Opis:
Blockchain-based cyber-physical systems (CPSs) and the blockchain Internet of things (BIoT) are two major focuses of the modern technological revolution. Currently we have security attacks like distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), address resolution protocol (ARP) spoofing attacks, various phishing and configuration threats, network congestion, etc. on the existing CPS and IoT architectures. This study conducts a complete survey on the flaws of the present centralized IoT system’s peer-to-peer (P2P) communication and the CPS architecture’s machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Both these architectures could use the inherent consensus algorithms and cryptographic advantages of blockchain technology. To show how blockchain technology can resolve the flaws of the existing CPS and IoT architectures while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability (the CIA triad), we conduct a holistic survey here on this topic and discuss the research focus in the domain of the BIoT. Then we analyse the similarities and dissimilarities of blockchain technology in IoT and CPS architectures. Finally, it is well understood that one should explore whether blockchain technology will give advantages to CPS and IoT applications through a decision support system (DSS) with a relevant mathematical model, so here we provide the DSS with such a model for this purpose.

Opis:
Article focus of the disruptive character of technological innovations brought by Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), with its unprecedented scale and scope, and exponential speed of incoming innovations, described from the point view of ‘unintended consequences’ (cross cutting impact of disruptive technologies across many sectors and aspects of human life). With integration of technology innovations emerging in number of fields including advanced robotics, pervasive computing, artificial intelligence, nano- and bio- technologies, additive and smart manufacturing, Forth Industrial Revolution introduce new ways in which technology becomes embedded not only within the society, economy and culture, but also within human body and mind (described by integration of technologies, collectively referred to as cyber-physical systems). At the forefront of digital transformation, based on cyber physical systems, stands Industry 4.0, referring to recent technological advances, where internet and supporting technologies (embedded systems) are serving as framework to integrate physical objects, human actors, intelligent machines, production lines and processes across organizational boundaries to form new kind of intelligent, networked value chain, called smart factory. Article presents broader context of ‘disruptive changes (innovations)’ accompanying 4IR, that embrace both economical perspective of ‘broader restructuring’ of modern economy and society (described in second part of the article as transition from second to third and forth industrial revolution), and technological perspective of computer and informational science with advances in pervasive computing, algorithms and artificial intelligence (described in third part of article with different stages of web development : web 1.0, web 2.0, web 3.0, web 4.0). What’s more important, article presents hardly ever described in literature, psychological and philosophical perspective, more or less subtle reconfiguration made under the influence of these technologies, determining physical (body), psychological (mind) and philosophical aspect of human existence (the very idea of what it means to be the human), fully depicted in the conclusion of the article. The core element (novelty) is the attempt to bring full understanding and acknowledgment of disruptive innovations’, that “change not only of the what and the how things are done, but also the who we are”, moving beyond economical or technological perspective, to embrace also psychological and philosophical one.

Opis:
Purpose: This study aims to determine the current state of research on partner management in the context of IIoT platforms that rely on partnerships to act as innovation engines. Design/Method/Approach (only for empirical papers): The applied research method is a systematic literature analysis supported by a concept-centric synthesis. The sample of relevant literature comprises thirty papers. Findings: The results indicate that only a few frameworks exist to improve and professionalize partner management in the practice and only a few papers focus on IIoT platform ecosystems. In contrast, there are some articles that empirically examine individual determinants of partner management in detail. Based on these results, a conceptual framework is derived to organize and distinguish the determinants of partner management from the determinants of partner programs necessary to realize partner management. Theoretical Implications: The study contributes to the research stream on partner management in IIoT platform ecosystems and enterprise software ecosystems, synthesizing the existing research and highlighting the importance of curated support of partners as a competitive lever between platform ecosystems competing in the same domain. Practical Implications: Practitioners can use the derived framework to structure partner management activities and make more informed decisions based on the structured view of decisions summarized in the conceptual framework. Originality/Value: Due to the critical role of complementary partners in innovating upon IIoT platforms the framework is an important foundation for further research on the individual determinants of partner management in the context of digital platforms. Research Limitations/Future Research: The derived conceptual framework was not empirically validated. Empirical follow-up research could refine the framework and develop it into a taxonomy using systematic procedures.

Opis:
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is a rapidly growing field, where interconnected devices and systems are used to improve operational efficiency and productivity. However, the extensive connectivity and data exchange in the IIoT environment make it vulnerable to cyberattacks. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) are used to monitor IIoT networks and identify potential security breaches. Feature selection is an essential step in the IDS process, as it can reduce computational complexity and improve the accuracy of the system. In this research paper, we propose a hybrid feature selection approach for intrusion detection in the IIoT environment using Shapley values and a genetic algorithm-based automated preprocessing technique which has three automated steps including imputation, scaling and feature selection. Shapley values are used to evaluate the importance of features, while the genetic algorithm-based automated preprocessing technique optimizes feature selection. We evaluate the proposed approach on a publicly available dataset and compare its performance with existing state-of-the-art methods. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms existing methods, achieving high accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The proposed approach has the potential to enhance the performance of IDS in the IIoT environment and improve the overall security of critical industrial systems.

Opis:
The requirements of Industry 4.0 determine the necessity to change thinking in the field of production development, adopted management methods and modernisation of production resources. When planning the implementation of a new production system (or retrofit), it is possible to use the RAMI 4.0 reference model, which was published in April 2015 by the VDI/VDE Society Measurement and Automatic Control. A key aspect of modern industrial systems is connectivity and trouble-free data exchange. In the case of data exchange, the basic element holding back the development of Industry 4.0 is the lack of standardisation, as well as the lack of interoperability between IIoT network nodes. Modern IIoT applications require high network throughput, low latency and reliability. In view of such guidelines, efficient communication standards and specialised equipment are required. Edge Computing is one of the most important technology trends of the 21st century that will play a key role in the IIoT market. Due to the diversity of available technologies and solutions, no universal standards have been developed to date that can be referred to when planning, building and implementing new applications. The article presents an overview of the most popular industrial communication protocols and their systematisation in terms of meet the requirements for IIoT devices.
