Opis:
Since the year 2001 new ideology of clean and simple synthesis in organic chemistry has been established. The outstanding scientists Meldal and Sharpless presented their concepts of Click Chemistry. Among the reactions chosen for this concept the reaction of Copper(I) Catalyzed Alkyne-Azide Cycloaddition (CuAAC) became the most popular one. It is the basis of syntheses employed for building blocks synthesis in medicinal chemistry and material science. Libraries of potentially pharmacologically active anticancer and antivirus compounds possessing neutral triazol linkage could be easily obtained. Remarkable efficiency of CuAAC reaction influenced on DNA- and RNAbased synthesis of novel oligonucleotides derivatives. Many of nucleic acid molecular modifications found applications in enzymatic transformation, nucleic acid hybridization, molecular tagging and gene silencing. The CuAAC reaction allows for introducing modifications into practically every region of nucleoside/nucleotide/ oligonucleotide. This includes versatile modifications of the base moiety both aiming at the base pairing ability or specific labeling of the nucleoside unit. Different conjugates (bio-, fluorescent-, affinity- or spin labels) are being attached to the base part of the nucleic acid taking advantage of the presence of azide or alkyne substituents, which can be installed without great difficulty. Labeling at the sugar part of the nucleoside can be realized at the position 2’, 3’ or 5’, the latter two giving rise to the end-labeled oligonucleotides and the 2’ position serving as the attachment point for labeling inside the oligonucleotide chain. These kind of nucleic acid modifications are very promising. Versatility of CuAAC reactions is demonstrated by numerous examples of introducing modifications into practically every reactive site of the nucleotide/oligonucleotide molecule. The review systematically presents application of the “click” technique for modification of nitrogenous base, sugar or pseudosugar moiety or phosphorus center. Possibility of creating new kind of chain linkage, devoid of negative charge and nuclease resistant is also shown. This allows to design a new class of nucleic acid analogues, similar in its DNA-mimicking properties to PNA’s.

Opis:
The observation of the rapid rate of plant cover transformation caused by urbanization and agricultural technology was the inspiration for undertaking the study in rural areas. The study was carried out in the Sandomierz Basin in four typical villages with varying degrees of the anthropogenic impact. The changes observed included: Koszyce Małe – evident transformation of fields and meadows into building land; Kolbuszowa Dolna – intensive changes in land use, abandonment of fields and meadows, and river regulation; Roźwienica – emergence of new habitats for plant colonization after reclamation of land previously occupied by a brick factory and a landfill; Krzeczowice – intensive crop cultivation and unchanged land use. In 2009–2010, floristic investigations with the patrol method were carried out in these areas. The historical-geographical classification and indices of the anthropogenic changes of the flora were employed in the analysis. Substantially, domination of synanthropic species over non-synanthropic spontaneophytes was noted in the analysed floras. In the synanthropic species group, the proportion of apophytes was 3-fold higher than that of anthropophytes. Archaeophytes were more abundant than kenophytes. The flora of Krzeczowice, an area affected by long-term anthropopressure, was by approx. 30% less abundant than that in the other villages; it was also characterised by the highest synanthropization index, apophytization index, and index of apophytism of spontaneophytes. In turn, the flora found in Kolbuszowa Dolna was rich due to the presence of a wide variety of habitats; it was characterised by the lowest apophytization index accompanied by the highest anthropophization index.

Opis:
Background: Legionella spp. have been found in both natural and manmade water systems, coastal waters, thermal waters, moist soils, clays, and near wastewater discharge sites. Aim of the study: This study aims to report a comparative, retrospective epidemiological analysis of water testing study results indicating the presence of Legionella spp. in Poland between 2009-2013 and 2014-2016. This study is a comparative retrospective epidemiological analysis of individual tests for the presence of Legionella spp. in hotels between two different time periods. The two time periods being compared in this study are between 2009-2013 (n=369 hotels) and 2014-2016 (n=174 hotels). Reporting has been performed in accordance with the STROBE checklist. Material and methods: Hot water samples were collected by employees of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Poland as part of routine water quality monitoring. Samples were taken from the water supply systems of 369 hotels, representing 19.59% of total hotels in Poland, from January 2009 until December 2013. Samples were taken from the water supply systems of 174 hotels, representing 7.51% of total hotels in Poland, from January 2014 until December 2016. Results: The percentage of facilities classified as Group I remained comparable for the period between 2009 and 2013 compared to the period between 2014 and 2016. The percentage of facilities classified as Group II, however, showed a clear upward trend between 2014 and 2016 compared to the time period between 2009 and 2013. The percentage of facilities classified as Group III showed a clear downward trend between 2014 and 2016 compared to the time period between 2009 and 2013. Conclusions: The colonization rates observed in this comparative study indicate that the aquatic environment in these facilities requires constant monitoring to lower the risk of legionellosis. The increased colonization of hotel water networks with Legionella spp. is a serious health problem that requires constant monitoring.

Opis:
Transport, as part of the national economy plays very important functions and services of public transport in the form of regular services fulfills important roles and has many specific features. First of all, it satisfies the daily needs of the population. They are characterized by the widespread availability; also important is regularity of the operation based on the published timetable. The issue of passenger transport is very complex and conditioned by a number of provisions. It is specific type of transport, which brings on the carrier and the transport organizer great responsibility. To carry out the national transport of passengers should be fulfilled a number of obligations conditioned by national and EU regulations. The article discusses the legal conditions for the regular transport of passengers.

Opis:
The development of civilization, economic growth, urbanization, industrialization and progress in medicine bring to the society an improvement in the quality of life, but at the same time caused changes in lifestyle, environmental conditions, and changes in the natural environment. All of these led to develop civilization diseases which have critical impact and the adverse effect on our health, about what we not always realize. In the past fifty years, about 30 new pathogens appeared causing diseases such as legionellosis, Lyme disease, and increase unexpectedly tuberculosis incidence which in some regions is associated with HIV infections. Also widespread use of antibiotics caused and still causing bacterial resistance increase to most of them. With the development of medicine and surgery, parallel effects of surgical areas and infections associated with implanted cardiac devices in the majority of the life-saving ones appeared. The development of research techniques allowed for the finding of new relationships between ecosystems in the microbiome of the gastrointestinal tract with of obesity in the society. The presence of new health aspects of civilization diseases impose pressure to create new prevention methods and public education.
