieniu globalnego kryzysu finansowego. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że wiodącymi determinantami wzrostu akcji kredytowej były koniunktura gospodarcza (mierzona zmianą PKB) oraz wzrost kapitałów własnych banków. Zidentyfikowano różnice w zestawie czynników wpływających na wzrost akcji kredytowej banków o różnym typie własności, a także dla obu wyodrębnionych podokresów.
    This paper analyses the factors determining banks credit growth in Poland from 1995 to 2014, with special attention paid to the ownership structure of banks (state-owned, foreign-owned, domestic-private owned) and the impact of the global financial crisis. It has been found that the leading determinants of the credit growth are overall economic situation (measured by GDP growth) and banks equity capital growth. Certain differences in factors determining banks credit growth for different types of ownership and for two sub-periods were indicated.

    W pracy zaprezentowano rezultaty badania, którego celem było określenie wpływu BIZ na wahania koniunkturalne w Polsce w okresie 1 kw. 2000 r. – 1 kw. 2014 r. W badaniu uwzględniono oba kierunki przepływu zagregowanych strumieni BIZ (inward i outward) oraz ich komponentów (kapitałów własnych i transakcji kapitałowych). Rezultaty analiz potwierdziły statystycznie istotną rolę BIZ w kształtowaniu zmian wskaźnika cyklicznego, wskazując na kluczowe znaczenie w tym procesie transakcji kapitałowych, które w zależności od kategorii przepływów BIZ: inward vs outward odpowiednio destabilizowały bądź stabilizowały koniunkturę gospodarczą. Outward BIZ mogą być widziane jako „zabezpieczenie” gospodarki przed skutkami szoków zewnętrznych przenoszonych przez inward BIZ.
    The paper presents the results of the empirical analysis, the aim of which was to determine the impact of FDI on business cycle in Poland for the period from the first quarter 2000 to the first quarter 2014. The study included both directions of aggregate flows of FDI (inward and outward) and their components (equity capital and capital transactions). The results of the analysis confirmed a statistically significant role of FDI in explaining business cycle, indicating a key role of capital transactions in this process. Capital transactions, depending on the category of FDI flows: inward vs. outward, respectively destabilized or stabilized the economic situation. Outward FDI can be seen as an “insurance” for the economy from the effects of external shocks transmitted through inward FDI.

    W artykule zaprezentowano rezultaty badania, którego celem było określenie roli kreatywnej destrukcji w kształtowaniu wahań koniunkturalnych w państwach UE w okresie 1 kw. 2000 r. – 1 kw. 2014 r. Badanie wykazało, że procesy kreatywnej destrukcji istotnie determinowały wartość wskaźnika cyklu koniunkturalnego, przy czym oddziaływanie kreacji nie było charakterystyczne jedynie dla okresów poprawy koniunktury, a wpływ destrukcji nie był domeną wyłącznie okresów jej pogorszenia. Każdy z komponentów kreatywnej destrukcji, w zależności od fazy cyklu, pełnił rolę stabilizatora lub destabilizatora gospodarki, co można uznać za przejaw podkreślanego przez Schumpetera dualizmu skutków innowacji.
    The article presents the results of the study, the aim of which was to determine the role of creative destruction in the shaping of economic fluctuations in the EU during the period of 1st quarter 2000 – 1st quarter 2014. Our analysis revealed that the processes of creative destruction significantly determined the value of the business cycle indicator. The impact of creation was not characteristic only for the periods of economic recovery and the influence of destruction was not exclusive to periods of stagnation. Each of the components of creative destruction, depending on the phase of the cycle, acted as a stabilizer or a destabilizer of an economy. This can be considered as a manifestation of the dual effects of innovations emphasized by Schumpeter.

    Cel – Celem rozważań jest analiza zmian produktywności pracy w warunkach pandemii COVID-19 w kontekście Schumpeterowskiej koncepcji kreatywnej destrukcji i prac ekonomistów dotyczących roli innowacji i selekcji rynkowej w okresach kryzysów gospodarczych. Metoda badania – W teoretycznej części artykułu zastosowano metodę dedukcji. W warstwie empirycznej wykorzystano metody ekonometryczne (modele AR, ARDL) oraz metodę ewometrii. Wyniki – Zmiany produktywności pracy w okresie pandemii COVID-19 w gospodarce pozbawionej innowacji adaptacyjnych podlegałyby mechanizmom prostej destrukcji, prowadząc w długim okresie do jej stagnacji. Oryginalność/wartość/implikacje/rekomendacje – Koncepcja destrukcji kreatywnej tworzy alternatywne ramy teoretyczne dla interpretacji zmian produktywności obserwowanych w okresie pandemii COVID-19, otwierając obiecujący kierunek badań nad zachowaniem systemów gospodarczych w warunkach anormalnych. Zgodnie z zaproponowaną koncepcją interwencjonizm państwowy mający na celu ograniczenie rozprzestrzeniania się wirusa SARS-CoV-2 (lockdown) uruchamia innowacyjne działania dostosowawcze podmiotów, prowadzące do przekształcenia procesów typowych dla destrukcji prostej w destrukcję kreatywną. W kontekście koncepcji destrukcji kreatywnej warunkiem koniecznym zainicjowania pokryzysowego wzrostu jest polityka promowania innowacji już w trakcie kryzysu COVID-19, warunkiem wystarczającym natomiast jest oparcie pomocy państwa na kryterium powiązanym z efektywnością.
    Purpose – The aim of the article is to analyse changes in labour productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of Schumpeter’s concept of creative destruction and the work of economists on the role of innovation and market selection during economic crises. Research method – In the theoretical part of the article the method of deduction was used. In the empirical layer, econometric methods (AR, ARDL models) and the evometrics were used. Results – Changes in labour productivity during the COVID-19 pandemic in an economy devoid of adaptive innovations would be subject to mechanisms of simple destruction, leading to its stagnation in the long run. Originality /value /implications /recommendations – The concept of “destruction which brings creation” provides an alternative theoretical framework for interpreting the productivity changes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opening up a promising avenue for studying the behaviour of economic systems in abnormal conditions. According to our concept, state intervention aimed at limiting the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (lockdown) triggers innovative adaptation activities of entities leading to the transformation of processes typical for simple destruction into destruction which brings creation. In the context of our concept, a policy of promoting innovation already during the COVID-19 crisis is a necessary condition, and the inclusion of the efficiency criterion in state aid is a sufficient condition for initiating post-crisis growth.

    Biofiltration is the biological degradation of gaseous pollutants and is one methods of deodorizing disruptive malodorous gases. Micro-organisms play a central role in this process. As a result of their work, non-toxic compounds are produced. Biofiltration belongs to the methods that are low to non-waste producing. This is an alternative to classical methods used so far. The research on the improvement of process parameters and increasing its efficiency is being carried out. The applied solutions referred to above still constitute unresolved problem and for this reason are seldom used. This article presents a mechanism for biofiltration of odorous gases. The article is devoted to the mechanism of malodorous gases biofiltration on the basis of a study carried out on the half-scale support.

    The goal of the paper is a presentation of field remote sensing methods for the analysis of the trampled plants of a highly protected mountain meadow ecosystem (M&B UNESCO Reserve and one of the most important Polish National Parks). The research area covers a core part of the Western Tatras - the Gąsienicowa Valley and Kasprowy Wierch summit, which are among the most visited destinations of the Polish Tatras. The research method is based on field hyperspectral measurements, using the ASD FieldSpec 3 spectrometer, on the dominant plant species of alpine swards. Sampling sites were located on trampled areas (next to trails) and reference plots, with the same species, but located more than 10 m from the trail (where the probability of trampling was very low, but the same composition of analysed plants). In each case, homogenous plots with a domination of one plant species were investigated. Based on the hyperspectral measurements, spectral characteristics as well as vegetation indices were analysed with the ANOVA statistical test. This indicated a varied resistance to trampling of the studied plant species. The analysis of vegetation indices enabled the selection of those groups which are the most useful for research into mountain vegetation condition: the broadband greenness group; the narrowband greenness group, measuring chlorophyll content and cell structure; and the canopy water content group. The results of the analyses show that vegetation of the High Tatras is characterised by optimal ranges of remote sensing indices. Only plants located nearest to the trails were in a worse condition (chlorophyll and water content was lower for the reference targets). These differences are statistically significant, but the measured values indicate a good condition of vegetation along trampled trails, within the range of optimum plant characteristics.

    The future commander of the 4th Legions’ Infantry Regiment was born on the 4th of April 1876 in the village of Bryńce Zagórne, Autrian Galicia. He grew up in a family of the forester. He completed the Imperial and Royal St Ann’s Gymnasium and in 1898 graduated from the Austro-Hungarian Army Cadet School (Kadettenschule) in Wiener Neustadt near Vienna.  In 1899 Bolesław Roja was promoted to second lieutenant. He served in the 36th Land Defence Regiment (k.k. 36 Landwehrinfanterieregiment) in Kolomyia.  In 1905 he was transferred to army reserve. Before World War I he cooperated with the Austro-Hungarian intelligence. In 1914 B. Roja joined the Polish Legions, at first in the 2nd Legions’ Infantry Regiment (the 2nd Brigade of the Polish Legions). In March 1915 r. he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and appointed the commander of the 4th Legions’ Infantry Regiment which joined the 3rd Brigade. The regiment was formed in Rozprza near Piotrków Trybunalski. In July 1915 B. Roja moved to the front to fight against the Imperial Russian Army. His regiment took a part in the battle of Jastków near Lublin (July 31-August 3, 1915) and later fought in the Volyn region. In September 1915 B. Roja got promoted to the rank of colonel. In December his regiment was moved to Optowa by the Styr River were the camp of the Polish Legions was set up. It was called the ”Roja’s Camp”. In the beginning of 1916 B. Roja organised the Colonel Council (Rada Pułkowników), a collective body of the Polish legionary officers. In July 1916 he took a part in the Battle of Kostyukhnivka (Kostiuchnówka) in the Volyn region. After the Oath Crisis (Kryzys Przysięgowy) in July 1917 B. Roja left the Polish Legions and rejoined the Austro-Hungarian Army. In 1918 he returned to Kraków where he took over former Austrian Military Command (late October). In November 1918 he was promoted to brigade general and named the commander of Kraków garrison. He served in the Polish Army untill 1922 when he was transferred to reserve. In 1928 B. Roja was elected to the parliament as a member of Stronnictwo Chłopskie peasant party. He frequently criticized Józef Piłsudski and sanacja government. In 1937 he was interned at the psychiatric ward of the Kraków military hospital. In March 1940 the general was arrested by the Germans and placed in Pawiak prison in Warsaw. In May he was transferred to Sachsenhausen concentration camp, where he was murdered in a beastly way on the 27th May 1940.

    When Poland recovered the independence in November 1918 the regional movement could freely developed itself at last. Especially it took place in the Podhale region. Since the half of the 30's of the 20th century the mountain festivals were organised to promote folklore of the highlanders from various regions of Poland. It was not only Podhale but also Silesia and Hutsul region. Events reviewed in the article were named: The Mountain Holidays (Święta Gór), The Mountain Conventions (Zjazdy Górskie) and The Mountain Weeks (Tygodnie Gór). The first one was organised in 1935 in Zakopane. Next – in 1936 in Sanok. In 1937 the event took place in Wisła and in 1938 in Nowy Sącz. In 1939 The Mountain Week was planned in September. Because of the outbreak of the WW2 it was impossible. Many organisations and institutions took part in preparation of these events. First of all it was The Union of The Mountain Lands (Związek Ziem Górskich). Moreover: The Polish Post, The Polish State Railways, army and the Scouts. The events were advertised by posters, postcards and special printed programmes. They promoted a mountain tourism and developed the interest in mountain folklore in Poland.

    The martial music has accompanied the people since the antiquity. It has been used to announce military events or accompany marching formations but first of all to intimidate the enemy and to encourage the fighting soldiers. In November 1918 Poland restored sovereignty after 123 years of partition by the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussia and the Habsburg Empire. The Polish Army was organized. In the south of Poland the highlander riflemen units were created thanks to the activity of colonel/general Andrzej Galica (1873–1945). These regiments obtained the uniforms referring to traditional folk costumes of Gorale (Polish highlanders). They wore special cloaks and hats. Also the martial music of the Polish highlander riflemen units had a source in the folk music. The folk instruments, like the bagpipes, were adapted for martial orchestras. A traditional hiking stick/weapon of the Gorale, called ciupaga, was used to conduct the orchestras. In the article three characters of highlander riflemen band masters were presented. These are: Mieczysław Mordarski (1888–1959) – the 1st highlander riflemen regiment; Maksymilian Firek (1888–1871) – the 2nd highlander riflemen regiment; Zdenko Karol Rund (1889–1962) – the 3rd highlander riflemen regiment. Nowadays Orkiestra Reprezentacyjna Straży Granicznej (The Representative Band of the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland) in Nowy Sącz and Orkiestra Garnizonowa (The Garrison Band) in Rzeszów cultivate the Polish highlanders traditions in their music.

    Jerzy Dobrodzicki, born December 14, 1884 in Wadowice, was an Austrian infantry officer, then a brigade general of the Polish Army. In 1905 he joined the Austro-Hungary army. He was a member of the Association for Active Struggle (Związek Walki Czynnej). In 1911 he made contact with the Riflemen’s Associa-tion (Związek Strzelecki) as a combat training instructor. In the World War I he fought on the Russian front as the company and then the battalion commander. In January 1917 he joined the Polnische Wehrmacht. After the „refusal to swear” allegiance to Austria-Hungary and Germany crisis of Polish soldiers in July 1917, J. Dobrodzicki returned to the ranks of the Austrian 20th infantry regiment, which went to the Italian front at the Piava river. He took the lead of the „Freedom” Organisation which coordinated Poles who served in the Austro-Hungary Army. As politically suspect he was pulled from the front to Bochnia near Cracow. After the end of the World War I he was promoted to the rank of major and appointed to organize the 2nd Highlander Riflemen Regiment. During the Polish-Soviet War he commanded the 5th infantry regiment. During the battle of Borodzianka (May 12, 1920) he was seriously wounded and taken to a hospital. During the period November 20, 1920 – September 14, 1921 he commanded the 1st Infantry Brigade. In the years 1921–1926 he was the commander of the 1st Highlander Riflemen Regiment in Nowy Sącz, then the commander of the divisional infantry in the18th Infantry Division in Łomża. In 1929 J. Dobrodzicki was promoted to the rank of brigadier general and appointed commander of the II Corps District (Okręg Korpusu) in Lublin. He died in Warsaw on November 15, 1934 and was buried in Powązki Cemetery. His wife, Zofia Dobrodzicka lived in Warsaw and went through the horror of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. She died in 1970. During the World War II the general’s only son, Jerzy Andrzej Dobrodzicki, served in the Polish Navy, the branch of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. After the war he lived in Great Britain and moved to Canada in 1949. He died in Ottawa in 2001. His son Andrzej lives with his family Grażyna and Adam in Canada.

    This contribution presents the record of an abundant assemblage of well-preserved, thallophytic noncalcified algae and of an epibiotic form that has been recognised as a putative graptolite from the upper Silurian (Ludlow, Gorstian–Ludfordian) of Podolia (western part of Ukraine). The sediments represent a shallow peritidal zone of the shelf. A new genus and species, Voronocladus dryganti, belonging to the Dasycladales Pascher, 1931, is established. Most of the specimens representing the algal thallus are overgrown by problematical epibiotic graptolites, described as Podoliagraptus algaeoides gen. et sp. nov. This phenomenon is explained as an epiphytic mode of life of the putative graptolite on algae, and is herein compared to recently known coexistences of algae with other organisms. The excellent state of preservation, and the abundance of studied Dasycladales algae and epibiotic problematics indicate that the investigated mudstone layer can be treated as a ‘Konservat Lagerstätte’ sensu Seilacher (1970).

    Innowacyjność, jako cecha osobowości człowieka, wykazuje zróżnicowane nasilenie, odzwierciedlając się w odmiennych zachowaniach jednostki wobec nowych zjawisk. Ta ogólna konstatacja ma swoje odzwierciedlenie również w odniesieniu do innowacyjności konsumentów i ich zachowań wobec nowych zjawisk rynkowych. Ze względu na odmienne uwarunkowania zachowań konsumentów wobec produktów żywnościowych i nieżywnościowych, podjęto badania mające na celu rozpoznanie istoty postaw konsumentów wobec innowacji na rynku żywności. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań, zarówno jakościowych, jak ilościowych w ramach projektu pt. BIOŻYWNOŚĆ – innowacyjne, funkcjonalne produkty pochodzenia zwierzęcego, stwierdzono, że konsumenci przez „innowacyjne produkty żywnościowe” najczęściej rozumieją żywność w nowych wariantach smakowych, jak też żywność o podwyższonej jakości i walorach zdrowotnych. Natomiast najczęściej postrzeganą zmianą na rynku żywności jest zwiększenie oferty produktów, charakteryzujących się zmniejszeniem działania uczulającego oraz produktów o zmniejszonej zawartości sztucznych składników, a zwłaszcza konserwantów. Dostrzegane przez konsumentów zmiany cechuje różny stopień akceptacji, przy czym zdecydowana większość badanych negatywnie odnosi się do „polepszania” żywności przez jej wzbogacanie różnymi składnikami. Generalnie odnotowano znikomy odsetek konsumentów deklarujących zainteresowanie nabywaniem nowych produktów żywnościowych.
    Innovativeness as the man’s personality trait displays diversified intensity, being reflected in different behaviours of the individual towards new phenomena. This general statement is also reflected in consumers’ innovativeness and their behaviours towards new market phenomena. Due to different determinants of consumers’ behaviours towards food and non-food products, there is undertaken research aimed at identification of the essence of consumers’ attitudes towards innovations in the food market. In result of carried out surveys, both qualitative and quantitative, within the framework of the project BIOFOOD – innovative, functional products of animal origin, the author states that consumers, speaking of “innovative food products”, most often understand foods in new flavour versions as well as foods of higher quality and healthy values. However, the most often perceived change in the market for food is an increase of the offer of the products, for which specific is reduced allergising action, as well as the products with a reduced content of artificial components, especially preservatives. The perceived by consumers changes are characterised by a different degree of acceptance, and the overwhelming majority of respondents have negative attitudes to food ‘improvement’ by way of enrich ments thereof with various ingredients. In general, there is noted a negligible per cent of consumers declaring their interest in purchasing new food products.
    Инновационность как черта личности человека указывает на неодинаковую интенсивность, отражаясь в отличном поведении индивида по отношению к новым явлениям. Эта общая констатация отражается также в отношении потребителей к инновационности и в их поведении по отношению к новым рыночным явлениям. Из-за отличных обусловленностей поведения потребителей по отношению к продуктам питания и непищевым продуктам предприняли исследования, направленные на выявление сути отношения потребителей к новшествам на рынке продуктов питания. В результате проведенных исследований, как качественных, так и количественных, в рамках проекта «Биопища – инновационные, функциональные продукты животного происхождения» выявили, что потребители под «инновационными продуктами питания» чаще всего подразумевают пищу в новых вкусовых вариантах, а также пищу повышенного качества и с ценностями с точки зрения здоровья. Чаще же всего воспринимаемым изменением на рынке пищевых продуктов является увеличение предложения продуктов, для которых свойственно пониженное аллергизирующее действие, а также продуктов со сниженным содержанием искусственных компонентов, в особенности консервантов. Замечаемые потребителями изменения характеризуются разной степенью одобрения, причем подавляющее большинство обследуемых негативно относятся к «улучшению» пищевых продуктов путем их обогащения разными компонентами. В основном отметили ничтожную долю потребителей, которые заявляют о заинтересованности в приобретении новых продуктов питания.

    Economic crimes generates losses both for state budget and private sector. Losses for state budget are primarily reducing revenues, obtaining undue revenues, and phishing subsidies. In private sector losses are connected to lowering income and decrease of competitiveness. Honest entrepreneurs have difficulties staying on market, because prices of their products cannot compete with the prices of goods by criminal groups, which does not pay taxes allowing them to offer lower prices. Economic crime concerns not only security and public order, but also state economic safety connecting to business profitability and security. Economic crime is multifaceted, including lowering of public law climes, capital, banking and insurance market crimes, as well as public procurement crimes, copyright law and all profit-oriented crime taking into account market mechanisms. This article presents the problems of tax crime in Poland and the results of police activities in counteracting this crime.

    Autoryzowane Centrum Szkolenia Autodesk Politechniki Gdańskiej zostało założone w 1995 roku. Stanowiło odpowiedź na rosnące zainteresowanie zdobywaniem umiejętności obsługi oprogramowania typu CAD wśród studentów i młodych inżynierów. Rosnące zainteresowanie zaowocowało stopniowym wdrażaniem kolejnych narzędzi e-learningowych. Wraz ze zdobyciem statusu Autoryzowanego Akademickiego Partnera Autodesk w 2016 roku pojawiły się nowe możliwości dotyczące nie tylko e-nauczania, ale także przeprowadzania egzaminów oraz certyfikacji za pomocą narzędzi on-line na różnych poziomach zaawansowania. W niniejszym artykule omówione zostały dobre praktyki, korzyści i wyzwania związane z wykorzystaniem poszczególnych e-narzędzi w kształceniu, egzaminowaniu i certyfikacji Autodesk.
    Autodesk Authorized Training Center of Gdansk University of Technology was founded in 1995. It was a response to the growing interest in gaining CAD software skills among students and young engineers. The growing interest had resulted in the gradual implementation of further e-learning tools. The first solution implemented was a proprietary on-line platform - TeleCAD, which was designed in 1996. TeleCAD had been used for many years, until 2003, when it was replaced with LMS Moodle. Along with obtaining the Autodesk Authorized Academic Partner status in 2016, new opportunities appeared not only for e-learning solutions, but also for exam and certification processes at various levels that could become conducted using dedicated on-line tools. This article aims to discuss some of the good practices, benefits and challenges associated with using e-tools in Autodesk teaching, examination and certification. The article also addresses the importance of collaboration between different training and certification centers in order to provide students with high-level CAD education and the appropriate preparation for Certiport exams, that gives the opportunity to get internationally authorized certificates, which are widely desired in the labor market.

    Celem badań przeprowadzonych wśród osób uprawiających rekreację konną było uzyskanie informacji na temat jeździectwa jako formy rekreacji ruchowej i jej wpływu na życie osób, które w niej uczestniczą. W badaniu wzięło udział 352. respondentów korzystających z usług ośrodków jeździeckich funkcjonujących na terenie województwa warmińsko-mazurskiego. Posłużono się metodą sondażu diagnostycznego oraz techniką ankiety. Do zebrania danych posłużył autorski kwestionariusz ankiety. Na podstawie uzyskanego materiału empirycznego można stwierdzić, że głównym motywem uprawiania jeździectwa jest zamiłowanie do koni, które uzupełniane jest potrzebą aktywnego wypoczynku w środowisku przyrodniczym. Poza tym regularne uprawianie rekreacji konnej w istotny sposób wpływa na życie jeźdźców, kształtując ich charakter, szeroko rozumiane zdrowie i kontakty społeczne. Natomiast główną barierą utrudniającą regularne uprawianie jeździectwa są wysokie koszty tej formy rekreacji fizycznej.
    Recreational horseback riders were surveyed to gather information about horseback riding as a form of active recreation and its influence on the participants’ lives. A total of 352 respondents who are clients of horseback riding centers in the Region of Warmia and Mazury were surveyed. The research methods involved a diagnostic survey and a questionnaire. Data were collected with the use of a questionnaire designed by the author. The gathered empirical data indicate that the main reasons for participation in recreational riding are the love of horses and the desire for active recreation in natural surroundings. Regular horseback riding significantly influences the participants’ lives by promoting personal growth, health and social contacts. The high cost of recreational riding is the main barrier to regular participation in this form of physical activity.

    Total phenolic content (TPC) and phenolic profiles of extracts of the aerial parts of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.), lovage (Levisticum officinale Koch.), and tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus L.), and leaves of Indian borage (Plectranthus amboinicus) have been investigated. The extracts were prepared using 70% (v/v) ethanol and fresh or air-dried herbal material. Besides phenolic composition, DPPH• and ABTS•+ scavenging activity, and ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) were determined. The extracts from dried herbal materials exhibited higher TPC and more potent antioxidant activity than those from fresh counterparts. The highest TPC (146.77 g GAE/kg extract) and antioxidant activity (0.491, 0.643, and 0.396 mol TE/kg extract in DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays, respectively) were detected for the extract from dried leaves of Indian borage, while the lowest values were determined for the extract from fresh aerial parts of coriander. Five phenolic acids (rosmarinic, chlorogenic, caffeic, ferulic, and neochlorogenic acids) and four flavonoids ((+)-catechin, rutin, hyperoside, and astragalin) were identified in the samples. Only caffeic acid was present in all extracts. Its content in the extracts of dried tarragon and Indian borage was lower than in those of the fresh material. A significant correlation was found between antioxidant activity and the content of phenolic acids. Rutin was found to be the major flavonoid in most extracts. Based on the present study results, the possibility of using the extracts obtained from both fresh and air-dried herbs as potential components for functional food formulation can be considered in the future.

    Reservoir and sealing properties of Lower Triassic sandstones from seven boreholes of the central part of the Koszalin-Zamość Synclinorium were investigated in terms of potential levels for underground storage of carbon dioxide. Extensive petrographic studies, image analysis, and investigations of petrophysical properties of rocks and pore space were carried out. The research shows that diagenetic processes both variously affected the intensity of alteration and variously shaped the pore space. Not only primary but also secondary porosity, resulting from diagenetic alteration and dissolution, is observed in the rocks. Microscopic observations revealed that the pore space in studied samples is dominated by macropores. The results obtained indicate a poor suitability of the Lower Triassic deposits for the purpose of carbon dioxide sequestration.
    W pracy przedstawiono badania piaskowców triasu dolnego centralnej części synklinorium koszalińsko-zamojskiego pochodzących z siedmiu otworów wiertniczych, pod kątem ich właściwości kolektorsko-uszczelniających w aspekcie potencjalnych poziomów do podziemnego składowania dwutlenku węgla. Przeprowadzono szeroko zakrojone badania petrograficzne, analizę obrazu i badania właściwości petrofizycznych skał oraz przestrzeni porowej. W wyniku przeprowadzonych prac stwierdzono, że procesy diagenetyczne miały różny wpływ na intensywność zmian i w różny sposób kształtowały przestrzeń porową. W skałach zaobserwowano występowanie porowatości pierwotnej, a także wtórnej, powstałej na skutek przeobrażania i rozpuszczania diagenetycznego. Na podstawie obserwacji mikroskopowych uznano, że przestrzeń porowa w badanych próbkach jest zdominowana przez makropory. Wyniki badań wskazują na niewielką przydatność utworów triasu dolnego na potrzeby sekwestracji dwutlenku węgla.

    Regarding its size, references to the royal headstone of Anna Vasa of Sweden and the person’s rank, the monument to Anna Potocka née Lesz-czyńska (1615-1653) is one of the greatest sepulchral artworks in the Saint Mary’s Church in Toruń.It was created after 1653 and funded by the de-ceased’s husband, Jan Teodor Potocki.Potocka descended from a reli¬giously diverse family.Her father converted to Catholicism.Potocka was raised in her mother’s faith and was considered a zealous Calvinist.Her family held great offices in Respublica Poloniae both in catholic and pro¬testant communities.Her grandfather Rafał Leszczyński (ca. 1526-1593) was one of the most active supporters of the Reformation.Her father’s nephew Rafał Leszczyński (1597-1636) was a leader of Protestants called “a Calvinist pope in Poland”. Potocka deceased in Łowicz; however, her body was buried in Toruń due to her faith and the rank of the church, which was used by the Lutherans in the years 1557-1724 and during the Counter-Reformation it was a refuge to Protestants living in the southern part of Royal Prussia.In 16th and 17th century, Toruń, along with Gdańsk and Elbląg, was one of the most prestigious centres of Protestantism in Poland.It is probable that the heroine’s funeral ceremonies were modelled on the Anna Vasa’s funeral (1636) at which both Potocki and Leszczyński families were present. The monument to Potocka is located at the wall closing the fourth yoke of the nave, counting from the East.It consists of a portal frame with Leszczyński and Potocki’s family coats of arms. Under its semi-circular ar-cade, there is an inscription board with the family’s genealogy, Potocka’s characteristics and the name of the founder. The Potocka’s monument fits into the category of inscription epitaphs associated with the portal.It integrates two functions: commemoration and glorification. The latter is expressed by the portal as a door: a motive of symbolic passage into another reality, or as a triumphal arch, an element of exaltation, similarly to the arcade and columns. The monument was made of limestone of Dębnik and alabaster, artifi-cial stone, lime mortar imitating the black marble and alabaster.In 2009, it was restored back to its former splendour.Nodocumentation of theformer repair works have been preserved. As a result of unprofessional restoration, the object’s plastic and aesthetical qualities changed entirely.Before the recent restoration, gold plating and fragments of polychromy were visible, which provided the basis for their reconstruction.

    Rolnictwo ekologiczne dzięki metodom gospodarowania, które wykorzystuje, spełnia równocześnie trzy ważne zadania: korzystnie oddziałuje na środowisko naturalne, dostarcza ekologicznej żywności, wytworzonej bez udziału środków chemicznych oraz wpływa na sytuację dochodową właścicieli gospodarstw. Celem opracowania jest określenie tendencji rozwojowych gospodarstw ekologicznych w województwie podlaskim na tle innych regionów kraju oraz wskazanie głównych uwarunkowań ich rozwoju. Województwo podlaskie pod względem liczby gospodarstw ekologicznych zajmuje drugie miejsce w kraju (po województwie warmińsko-mazurskim), a pod względem udziału użytków ekologicznych w użytkach rolnych ogółem – miejsce czwarte (po zachodniopomorskim, lubuskim i warmińsko-mazurskim). Analiza obejmuje wybrane uwarunkowania prawno-organizacyjne, ekonomiczne, środowiskowo-produkcyjne i społeczne. W grupie uwarunkowań ekonomicznych zwraca uwagę niska sprzedaż produktów ekologicznych i wysokie zainteresowanie dopłatami z Unii Europejskiej.
    Ecological agriculture, thanks to the methods it uses, also fulfills three important functions: favorably influences the natural environment, provides ecological food which is produced without chemicals and affects the economic status of owners of ecological farms. The aims of this paper consist of the identification of the development potential of ecological farms located within the Podlasie Voivodeship in comparison to other regions of the country as well as the determination of the main conditions affecting their development. The Podlasie Voivodeship is second in Poland in respect to the number of ecological farms (following the Warminsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship) and fourth in regard to the share of land used for ecological farming (after Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Warminsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship). Our analysis considers selected legal, organizational, economic, production, environmental and social conditions. In respect to the economic conditions very noticeable are the low sales of ecological products and high interest in EU subsidies.

    The role of the Polish Geological Institute (PGI) from the beginning of its activity was to research mineral deposits necessary for the economic development of the country. During the interwar period, iron ore in the Holy Cross Mountains, phosphorites in the Annopol area, and hard coal of the present-day Lublin Coal Basin were discovered, and the presence of gravimetric anomalies in areas of later documented salt deposits was found by geophysical methods. The dynamic development of geological research after World War II led to great discoveries of copper ore, native sulfur, iron, brown coal and many other mineral deposits necessary for the development of the country. After the political and economic changes that took place in 1989, PGI's activities focused on maintaining databases on mineral resources, conducting work related to the identification of prognostic and prospective areas for the occurrence of deposits of mineral raw materials and the protection of deposits. These tasks will also be important in the future, but it is necessary to undertake extensive exploration work on mineral resources necessary for the raw material security of the country also outside of Poland, and to provide expert services in this area for business entities wishing to invest in the industry in the mining and raw materials sector in other countries.

    Opis:
    The article describes the Geoenvironmental Map of Poland that has been developing at the PGI- NRI since 1997. In 2019, work on its last, third edition was completed. Over the years, the scope of data developed in the project has been expanded. The form of map map sharing and the way of data presentation have also been modernized. For example, the last map edition was made in GIS technology, with the vector topographic database VMap Level 2 used as a topographic background. The map consisted of 21 layers, grouped in eight thematic layers presented graphically on two boards (board A and board B). One continuous database was created for all information layers as an integral part of the project. The map data are shared through web services and reporting tools that allow direct and easy access to their resource. The information and data collected and developed within the map have many uses and are used by a wide range of entities, e.g. state and local government authorities, investors, companies and universities (examples are described in the paper). Therefore, now the project will be continued in a changed, modern form. Its key elements will be: database maintenance, constant data update and map generation for current orders.
