    Der Beitrag untersucht die Transkulturalität von Wiktor Gomulickis 1896 veröffentlichtem Poem Pieśń o Gdańsku, einem der wenigen polnischen Gedichte über das Danzig des Wilhelminischen Kaiserreiches. Er zeigt, dass die antagonistische Zeichnung des deutsch-slawischen Konflikts im Danzig jener Zeit mit intertextuellen Referenzen zur deutschen Literatur (Heinrich Heine, Joseph von Eichendorff ) einhergeht, das Gedicht also durch die Spannung von Nähe und Distanz zur deutschen Hegemonialkultur geprägt ist. Einige ausgewählte Szenen des Poems werden unter Rückgriff auf interkulturelle Metaphern (Palimpsest, Störung) interpretiert.
    The essay analyzes transculturalism of Wiktor Gomulicki’s poem Pieśń o Gdańsku, published in 1896, one of a few Polish poems about Gdańsk of the Wilhelmine Empire. It shows that antagonistic drawing of the German-Slavic conflict in Gdańsk of that period is accompanied by intertextual references to German literaturę (Heinrich Heine, Joseph von Eichendorff ), so the poem is characterized by tension of proximity and distance to the German hegemonic culture. The selected scenes of the poem are interpreted with recourse to intercultural metaphors (palimpsest, disruption).

    The politics of memory and culture of the Polish People’s Republic alludes to Ideologiekritik in its idiosyncratic way characterized by Marxist utopianism. In reality, this leads to reversing this theory. The causes of fascism are seen in “German imperialism”. For political and strategic reasons the German Democratic Republic becomes one of the main partners of the Polish People’s Republic, with regard to which it is capable of accomplishing the guidelines of its policy in the cultural dimension. This is accompanied by an intensive cultural exchange between the two countries. In the language of official politics manifested, for instance, in the strategy of publishing houses of the Polish People’s Republic the culture of the two countries develop in a parallel fashion, which is an obvious product of the propaganda.
    Z przyczyn polityczno-strategicznych jednym z głównych partnerów PRL, wobec którego jest w stanie realizować wytyczne swej polityki w wymiarze kulturowym jest NRD. Następuje intensywna wymiana kulturalna między tymi krajami. Na podstawie strategii wydawnictw PRL publikujących niemal każdy utwór literacki napisany przez pisarzy NRD można by sądzić, że kultury obu krajów rozwijają się równolegle. Jest to jednak oczywisty wytwór propagandowy.

    Rok 2000 był rokiem powstania „Biblioteki polskiej”, określaną „Nieznajomą piękną”. Rok obecny jest dwudziestym jubileuszem jej urodzin i zarazem doskonała okazją, by przypomnieć kulisy powstawania, zawartość oraz promocję tego okazałego, pięćdziesięciotomowego zbioru.     The article analyses and interprets the apothegms and quotations from ancient and old-Polish literature in one of the most important testimonies of the Holocaust in world literature. In Polish criticism, there are few discussions of Perechodnik’s journal, and the existing articles are controversial because of their biased interpretations, which, in the present author’s opinion, are often manipulatory. It seems that the Polish intepretators of Spowiedź try, contrary to the author’s clear intention, to inscribe the text in the current controversies between Poles and Jews, while disregarding the third nation (Germans), and to turn Perechodnik into a postmodern author, because it allows for suspension of ethical rules. The greatness and tragedy of the author, however, stand for their own without such manipulations.

    Artykuł dotyczy polskiej recepcji twórczości niemieckiego jezuity Jeremiasa Drexela (1581-1638), twórcy popularnych w całej niemal Europie łacińskich pism o tematyce religijnej i moralistycznej. Autor przedstawia korpus XVII- i XVIII-wiecznych polskich translacji dzieł Drexela (autorstwa m.in. Jana Chomętowskiego, Szymona Jurkiewicza, Albrychta Stanisława Radziwiłła i Kazimierza Stęplowskiego), rejestruje ich obecność w księgozbiorach przedrozbiorowej Rzeczypospolitej oraz liczne świadectwa ich odbioru w tekstach polskich twórców, przede wszystkim w piśmiennictwie kaznodziejskim i religijnym, wskazuje możliwe kierunki przyszłych badań (np. nad strategiami translatorskimi staropolskich tłumaczy) oraz podkreśla rolę literatury nowołacińskiej w transferze kulturowym między dawną Rzecząpospolitą a krajami niemieckiego obszaru językowego oraz w przełamywaniu barier etnicznych, politycznych i wyznaniowych we wczesnonowożytnej Europie.
    This article discusses the Polish reception of the works by the German Jesuit Jeremias Drexel (1581–1638), the author of Latin religious and moralistic writings, popular almost all over Europe. The study presents seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Polish translations of Drexel’s works by, amongst others, Jan Chomętowski, Szymon Jurkiewicz, Albrycht Stanisław Radziwiłł and Kazimierz Stęplowski, records their presence in the book collections of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and provides evidence of their extensive reception in the texts of Polish authors, primarily in sermons and religious literature. It also indicates possible directions for future research (for example, on the translation techniques of Old Polish translators)  and emphasises the role of Neo-Latin literature in the cultural transfer between Poland-Lithuania and the countries of the German language area, as well as in overcoming ethnic, political and religious barriers in early modern Europe.
