    Opis:
    Polish community in Argentina – along with the community in Brazil – is one of the most numerous Polishorigin communities in Latin America. Seventy years have passed since the migratory processes between Poland and Argentina practically came to a halt, and the temporal distance since the arrival of the last group of Poles to this country is now reflected in the gradual and inevitable disappearance of the majority of these immigrants. Today, their adult descendants, who were born (many in exogamic families), raised and educated in Argentina, continue with a variety of activities that attempt, in one way or another, to keep the Polish culture alive. These activities, however, do not take shape in a vacuum or independently from the context surrounding particular groups; on the contrary, they are constructed in constant interaction with the receiving society and with the rest of the groups. In this article, based on the specific case of the Polish community in Buenos Aires and in the Misiones Province (Argentina), we intend to analyze the particularities

    La comunidad polaca en Argentina es resultado de movimientos poblacionales a gran escala, iniciados en el siglo XIX y finalizados en la segunda mitad del XX. Han pasado ya varias décadas desde que prácticamente se detuvieron los procesos migratorios entre ambos países. Pe-se a la distancia temporal que separa la llegada del último grupo inmigrante, algunos de sus descendientes, que nacieron, crecieron y fueron educados en Argentina, siguen conservando, de una u otra forma, los lazos que les vinculan con el lugar de nacimiento de sus antepasados. El presente artículo, basándose en diferentes perspectivas teóricas, analiza cómo, en el contexto actual, los descendientes de inmigrantes polacos perciben su identidad étnica, cuáles son las particularidades de los lazos, reales o simbólicos que mantienen con el país de origen de sus antepasados y qué es lo que les motiva a la hora de conservar esta vinculación.
    The Polish community in Argentina is the result of large-scale population movements that be-gan in the 19th century and completed in the second half of the 20th. Several decades have pas-sed since that migration between the two countries stopped. Despite the time elapsed since the arrival of the last immigrant group, some of their descendants, who were born, grew up and were educated in Argentina, still maintain, in one way or another, the ties that bind them to the birthplace of their ancestors. This article, using different theoretical perspectives, analyzes how, in the current context, the descendants of Polish immigrants perceive their ethnic identity, what the characteristics of the links, real or symbolic, they have with the country of their ancestors are and what motivates them to preserve this linkage.

    The thesis of a symbolic significance of space for a particular community underscores the integrating role of place as a cultural value. The author analyses the connection between the space of French suburbs and the identity of their inhabitants, especially those of immigrant extraction. Therefore, she refers to selected texts of the rich output of French hip-hop artists. She places the pieces in the context of the responds given the French of immigrant roots surveyed in 2003. The analysis of the works of the French rappers demonstrates that their texts express a strong identity with the place of origin and residence built on cultural separateness and, simultaneously, on a strong feeling of social homogeneity of the quarter, which is an additional integrating factor.

    The goal of this article is to present the main factors that form Polish national identity or Masurian ethnic peculiarity of the descendants of the Polish immigrants from Masuria who moved at the end of the 19th century to Western Siberia and nowadays live in two villages located in the Krasnoyarsk Krai and in the Republic of Khakassia. The author examines such features as the maintenance of their specific dialect and some elements of the original folk tradition, especially of wedding customs, as well as the collective or individual historical memory which goes back to the roots, but also includes events of different periods of the history of the USSR. Special attention is drawn to the religious factor (conversion from Lutheranism, which was original confession of the Polish immigrants from Masuria, to Baptism).

    The present paper is aimed to analyze how certain concepts of political identity are translated into poeticsof identity in contemporary Spanish narrative. The analysis covers four novels published since 1998,written by Spanish authors and which achieved high rates of sales and positive critical recognition. Thestudy was not limited to specific immigrant groups in order to reflect a variety of experiences and politicalpositions represented in the texts. The paper is a study of the image and functions of immigrantcharacters in selected Spanish novels of the last three decades: Háblame, musa, de aquel varón (1998) by Dulce Chacón, Ventajas de viajar en tren (2000) by Antonio Orejudo, Cosmofobia (2007) by Lucía Etxebarria and En la orilla (2013) by Rafael Chirbes. Sociologists and psychologists indicate three main classes of negative attitudes towards immigrants (citizen insecurity, threat to cultural identity and competitiveness in obtaining resources). Within this context the article aims to determine to what extent the literary representations of immigrant characters constitute reproductions or transgressions of culturally prefabricated images of the Other and explores the different narrative and ideological functions these characters play. The paper also studies the presence of discourses that support social exclusion of immigrants and the means of subverting them.

    O presente artigo considera a contradição jus sanguinis versus jus solis. De uma parte, o fato de que o processo imigratório e a integração do estrangeiro na sociedade brasileira foram caracterizados pela postura dos defensores do direito de sangue, notável, por exemplo, na construção de uma ideologia teuto-brasileira, fundada na „teuto-brasilianidade” – o Deutschbrasilianertum. De outra parte, o embate foi demarcado pelos ideólogos de uma nacionalidade e cidadania brasileiras alicerçadas no direito de solo. Num panorama bem amplo, o contexto é o da “Grande Imigração” (1850 a 1939); entretanto, se destaca o período compreendido pelas décadas de 1890-1900-1910. A partir das indicações fornecidas pelas memórias de um imigrante e utilizando como fontes registros de batismo de uma comunidade luterana, o objetivo deste artigo é ensaiar análises fundamentadas nos processos de nominação em três gerações de “teuto-brasileiros”, tendo como fonte os registros de batismo da Comunidade Evangélica Luterana de Curitiba.
    This article considers the contradiction between jus sanguinis and jus solis. On the one hand, the fact that the process of immigration and integration of the foreig¬ners in Brazilian society was characterized by the position of the defenders of the right of blood, important, for example, for the construction of a German-Brazilian ideology, founded on “German-Brazilianness” – or Deutschbrasilianertum. On the other hand, the clash was marked by the ideologues of one nationality and Brazilian citizenship grounded in the right of soil. In a very broad overview, context is the “Great Migration” (1850-1939), however, with particular attention given to the period of 1890-1900-1910. Basing on the memoirs of an immigrant and using as sources baptismal records of a Lutheran community in Curitiba. This article analyzes the processes of name-giving of three generations of “German-Brazilians”.
