Opis:
Crystallization of Li₂O-7GeO₂ glass was carried out on heating, simultaneously differential scanning calorimetry and electric properties were studied. Morphology of the phase states obtained at glass devitrification was examined by atomic force microscopy. It was shown that amorphous phase of Li₂O-7GeO₂ was crystallized in stages through the intermediate state with increased conductivity σ . In the intermediate state the sample volume was occupied by nanometer-sized nuclei with ordered structure surrounded by internuclear amorphous medium. Complete glass crystallization occurred through transformation of nanometer-sized nuclei into micrometer-sized crystallites and was accompanied by a sharp and irreversible decrease of conductivity. Atomic force microscopy of the samples heat-treated in different ways showed that Li₂O-7GeO₂ glass crystallization was suppressed near the surface and mainly proceeded within the sample bulk. Charge transfer in amorphous, nanocrystalline intermediate and polycrystalline phases of Li₂O-7GeO₂ was associated with motion of the weakly bound Li ions.

Opis:
The perovskite lithium lanthanum titanate shows high ionic conductivity at room temperature. Doping the lithium lanthanum titanate by niobium preserves the perovskite structure, which is synthesized by ceramic technology at high temperature (1300°C). The X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy results show that the samples exhibit single phase. AC impedance measurements indicate total conductivity of about $8.93 \times 10^{-4}$ S/cm for composition of x = 0.05 at room temperature. The Raman spectra and cyclic voltammetry results of the compound are also reported.

Opis:
The main objective of this paper is to study dielectric properties of two compounds of acronyms 5OSCl and 6OSCl having strongly polar bond (C-Cl) at para position. Dielectric measurements were done in the frequency range from 40 Hz to 15 MHz. The dielectric spectra were measured for two principal alignments. For homeotropic alignment, the reorientation of molecule around the short molecular axis was observed. Both substances studied exhibit large positive dielectric anisotropy and the anisotropy of conductivity was obtained in smectic A as well as nematic phase.

Opis:
Effects of strontium doping on electrical properties of gadolinium-doped ceria were investigated. The $Ce_{0.8-x}Gd_{0.2}Sr_{x}O_{2-δ}$ (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1) compositions were prepared by sol-gel method and sintered at 1300°C for 8 h, the bulk densities were over 93% of theoretical density. These results were consistent with scanning electron microscope. The crystallite size of these materials was determined using the X-ray powder diffractometer and the sizes range from 19.4 nm to 24.4 nm. From the experimental results, it was observed that the composition $Ce_{0.8-x}Gd_{0.2}Sr_{x}O_{2-δ}$ (x=0.02) exhibits higher conductivity (23.6× $10^{-3}$ S $cm^{-1}$) and minimum activation energy (0.83 eV) at 700°C. This composition is thus a potential candidate for use as electrolyte applications in intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells.
