Opis:
In this paper, the design and analysis of a compact size coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. The antenna has a compact size of 20×20×1.1 .5 .mm and provides a good impedance matching over the entire bandwidth of 3.2–14.3 GHz. The characteristics parameters, i.e. return loss, VSWR and radiation pattern, are analyzed using HFSS 11.0 software.

Opis:
Soil temperature is an important factor in biogeochemical processes. On-site monitoring of soil temperature is limited in spatio-temporal scale as compared to air temperature data inventories due to various management difficulties. Therefore, empirical models were developed by taking 30-year long-term (1985-2014) air and soil temperature data for prediction of soil temperatures at three depths (5, 15, 30 cm) in morning (0636 Indian standard time) and afternoon (1336 Indian standard time) for alluvial soils in lower Indo-Gangetic plain. At 5 cm depth, power and exponential regression models were best fitted for daily data in morning and afternoon, respectively, but it was reverse at 15 cm. However, at 30 cm, exponential models were best fitted for both the times. Regression analysis revealed that in morning for all three depths and in afternoon for 30 cm depth, soil temperatures (daily, weekly, and monthly) could be predicted more efficiently with the help of corresponding mean air temperature than that of maximum and minimum. However, in afternoon, prediction of soil temperature at 5 and 15 cm depths were more precised for all the time intervals when maximum air temperature was used, except for weekly soil temperature at 15 cm, where the use of mean air temperature gave better prediction.

Opis:
Putting a Y-capacitor between the primary ground and secondary ground is a common practice in industry to reduce EMI; but, this capacitor increases touch current. A method is discussed to measure the touch current at circuit design level. An optimum value of Y-capacitor is predicted without exceeding touch current limit. Experimental results of touch current measurements and EMI measurements are analyzed.

Opis:
We consider the time dependent Hartmann flow of a conducting fluid in a channel formed by two horizontal parallel plates of infinite extent, there being a layer of a non-conducting fluid between the conducting fluid and the upper channel wall. The flow formation of conducting and non-conducting fluids is coupled by equating the velocity and shear stress at the interface. The unsteady flow formation inside the channel is caused by a sudden change in the pressure gradient. The relevant partial differential equations capturing the present physical situation are transformed into ordinary differential equations using the Laplace transform technique. The ordinary differential equations are then solved analytically and the Riemann-sum approximation method is used to invert the Laplace domain into time domain. The solution obtained is validated by comparisons with the closed form solutions obtained for steady states which have been derived separately and also by the implicit finite difference method. The variation of velocity, mass flow rate and skin-friction on both plates for various physical parameters involved in the problem are reported and discussed with the help of line graphs. It was found that the effect of changes of the electric load parameter is to aid or oppose the flow as compared to the short-circuited case.

Opis:
An investigation has been carried out for the MHD 3-dimensional flow of nanofluid over a shrinking sweet saturating a porous media in the presence of thermal radiation and heat generation. Convective boundary conditions for the flow phenomena are used in the present analysis. The governing equations are reduced to ODEs employing suitable similarity transformations. The solutions of formulated differential equations have been attained mathematically by fourth order R-K technique along with the shooting method. The impact of the governing constraints on momentum, heat, and local Nusselt number, are explored. It is noticed that the momentum and heat decrease with raise in the porosity variable, temperature reduces with an enhance in the thermal radiation variable, and temperature enhances with an enhance in the heat source/sink parameter.
