The aiticle deals with a phenomenon of a stylistic poetic speech - original epithet. The author examines an essence of original epithets and its substantial signs and analyses semantics of unusual epithets structures. The research confirms that an original epithet is a compulsory phenomenon in the poetic speech and the works of folklore. The author emphasises the fact that an exposure and decoding of original epithets is a difficult process, requiring an individual approach.

It is emphasized that time and space influence structural and storyline axes of the book. Coexistence of these two layers (life and memories of Ales Runevich) was conditioned by the structure and storyline, and enabled to show the main heroe’s mental experiences.

This article deals with the peculiarities of the concept lacuna from the perspective of theoretical considerations. Based on theoretical studies of lacunarity, the author discusses issues related to the phenomenon of linguistic and cultural lacunae, including their sources and types. She also presents the main features of linguistic lacunae and their classifications, and analyses factors which have an impact on the emergence of lacunary phraseological units and their functioning. The study outlines the criteria of lacunarity and a method for identifying phraseological lacunae. It also considers the status of the lacuna and its functioning in areal phraseology, and examines the possibility of applying the theory of lacunarity to the areal phraseological system of the Ukrainian continuum. The study is focused on etymological analysis of phraseological lacunae and their origins. Lacunae are known to constitute a semantic vacuum which functions in the modes of language, speech and speech behaviour. As demonstrated, overcoming the problems of linguistic continuum requires the knowledge not only of the direct (primary) meaning of words and phrases, but also of their place and functions in a given sociocultural community where they are used, and where dialect is the actual means of communication. The article also identifies the main dimensions of the phraseological system in focus: the themes of the meanings of phraseological units, the nature of their figurative basis, and the way these two aspects are interrelated.
W artykule omówiono specyfikę pojęcia lakuna (luka) z punktu widzenia podejmowanych na jego temat rozważań teoretycznych. W oparciu o prace teoretyczne poświęcone lakunarności autorka omawia rozmaite aspekty zjawiska luk językowych i kulturowych, ich źródła i typy. Artykuł uwzględnia główne cechy i istniejące klasyfikacje luk językowych, a także poddaje analizie czynniki wpływające na pojawianie się i funkcjonowanie luk frazeologicznych. Określono w nim ponadto kryteria lakunarności i metodę wykrywania luk frazeologicznych. Scharakteryzowano miejsce luki i jej funkcjonowanie w arealnych związkach frazeologicznych oraz możliwość zastosowania teorii lakunarności w badaniach nad arealnym systemem frazeologicznym ukraińskiego continuum. Szczególną uwagę zwraca autorka na etymologiczną analizę luk frazeologicznych i na przyczyny ich występowania. Jak wiadomo, luki są semantyczną próżnią, która funkcjonuje w modusach języka, mowy i zachowania językowego. Udowodniono, że przezwyciężenie problemów continuum językowego wymaga znajomości nie tylko bezpośredniego znaczenia słów i zwrotów, ale także ich miejsca i roli w danej wspólnocie społeczno-kulturowej, w której gwara jest rzeczywistym środkiem komunikacji. W artykule ponadto określono podstawowe wymiary omawianego systemu frazeologicznego, a więc tematykę znaczeń frazeologizmów, charakter ich podstawy figuratywnej i sposób, w jaki te wymiary są ze sobą powiązane.

Аналізу мікратапанімічных адзінак адзначанай тэрыторыі прысвечана адзіная навуковая публікацыя Р. А. Філіповіч, дзе вывучаюцца мікратапонімы в. Куль Уздзенскага раёна. Матэрыял для даследавання сабраны аўтарам артыкула ад інфарматараў – жыхароў даследаванай тэрыторыі і прааналізаваны ў структурным і семантычным плане. Вылучаюцца мікратапонімы адонімнага і адапелятыўнага паходжання. Адтапонімныя найменні ўтвараюцца шляхам ад’ектывацыі ад назваў вёсак і шляхам прамога перанясення назвы больш буйнога аб’екта на больш дробны. Адантрапонімныя адзінкі ўтвараюцца звычайна ад прозвішча, імя або мянушкі чалавека, на тэрыторыі якога знаходзіцца геаграфічны аб’ект. Мікратапонімы адапелятыўнага паходжання часта матываваныя знешнім выглядам або ўнутранымі характарыстыкамі геаграфічных аб’ектаў; асаблівасцямі прыроднага асяроддзя; аб’ектамі, што ўзвышаюцца над тэрыторыяй; адлюстроўваюць эканамічныя працэсы і захоўваюць памяць пра гістарычныя падзеі, заняткі людзей.
The question of necessity to preserve the names of small geographical sites has emerged in Belarusian linguistics. The main purpose of the article is to identify and analyse the microtoponyms of the Kamenkovsky Village Council as part of the toponymic continuum of the Uzda region. One scientific publication by R. A Filippovich is devoted to the analysis of the microtoponymic units of marked territory, where microtoponyms of the village of Kul of Uzda district are studied. The author of the article collected the material for the study by talking to the residents of the studied area and analysed it in structural and semantic terms. Microtoponyms of onym and appellative origin are distinguished. Toponymic names are formed by adjectivation from the names of villages and by direct transferring of the name of a larger site to a smaller one. Anthroponymic units are usually formed from the full name or nickname of the person on whose territory a specific geographical site is located. Microtoponyms of apellative origin are often motivated by the appearance or internal characteristics of geographical items; features of the natural environment; structures towering over the territory; they also reflect economic processes and keep the memory of historical events, people’s occupations, etc.

This essay discusses the state of collegiate choral art in the western region of the Ukraine – Volyn, in particular. The meaning of: (1) sociocultural continuum, (2) authorships of performing school, (3) the “Ukrainian choir school”, (4) the “chamber choir model”, and (5) the Apollonian and Dionysian prototype in conducting, are defined and subsequently discussed. In preparation for this article, the interviews with the leading conductors were carried out and the responses from the audience were compiled and analysed by the author in this paper. Additionally, the article investigates the professional activities, methodological traditions and festival participation of two choirs: “Oranta” and Chorus at Lutsk St. Peter and Paul Church.

The article examines the change of the unaccented vowel о > a in Bulgarian dialects of the Rhodope region. Attention is drawn to the changes of the unaccented vowel e, which in Eastern Slavic languages are regarded parallel to acaivismus. The article offers an analysis of cases of acaivismus in north-western Bulgarian dialects and in the dialects of Prizren in the Republic of Kosovo.
Статията разглежда проявите на преход на неударената гласна о > а в българските диалекти от района на Родопите. Обръща се внимание на промените, на които се подлага неударената гласна е, които в източните славянски езици се разглеждат като успоредни с акавизма. Анализират се случаите на акавизъм в северозападните български говори и в диалектите от района на Призренско в Република Косово.

The article is devoted to the problem of time and space as the essential factors of the world model created in The Master and Margarita, the famous novel written by Mikhail Bulgakov. As many critics has already noticed, there are three basic space dimensions in the considering work of prose – Jerusalem, Moscow and the mysterious world of Woland. As the matter of fact the core problem of research concerns the latter. The world from which Woland is coming is presented as a kind of inter-world between the other two, on the one hand, and as the objective Universe embracing them, creating in this way the unity of three dimensions, on the other hand. Moreover, in this piece of work, there has been made an attempt to recode the Woland’s world by analysing the motifs of it through the symbols and themes of gnosis.

Opis:
Przestrzeń polskich miast i terenów przylegających do ich granic podlega stałym przekształceniom. Po przemianach ustrojowych, które zaszły w Polsce na przełomie lat 80. i 90. XX w., nasileniu uległy procesy suburbanizacyjne. Nierzadko można spotkać się z twierdzeniem, że suburbanizacja ma charakter niekontrolowany. Nie do końca należy się z tym zgodzić, ponieważ suburbanizacja jest efektem świadomych decyzji administracyjnych oraz wynikiem realizacji zapisów dokumentów planistycznych. W niniejszym artykule rozpatrzono treści uchwał i rysunków planów miejscowych obowiązujących w pięciu gminach powiatu wrocławskiego graniczących z Wrocławiem, tj.: Kobierzycach, Kątach Wrocławskich, Czernicy, Siechnicach, Długołęce. Ustalenia planów skonfrontowano z aktualnym stanem zabudowy mieszkaniowej w tych jednostkach. Wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz wykazały, że w przypadku realizacji zapisów z miejscowych planów zagospodarowania przestrzennego suburbanizacja w południowej i wschodniej części strefy podmiejskiej Wrocławia będzie się nasilać. Będzie to skutkowało m.in. trwałymi przekształceniami w strukturach funkcjonalno-przestrzennych poszczególnych miejscowości oraz zmianami w hierarchii układu osadniczego poszczególnych gmin.
Polish cities and their suburban zones are constantly changing. The process of suburbanization along borders of polish cities has been started since the beginning of 90s. On the one hand suburbanization could be considered as an uncontrolled process but on the other side there are several points against such a statement. One of them is the fact that suburbanization is an effect of spatial decisions made by local authorities. The following article examines housing decisions from local spatial management plans which were adopted by five municipalities located in Wroclaw district: Kobierzyce, Kąty Wrocławskie, Czernica, Siechnice and Długołęka. Planned housing development were compared to existing housing development in spatial and statistical context. The results let answer the question if the municipalities support suburbanization process consciously by their spatial decisions.

The electronic quasi-bound state in the continuum concept is explored in an InGaAs/InAlAs heterostructure to create a voltage-tunable dual-colour quantum Bragg mirror detector. This heterostructure is based on one main quantum well embedded between two different superlattices. By bandgap engineering, each superlattice gives rise to quasi-bound states in the continuum with a preferential direction for electron extraction. Due to these states, the photovoltaic photocurrent presents a dual-colour response, one in a positive direction at 340 meV (3.6 µm), and one in a negative direction at 430 meV (2.9 µm). The simultaneous dual-colour detection can be switched to a single-colour detection (340 meV or 430 meV) by applying a bias voltage. At 77 K, the specific detectivity for simultaneous dual-colour is 2.5·10⁸ Jones, while the single-colour detectivities are 2.6·10⁹ Jones at +2.0 V and 7.7·10⁸ Jones at -1.6 V for 340 meV and 430 meV, respectively.

In this paper, an attempt was made to develop the continuum orthotropic model of tensegrity structures. A basic four-module tensegrity grid built from modified Quadruplex modules was proposed. A procedure called the energy equivalency method was adopted. The basis of this approach is the assumption that the finite element strain energy of a deformed tensegrity truss system contains the same energy as its continuum counterpart. Next, the six-parameter shell theory was used and closed forms for maximum displacements were obtained. Finally, in order to fill the gap in the existing literature, the continuum model was validated – the displacements were compared with displacements obtained from a discrete nonlinear model (the finite element method). The continuum model of tensegrity is a simple tool for analyzing large beam-like structures, plate-like structures and plate strips. It is important in case when discrete modeling becomes too tedious for the analysis. Another point is that many commercial software programs cannot analyze structures characterized by mechanisms. The finding of this work can also be useful for modeling metamaterials whose topology is based on the concept of tensegrity.
