The paper evaluates effectiveness of fire drills for emergency and responding to PSC inspections on board. A brief background about the PSC inspection on fire drills on board is introduced in the beginning. Then the significance of effectiveness evaluation on fire drills is presented. Next, legal ground is discussed on International Conventions, including regulation of related regional group, national maritime laws and rules and Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC). Furthermore, PSC New Inspection Regime (NIR) for Paris MOU and Tokyo MOU are also discussed, and many deficiencies related to fire safety measures found in the PSC inspection are statistically analyzed. More importantly, the paper introduces System Engineering Theory, presents the principle and method of effectiveness evaluation, focuses on the preparation, performance and rehabilitation of fire drill and develops the Criterion of Effectiveness Evaluation. Finally, some suggestions are raised to carry out effectiveness evaluation for emergency and responding to the PSC inspection.

Industrial Radiography is widely used in non-destructive testing (NDT ) in the world. Workers in the sector exposure if incidents happen. The Information System on Occupational Exposure in Medicine, Industry and Research: Industrial Radiography so called ISE MIR-IR was developed by the IAEA as a web-based tool for a regular data collection and analysis of occupational exposure. The system was launched with full function in 2017. It was designed based on the data from an extensive research and results of the worldwide surveys. It assists NDT companies to benchmark their own companies and individual performance against others in the database. NDT companies all around the world are encouraged to participate in the database to enable it to become a worldwide tool for implementing optimization of occupational radiation protection.
Radiografia przemysłowa jest szeroko stosowana w badaniach nieniszczących (NDT ) na świecie. Pracownicy tego sektora w przypadku wystąpienia incydentów mogą być narażeni na niebezpieczeństwo. System Informacji o narażeniu zawodowym w medycynie, przemyśle i badaniach: Radiografia przemysłowa (ang. The Information System on Occupational Exposure in Medicine, Industry and Research: Industrial Radiography) nazwany ISE MIR-IR został opracowany przez IAEA jako internetowe narzędzie do regularnego gromadzenia danych i analizy narażenia zawodowego. System został uruchomiony z pełną funkcjonalnością w 2017 roku. Zaprojektowano go w oparciu o dane pochodzące z obszernych badań i wyników światowych sondaży. Pomaga firmom z branży NDT w porównywaniu własnych i indywidualnych wyników z innymi wynikami w bazie danych. Firmy NDT na całym świecie są zachęcane do uczestnictwa w tworzeniu bazy danych, aby umożliwić jej stanie się światowym narzędziem do wdrażania optymalizacji ochrony przed promieniowaniem zawodowym.

This paper seeks to describe the effect of impact parameters and moisture content on kernel detachment, with the physical parameter of dissipated momentum being introduced to the process of analysing the data. Experiments were carried out on a drop-testing bed, using an accelerometer bound to corn ears to determine the impact parameters. As the impact velocity increased from 3.5 to 6.0 m s-1 at a moisture content of 18.5%, peak acceleration, the integral of acceleration and rebound velocity increased simultaneously, while impact time showed a declining trend. The mass of the detached kernels increased from 5.13 to 13.70 g per corn ear. When the moisture content of the kernels increased from 11.8 to 30.6% with an impact velocity of 5.0 m s-1, the mass of the detached kernels decreased from 12.61 to 7.56 g per corn ear. The dissipated momentum showed homologous trends with that of the detached kernel mass. Furthermore, a model of the interaction effect of impact velocity and moisture content on the mass of the detached kernel was established through full factorialtests. The methods and data may provide theoretical guidance for the design and optimization of deck plates on the corn heads and decrease the incidence of kernel detachment.

Opis:
Based on (RFPA2D-Gasflow) numerical software, the characteristic of mining strata damage and fracture distribution after the mining of protective layer has been analyzed and the coal seam by discharging pressure level and vertical displacement change rule has been studied. Finally the coal seam gas pressure and permeability evolution characteristics after the discharging pressure mining has been concluded. Research results show that as the range of stope expand, the discharged pressure coal seam gas pressure is reduced, and the permeability of coal seam is increased signiificantly. The research result has been applied by the engineering. A lane is arranged in a group of inclined to wear on the length of drilling, extraction discharging pressure gas effect is remarkable, which ensure the safety and efficiency of mining, research results for discharging pressure gas extraction and extraction drilling provides theoretical basis for designing.
Za pomocą oprogramowania numerycznego (RFPA2D-Gasflow) przeprowadzono analizę charakterystyki szczelinowania pokładów węgla oraz zeszczelinowania po eksploatacji warstwy ochronnej, a także zbadano złoże węgla kamiennego na podstawie ciśnienia odprowadzanego gazu i zasady przesunięcia pionowego. Następnie opracowano charakterystykę zmienności ciśnienia i gazoprzepuszczalności złoża węglowego po odprowadzeniu gazu z pokładu. Wyniki badania pokazują, obniżenie ciśnienia gazu odprowadzanego ze złoża węglowego oraz znaczne zwiększenie gazoprzepuszczalności złoża węglowego. Wyniki badania zostały zastosowane w technice inżynierskiej. W pochylni wykonano wyrobisko dla skrócenia wiercenia, co pozwoliło na skuteczniejsze zmniejszenie ciśnienia gazu odprowadzanego podczas wiercenia, a przez to na zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa i wydajności procesu wydobycia gazu. Wyniki badania ujmowania gazu podczas wiercenia stanowią podstawę teoretyczną do tworzenia nowych projektów.

The mineralogical and chemical characteristics of heavy metals in tailings and soils is an imperative for potential ecological risk assessment of metals to environment and heavy metals pollution prevention and control. The lead-zinc tailing and contaminated soil in and near the tailing pond were sampeled from a mine tailing pond in Hunan province (China), in which the chemical composition, phase composition and thermal behavior of tailing and soil were investigated. Furthermore, the petrography of lead-zinc tailing and chemical fractionations of Pb and Zn in the contaminated soil were studied in details. The mineral phases of lead-zinc tailing were galena, pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, quartz and fluorite, as distinguished by the reflected light microscopy and further proofed by the scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive spectrometer under the back scattered electron mode. Chemical fractionations were carried out by the European Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) sequential extraction procedure for Pb and Zn in the soil and the mild acido-soluble (F1), reducible (F2), oxidizable (F3), and residual (F4) fractions were 5.90, 75.24, 4.90 and 13.96% for Pb, and 47.74, 34.06, 9.59 and 8.61% for Zn, respectively. Subsequently, the individual contamination factor (ICF) of Pb and Zn were calculated as 6.16 and 10.61, respectively. The DTPA-available content of Pb and Zn in the contaminated soil were 39.9 and 170.7 mg·kg-1, respectively. The study provided a base for selecting remediation strategies in the studied area.

In this study, the modification mechanism and growth process of Al3(Sc, Zr) particles in as-cast Al-Si-Mg-Cu based alloy with addition of Sc and Zr were systematically investigated. It was found that 0.57 wt-%Sc addition caused a significant refinement in the average grain size of the investigated alloy, which brought about a remarkable transformation in as-cast microstructure, from thick dendritic shape to fine equiaxed structure. A large amount of primary Al3(Sc, Zr) particles with the dimension of around 5-6 μm were also observed within the equiaxed grain. Due to the identical orientation and similar crystal structure between primary Al3(Sc, Zr) particles and α-Al matrix, the primary particles always served as heterogeneous nucleus for the α-Al matrix. In addition, these cusped cubic primary Al3(Sc, Zr) particles showed triangle, star, rhomboid morphologies are generated from sectioning the particle in (111), (100) and (110) planes, respectively. Particularly, the typical eutectic structure which contained odd number-layer (Al3(Sc, Zr)+α-Al+ ... +Al3(Sc, Zr)) was observed within the investigated particles.

An updated reconstruction of the body plan, functional morphology and lifestyle of the arthropod Isoxys curvirostratusis proposed, based on new fossil specimens with preserved soft anatomy found in several localities of the Lower Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstätte. The animal was 2–4 cm long and mostly encased in a single carapace which is folded dorsally without an articulated hinge. The attachment of the body to the exoskeleton was probably cephalic and apparently lacked any well−developed adductor muscle system. Large stalked eyes with the eye sphere consisting of two layers (as corneal and rhabdomeric structures) protrude beyond the anterior margin of the carapace. This feature, together with a pair of frontal appendages with five podomeres that each bear a stout spiny outgrowth, suggests it was raptorial. The following 14 pairs of limbs are biramous and uniform in shape. The slim endopod is composed of more than 7 podomeres without terminal claw and the paddle shaped exopod is fringed with at least 17 imbricated gill lamellae along its posterior margin. The design of exopod in association with the inner vascular (respiratory) surface of the carapace indicates I. curvirostratus was an active swimmer. Morphological comparisons demonstrate that species of Isoxys were diverse in feeding habits and occupied a very broad morphospace, i.e., carapace bivalved or a single shield, the pre−oral limbs antenniform or modified into great appendages, the succeeding endopods slim or stout. This casts doubt on the current taxonomy that assigns all species to a single genus, and on any presumed lifestyle of Isoxys extrapolated to the generic level. Finally, since I. curvirostratus and I. acutangulus carry a pair of great appendages, Isoxys has recently been placed into the great appendage arthropods. Such placement might be inadequate because the homology of the great appendages can not be established.

Copper-ion activation plays a highly important role in cervantite (Sb2O4) flotation. Without metal-ion activation, cervantite cannot be floated by sodium oleate. In this study, flotation tests were conducted to study the effect of Cu2+ on the flotation behaviours of cervantite and quartz (SiO2) as the main gangue mineral. Metal-ion adsorption capacities, zeta potentials, solution chemistry and X-ray photoelectron spectra were analyzed to study the adsorption behavior and mechanism of copper ions and sodium oleate interaction with the minerals surfaces. The results demonstrate that under weakly acidic conditions, cervantite can be flotated and separated from quartz by the addition of copper ions. The reason is that copper ions can be selectively adsorbed on the cervantite surface under weakly acidic conditions, thereby promoting the adsorption of sodium oleate onto the cervantite surface by chemical adsorption. Conversely, copper ions are weakly adsorbed on quartz surfaces below pH 6.1, and sodium oleate cannot be adsorbed on quartz surfaces by chemical adsorption. The hydroxy copper species are integral to the selective activation of cervantite over quartz.

Ultrasound has a wide range of applications in oil sands separation industry due to its green and nopolluting characteristics. The combined ultrasounds technology has been widely used in many industries by virtue of the synergistic effect of cavitation effect; meanwhile, dual-frequency ultrasounds have been reported being used in lotion oil sands technology. Based on this idea, this study focuses on the application of multiple frequency ultrasounds in oil sands separation, and a comparative study has been conducted between the combined ultrasounds systems with the difference in the number of the ultrasound. The results show that the oil production rate of the samples treated by the lotion of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) and assisted by multiple frequency ultrasounds (96%) is significantly higher than that of the single frequency ultrasound (76%); the bigger the number of the ultrasound participating in the combination is, the higher the oil production rate of the oil sands is; the lower the frequency of the ultrasounds employed in the combined system is, the higher the oil production rate is. The optimum treating conditions for tri-frequency ultrasounds assisted technology are as follow: the treating time is 10-15 min, the treating temperature is 20-30°C, the concentration of surfactant in the lotion is 1.5 g/l, and the mass ratio of the lotion to oil sands is 1.8. In short, the use of multiple frequency ultrasounds can improve the oil production rate of oil sands, reduce the energy consumption during the separation process, and reduce the environmental contamination; therefore, multiple frequency ultrasounds assisted oil sands separation technology is a promising technology for oil sands resources exploitation with high efficiency.
