Opis:
Results of experimental study of multiexcitonic emission related to the p-shell of single self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots are presented. Optical properties of a first emission line to appear from the p-shell of a strongly excited quantum dots are investigated using low-temperature polarization-sensitive micro-photoluminescence measurements. The emission line is attributed to the recombination of a complex of three electrons and holes confined in a dot (neutral triexciton), 3X. It is found that the emission consists of two linearly polarized components and the fine structure splitting is larger than the respective splitting of a neutral exciton. The optical anisotropy of the 3X emission is related to the anisotropy of the quantum dot localizing potential. The axis of the 3X optical anisotropy changes from dot to dot covering broad range within ± 50 degrees with respect to the axis defined by the optical anisotropy of a neutral exciton (X). Possible origin of the deviation is discussed.

Opis:
Growing competition, clients’ requirements as well as advances in technology make modern industrial enterprises search for a way of achieving and maintaining strong position on the market. One of the principal and at the same time necessary conditions to achieve this aim is continuous development of all of the processes in order to fulfil various clients’ expectations. Enterprises make use of different concepts and management methods which in significant way upgrade ongoing processes by raising their efficiency. One of such is the concept of ‘lean’ production - Lean Manufacturing. Management according to Lean Management rules allows to produce more with the use of less resources - at the same time approaching the aim which is to deliver clients the exact product they want. The process of resources use limitation is not easy to perform however, the concept of Lean Manufacturing by the application of chosen tools allows successfully and effectively to introduce ‘lean’ model of management in an enterprise and undertaking following improvement activities in every of its field.

Logistics and forecasting of changes should be permanent elements of logistic activity. This requires the observation of new conditions for logistics as well as its multifaceted analysis, i.e. the perception of mutual relations and impact. New logistics concepts resulting from technological development will be created. One of the new solutions is the concept of Industry 4.0, the implementation of which can generate innovative solutions and long-term effects on the industry, including significantly production logistics.

Opis:
The main purpose of the paper is the analysis of a process of change focusing particularly on the concept of slimmed production (Lean) and its implementation in the enterprise. A case study method was chosen as a research tool because it offers wide array of techniques and means of gaining and data analysis. In the article a metallurgical company was evaluated as a case study. Thanks to implementing of Autonomous Maintenance the company reached a growth in skills and responsibility for work done and a reduction in malfunction of work places. Thus to the analysis one of the Lean concept tools was taken – total process maintenance (TPM) which implementation significantly influences industrial workers’ competences. Referring to the subject bibliography within change management, the article focused on one of the changes in particular – the change in human resources management (it is within their skills) in steel and manufacturing companies.

Opis:
Neptunium-237 samples were irradiated in a spallation neutron fi eld produced in accelerator-driven system (ADS) setup QUINTA. Five experiments were carried out on the accelerators at the JINR in Dubna – one in carbon (C6+), three in deuteron, and one in a proton beam. The energy in carbon was 24 GeV, in deuteron 2, 4 and 8 GeV, respectively, and 660 MeV in the proton beam. The incineration study method was based on gamma-ray spectrometry. During the analysis of the spectra several fi ssion products and one actinide were identifi ed. Fission product activities yielded the number of fi ssions. The actinide (Np-238), a result of neutron capture by Np-237, yielded the number of captures. The main goal of this work was to fi nd out if and how the incineration rate depended on parameters of the accelerator beam.

Opis:
Objectives of the research: The aims of this research are to conduct a comparison study between the level of communication and flexibility in families with autistic children in two different geographical locations and cultural contexts – California (USA) and Poland (Europe) – to address whether the level of these two dimensions of family functioning are related to the ego-resiliency of the parents, and additionally to discuss the practical implications that can be drawn from the results. Research methods: Communication and flexibility profiles in family functioning were collected in Poland and California from September 2016 to February 2018. Data on the similarities and differences between parents of children with autism spectrum disorder in Poland (n=111) and California (n=105) was collected using Olson’s FACES-IV. The Ego-Resiliency Scale was also administered in methodologically standardized conditions and was empirically analyzed along with controlled demographic variables. A short description of the context of the issue: Family functioning and ego-resiliency in families with children with autism are analyzed in this research. The richness of interactions and connections within the family system suggests that when explaining the relationships within the family system, the interpretation that is based on linear causality is abandoned and replaced by circular causality, which is the model of analysis utilized in this research project. The main goals of this research were to compare and contrast family functioning in two geographical locations and cultural contexts and to show statistically significant differences between these two groups, in order to better understand cultural variations and differences that may affect family functioning and ego-resiliency and to provide the different groups with adequate, necessary support services. Research findings: The results revealed statistically significant differences in various dimensions of Family Communication and Flexibility between families of autistic children in California and Poland. With respect to both variables, higher scores were found in the California group. The flexibility results in both groups were defined as flexible. However, in regards to family communication, the result of the California group corresponded to higher standardized scores, whereas those of the group from Poland revealed moderate standardized scores. Conclusions and recommendations: Statistically significant positive correlations were found in the variables of Flexibility and Family Communication between Poland and California. The results of this research are critical, not only from the perspective of scientific development (as similar studies have not been conducted), but also for therapeutic and preventive reasons. They suggest concentrating on preventive activities and aspects that are important for the well-being of the parent as a person, as well as the entire family system, especially the dimensions of communication in families with children with autism spectrum disorder and the ego-resiliency of the parents. However, further research is needed to specifically identify the differences between the groups based on various demographic variables. Additionally, it is important to develop a practical model to support families with autistic children and to address family satisfaction in intervention strategies, as well as to consider the importance of support groups that may improve satisfaction and ego-resiliency within the family system.
