Opis:
1989 was a dividing line in the history of Central & Eastern European countries. Not only political systems were re-organized, but also social and cultural relations had to be revisited. It is valid to education as well because it welcomed new structures, subjects and philosophies, very often in new educational environments. In Hungary, language education was in a special situation: due to the changing social demands it had to face new challenges with the introduction of foreign languages not widely taught up to this time. The three pillars of the study are the analysis of the shift from a socialist regime into capitalism and its reflection in language education, the description of the appearance of different languages in public and higher education, and the introduction of new methods and synergies applied in the new era of FLT (foreign language teaching). Illustrations of present results are provided from the two far ends of education, namely, pre-school education and kindergarten teacher-training.

Opis:
The article analyses main issues in the present-day SLA and FLT against the background of those aspects of the past of language education which are not particularly well covered by group memory. Emphasis is given to parts forgotten and reinvented, ideas distorted and fields revisited. An attempt is made to examine the role of past and present in shaping the outline of future trends in language policy, language teaching and teacher education.

Opis:
Project is one of the most stimulating and motivating form of working in group, so therefore it should be considered as an important element of a FLT. To prove this statement, it was conducted a project with students of Applied Linguistics, whose main idea was connected with the description of an inside and outside perspective of the representative paintings from the German speaking countries. The results of this initiative were fertile for both, lecturer and students and they will be described in the presented paper.

Opis:
Cancer is one the most common health issues worldwide, with cancer-related mortality of 9.5 million in 2018, with an expectation to become 29.5 by 2040. Among others, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is common among older people. FLT3 mutations are one of the most common genetic aberrations found in Acute Myeloid Leukemia and are associated with poor prognosis. Herein, we attempt to identify natural compounds as potential candidates to treat AML by targeting the FLT3 kinase domain using in silico approaches. The COCONUT database, which contains 407,270 natural compounds, was HTVS against the FLT3 kinase domain active site, and promising compounds were subject to molecular docking. Finally, frontier compounds were validated further using molecular dynamic simulation. In total, ten compounds were identified with docking scores higher than Quizartinib (-11.606 kcal/mol), with the best three compounds showing a docking score of -18.052, -15.772, and -16.767 kcal, respectively, and compound 2 showing excellent stability in molecular dynamic simulation.

Opis:
The article focuses on the process of developing foreign language teaching (FLT) competence. Following Grucza, as this process is considered to be continuous, nobody can completely and absolutely acquire FLT competence (F. Grucza 2000, p. 28). This means that we can only talk about more or less competent teachers, but not about teachers who have fully developed this competence or who have not developed it at all. Nevertheless, in exploring the process of FLT competence development, it is argued that this competence is one of learned dispositions and, as such, it can be acquired through education or self-improvement.

Ultrasonic velocities and densities of the binary liquid mixtures of benzene with 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol and 3-butanol at 303.15 to 318.15 K, over the entire composition range were measured. The theoretical values of ultrasonic velocity were evaluated using the Nomoto’s Relation (NR), Ideal Mixture Relation (IMR), Free Length Theory (FLT) and Collision Factor Theory (CFT). The validity of these relations and theories were tested by comparing the computed sound velocities with experimental values. Further, the molecular interaction parameter (á) was computed by using the experimental and the theoretical ultrasonic velocity values. The variation of this parameter with composition of the mixtures has been discussed in terms of molecular interaction in these mixtures.

The purpose of the article is to show the role and place of colloquial language in contemporary Russian, to demonstrate the influence of the Internet on this particular language system, as well as to present the necessity of acquiring a colloquial lexicon by students, which seems to be an indispensable factor in taking an active part in real communication in Russian (including using Internet-based resources). The long-term experience of the author in teaching practical Russian as a foreign language at the university level enables her to analyse examples of Internet resources that can be useful in searching for, describing and revising colloquial lexical items. They may be incorporated into teaching as well as self-studying. Furthermore, the paper offers sample linguistic and communicative exercises that can be used in forming the ability of distinguishing and practical use of colloquial style in Russian.

Opis:
The paper aims to show how to engage students attending an online language course in various activities which by stimulating reflection enhance the learning process and result in better learning outcomes. By blending cognitivist, constructivist, constructionist and behavioural ideas, course developers and tutors can produce materials and use methods which satisfy the varied needs of adults who want to improve their writing skills. Such a blend leads to a unique design, which can be achieved by tools available in a virtual learning environment. Course participants will be more adequately prepared for writing genuine texts in the future through use of such activities as working with authentic resources integrated with different tasks and assignments to stimulate reflection; studying under the supervision and guidance of the tutor; participating in collaborative projects to promote learner autonomy; developing new knowledge through meaning-making discussions; doing peer review as well as summative, formative assessment, and self-assessment. Experience of these ways of working will help the participants to eventually become self-regulated, lifelong learners.

The facilities of Internet along with computer programs, audio and video devices, interactive whiteboards and telecommunications are considered. Special attention is given to the peculiarities of telecommunication projects; the example of telecommunication project realization is represented. The advantages and disadvantages of distance language learning are considered. Besides, some diffi culties that students and teachers come across during ICT-supported language education are also discussed. Key words: information and communication technologies (ICT), foreign language teaching and learning (FLT/FLL), computer programs, interactive whiteboards, Internet-based (telecommunication) projects, distance learning.
