Resuscytacja jest zbiorem metod mających na celu zahamowanie i odwrócenie procesu umierania. Przywrócenie krążenia krwi odbywa się poprzez zewnętrzny masaż serca. Polega on na rytmicznym uciskaniu ściany klatki piersiowej. Źle zlokalizowana, lub zbyt duża siła nacisku może spowodować złamanie żeber, co w konsekwencji prowadzić może do uszkodzenia narządów wewnętrznych. W pracy podjęto próbę analizy stanu naprężeń klatki piersiowej, podczas masażu serca, dla pacjenta z lejkowatą klatką piersiową.
Resuscitation is a set of methods to curb and reverse the dying process. Restoration of blood circulation is done by external cardiac massage. It consists of applying rhythmic pressure to the chest wall. However, if poorly located, or used with too much force, it can cause the fracture of ribs, which in turn can lead to damage to internal organs. The paper attempts to analyze the stress state of the chest during chest compressions for a patient with a funnel chest.

Zagadnienia ochrony środowiska od lat koncentrują się na oszczędnościach energii użytkowanej w okresach jesienno-zimowych zużywanej na ogrzewanie budynków. Restrykcyjne wymogi przepisów prawnych wymagają od projektantów, aby przegrody obiektów posiadały odpowiednie parametry izolacyjności termicznej, a stosowane urządzenia grzewcze posiadały wysokie parametry wydajności. Celem tych działań jest z jednej strony zmniejszenie zużycia ilości paliw naturalnych, których zasoby są ograniczone z drugiej zaś zmniejszenie emisji powstałych odpadów spalania wydzielanych do atmosfery. Stosunkowo nowym zagadnieniem, które związane jest ze zmieniającym się klimatem są poszukiwania oszczędności energii użytkowanej na ochronę przed gorącem w okresach letnich. Zmieniający się klimat, wzrost temperatur panujących latem oraz podniesienie standardów życia sprawiły, że stosowanie elektrycznych klimatyzatorów jest zjawiskiem codziennym. W skali globalnej zwiększenie zużycia energii elektrycznej, która jest wciąż produkowana w dużej mierze w elektrociepłowniach finalnie ma identyczny wpływ na środowisko jak efekty ogrzewania. Z powodów powyższych prowadzi się prace badawcze, których celem jest poprawa izolacyjności termicznej przegród przed wysokimi temperaturami w okresach letnich. Celem badań przedstawionych w niniejszym artykule była ocena wpływu zmienności podstawowych parametrów fizycznych materiałów izolacyjnych takich jak gęstość oraz wilgotność na możliwość przepływu ciepła przez przegrodę budowlaną w warunkach symulujących nagrzewanie jej powierzchni w okresie letnim. Do badań wykorzystano stanowisko badawcze zachowania się materiałów budowlanych w wysokich temperaturach. Badaniom poddano materiały budowlane takie jak styropian, wełna mineralna, beton komórkowy oraz ceramikę porowatą. Z wymienionych materiałów wykonano modele laboratoryjne przegród budowlanych. Symulację nagrzewania powierzchni przegrody prowadzono przy pomocy nagrzewnicy technicznej, która nagrzewała jej powierzchnie do temperatury 1000C. Na przeciwległej stronie przegrody obserwowano temperaturę przy pomocy termometru elektronicznego. Parametrem poddawanym ocenie była zmienność temperatury w czasie nagrzewania. Wyniki badań wskazały, jaki wpływ na przepływ ciepła przez przegrodę mają zawilgocenie i gęstość materiałów stosowanych do jej budowy.
Environmental issues have been focused on energy savings during the autumn and winter months for heating buildings. Restrictive regulatory requirements require designers to ensure that the building’s baffles have adequate thermal insulation and that the heating appliances used have high performance parameters. On the one hand, the aim of these measures is to reduce the consumption of the amount of natural fuels whose resources are limited and, on the other, to reduce the emission of combustion waste released into the atmosphere. A relatively new issue that is related to changing climate is the search for energy savings for heat protection in summer. The changing climate, rising temperatures in the summer and raising standards of living have made the use of electric air conditioners a daily phenomenon. On a global scale, increased electricity consumption, which is still being produced on a large scale in combined heat and power plants, has the same environmental impact as heating. For these reasons, extensive research is underway to improve the thermal insulation of the partitions against high summer temperatures. The purpose of the research presented in this article was to assess the influence of the variability of basic physical parameters of insulation materials on the possibility of penetrating heat through the building envelope under conditions simulating the heating of its surface in the summer. The research was carried out on the behavior of building materials at high temperatures. Construction materials such as polystyrene, mineral wool, cellular concrete and porous ceramics were tested. These materials were imitated laboratory of building partitions. Simulation of the heating of the partition surface was carried out with the aid of a technical dryer, which heated its surfaces to a temperature of 100ºC. On the opposite side of the barrier, the temperature was measured with an electronic thermometer. The parameter being evaluated is the temperature variation during heating. The results of the tests indicated the physical parameters of the insulating materials, which influence the possibility of penetrating the heat through the septum.

Organometallic compounds play an exceptional role among organic compounds. Due to their structure a number of these compounds demonstrate interesting properties in various phenomena. Organometallic compounds show special properties in the case of X-ray absorption owing to considerable differences between the absorption coefficients of metals and light elements. The analysis of processes of charge carrier generation as a result of X-ray absorption in chosen organometallic compounds is the subject of this paper. Spectral dependences of charge carrier photogeneration efficiency around the Cu K-edge in copper phthalocyanine and copper acetylacetoniane have been specially considered. It has been observed that the photocurrent spectrum in these materials follows the absorption spectrum but mutual relation is not directly proportional. Experimental results connected with current-voltage and current-intensity characteristics have been analysed, as well. The obtained relationships have been compared with adequate results connected with charge carrier photogeneration in visible area and UV in organic materials. It has been observed that the X-ray photogeneration of charge carriers in the examined range of energy differs from the mechanisms of charge carrier generation in visible area and UV. The basic differences arise from the participation of secondary electrons, which are generated due to Auger electrons, Compton effect, and metal fluorescence. The process of charge carrier generation as a result of X-rays absorption is characterized by strong recombination of charge carriers in channels in which charge carriers are generated by high energetic secondary electrons.

Introduction. The epidemic of human immunodeficiency virus has had a tremendous effect on the epidemic of tuberculosis. Together with the spread of HIV, a great increase has been observed in morbidity due to tuberculosis, both in endemic countries and in those where earlier, as a result of treatment, the frequency of occurrence of tuberculosis had decreased. In 2018, the WHO data demonstrated that the EECA region was the only region worldwide where the epidemics of HIV was still rapidly increasing. The EECA region still struggles with a serious epidemic of tuberculosis. Materials and method. The research method applied was comparative analysis of the results of own study and studies by other researchers, concerning the effectiveness of tuberculosis prophylaxis in patients with HIV/AIDS when treated with isoniazid. Results. In own study, it was found that primary morbidity among patients administered isoniazid significantly decreased within 5 years. Incidence rates of primary morbidity were significantly lower than among patients who had not received isoniazid. Relevant studies conducted worldwide, in many cases differed from own study with respect to both the results and approach to the problem, by country or selection of the type of patients participating in the study. However, in all studies, isoniazid was generally a safe and well-tolerated drug, without special side-effects. Conclusions. All studies analyzed concerning the effectiveness of tuberculosis prophylaxis in patients with HIV/AIDS treated with isoniazid, confirmed the effectiveness of this drug. In the compared studies, applied isoniazid preventive therapy showed no difference in effectiveness according to its duration. Analyzed studies showed similar effectiveness also with respect to a decrease in mortality among patients with TB/HIV/AIDS.

This preliminary study examines the potential effects of diagenetic processes on the oxygen-isotope ratios of bone and tooth phosphate (δ18O) from skeletal material of individuals representing the Corded Ware Culture (2500–2400 BC) discovered in Malżyce (Southern Poland). Intra-individual variability of Ca/P, CI, C/P, collagen content (%) and oxygen isotopes was observed through analysis of enamel, dentin and postcranial bones. Using a variety of analytical techniques, it was found that, despite the lack of differences in soil acidity, not all the parts of a skeleton on a given site had been equally exposed to diagenetic post mortem changes. In a few cases, qualitative changes in the FTIR spectrum of analysed bones were observed. The data suggest that apart from quantitative analyses, i.e., the calculation of Ca/P, CI, C/P and collagen content, qualitative analyses such as examination of the absorbance line are recommended. The degree to which a sample is, contaminated on the basis of any additional, non-biogenic peaks, deemed to be contaminated should also be specified.

Opis:
The purpose of the study was the in vivo diagnosing of E. cuniculi invasions in pet rabbits with neurological symptoms using the Real-Time PCR, and determination of the rate of invasion, in this group of animals. The study involved 103 pet rabbits with neurological symptoms. Parasitic invasions were diagnosed using Real-Time PCR. The DNA of the parasites for molecular tests was isolated from the urine of the diseased animals. Out of the 103 tested DNA samples, the presence of the E. cuniculi genetic material was detected in 27 samples (26.21%). The melting temperature (Tm) of all products was 77.5℃. The presence of parasitic DNA in the urine of 26.21% of examined animals indicates that E. cuniculi infections occur widely in pet rabbits in Poland and are a significant cause of neurological disorders in those animals.
