Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono układy napędowe prądu przemiennego dla wirówek cukrowniczych. Opisano następujące układy: układ typu CSI - 400/580 firmy ELPRO AG, przeznaczony do zasilania, regulacji prędkości obrotowej silnika klatkowego oraz do sterowania procesem technologicznym wirówki; układ czterech wirówek pracujących w połączeniu równoległym, falowniki zasilane ze wspólnej szyny DC. Za pomocą metody punktowej dokonano oceny ekonomicznej układów elektromaszynowych dla wirówek cukrowniczych. Wyżej ocenione zostały napędy prądu przemiennego niż napędy prądu stałego.
The paper presents AC drive systems for centrifugal separators used in the sugar industry. The following drive systems are described: - the CSI/400/580 system of ELPRO AG, intended for power supply and speed control of a 315 kW squirrelcage motor driving a cyclic centrifuge as well as for controlling the technological process of the centrifuge; - a system of four centrifuges working in a parallel connection as well as of inverters feeding centrifuge drive motors, supplied with power from a common DC bus. An economic evaluation of electro-machine systems for centrifugal separators used in the sugar industry was carried out using the point-by-point method. The AC drives have been evaluated as better than the DC ones.

Opis:
François Guizot was the most important collaborator of king Louis Philippe, a clever political thinker and a brilliant historian. But finally, in 1848, all his political conceptions and ideas failed completely. This article tries to explain why this happened. François Guizot was one of the most – or even the most – influential French politicians of the 1830s and 1840s. Especially after 1840, when he became the Minister of Foreign Affairs, he was in fact the most powerful member of the French cabinet. He was also a clever and sagacious political thinker, one the leaders of the liberal opposition against the Bourbon government of Charles X. But, over time, his liberalism became more and more conservative, and his government – impervious to the changes, new tendencies and ideas of the French society. Guizot’s foreign policy changed in the same direction – from the ‘entente cordiale’ with Great Britain, based on the liberal character of both countries, to a dynastic vision of international relations, looking for an alliance with the conservative court of Vienna. Therefore Guizot could not have foreseen the revolution of 1848, and when it came, he was absolutely unable to understand it. His political career collapsed completely and irremediably.

The author of this article showed the differences between two baroque ego-documents of prominent politicians: the ‘Travel Diary’ of Pylyp Orlyk, hetman of Ukraine and ‘Diaries. Memories ’of Francis II Rákóczi, Prince of Transylvania. In the article is shown the family and love life of both personas. An interesting point of Rákóczi’s ego-documents is also his love for Elżbieta Sieniawska, carefully hidden in the pages of his ego-documents.

In Poland, the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century is most often associated with Martin Luther. However, together with Luther, the reforms were introduced into the Church by Ulrich Zwingli in Zurich, while Philip Melanchthon, Luther’s friend and collaborator, was a very important theologian in Germany. It was him who determined the ultimate doctrinal and organizational form of Lutheranism. Melanchthon was a theologian and a humanist, the reformer of German education, author of numerous textbooks widely used in all over Renaissance Europe, including Poland and Lithuania. One of Melanchthon’s major textbooks was Loci communes (1521). In this book, Melanchthon made an attempt to systematize evangelical doctrines. Consequently, it is considered the first evangelical theology textbook and, at the first time, the first work on Protestant dogmas.

The article focuses on an outstanding Polish publisher and ethnographer – Philip Sulimierski (1843–1885). Although trained as a mathematician, he was a traveler at heart and edited the magazine “Wędrowiec”. It was the first illustrated tourism and travel magazine in Poland. This 19th century-magazine was so original for its time that the format of “National Geographic” was based on it. Sulimierski was also the creator and editor of the “Dictionary of the Polish Kingdom and other Slavic Countries”, which to this day remains an invaluable resource for geographers, ethnologists and historians.

In the essay the author analyses the problematics of genocide based on correspondence between Filip David and Mirko Kovač Kiedy kwitnie zło. Książka listów 1992–1995 (When evilflourishes. A book of letters 1992–1995) to later juxtapose it with studies on Shoah. She ponders the generational perspective of people whose lives were tarnished by the Nazi-Germany occupation (Filip David – born 1940, Mirko Kovač – born 1938). The article most of all aims at reconstructing the stances of the two authors of letters and showing genocide as a realm of incessant discussion, vague affects, unsystematized knowledge. The author undertakes an attempt to reconstruct only some of the topics and contexts accompanying the issues discussed in David’s and Kovač’s letters, particularly: the soul-searing descriptions of the Bosnian War of 1992–1995. She shows that the language facet of violence proves to be a challenge to reflecting on literature in the correspondence between the two intellectuals. When faced with the disintegration of hitherto social order in the former Yugoslavia, the nationalist discourse, as social studies and research on genocide suggest, prepares the ground for activation of violent behaviours, justifies them, and plays a key role in fomenting the genocidal repression. As a result of the said processes, the authorities create and reinforce nations’ cultural self-images, tighten the control over ethnic purity of collective identity,instigate conflicts between neighbours based on “the blood and soil myth,” cherry-pick the xenophobic discourse of the past, and force through with ethnical interpretations of culture.
