The aim of this paper is to identify and explore nature of superior-subordinate relationship and the different uses of empowerment in organizations where employees and managers are of different nationalities. The hypothesis formulated in the study was that a correct relationship fosters empowerment, but this is conditioned by whether or not the work environment is an international one. The research was conducted using the CAWI technique on a non-randomly selected sample of 277 respondents, and confirms a positive correlation between empowerment and the quality of relationships, and also between empowerment and the type of relationship. Moreover, the perception of relationships is modified when an international working environment is considered. In all models, the formal relationship proves to be an irrelevant factor in the use of empowerment. As far as the origin of the superior is concerned, when the superior is a foreigner, the quality, and not the type of the relationship, is the crucial factor. However, an informal relationship becomes important when there are no foreigners. This may cause certain threats in a situation where the company expands internationally.

Celem artykułu jest analiza poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego gmin województwa lubelskiego w latach 1995–2021. Przedmiotem badań uczyniono 213 gmin województwa. Źródłem danych do przeprowadzonej analizy był Bank Danych Lokalnych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego. Do badania użyto analizy taksonomicznej, metody bez wzorca. Przeanalizowano 19 zmiennych w badanym okresie. Podzielono je na zmienne dotyczące rozwoju: ekonomicznego (7 zmiennych), społecznego (8 zmiennych) i technicznego (4 zmienne). W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy stwierdzono wzrost poziomu rozwoju w badanym okresie. Zaobserwowano, że zróżnicowanie poziomu rozwoju gmin w układzie przestrzennym zmniejsza się. Stwierdzono również, że z uwagi na przyjęte cechy akcesja Polski do Unii Europejskiej miała wpływ na spadek indeksów dynamiki przemian w badanych gminach.
The aim of the article is to analyze the level of socio-economic development of the communes of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in the years 1995–2021. The subject of the study involved 213 communes of the Lubelskie Voivodeship. The source of data for the conducted analysis was the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office. Taxonomic analysis, method without pattern was used for the research. 19 different variables were examined in the analyzed period. They were divided into variables concerning development: economic (7 variables), social (8 variables) and technical (4 variables). It has been proven in the article that the level of development of the Lubelskie Voivodeship communes in the analyzed period of 1995–2021 increased. Decrease in this development could only be observed in the case of 12 communes. The development processes of communes lead to equalization of their development levels due to the adopted features in the spatial arrangement at a higher level. Poland’s accession to the European Union changed tendencies in terms of the size of dynamicsof communes due to the adopted features. After joining the European Union, the average annual growth rate decreased. The COVID-19 pandemic has not changed the trends in the size of the dynamics of cities and towns due to the adopted features. Communes with a similar index of dynamics of the level of development are located in the same territorial systems due to the adopted features. Communes displaying a similar level of development, due to the adopted features, are located in the same territorial systems. The size of the cities and towns shows a relationship with the index of the dynamics of the level of development due to the adopted features. There is a negative correlation between the dynamics index in 1995–2003, 2019–2021 and 1995–2021 and the size of the commune, which means that the smaller the commune, the higher the change dynamics index. The size of cities and towns shows a relationship with the level of urban development due to the adopted features. The analysis of the size of the commune measured by the number of population and the level of socio-economic development in the presented years: 1995, 2003, 2019 and 2021 are significantly correlated showing positive values according to statistics.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badania stabilności grupowania powiatów woj. zachodniopomorskiego ze względu na sytuację gospodarczą w latach 2007–2021. Celem badania było uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy pandemia COVID-19 wpłynęła na sytuację gospodarczą powiatów. Dane do obliczeń zaczerpnięto z Banku Danych Lokalnych GUS. Dla każdej jednostki wyznaczono wartości miary syntetycznej w poszczególnych latach z wykorzystaniem wybranych zmiennych charakteryzujących sytuację przedsiębiorstw, sytuację na rynku pracy oraz sytuację finansową powiatów. Następnie pogrupowano powiaty za pomocą metody trzech średnich (osobno dla każdego roku) i na podstawie wybranych miar podobieństwa oceniono stabilność grupowania powiatów w analizowanym okresie rok do roku. Wykazano, że grupowanie powiatów charakteryzowało się bardzo dużą stabilnością, co oznacza, że pandemia zasadniczo nie zmieniła ich sytuacji gospodarczej.
The paper presents the results of a study examining the stability of the grouping of Polish powiats (communes) in Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship in relation to the economic situation in the years 2007–2021. The aim of the research was to determine whether the COVID-19 pandemic affected the economic situation of the powiats. The data used for the calculations were provided by the Local Data Bank of Statistics Poland. On the basis of selected variables characterising the situation of enterprises and the labour market, as well as the financial condition of powiats, the values of the synthetic measure were determined for each powiat in the particular years. Subsequently, the powiats were grouped according to the three averages method (separately for each year). Based on selected similarity measures, the stability of the grouping of powiats was assessed year-to-year in the analysed period. The research demonstrated that the grouping was very stable, which means that in general the pandemic did not affect the economic situation of the powiats.

Air pollution has a significant impact on citizens’ well-being and overall life quality. In this regard, regular air quality monitoring aims to keep pollution levels within prescribed limits and to identify the factors (winds, traffic, seasons, ambient temperature, air humidity, and so on) that influence pollution levels. To carry out a preliminary analysis of the air quality in Kielce, a specialist detector of PM2.5 and PM10 particles Steinberg 10030389 SBS-PM2.5 was used. Besides, the analysis referred to pollutants such as SO2; NO2; C6H6, which were provided from the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection. Controlling the above mentioned pollutants for monthly and hourly averages of the selected time period in 2020 and 2021, taking into account the epidemiological situation (lockdown), graphs with the results were prepared. Then the analysis was carried out, with the preliminary assumption that the air quality is worse when the population functions normally than when it remains indoors, and that air quality is usually better at night than during the day.
Zanieczyszczenie powietrza ma znaczący wpływ na samopoczucie obywateli i ogólną jakość życia. W związku z tym regularne monitorowanie jakości powietrza ma na celu utrzymanie poziomu zanieczyszczeń w wyznaczonych granicach oraz identyfikację czynników (wiatry, ruch uliczny, pory roku, temperatura otoczenia, wilgotność powietrza itp.), które wpływają na poziom zanieczyszczeń. Do przeprowadzenia wstępnej analizy jakości powietrza w Kielcach wykorzystano specjalistyczny detektor cząstek stałych PM2,5 i PM10 Steinberg 10030389 SBS-PM2,5. Ponadto w analizie uwzględniono takie zanieczyszczenia jak SO2; NO2; C6H6, które zostały udostępnione przez Główny Inspektorat Ochrony Środowiska. Kontrolując ww. zanieczyszczenia dla średnich miesięcznych i godzinowych z wybranego okresu w latach 2020 i 2021, z uwzględnieniem sytuacji epidemiologicznej (blokada), sporządzono wykresy z wynikami. Następnie przeprowadzono analizę, przyjmując wstępne założenie, że jakość powietrza jest gorsza, gdy ludność funkcjonuje normalnie, niż gdy pozostaje w pomieszczeniach zamkniętych, oraz że jakość powietrza jest zwykle lepsza w nocy niż w ciągu dnia.

The article aims to recreate the tourist view based on the observation of the lexical layer of texts in quantitative terms. The subject of the research is the most frequent lexis excerpted in the form of an frequency list from Listy z podróży po Włoszech by Konstanty Gaszyński. The collected material consists of 300 words. The most common vocabulary was grouped into 9 semantic-lexical circles and analyzed using the research tools of cultural linguistics. The research has indicated that it is possible to reconstruct, on the basis of the analysis of the most common lexis, both the points of view in the texts and the correlated profiles of the Italian space.

In order to better understand the relationship between literature and philosophy, the paper takes as its starting point a number of reflections by José Ortega y Gasset; indeed, his ideas help demonstrate the value of literature for philosophical thought. The structure of a literary narrative is an interesting working space for perspectivism, and the literary works of Hervé Guibert serve as a useful case study to exemplify this idea. It will be argued that philosophy and literature are two perspectives that coincide and favour a more complex study of the plurality of differing viewpoints, which applies to both their content and dissimilarities.
Este trabajo toma como punto de partida algunas reflexiones de José Ortega y Gasset para pensar la relación entre la literatura y la filosofía y mostrar el valor de la literatura para el pensamiento filosófico. La estructura de una narración literaria es un interesante espacio de trabajo para el perspectivismo, y las obras literarias de Hervé Guibert son un caso de estudio clave para ejemplificar esta idea. Se defenderá que la filosofía y literatura son dos perspectivas que pueden coincidir y favorecer un estudio más complejo de la pluralidad de perspectivas, sus contrastes y contenidos.

In this paper, we consider the development of reliable tools to assess the water quality and state of aquatic ecosystems in dynamic conditions a crucial need to address. One of such tools could be devised by monitoring the taxonomic structure of reservoirs’ microbiomes. Microbial taxa’s ecological and metabolic characteristics suggest their essential roles in maintaining the water ecosystem’s environmental equilibrium. The study aimed to explain the role of diversity and seasonal variability of the microbial communities in the ecosystem stability on the example of Goczałkowice Reservoir (Poland). The structure of the reservoir microbiome was studied using bioinformatics and modeling techniques. Water was sampled periodically in July & November 2010, and April 2011 at four representative sites. The abundance and relative fraction of the limnetic taxonomic units were determined in respect to the physicochemical indices. Significant seasonal variations in the number of operational taxonomic units (OTU) were observed within the reservoir basin’s main body but not at the main tributary’s mouth. The highest values of the correlation coefficients between OTU and physicochemical variables were obtained for Burkholderiales, Pseudoanabenales, Rickettsiales, Roseiflexales, Methylophilales, Actinomycetales, and Cryptophyta. These microorganisms are proposed as indicators of environmental conditions and water quality. Metataxonomic analyses of the freshwater microbiome in the reservoir, showed that microorganisms constitute conservative communities that undergo seasonal and local changes regarding the relative participation of the identified taxa. Therefore, we propose that monitoring those variations could provide a reliable measure of the state of aquatic ecosystems.

Celem artykułu jest analiza koncepcji nacjonalizmu integralnego autorstwa Charles’a Maurrasa, zakładająca przywrócenie ograniczonej monarchii jako jedynego właściwego modelu rządzenia państwem, w którym to naród może się w pełni rozwijać. W pierwszej części zostanie naszkicowana istota nacjonalizmu integralnego i rola władzy królewskiej w stosunku do narodu, według przekonań Ch. Maurrasa. Druga część stanowi wskazanie cech francuskiej odmiany nacjonalizmu we współczesnych europejskich monarchiach oraz odnalezienie zespołu wartości, które powinny reprezentować efektywną władzę królewską. Rezultaty badań wykazały, że proponowana przez Maurrasa odmiana nacjonalizmu wcale nie była tak utopijna, jak twierdzili krytycy myśli francuskiego nacjonalisty i obecnie znajduje zastosowanie we współczesnych monarchiach w Europie.
The aim of the article is to analyze Charles Maurras’ concept of integral nationalism, in which he assumed the restoration of the limited monarchy to be the only appropriate governance model which enables a nation to develop. The first part outlines Ch. Maurras’ perception of integral nationalism and the role of monarchy in relation to the nation. The latter part is an attempt to use the French version of nationalism in modern European monarchies and find a set of characteristics that should represent the new royal power. The results of the research show that Maurras’ new version of nationalism was not as utopian as it was claimed by his critics and has applications in modern European monarchies.

The article presents an analysis of the results of a survey conducted in 2022 among students and young graduates of three vocational education courses, studying in EU countries (N = 428). The area of research concerns the awareness of competencies sought-after by employers and the self-assessed level of these competencies. The authors used tests of the equality of two means in order to check for differences in assessments according to the respondents' metric characteristics, and also factor analysis to check for similarities in attitudes towards different types of competencies in the respondents' assessments. Finding such similarities would allow to use a summative scale and reduce the dimensions.
W artykule zaprezentowano analizę wyników badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w 2022 r. na grupie uczniów i młodych absolwentów trzech kierunków kształcenia zawodowego pobierających naukę w kilku krajach unijnych (N = 428). Prezentowany obszar badań dotyczy znajomości kompetencji pożądanych przez pracodawców oraz samooceny poziomu tych kompetencji. Wykorzystano test równości średnich w celu sprawdzenia różnic w ocenach ze względu na cechy metryczkowe respondentów. Analizę czynnikową zastosowano dla sprawdzenia, czy w ocenach respondentów można zauważyć podobieństwo podejścia do różnych rodzajów kompetencji. Ewentualne stwierdzenie takiej prawidłowości pozwoliłoby na stosowanie skali sumacyjnej i redukcję wymiarów.

W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę nowego modelu „Edukacja wysokiej jakości”, proponowanego przez MEiN w ramach prac nad modelem edukacji uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi, w kontekście aktualnie realizowanego modelu „Edukacji włączającej” uczniów z niepełnosprawnościami. Przeprowadzono analizę założeń ogólnych oraz określono warunki wdrożenia modelu „Edukacji wysokiej jakości” w polskich realiach edukacyjnych, w odniesieniu do wymogów edukacji uczniów z niepełnosprawnością wzroku. Analiza obejmuje czynniki koncepcyjne (zmiana paradygmatu), pojęciowe (zmiana terminologii), systemowe (zmiana w obrębie systemowych instrumentów wsparcia przedszkola i szkoły), organizacyjne (zmiana warunków dostosowania edukacji i wsparcia), finansowe (zmiana finansowania zadań oświatowych) i społeczne (zmiana świadomości środowiska społecznego).
The article presents the characteristics of the new model of "High-quality education" proposed by the Ministry of Education and Science as part of the work on the model of education of students with special educational needs, in the context of the currently implemented model of "Inclusive education" of students with disabilities. An analysis of the general assumptions was carried out and the conditions for the implementation of the „High-quality education” model in the Polish educational realities were defined in relation to the requirements of educating students with visual impairments. The analysis covers conceptual (change of paradigm), terms (change of terminology), systemic (change within systemic support instruments for kindergartens and schools), organizational (change in the conditions of adapting education and support), financial (change in financing educational tasks) and social (change in awareness of social environment).

Across the globe, public administrations are employing communication to develop programs to respond to the challenges of bringing society to the core of policy making and of searching for innovative ways to generate growth. But how much do these programs achieve, and to what extent are their consequences positive? Building on theorizing about intangible assets in the public sector and based on economic indicators as well as on survey data from 17 countries, this paper explores whether specific intangible assets that are citizens’ perceptions-based can operate as sources of growth. More specifically, the article looks at citizen engagement and trust, intangible resources that are built upon organizational behaviors as well as activated through communication. Results allow us to compare the relation of these resources with growth with the relation of tangible capital with growth in 17 countries. Based on findings, the article discusses implications for public sector communication.

To reflect the financial situation of households, especially for emergencies, the main purpose of this research is to analyze financial behavior in relation to savings. This research explains the interaction of minimum savings rules and committed forms of saving, which means that the use of personal budgets depends on financial behavior due to insecurity and the financial situation of families. The research is consistent with some empirical findings on financial behavior in relation to savings, which affect the growth or decline of the economy, because the lower the well-being of families the lower the economic growth or vice versa. The validation of the hypotheses was realized through the analysis of field findings, using the econometric model of savings in relation to financial behavior through factor analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis. The main finding of this research is the lack of financial behavior to save for emergencies. These findings are important in order for households to be aware of financial behavior in relation to savings, because there is no emergency fund to cover their needs.

Opis:
National power grid in Poland requires modernisation, therefore by 2030 numerous actions are scheduled regarding the expansion of the existing network and the construction of new electricity transmission lines (power lines). The planned activities will undoubtedly change the quality of landscape and result in fragmentation of forest habitats, some of which are characterised by high biodiversity and constitute a key element of ecological corridors. The aim of the present paper was to outline the issue of the impact of the power line corridors on forest habitat fragmentation, as well as to present the GuidosToolbox software (Graphical User Interface for the Description of image Objects and their Shapes) used, among other things, for the determination of the degree of fragmentation of forest habitats. The analysis concerned the Puszcza Bukowa forest, which is a part of the Natura 2000 network and is protected under the Szczecin Landscape Park ‘Puszcza Bukowa’. Despite abundant natural assets of the Puszcza Bukowa forest, it was necessary to run many power lines through its area due to location of the forest in the vicinity of the Szczecin agglomeration. The course of power lines contributed to the fragmentation of the discussed forest complex and to the depletion of its interior classified with the GuidosToolbox software as ‘Intact’. The software discussed in the present paper may prove useful in the identification of the degree of forest area fragmentation, connected with the course of high-voltage power transmission lines, and in the assessment of the impact of the planned investment projects on biocenoses.
