Opis:
The effects of the coexistence of Controlling and other management methods (benchmarking, BPM, BPR, BSC, Competency-based Management, CRM, ERP, KM, LM, Outsourcing, Six Sigma, TQM) have been analysed. The complexity and dynamics of modern management systems in fact require simultaneous and/or sequential application of many concepts and methods of management. Controlling is a comprehensive method with an interdisciplinary character, which acts as an integrating plane for many methods and techniques. The coexistence of controlling with other management methods depends on the type of relationship between controlling and these methods. In the main, however, coexistence should be beneficial for an organization. Theoretical concepts on the relations between controlling and other methods are thus empirically tested by analysing the effect of using selected management methods, both in conjunction with controlling, as well as separately (business, efficiency, management, social and environmental effects). One-Way ANOVA was used based on a sample of 167 Polish organizations.

The article analyzes three categories: co-existence, co-responsibility and interdependence in the context of contemporary discussions about the role of social pedagogy in building local communities. New possible approaches arise while using these concepts for addressing contemporary conditions of the communities which result in new tasks of education. There are analysed also the consequences of the transformation from the previous rather static (territorial) view of local communities, that had the aim to root people in existing social structures, towards more dynamic, open and diverse spaces. They are not considered only as physical places anymore but as new local relations that are being developed, based on not stable, however increasingly popular forms of sharing experiences. For these changes the studied concepts match the new realities and in consequence demand pedagogical considerations.

Opis:
The coexistence of anti-synchronization and synchronization in chaotic systems is investigated. A novel algorithm is proposed to determine the variables of the master system that should anti-synchronize with corresponding variables of the slave system. Control strategies that guarantee the coexistence of synchronization and anti-synchronization in the unified chaotic system are presented; while numerical simulations are employed to validate and illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This artistic research was a one-year Master Performing Public Space program at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg, Netherlands. Based on concepts of coexistence between nonhumans and humans, it creates new narratives with the models of utopia, symbiocene, empathy. The author, while observing a community of free-roaming cats, co-created a series of interspecies communication and utopian experiments with humans and cats. The work is inspired by the author’s close intertwining with nonhumans and continues her artistic practice based in anthrozoology. It exemplifies artistic co-creation with nonhumans, more-than-human public space geography and the potential of artistic research as a scientific discipline.

Wprowadzenie. Współczesne uobecnianie i różnicowanie się kultur zdecydowanie umiejscawia człowieka na ich stykach. Tym samym pogranicza kulturowe stają się miejscami znaczącymi, ze specyficznymi dla nich przestrzeniami, w których dokonują się procesy doświadczania różnic kulturowych, identyfikacji kulturowej, konstruowania własnej tożsamości oraz wypracowywania strategii współistnienia. Na znaczeniu zyskują zatem filary współistnienia w procesie międzykulturowej integracji społeczeństwa wielokulturowego. Cel. Celem artykułu jest określenie filarów współistnienia zróżnicowanej narodowo społeczności funkcjonującej na starym pograniczu kulturowym. W szczególności – przesłanek ich konceptualizacji przez młode pokolenie wywodzące się z różnych grup narodowych, wchodzące ze sobą w bezpośrednie relacje w środowisku lokalnym oraz doświadczające w swej codzienności różnic kulturowych na styku kultur. Materiały i metody. Wykładni teoretycznej kluczowych dla zaprezentowanej problematyki zagadnień dokonano w oparciu o paradygmat współistnienia, kategorię międzykulturowości oraz teorię poczucia wspólnoty. Materiał badawczy zgromadzono natomiast w wyniku zastosowania metody sondażu diagnostycznego, a jego analizy dokonano przy zastosowaniu dwuczynnikowej analizy wariancji. Wyniki i wnioski. W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz wyłonione zostały cztery filary współistnienia na starym pograniczu kultur: filar kulturowo-tożsamościowy, filar aksjologii pogranicza, filar poczucia wspólnotowości oraz filar międzykulturowej obywatelskości. Filary te – ze specyficznymi dla każdego z nich atrybutami – wysycają wzajemnie przenikające się przestrzenie kulturowej identyfikacji – narodową i ponadnarodową – dając asumpt do kształtowania się wielowymiarowej tożsamości oraz międzykulturowej integracji społeczeństwa wielokulturowego.
Introduction. Contemporary presence and differentiation of cultures places the human at the crossroads of cultures. Thus, cultural borderlands become meaningful places with their own specific areas, where the processes of experiencing cultural differences, cultural identification, constructing one’s own identity and working out strategies of coexistence take place. Therefore, the pillars of coexistence in the process of intercultural integration of multicultural society are of great importance. Objective. The aim of the article is to determine the pillars of coexistence of a nationally diverse community functioning on the traditional cultural borderland. In particular, it concerns the premises of their conceptualization by the young generation originating from different national groups, entering direct relations with each other in the local environment and experiencing in their everyday life cultural differences at the cultural crossroads. Materials and methods. The theoretical interpretation of the issues crucial for the presented problem was based on the paradigm of coexistence, the category of interculturality, and the theory of a sense of community. The research material was collected using the method of diagnostic survey, and its analysis was performed with the application of two-factor analysis of variance. Results and conclusions. As a result of the conducted analyses, four pillars of coexistence on the old cultural borderland were identified: the cultural-identity pillar, the borderland axiology pillar, the sense of community pillar, and the intercultural citizenship pillar. These pillars, with specific attributes for each of them, saturate the mutually interpenetrating spaces of cultural identification - national and transnational - giving rise to the formation of a multidimensional identity and the cross-cultural integration of multicultural society.

The present paper briefly surveys the developmental lines along which Polish customary and statutory legal systems have evolved. Emphasis is placed on the time period up until the Third Partition of Poland. Originally, Polish law formed a customary system. However, in the course of centuries, this system was partially modified by statutory law, the statutes being first the creation of the monarchy and later that of the parliament. Customary law, however, remained predominant due to the power of the Catholic Church, as well as Poles’ reluctance to abide by Roman law. Between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries, customary law began being compiled into various collections. At the same time, statutory law began to appear, for instance, in the form of royal privileges for the nobility, sometimes issued in consultation with a large body of the monarch’s advisors assembled in so-called colloquia. The latter, as the proper place for the monarch to adopt statutory rules, laid the foundation for future parliamentary structures. Thus, customary and statutory law coexisted in Poland during this time period. Land law, on the other hand, was overwhelmingly customary in nature even in the fifteenth century. Then, in the sixteenth century, attempts were made to replace the custom with a codified land law system. The statute frequently performed a complementary role vis-à-vis the custom and supplemented principles contained therein. In some cases, however, the statutory law would contradict older practice and tradition, thereby introducing new norms. In the sixteenth century, when regular parliaments (Sejms) began to fully function, the old ius ducale, which once allowed the monarch to intervene in the substance of customary law, ceased to exist. Additionally, the nobility, who controlled Sejm activities, showed no real intention of intervening in the custom. Ultimately, during the mid-sixteenth century, the legislative nature of customary norms ceased to be questioned. Two old Polish institutions – life annuity between husband and wife and the securing of a loan by mortgage – exemplify the predominant role of the custom over the statute. This tendency is particularly evident in penal law, homicide being a prime example. Statutory law, on the other hand, was more successful in the area of procedure. However, it is possible to encounter the same tendency as in the aforementioned institutions of private and penal laws, an example being the old Polish possessory trial. The coexistence of the custom and the statute in the Polish legal system is supported by a long-lasting tradition, the role of the custom being not entirely eliminated even today.

Sawanny zajmują ok. 20% lądowej powierzchni Ziemi. W tym ekosystemie korony drzew są na tyle oddzielone od siebie nawzajem, że do podłoża dociera wystarczająco dużo światła, aby utrzymywała się równomierna warstwa traw. Takie długotrwałe współistnienie traw i drzew, czyli brak konwersji do łąki lub lasu, jest możliwe dzięki różnym czynnikom. Uważa się, że najważniejsze z nich to powtarzające się pożary, obfitość pory deszczowej oraz uszczuplanie warstwy roślinnej przez roślinożerców i działalność człowieka. Większość dotychczasowych modeli koegzystencji traw i drzew jest deterministyczna, jeżeli już przyjmuje się stochastyczne występowanie pożarów lub deszczu, to zazwyczaj w bardzo uproszczonej formie, a analiza jest przeprowadzana numerycznie.W tym artykule wprowadzamy uproszczony model, składający się z układu równań różniczkowych, opisujących wzrost traw i drzew w czasie oraz procesu stochastycznego, odpowiadającego za losowe pojawianie się pożarów. Analizujemy ten proces, korzystając z metod teorii półgrup liniowych, co pozwala nam pokazać, że startując z dowolnego rozkładu początkowego biomasy traw i drzew, po odpowiednio długim czasie rozkład tych biomas się stabilizuje. Istnieje jedyny (absolutnie ciągły względem dwuwymiarowej miary Lebesgue'a) taki rozkład stacjonarny. Planujemy rozbudować zaproponowany model o~dodatkowe czynniki środowiskowe wymienione wcześniej oraz konkurencję o~zasoby pomiędzy trawami a sadzonkami drzew. Ponadto podobne uwzględnienie stochastycznej natury występowania pożarów można uwzględnić w~modelowaniu innych zjawisk przyrodniczych jak związek pomiędzy pożarami lasów a populacją żywiących się korą sosen chrząszczy.   
Tree-grass coexistence in savanna ecosystems depends strongly on environmental disturbances out of which crucial is fire. Most modeling attempts in the literature lack stochastic approach to fire occurrences which is essential to reflect their unpredictability. Existing models that actually include stochasticity of fire are usually analyzed only numerically. We introduce minimalistic model of tree-grass coexistence where fires occur according to stochastic process. We use the tools of linear semigroup theory to provide more careful mathematical analysis of the model. Essentially we show that there exists a unique stationary distribution of tree and grass biomasses.

The paper presents study of a pseudo-magnetic levitation system (pseudo-maglev) dedicated for energy harvesting. The idea rely on motion of a pseudo-levitating magnet in a coil’s terminal. The study based on real prototype harvester system, which in the pendulum dynamic vibration absorber is applied. For some parameters, the stability loss caused by the period doubling bifurcation is detected. The coexistence of two stable solutions, one of which is much better for energy harvesting is observed. The influence of the pseudo-maglev parameters on the recovered current and stability of the periodic solutions is presented in detail. The obtained results show, that the best energy recovery occurs for the high pseudo-maglev stiffness and close to the coil resistance. The amplitude’s excitation, the load resistances and the coupling coefficient strongly influence on the system’s response.

Mediation is proving to be an effective way to manage conflicts in a constructive way. But mediation not only helps to solve specific problems, because its potential encompasses aspects of greater complexity. Thus, mediation helps us to know ourselves better, to better understand others, and to use what we have learned to better manage future conflict situations. In a society where there is no culture of agreement and where there is no education in the field of emotions, mediation becomes an adequate and effective tool to resolve conflicts in a peaceful and constructive manner. On the other hand, mediation allows the parties to take responsibility for the resolution of their own conflict, to be active agents in the process. The greater the citizens’ participation in the different decision making processes, the more democratic a society will be. That is why, in the restoration of social peace, citizenship should play a role as an active agent, and mediation is a suitable instrument for this purpose because the individuals in conflict find the way to solve it without third party impositions.

Increasing supranational legislation and other factors fuel interaction between legal cultures. This leads to greater need both for a new breed of international lawyer and for legal translators. Moreover, the rise of English as the de facto global legal language intensifies the need for translation of legal texts into English and, as a corollary, production of legal texts in English. In practice, both involve individuals whose native tongue is other than English (NNS) in an endeavour fraught with traps for the unwary. To illustrate against the relevant theoretical background, legal texts are presented that involve the author as translator into English from French, German, and Russian, and as reviser, editor, and proofreader of English-language legal text prepared by NNS. Findings suggest a need to equip practitioners with certain knowledge and skills, implying a corresponding need for education, training, and legal linguistic research.

Multicultural education is a cross-cutting theme in the state educational programme ISCED 1 – primary education. In primary education, multicultural education can be taught as a separate subject or it can be included in other ongoing subjects. When applying multicultural education it is also important that the teacher doesn’t have prejudices against any ethnic group or nationality. He/she should also use appropriate methods that lead to pupils becoming more tolerant.

Opis:
The article analyzes three categories: co-existence, co-responsibility and interdependence in the context of contemporary discussions about the role of social pedagogy in building local communities. New possible approaches arise while using these concepts for addressing contemporary conditions of the communities which result in new tasks of education. There are analysed also the consequences of the transformation from the previous rather static (territorial) view of local communities, that had the aim to root people in existing social structures, towards more dynamic, open and diverse spaces. They are not considered only as physical places anymore but as new local relations that are being developed, based on not stable, however increasingly popular forms of sharing experiences. For these changes the studied concepts match the new realities and in consequence demand pedagogical considerations.

Autism is a developmental disorder that usually appears during the first three years of childhood. It results from a nervous system disorder, which affects brain functions. Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF 1) is a group of genetic diseases that mainly affect the growth of neural tissue cells. This alteration is also known as von Recklinghausen’s disease. The objective of this study is to highlight a case of this neurocutaneous alteration (NF 1) which was associated with autism spectrum disorders at the age of eight years. The data for this study are extracted from the medical file of a 12-year-old boy with confirmed autism who has been taken care of by the “Applied Behavioral Analysis” (ABA) center in Morocco since the age of three. At the age of eight, the appearance of numerous café-au-lait spots on his body led the center to conduct neuroradiological investigations (T1, T2 and Flair). The examinations had revealed T2 hyper intensity signals involving several unidentified bright objects (UBO) and the globus pallidus was the most affected area. With ASD alone, the child faces various disorders of the nervous system and many difficulties in his socio- communicative life. The onset of NF1 gave rise to additional complications. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The experimental results for $ZrZn_2$, URhGe, and in some pressure ranges also for $UGe_2$, showed that the ferromagnetic superconductors are weak itinerant ferromagnets. Guided by these results we describe the phenomenon of coexistence between equal spin triplet pairing superconductivity and ferromagnetism using the extended Stoner model, which includes in Hamiltonian the on-site Coulomb interaction, U, and occupation dependent hopping integral. We use the Hartree-Fock approximation and the Green functions technique. In the Hartree-Fock approximation the on-site Coulomb interaction plays the role of the on-site exchange (Hund's) field. All inter-site interactions will have included the inter-site kinetic correlation, 〈$c_{iσ}^{+}c_{jσ}$〉, within the Hartree-Fock approximation. We introduce the pressure-dependence to the hopping integral. Numerical results are compared with experimental data for $ZrZn_2$. The kinetic correlation creates the superconductivity without help of negative values of the Coulomb interactions. The model can explain stimulation of triplet superconductivity by the weak itinerant ferromagnetism. This effect was observed experimentally in $ZrZn_2$. Numerical analysis also confirms the experimental effect of decrease in critical temperatures (Curie and superconducting) with increasing external pressure.

Opis:
Coexistence of autoimmune diseases is increasingly observed. The relationship between type 1 diabetes and Hashimoto's disease and celiac disease is well documented. Reports from recent years also indicate a more frequent occurrence of Hashimoto's disease in patients with atopic dermatitis. In the presented case, we describe the occurrence of hypothyroidism in a girl with atopic dermatitis. Another symptom of the development of the immune process was formation of halo nevi from congenital and acquired nevus.
