Opis:
Based on a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model and an inverse system method, this paper deals with the problem of actuator fault estimation for a class of nonlinear dynamic systems. Two different estimation strategies are developed. Firstly, T-S fuzzy models are used to describe nonlinear dynamic systems with an actuator fault. Then, a robust sliding mode observer is designed based on a T-S fuzzy model, and an inverse system method is used to estimate the actuator fault. Next, the second fault estimation strategy is developed. Compared with some existing techniques, such as adaptive and sliding mode methods, the one presented in this paper is easier to be implemented in practice. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed techniques.

A pot experiment was carried out under greenhouse conditions to study the impact of the evaluated treatments namely abamectin, azadirachtin 0.15%, azadirachtin 0.03%, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Paecilomyces lilacinus and oxamyl against root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) on the tomato plants cv. Super strain B. The results indicated that the most of the tested treatments obviously reduced root galls and remarkably increase tomato plant growth characters significantly and egg masses on root system, as well as, juvenile's numbers in the soil. P. lilacinus was the most effective treatment on both galls and egg masses achieving 88.23 and 76.94% reduction, respectively. While, less effective treatment was P. fluorescens achieving 57.53% galls reduction. Azadirachtin 0.03% was the least effective treatment giving 40.37% reduction of egg masses. The superior treatment that suppressed nematode populations was oxamyl recording (88.90%) followed by abamectin (78.69%) reduction. Moreover, azadirachtin 0.15% was the least effective treatment which recorded 60.15% reduction. On the other hand, plants free nematode recorded the highest plant parameters for shoot system length, fresh shoot weight, dry shoot weight and root system length with values of 24.15, 107.53, 211.59 and 46.17% increase, respectively. Azadirachtin 0.15% was the least effective treatment on shoot system length and fresh and dry shoot weight. While, oxamyl recorded the least increase in root system length estimated by 18.47%. B. subtilis recorded the highest increase in fresh root weight followed by P. fluorescens with value of 125.75 and 86.57%, consecutively. Vise versa, P. fluorescens was the superior treatment to increase the dry root weight by 68.14% followed by B. subtilis which recorded 35.40%. The least effective treatment in improving fresh root weight was azadirachtin 0.15% which recorded 54.85% increase. Regarding to dry shoot weight P. lilacinus and azadirachtin 0.15% were the least effective treatments with values of 8.85 and 2.66% reduction, respectively.

The application of synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction to the study of minerals and understanding of the structure and dynamics of the Earth's deep interior is summarised. The salient features of the diamond anvil cell and large-volume multi-anvil cell high-P/T apparatus as used at synchrotron radiation sources are described, and recent developments and applications of these techniques within high-P/T mineralogy are reviewed.

Celem artykułu jest analiza potencjalnego związku między cechami społecznymi i demograficznymi charakteryzującymi liderów lokalnych samorządów (wójtów, burmistrzów, prezydentów), a zaangażowaniem j.s.t. w realizację projektów finansowanych lub współfinansowanych ze środków UE. W tekście przedstawiono wyniki badania pilotażowego otrzymane metodą analizy jednoczynnikowej ANOVA. Przeanalizowany został wpływ zmiennych, takich jak płeć włodarza samorządowego, jego wiek, wykształcenie czy wykonywana profesja. Wyniki wskazują na potencjalnie istniejące związki między cechami społeczno-demograficznymi liderów samorządowych, a zaangażowaniem j.s.t. w realizację tzw. projektów unijnych.
The aim of this study is to empirical analysis of the potential relationship between quality of mayors and local governments involvement in EU funding projects. This chapter presents the results of the data analysis using ANOVA method. The empirical result indicate potentially existing relationships between the quality of mayors and the scope of local government involvement in EU fuding projects.

The pre-war period (1926-1940) of A.T. Tvaedovskiy’s creative work, the great poet of the 20yh century, born in the Smolensk Region, is a period of his rising as an insuperable master of word, a people’s tribune, the time when the main traits of his poetry were developed and when his formation as a founder of the Smolensk Poetic School occurred. One of the central themes of the SPS poets, and first of all, A.T. Tvardovskiy himself, was the theme of “the minor” and “the big”. Motherland, which was materialized in significant motives through a system of toponyms. i.e. the names of geograpphical places. The article analyzes a system of macro- and mictrotoponyms and demonstrates their part in revealing of the thematical content of numerous pre-war poems (A Trip to Zagorye, 1939, Station Pochinok, 1936, and others), as well the first epical poem of the author Strana Muraviya (1936).

This article is devoted to the theory of new German opera created by E.T.A Hoffmann and the first attempt to putting it into practice. His short story entitled The Poet and the Composer (1813) and released in the Leipzig “Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung” is a romantic opera, written in two voices, which draws inspiration from the supernatural world and aims at a coherent poetic vision. E.T.A Hoffmann realised in Undine (1816) some of the postulates articulated in the analysed short story and in the correspondence from that time, using Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué’s libretto based on the fairy tale novella bearing the same title, thereby showing the way to further development of the genre.
Artykuł poświęcony jest stworzonej przez E.T.A. Hoffmanna teorii nowej opery niemieckiej oraz pierwszej próbie przełożenia jej na praktykę. Jego opowiadanie Poeta i kompozytor (1813), które ukazało się na łamach lipskiej „Allgemeine Musikalische Zeitung”, to rozpisany na dwa głosy program opery romantycznej, która ma czerpać inspirację ze świata nadprzyrodzonego, a także dążyć do spójnej poetyckiej wizji. Część postulatów wyartykułowanych w analizowanym opowiadaniu oraz w korespondencji z tamtego czasu E.T.A. Hoffmann zrealizował w Ondynie (1816) do libretta Friedricha de la Motte Fouquégo na podstawie baśni literackiej pod tym samym tytułem, wytyczając tym samym kierunek dalszego rozwoju gatunku.

Dank seiner Natürlichkeit, Einfachheit, Authentizität, Unmittelbarkeit, Reinheit, Sinnlichkeit und Naturverbundenheit spielt der Gesang in der Literatur der Romantik eine besondere Rolle. In den Erzählungen von E. T. A. Hoffmann wird er als ein musikalisches Geschehen betrachtet, das durch die Singstimme körperlich-sinnlich die Transzendenzerfahrung wiedergibt. Ihm wird deswegen die Funktion eines Mediums zugesprochen, welches die Resonanz des Übermenschlichen (des Unaussprechlichen – Göttlichen oder Dämonischen) im Inneren eines Menschen schafft.
Due to its naturalness, simplicity, authenticity, ingenuousness, pureness, sensuality and connection to nature, singing plays a special role in the literature of Romanticism. In E. T. A. Hoffmann’s short stories, singing is seen as a musical event, where singing voice helps convey transcendent experience through physical and sensory sensations. This is why singing is endowed with the function of a medium which creates the resonance of superhuman (indescribable – divine or demonic) in the inner world of a person.

Dieser Beitrag widmet sich der Rolle der Musik in E. T. A. Hoffmanns Die Automate (1814) aus dem Erzählzyklus Die Serapions-Brüder (1819-1821). Der Gegensatz ‚innen/außen‘ innerhalb des romantischen Diskurses über das ‚Gemüt‘ erhält dabei besondere Aufmerksamkeit. Die Musik fungiert in Hoffmanns Text als Gefühlsausdruck und ‚Gemütherregungskunst‘ (Novalis) und folgt damit dem ‚serapiontischen Prinzip‘. Zugleich wird durch Teile der Handlung die Innerlichkeit von Gefühl und Musik infrage gestellt, indem deren äußere Aspekte inszeniert werden, die den Gesetzen einer seelenlosen Mechanik zu gehorchen scheinen.
This article discusses the role of music in E. T. A. Hoffmann’s The Automata (1814) from his collection of stories The Serapion Brethren (1819–1821). Particular attention is paid to the opposition ‘inner/outer’ within the Romantic discourse on the ‘Gemüt’ (soul, heart). In Hoffmann’s text, music functions as an emotional expression and ‘Gemütherregungskunst’ (‘art of stirring the heart’, as coined by Novalis). In doing so, it follows the ‘Serapiontic Principle’. At the same time, the inwardness of emotions and music is questioned by parts of the plot that highlight their external aspects that seem to obey the laws of a soulless mechanics.

Opis:
In process robustness studies, it is desirable to minimize the influence of noise factors on the system and simultaneously determine the levels of controllable factors optimizing the overall response or outcome. In the cases when a random effects model is applicable and a fixed effects model is assumed instead, an increase in the variance of the coefficient vector should be expected. In this paper, the impacts of this assumption on the results of the experiment in the context of robust parameter design are investigated. Furthermore, two criteria are considered to determine the optimum settings for the control factors. In order to better understand the proposed method and to evaluate its performances, a numerical example for the case of 'the smaller the better' is included.

Opis:
Two techniques for the control of a grid side converter in a wind energy conversion system. The system is composed of a fixed pitch angle wind turbine followed by a permanent magnet synchronous generator and power electronic converters AC-DC-AC. The main interest is in how to control the inverter in order to ensure the stability of the DC link voltage. Two control methods based on the fuzzy approach are applied and compared. First, a direct Mamdani fuzzy logic controller is presented. Then, a T–S fuzzy controller is elaborated based on a T–S fuzzy model. The Lyapunov theorem and H-infinity performance are exploited for stability analysis. Besides, the feedback controller gains are determined using linear matrix inequality tools. Simulation results are derived in order to prove the robustness of the proposed control algorithms and to compare their performances.

Der Artikel widmet sich der rhetorischen Spannung zwischen dem Ausgesprochenen und dem Unausgesprochenen in der Erzählung „Die Bergwerke zu Falun“ von E.T.A. Hoffmann. Die eigentliche Handlung nimmt ihren Lauf mit der Selbstverdammnis, die der Protagonist, Elis Fröbom, nach dem Tod seiner Mutter ausspricht. Dieser verbale Akt wird durch einen das Leben bejahenden „Gegenzauber“, d.i. die Liebeserklärung gegenüber Ulla, erst an dem Tag ausgeglichen, an dem Elis im Bergwerk stirbt. Die Spannung zwischen Schweigen und Reden stellt auch ein wesentliches Element in der unterirdischen Vision des Protagonisten dar, der eine Schlüsselbedeutung für die Interpretation des Werkes zukommt.
The article focuses on “The Mines of Falun”, a short story by E.T.A. Hoffmann, and it specifically undertakes investigating the rhetorical tension between the expressed and the unexpressed. The trigger for the true inception of the plot of the story emerges by dint of the death of Elis Fröbom’s mother; this bereavement precipitates in the hero the development and articulation of self-damning death wish. Such a verbal commitment is at long last contrapuntally mirrored in a life-affirming counter-spell: the confession of his love for lover Ulla. This act of uncasting the previous spell materializes shortly before Elis descends into the innards of a mine only to meet his death there. The tension between verbal expression and silence also constitutes a significant dimension of the chthonic vision of a hero who in turn lends himself exquisitely to interpreting the enigma of the whole story.

The article talks about the stereotypes of national character, formed both in own minds and imported from other nations, about how, in the light of these stereotypes, cultural and behavioral consciousness of nation’s immediate, close and distant neighbors are perceived. The author identifies and amplifies the comic symptoms and character traits that are a stable component of such stereotypes and rarely have anything to do with reality. At the same time, the author draws attention to the importance of studying these distorting mirror “portraits” for better understanding of the true national characters, and the treatment of defined states by the international community. Also he identifies the colorful and comic stereotypes such as the images of Uncle Sam – American, Ivan – Russian, Han – the grandfather of Chinese, Kerim – Kazakh, Tashmataka – Uzbek and other folklore characters, actively utilized in various political disagreements, debates and conflicts.

The effects of a microbial inoculant (Thervelics®: a mixture of cells of Bacillus subtilis C-3102 and carrier materials) on rice (Oryza sativa cv. Milkyprincess) and barley (Hordeum vulgare cv. Sachiho Golden) were evaluated in four pot experiments. In the first and second experiments, the dry matter production of rice and barley increased significantly by 10–20% with the inoculation of the mixture at a rate of 107 cfu ⋅ g–1 soil compared with the non-inoculated control. In the third experiment, the growth promoting effects of the mixture, the autoclaved mixture and the carrier materials were compared. The dry mater production of rice grains was the highest in the mixture, and it was significantly higher in the three treatments than in the control, suggesting that the carrier materials may also have a plant growth promoting effect and the living cells might have an additional stimulatory effect. To confirm the efficacy of the living cells in the mixture, only B. subtilis C-3102 cells were used in the fourth experiment. In addition, to estimate the mechanisms in growth promotion by B. subtilis C-3102, three B. subtilis strains with similar or different properties in the production of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), protease and siderophore and phosphatesolubilizing ability were used as reference strains. Only B. subtilis C-3102 significantly increased the dry matter production of rice grains and the soil protease activity was consistently higher in the soil inoculated with B. subtilis C-3102 throughout the growing period. These results indicate that the microbial inoculant including live B. subtilis C-3102 may have growth promoting effects on rice and barley.

In 2010-2012, in the Experimental Ecological Orchard of the Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice, a study was conducted on the possibility of reducing populations of the apple sawfly (Hoplocampa testudinea Klug) using biological formulations. The tests involved treatments with an extract from the wood of Quassia amara (4 kg/ha) and an extract from the seeds of Azadirachta indica in the form of a ready-made formulation NeemAzal-T/S at a rate of 2.5 l/ha with the addition of a 0.3% sugar solution. A single treatment was performed in the first two years, and two treatments in the last year. The effectiveness of the protection of fruitlets against damage varied and for the Q. amara extract was from 8.3% (one treatment) to 86.1% (two treatments), and for the NeemAzal-T/S formulation from 4.8% (one treatment) to 44.3% (two treatments). In relation to the damage to fruits, the efficacy of the treatments also varied, ranging from 10.3% to 60% for the Q. amara extract, and from 0% to 46.7% for NeemAzal-T/S.
W latach 2010-2012 w Ekologicznym Sadzie Doświadczalnym Instytutu Ogrodnictwa wykonano badania nad możliwością ograniczenia populacji owocnicy jabłkowej (Hoplocampa testudinea Klug) przy pomocy preparatów biologicznych. Badano wywar z drewna gorzkli właściwej (Quassia amara) (4 kg/ha) oraz ekstrakt z nasion miodli indyjskiej (Azadirachta indica) w postaci gotowego preparatu NeemAzal-T/S w dawce 2,5 l/ha z dodatkiem 0,3% roztworu cukru. W pierwszych dwu latach wykonano 1 zabieg, a w ostatnim roku 2 zabiegi. Efektywność zabezpieczenia zawiązków owocowych przed uszkodzeniami była zróżnicowana i wyniosła dla wywaru z Quassia amara od 8,3% (1 zabieg) do 86,1% (dwa zabiegi), a preparatu Nee-mAzal-T/S od 4,8% (1 zabieg) do 44,3% (2 zabiegi). W stosunku do uszkodzeń owoców efektywność zabiegów również była zróżnicowana i wyniosła od 10,3% do 60% dla wywaru z Quassia amara oraz od 0% do 46,7% dla preparatu NeemAzal-T/S.
