In his “Réparer le monde. La littérature française face au XXI e siècle”, published in 2017, Alexandre Gefen highlights writing practices that have some beneficial impact on the experience of disease. I situate in this perspective Caroline Gutmann’s novel Les Papillons Noirs (2018), which is a unique fusion of autopathography (Grisi) with a filiation narrative (Viart). Two dimensions of filiation are under analysis – the familial and the mythical and literary ones – which become for the “writing I” a therapeutic means of fighting with cancer, as well as intergenerational traumas liberated in the process of reading/writing from the family “crypt” (Törok).

Opis:
A Carleson condition on the difference function for the coefficients of two elliptic-caloric operators is shown to give absolute continuity of one measure with respect to the other on the lateral boundary. The elliptic operators can have time dependent coefficients and only one of them is assumed to have a measure which is doubling. This theorem is an extension of a result of B. Dahlberg [4] on absolute continuity for elliptic measures to the case of the heat equation. The method of proof is an adaptation of Fefferman, Kenig and Pipher's proof of Dahlberg's result [8].

L’article propose une lecture de deux livres de Caroline Lamarche, L’Asturienne et La Fin des abeilles, dans le contexte de la réflexion sur la mémoire familiale qui est considérée ici comme fondatrice du sentiment de soi. Les œuvres en question s’inscrivent dans le large courant de textes autobiographiques qui prolifèrent depuis 1980. Les livres récents de Lamarche offrent l’exemple d’une écriture mémorielle originale ancrée dans l’incertitude de l’époque présente qui cherche ses racines et sa raison d’être dans le passé. L’article s’intéresse, d’une part à la poétique de ces textes et, de l’autre, à la manière dont se manifeste ici le travail de la mémoire. La réflexion sociologique d’Anne Muxel sur la mémoire familiale complète cette analyse, en fournissant les outils méthodologiques nécessaires. Les notions de transmission, de reviviscence et de réflexivité proposées par Muxel montrent le sens de l’acte de mémoire, aussi bien pour l’individu que pour la collectivité.
The article proposes a reading of two books by Caroline Lamarche, L’Asturienne and La Fin des abeilles, in the context of a reflection on family memory, which is considered here to be the foundation of the sense of self. The works in question are part of the broad current of autobiographical texts which have proliferated since 1980. Lamarche’s recent books offer an example of original memorial writing anchored in the uncertainty of the present time that seeks its roots and its raison d’être in the past. The article focuses on the poetics of these texts on the one hand, and, on the other, on the way in which the work of memory is manifested here. Anne Muxel’s sociological reflection on family memory complements this analysis by providing the necessary methodological tools. The notions of transmission, reviviscence and reflexivity proposed by Muxel demonstrate the meaning of remembrance, for both individual and community.

Caroline affair has been one of the historical events of British-American diplomacy since the 1812 War to the Webster-Ashburton Treaty 1842. The beginning of accident was the destruction of the American Caroline ship by British Army forces in Upper Canada on December 29, 1837. When the incident occurred, the Anglo-American opinion on this issue was in stark contrast. The differences in opinion were the causes of the tension between the two countries. In the threat of occurring war, Great Britain and the United States held talks on Caroline affair. Caroline's handling of the problem had played a significant role in reducing tensions, paving the way for resolving conflicts in the relationship between the two countries through the Webster-Ashburton treaty in 1842. At the same time, this issue established new principles in international politics. This article would contribute to the history of Caroline affair, McLeod case and the history of British-American relations related to this issue from 1837 to 1841.

Fear has always entered the human soul. Aware of this fact, Emile Zola speaks of this emotion in his fictional works, especially his neurotic characters. Thus, either the “crazies”, victims of the breakdown of the time, real hysterical, religious neurosis or the “irregulars of hysteria” and “doubles” of Zola, all are animated by a neurotic, even hysterical fear. Speaking of fear in his neuroses, Zola speaks of his own fears related to his neurosis. Furthermore, the writer offers a remedy to the neurotic fear, remedy that occurs through the pipe of the passions. Key words: fear, neurosis, hysteria, Second Empire

Ego tango is the debut novel by a Belgian writer, Caroline de Mulder. In 2010, it won the most significant literary award in the country. The story is set in a closed circle of the Paris tango dancers. The present study examines the original narration of the novel and the construction of the plot, which are both subordinated to the introvert nature of the tango – a dance that becomes an addiction and an obsession. De Mulder’s text is an interesting example of a theoretical problem of the “correspondence of arts,” their mutual overlapping and co-dependence; in this particular case, literature and dance. This concerns both the music and the lyrics of the tangos, which constitute and integral component of the structure of the musical piece and determine the rhythm of the story being told, its atmosphere, mood and type of the relationship between the protagonists. The novel was inspired by the personal experience of the authoress – a tango dancer and was structured in accordance with the nature and the spirit of this dance.

In dem Beitrag wird auf die wichtigsten Motive des Romans "Cordelia" von Caroline von Wolzogen verwiesen. Eine der ersten deutschen Schriftstellerinnen ist bekannt vor allem durch ihren Erstlingsroman "Agnes von Lilien" und durch "Schillers Leben", "Cordelia" wurde hingegen bisher kaum untersucht. Ihr Alterswerk zeigt Caroline von Wolzogen als eine Idealistin und Patriotin (Napoleonszeit, Befreiungskriege), die den Idealen der Weimarer Klassik und insbesondere den Ideen von Schiller („schöne Seele“) und Wilhelm von Humboldt treu geblieben ist.
The paper examines the most important motifs in the last novel "Cordelia" by Caroline von Wolzogen. She was one of the first German women’s writers, Schillers sister-in-law, known mostly by her first novel "Agnes von Lilien" and "Schiller’s Biography". Von Wolzogen’s last novel has so far hardly been investigated. It shows Wolzogen as an idealist and patriot (Napoleon’s time, Liberation wars) who has remained faithful to the ideals of Weimar Classicism, especially the ideas of Schiller (“beautiful soul”) and Wilhelm von Humboldt.
Niniejszy tekst zajmuje się najważniejszymi motywami w ostatniej powieści "Cordelia" Caroline von Wolzogen. Jedna z pierwszych niemieckich pisarek znana jest głównie dzięki powieści "Agnes von Lilien" i biografii o Schillerze. Jej ostatnia powieść nie doczekała się dotychczas poważnej analizy. "Cordelia" pokazuje Wolzogen jako idealistkę i patriotkę (epoka Napoleona, wojny wyzwoleńcze w Niemczech), która pozostała wierna ideałom niemieckiej Klasyki Weimarskiej, a w szczególności ideałom Schillera („piękna dusza”) i Wilhelma von Humboldta.

Issues related to the eroticism frequently appear in the media and this is the context in which the authors of the following text concentrated on a closely related and yet opposing matter. They decided to ask about the broadly defined chastity and the purity of heart, mind and body (the terms chastity and purity, as well as unchastity and impurity, shall be used interchangeably). How is this topic presented by the contemporary media? Simultaneously, they ask how the issues related to the lack of such purity, e.g. in the physical context, are treated by the media. The authors made an attempt to explain this by presenting a comparative analysis of two films they chose as serving best for their purpose. The first is50 Shades of Grey, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, and the other Caroline, directed by Dariusz Regucki. During the first stage of this research of notions and chastity and unchas-tity have been defined, on the basis of the proper reference books. Next, the chosen movies were analysed thoroughly, in order to define the true look of the purity and impurity noticeable in both movies – in their activities, as well as in the behaviour and dialogues of the main protagonists. The third stage of the research assumed creating a synthesis of the material achieved on the basis of analysing the two pictures. At this moment it became possible to present the conclusions, pointing out, first of all, that the media are rather poorly interested in the subject of chastity. However, this inspired the authors to drawing other conclusions in the form of the postulates, concerning how the media presents the subjects of purity and impurity.
